Any thoughts on changing the coin design? We had two fantastic coin designs submitted from the coin competition. They would both look great. Much better than the current one.

As I said, now with a fresh dev team we need fresh interest. This coin is seriously under the radar.

This is a great coin. Some good updates rolling out, so keeping a keen eye on this one.
1885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Unofficial Keisercoin - MKC - The most dangerous coin in crypto. on: February 07, 2014, 12:36:50 PM
Not looking so bad now eh?

Just remember what happened to Nyan. Get this forked and fixed by a real dev so the borked coingen difficulty is fixed and you've got a real threat to Maxcoin. Vote with your hashes.

Has the potential to really stir things up if anyone's man enough to take the reigns of this one. Now would be the time.

yes come on ....some dev should adopt this coin now. That sha3 shitpile was the worst launch in history, this is now the real maxcoin.

It just takes one competent dev to fork this and take over and this coin will be huge. If you want to see a coin explode, then devs, here's your chance. Take it.

Come on some dev take this over.... even reset the diff to 0.0001 if that is what it takes to get interest back here. This is the time to launch with the other one being such a clusterfuck

Totally agree. The dev that takes over this is guaranteed to get a lot of interest. I will even hire 10mhash and put it on this coin.  Grin

Oh jesus....maxcoin at 0.02 BTC and PMC at 0.00009 ?

Crypto world is insane !!!

BTW I like the idea of a lottery but I disagree with the statement 1PMC=1 lottery ticket. Remember that PMC have need to be known from new users and not from who is already here.

I propose to give a lottery ticket for everyone that use the faucet. Transaction ID = 1 lottery ticket per person.

What do u think ?

I would need the list of addresses in some sort of flat file like a txt file or a csv file, but yes, very straight forward to do if I have the list of payout addresses.

PMC price has actually been steadily increasing on Poloniex. Yes, the price is still ridiculous, but again PMC is still in that early pioneering stage. Think of the early days of Litecoin, or Bitcoin. Heck, even Dogecoin. Only those who understand PMC right now understand its massive potential to grow. It takes coins like this time to mature, and when it does, prices we see now will seem insane for very different reasons.

I wish I bought PMC when it was cheap.

We are doing very well, and I will continue to use my coding knowledge to do what I can.

I will happily design a Lottery for PMC based around the faucet addresses. Just start throwing ideas around about how the lottery should work and I can get started this weekend.

Basically I think an hourly draw of small prizes, and daily draws of a bigger prize.
1888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 07, 2014, 09:49:27 AM
How do you even mine this, no pools?
I have been mining MaxCoin on a pool for like 8 hours. Some people are just to lazy to read through a thread to find them, even when they are mentioned over and over,  then post bad assumptions.

What do you expect when you have developers who can't even bother to update the first post with a list of pools?

It's pathetic. This coin is hanging on by Max's name only. Once someone bigger comes along and releases his own coin, this thing will be as dead as a doornail. Why anyone can't see that is beyond me. I hope I get a few now and dump them before they crash.

If Richard Branson or Bill Gates released an altcoin, you'd be lucky to trade this in for 20 latoshis, let alone a single satoshi.
1889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 07, 2014, 01:46:55 AM

As I said earlier. A poor developer blames the community. I said we'd make or break Maxoin. Hoping someone forks Keisercoin and shows them how it's done.

To be honest, I was sort of hoping KDC wouldn't make it to a site like coinwarz.  It's a double-edges sword of sorts... the exposure is nice, but now we're at the mercy of the likes of middlecoin (despite kimoto's).

It will mean more KDC on exchanges, but also higher difficulty. Hm.

You used my screenshot of my one and only orphaned block.  Cheesy

Yeah your post cracked me up so much I had to put in the background. I hope u don't mind, lol!

It made me laugh. Most entertainment I've had mining this coin so far.  Cheesy
1893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 07, 2014, 01:20:12 AM
Holy shit.

A block! I got my 1 freakin' yay.  Cheesy

Edit: balance still shows as zero though. Don't tell me it's stale? ¬_¬

This coin is ridiculous... supposed to have been a fair launch with CPU mining only as per pole that was done few days ago...

Now it's instamined like mad and I'm getting just 320 Kh/s with my i7.

How is this fair???

This was anything but a fair launch. I still have 0 coins I might add.

I don't feel like there is enough movement and activity regarding this thread lately - anyone having ideas for kicking it up a bit again?

It is the weekend soon, and I'm itching to have some fun with my block rewarder. How about some big prize rewards for finding certain blocks? Or if we hit a certain difficulty?

Share some of your ideas. If you can pull the info from the debug window in the wallet, I can use it in my script. Got a lot of PMC to give away.  Smiley

I've been thinking about designing a PMC lottery. Send 1 PMC and get auto entry into prize draw. All ticket funds go into the prizes. Could make a daily lotto script. Shouldn't be too difficult.

1897  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 07, 2014, 12:36:31 AM
I don't get it.

This was all but an organized release.

You don't release the coin on Wednesday because of "502 errors".

But you do release it when you have next to no support for Windows users along with very little documentation.

You wasted peoples time and excluded the majority of people.

That's not a "Fair release" and I will not be investing any money in to Maxcoin.

They planned this. No dev team can be this awful.
1898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine! - 100% Premine / 100% Distribution - Mining TX fees only on: February 07, 2014, 12:34:37 AM
Thanks to whoever sent the 500 PMC to the Faucet!

great news, PMC is getting disbursed nicely now.

Yup, Faucet has distributed around 2,000 PMC to 613 PMC Addresses thus far.

Hope that equates to almost as many idividuals.
1899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 07, 2014, 12:32:10 AM
A mid GPU has 40x edge on a top CPU??? Disgusting scam.

why is it a scam? SHA-3 (Keccak) was designed to be parallelizable and ASIC
friendly. That fact the developers initially didn't provide a working GPU miner
does NOT mean that noone else would be able to provide one.

I ported the single round Kekkac256 to CUDA within a day (coincidencially the
24 hours that the MaxCoin developers have decided to delay the launch).

If the launch had taken place at the original date, there would not have
been a CUDA miner supporting it. In fact the delay inspired me to work on it.
That and the availability of the maxcoin-cpuminer source code at the original
launch day.

I am sure there will also be keccak capable CGMiner forks available very soon.

Christian

You did a great job, and many appreciate it.

If you want to blame anyone for this failure of a coin, blame the incompetent developers.

Instead of botnets you got GPU farms. What's the damn difference?
1900  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][MAX] MaxCoin on: February 06, 2014, 11:59:25 PM
ive got 4 yays mining at 1gh?  going anywhere?

When you click the links to the other coins on the site, the link for maxcoin vanishes.

I quit. I'd rather solo than that garbage. All that hash and not a single block? BS.
