They're still going for over 400+on eBay. Just Fyi.

Even with free electricity it still won't break even.

If they are betting on Bitcoin price going up, they could just directly buy bitcoin and hold.

And where is the fun doing that, it is not always making $. For buy and hold, I have AAPL and FB.

Neither of which offer exposure to bitcoin, but okay.

Not sure why every page has someone commenting on ROI. If you chose not to buy a miner good for you! But don't throw calculations and your opinion in these threads to boost your own reason not to buy.

It's like convincing urself not to buy the newest console because it will be cheaper in a year. Awesome, you got a cheaper console a year after released but missed the fun of being part of the community that bought them and got to experience the positives and negatives so when you do buy in a year, you have a plethora of information to make a well educated purchase. Thats the risk of buying new.

In the end, no one cares. Be part of it or dont but don't insult the intellegience of others on why they bought.

Well said. It's like when people comment about some of us with free power. Instead they should be more concerned with their wives or girlfriends banging their brother than bitch and moan about being jealous of people who really have free power.
1883  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS-USA - BFL Monarch 720GH miner on: December 27, 2015, 07:07:53 PM
Pic :

Works great. Stock speed is 720GH/s, but I ran if for about 2 weeks only, at 520GH using 270watts. Pretty efficient.

No Rpi and no power Supply is coming with it.

Price : 0.65BTC shipped within the USA.

I have many and only positive transactions here, but can use escrow with OgNasty if buyers wants it, on their dime.

Locking thread to keep riffraff out.. PM me, if interested to buy.

TY

I am wondering, are there still AntMiner S7 coupon circulating or being handed out by Bitmains for the previous batch misshaps? Or are they all expired by now, as the base price of the S7 itself has been dropping?

They still have not HONORED any promises they made to the people who bought Batch 1 units and are IGNORING tickets about that for months now.

Just so everyone still knows.

They owe me about .5 btc for my batch one and batch two gear.

All I have asked for was a few coupons for future purchases.

No coupons not one.  I have purchased  6 since the first 3.  A few coupons for 100 each would have me squared away. But they have not done this as of yet.

Basically as George would say "They got Hand" .

As long as they have hand they will not be very good at reimbursing people.  Even though they announced they would do so .

I purchased 6 s-7's since the Batch 1 and 2.  I am not the only waiting for something from those batches.
As I type I wonder if I will buy a batch 9 on Monday the 28th. I may and without the coupons that they really should have sent me.

Lets face it will the world boycott them? Until they pay for batch 1 and 2  the answer is no.

It is simply a lack of honor on their part.

As I await my 4 from them this monday some would say I should not speak until I get my 4.  Does not matter as I said I will most likely order more once these arrive.

yeah I got hozed on a few Batch1s and a few Batch 6(I think. forgot now). No answers to tickets, they promised me and everyone the reimbursement, coupons, etc.. Nothing. Not even a reply to the tickets about that to me and a few people I know.

Even if they know they have the best product(well.. I wouldn't say best. QL is in the SHTTER at bitmain)if they had ANY business scruples they'd not treat their customers that pretty much are dumb enough to pre-pay for their products and a lot of you people don't even complain when they send you used parts (but that's another story).

I too would have been happy with a few tickets, as I'm out about 0.8BTC total or a so.

Shame really.

I have a friend that actually overpaid and has money in his account at BITMAIN, he can log in and see it, but they have been ignoring his tickets to get the BTC sent back to him for 2 months now. What sort of BS is that??

So they are selling batch 2, 4.6th models that have been running for 2 or 3 months for $1550 if u want it right now.....

This place run by a real bitmain employee, that's for sure. Lol

My S7 are getting lots of HW errors and are underperforming
I have 4 of them ,only 1 is getting low HW errors and good performance

The rest of them perform like this one : https://gyazo.com/af319f55fa78b0ed11626611e76888b0
with HW errors around 0.03 % or higher

How can I fix this ?

Why do you think that 0.03% is too much? If you remember, previous generations of Bitmain ASIC miners (S2 for example) had way more HW errors, my S2 ran at 0.9%. But at the pool there was about 1+ Th. So did I lose any valuable amount of hashing power? I guess no.

Also I found that my S7 (Batch6) gives many HW errors right after start, it can be up to 3% in first seconds (I saw it once), but take a look at the HWE percentage after 20-30 minutes...

Because at original freq or under it is 0.0000% HW error rate. Once you go into higher speeds (although the later batches get it even at original speeds from what I see)you start hitting HW error rates. If there is more than 0.01%, IMO your miner is more irrational than stable and could impact the miner hardware or the income generated from it towards the pool.

On new gen hardware there should be pretty much no HW errors and comparing it to an old miner tech that is 3 generations or more previous is like saying that your 1990 Nissan Sentra sounded like a lawnmower and it is ok for a brand new 2015 model to have the same shitty sound.  Cheesy

I doubt he is that clueless. LOL...

Anyone look at the efficiencies of the later batches?

I was talking to my buddy who has a bunch of Batch 6, 4.05TH ones running at 4.4-4.5TH but only using 1150-1190Watts at the wall with EVGA 1300G2's.
He told me a few were even clocked at 4.2TH when he received it from factory at 625MH.

So that works out to be more efficient than all the other batches, no? I'm talking about real world @ wall usage , not the BS they usually advertise.
Maybe Batch 6's are the ones to get and Batch 7-8 is to be avoided like the plague as a LOT of them are having issues.

Batch 1 uses 1210 W to get 4.86 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2490 J/GH
Batch 2 uses 1160 W to get 4.66 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2489 J/GH
Batch 3 uses 1210 W to get 4.86 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2490 J/GH
Batch 4 uses 1160 W to get 4.66 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2489 J/GH
Batch 5 uses 1210 W to get 4.86 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2490 J/GH
Batch 6 uses 1042 W to get 4.05 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2572 J/GH
Batch 7 uses 1278 W to get 5.06 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2573 J/GH
Batch 8 uses 1293 W to get 4.73 TH/s = Actual Efficiency: 0.2734 J/GH

It is all about efficiency 24 hours a day!

Looks to me that the Efficiency is going down.

Is that actual measured watt usage or what is claimed by Bitmain.
My B1 used 1280-1290watts at full blast (Just around 4.85TH.

OK, I will set it to manual for now but what happen to the setting where it says to shutdown if over 80C?  Did that failed for when the Internet issue happened before?

Yup. Some friend miners due to that bug. fans go extremely low, yet hashing to 'nothingness' stays, and they overheat.

Set manually 40% or higher and you will be fine.

OK - My Batch 8 S7 Just arrived.  Powered it on with 4x Dual PCI-E and 2 Single PCI-E cable from the EVGA G2 1300W power supply.  Everything seems online and up with no red lines but I can't find it logging into my DHCP Router.  Anyone seen this issue before?  Tried resetting it via the pin hole, tried powering it off and on, still same results.  Also tried different network cable.  IS the reset still done via the that Pin hole?  I'm also seeing a small reset like button on the other side as well.

Restart your router.

Just got my first S7 up and didn't realize it was such a noisy beast. I customized the fan to 40% and that helped a lot but now of course I'm running hotter. Went from about 62 to 72 C. It's a batch 8 pushing 4.8 Th and still well below the 80 C upper limit and getting very low HW errors (0.0002%), but I'm wondering if causing damage.

Has anyone reviewed the specs and done a study of temperature vs. efficiency?

Has anyone ever noticed that running hotter was better?

Has anyone running in the 72 C, or higher range, ever noticed a problem due to overheating?

Is there a "best" temperature range?

Sounds like the later batches are utter sheyt.

My Batch 1's (That Bitmain still owes me and everyone else $$ for compensation on) ran at 35% fan speed, and 48-51C across all boards.
My friend's Batch 6's run overclocked at 4.45TH at 40% Fan speed @ 54-59C. (And he's heating his house with it. Too funny)

It's 32 F outside and the ambient temperature in the basement where I'm mining is 74 F. And, I also bought to help heat the house and it's helping along with some S3s that I've undervoltaged to increase efficiency. Without knowing your ambient temperature can't really make a comparison and whether one is running colder or hotter is not really the issue. I'm pleased so far that it's running so great. Just wondering if anyone has had any problems running in the 72 C or hotter range for a while.

When I had my Batch1's in my basement, the ambient was about 65F, now the ambient is about the same as I have an S5 heating the basement by itself. Outside is in the 40s.

Phew! Now lets get a few bright green ones  Grin
t

So we get a valid block and almost 1ph leave the pool? Why would one pool hop here with a 5N? Hopping works well at slush, but why here. Don't get it.

Stay after a block and keep hash high to get the next block faster.
It's nothing new actually.
That's the strange thing about it.
Often in the past I've seen the hash rate drop after we find a block.
I've no idea why miners leave then.

Maybe they are hoping that the next block will be solved quickly and they'll get double pay from that block and the next pool's block they are mining at already.

Or.. Just a rental of hash that ended / is suspended until they get payment from the previous blocks.

Didn't have time to get measurements for power use yet. Yes, control board is missing 6 data ports and 4 fan headers.

Notice the very high hardware errors at stock settings. bitmain is selling us cheapened out to the max, overclocked junk.

Thanks, bitmain.  Roll Eyes

You really surprised that this highly reputable, reliable and HONEST company would do such things???

 Cheesy Cheesy **SARCASM OFF**

They still haven't done anything with the people they actually OWE money to due to the Batch1 fiasco.
