Hi guys. I guess I'm member of EGC now as well  as I bought a little baggy of egc coins. Yey! What would be the next milestone in egc development? I can see there is solar thingy in plans for future as well as other interesting things. I just want to know , will this be realized in future and is there way to help with some thing. Thank you

Hi Saracenis, welcome to the EGC community! Thank you for the support and the good questions. First, congratulations on acquiring your EGC. Be sure to stake them so you can collect the 7% interest.

As you can see in the mapped out plan below, EverGreenCoin is very well on track. We have meet all goals of Q1. Actually, surpassed these projections already as we are on 4 exchanges already, have released 2 new wallet upgrades (the latest for all supported OS's), and done very well with marketing. The "on-going" tasks (the sun and sun rays in the illustration) are all very much in swing as more and more people are learning of our environmental goals and we have had media coverage that is helping achieve that. We also have already completed the Q2 goal of web wallets which, could easily be argued, achieves the Q3 goal of mobile wallets as the web wallet (with staking) can be used from any web-enabled device. I also can almost guarantee the Q4 goal of the Foundation's humane efforts will be realized long before Q4.

In my opinion the merchant adoption milestone needs to be brought closer to 'now' as that will help realize the Q2 goal of market stabilization and, yes, you can help with that. Simply fill out a coin request form at coinpayments.net to help. Coinpayments.net is a payment processing gateway that allows merchants to accept crypto. Getting added to one of these services could easily enable hundreds of merchants with web stores to accept EGC. Also, if you know any crypto-friendly merchants, ask them to please consider accepting EverGreenCoin. To answer your "will this be realized in the future" question, I present our track record as proof, yes it will be.

As far as "interesting things", the energy credit campaign is very interesting and we are working with our partner, RenewableEnergy.London to reach that goal by Q4.  Also, I am in talks with a like-minded land owner in one of the sunniest places in North America. Some legalities have proven to be a hurdle on the land owner's side but that is presently being resolved. This is very much a long term objective of a solar farm / mining rental farm. But again, I offer our track record as evidence that we reach our goals.

I hope I answered your questions completely and with sufficient evidence to feel your recent investment in EGC was a wise one. The team is working hard to insure it will be nothing short of that. Again, welcome to the EGC community, thank you for the support, and happy staking!

Thanx chrys... well this is my first time staking..  Grin

and hopefully wont be your last ...

remember to have fun ... this is not always about btc or money or coins ... its about community and people and fun ...

and you are welcome Wink ...

#crysx

Thanks for, as always, being such a helpful community member, crysx. Crypto needs more fellas like yourself and less haters.

Bitdragon, welcome aboard the PoS (Proof of Stake) train. PoS is much less 'wasteful' of electricity than pure PoW and why for EverGreenCoin, it made all the sense in the world. EGC does have a PoW phase that will end in about 4 more months. This PoW phase is so that all the ~13 million EGC supply can come into existence. Thereafter, the only new EGC generated will be from people / wallets collecting the 7% PoS rewards. With no maximum staking age, this will continue indefinitely.

Like crysx said, have fun!

EverGreenCoin Version 1.1.2 for all !!! ...is now available for download. Smiley

This is an optional update for all supported operating systems.
This update includes:
  • Addition of new checkpoints.
  • Cosmetic improvements to logos in the wallet and system icons.
  • Windows stability fixes achieved through the removal of the news feed and subsequently the dependencies of it.

Again, this upgrade is optional. If you are not experiencing any issues with your current EverGreenCoin wallet, feel free to continue using it. Windows users, if you are experiencing issues with your version 1.1.1 wallet, you will want to update to version 1.1.2 as these issues have been resolved. Before upgrading, it is the best practice to make a backup copy of your EverGreenCoin wallet.dat file before doing so, regardless of your operating system.

Your wallet.dat file can be found on Windows within %APPDATA%\EverGreenCoin\ or otherwise stated, C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME HERE\AppData\Roaming\EverGreenCoin\
On Mac OS X it can be found within /Users/YOUR USERNAME HERE/Library/Application Support/EverGreenCoin/
on Linux it can be found withing ~/.evergreencoin/ or otherwise stated, /home/YOUR USERNAME HERE/.evergreencoin

Simply copy the wallet.dat file to another location you feel is a safe place. For example; your desktop, a removable storage device, or elsewhere on your network. Chances that you will need this backup after the upgrade are small but, the wallet.dat file contains all your EverGreenCoins. It is the best practice to make the backup copy of your wallet.dat before starting the upgrade and is strongly advised.

To perform the actual upgrade is easy. You simply need to run the new version 1.1.2 EverGreenCoin wallet instead of your prior version.

If you need assistance, please feel free to post in this thread, personal message myself or another team member, or seek help in real-time in the IRC. If you do choose the latter, please ask or describe your concern or issue when you enter the room. Please be patient for a response as other people may have stepped away from their keyboards or are otherwise preoccupied. Someone will help you as soon as possible.

Enjoy EverGreenCoin Version 1.1.2 everyone!
1906  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EGC] EverGreenCoin | X15 PoW/PoS | NO premine / NO ICO | Foundation on: February 17, 2016, 08:11:41 AM
So the community is aware, I will be bringing down the primary seed node so I can upgrade it to EverGreenCoin version 1.1.2. This code is available on the EverGreenCoin GitHub repository. There is no need to upgrade to this code and is an optional update.

Version 1.1.2 only consists of new additional checkpoints, some minor cosmetic improvements, and removal of the twitter / news feed. The twitter / news feed, more specifically the .dll's that it is dependent on, were isolated as the source of the errors Windows users are encountering with version 1.1.1. If you are running version 1.1.1 on Linux and enjoy the twitter / news feed, by all means, continue using it because only the Windows version is effected by this problem. The twitter / news feed and its dependencies have been removed from the code so that a reliable Windows wallet can be compiled.

This does not mean we are giving up on the twitter / news feed. This is a temporary measure we have chosen so that a reliable and stable, in all functions, Windows EverGreenCoin wallet can be released allowing for more time to implement the twitter / news feed in a way that does not cause the problems that version 1.1.1 for Windows users have experienced. If you have had no issues with your EverGreenCoin version 1.1.1 Windows wallet, the upgrade will not be required and you can continue to use your v1.1.1 wallet if you so chose.

The release of the Windows v1.1.2 wallet will be as soon as possible after its compilation and testing. If all goes as planned, released within 24 hours certainly.

If you have had issues with your Windows v1.1.1 EverGreenCoin wallet, I do apologize for your inconvenience it has caused you. A solution is on the way.

We have been, and still are, testing out a new back-end for the faucet. If you have recently been to the faucet, you might see some very small payments as this is being tested. You are welcome! Smiley These test have not been conducted with the Foundation's coins. Also, so the community is aware, I will be moving a small amount (10 EGC total) of the EverGreenCoin Foundation's coins to another wallet (EcMDgSSYGT8UwrKCnbLeWuH3rZMyE4Hv2D) to disperse faucet payments on behalf of the Foundation.

I use nfactor of 10

Thy have many Kick Starter Coins on they list. I bet EGC could on top of this list?

Interesting. I will persue that and see where it leads. Thank you for bringing this to attention.

Hello! I'm having issues loading my wallet. when I load my wallet, a Runtime Error Occurs. It says " The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the applications's support team for more info. "

And after this msg alert another msg saying " EvergreenCoin-Qt.exe has stopped working" and then crashes.

I tried reinstalling the wallet, but the same problem persists.

Pls help me fix this!!

Try rebooting your machine prior. This issue has been reported by some windows users of the latest version, 1.1.1.0. Sorry for the inconvenience it has caused you and other users.

Reebooting isn't helping!! All my coins are held up in the wallet.  Embarrassed

I understand your frustration but, please remain calm. Your coins are safe.

Rebooting should have done the trick. As it has for anyone else experiencing this windows specific issue in the past. I presume you did not have this issue on launch of the wallet before because you have coins in it. You mentioned you reinstalled the wallet. The current windows wallet does not have an installer but, rather is an archive containing the files. Has anything else changed in your evironment recently? And like chrysophylax asked, what is your environment? 32 bit or 64 bit? What version of windows? What version of the wallet?

We will help you get this sorted. Your coins are safe. I apoligize for the frustration it may be causing you. I have verified with other windows users and myself in a windows VM, there is no new issue. This must be something specific to your environment.

Thanks I'm hashing and finding blocks now but when i start i get a windows error saying
"this application has requested the runtime to terminate in an unusual way "

the miner still works as i say

any clues what this runtime thing is

cheers

Glad to hear you got your mining working. If you restart your machine, that error will stop.

I've restarted many times now but I still have the runtime error some rigs the wallet continues to run but on others the wallet just closes

has anyone else seen this behaviour

I have found a workround for this runtime error :-

if i start the wallet after the miner I get no runtime error

if i start the wallet before the miner i get the runtime error

Well that is great news. Thanks for sharing it with us. That will help me investigate the issue. That said, I can mine in both orders and never get the runtime error. But I am glad this work around has worked for you. I will keep that in mind if someone comes to me with the same issue before I can find the resolution.

Happy mining!

Trying to learn Ubuntu and figured I'd try it on my mini staking machine first since the 11 are so coins I'm staking are maxing out the 4 cores. So the question I have is once I download EGC wallet to Ubunta, can I just copy/paste my windows wallet.dat to Ubuntu or is not compatible? I also noticed CryptoChainer.com does not have a Linux version would the windows version work? Thanks for any help

The wallet.dat and blockchain are OS independent. I have never tried copying and pasting the contents of the wallet.dat, much less cross OS. I would move the file via ftp, ssh, wget or other method. However; so long as nothing was "lost in translation", I see no reason why it would not work.

Dev of CARB claims that you are copying him.

LOL, what is CARB? I assure you, I have never stolen any idea or copied any idea and claimed it as my own. A lot of coins have, or claim to have, environmentally friendly objectives. Perhaps this "Dev of CARB" has confused this sharing of a common goal with copying? Surly "Dev of CARB" can not claim environmentally friendly initiatives are his or her idea. Not even exclusively to crypto.

Can you please direct me towards these accusations? I have sent you a PM. If anyone thinks I have copied their work or ideas and dishonestly tried to take credit for that work or idea, I would like to clear the confusion because surly, I have not.

While we're on the topic of wallet backup...

Suppose someone wants to just export their wallet keys somehow and have those scribbled on paper or saved to a text file on a floppy, where the wallet.dat wouldn't otherwise fit --

How would one go about exporting the vitals of the wallet so they could be imported into a wallet later?

RTFM replies with good links will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,
-Chicago

Hi Chicago. The RPC command dumpprivkey will do this. As requested, RTFM link Smiley

Thank you. Evergreen, I presume you're the developer right? though this coin is hitting the ground and someone is selling at the lowest price, Im still hoping for the success of this coin. thank you once again for the quick response.. have a great day Grin

You are very welcome bitdragon2016 and I am glad to help! Yes, my name is Steven Saxton and I am the Lead Developer and Foundation Founder of EverGreenCoin. I do think our success is imminent but yes, it does seem the market presently does not see that so clear. The bright side of that is it is a good time for new people to join-in at a low cost. Perhaps now is a good time to buy the EverGreenCoin one will use to purchase the EverGreenCoin Solar Miner with. Of course that could not be projected with precision but, it could prove to be a large savings as surely that will increase demand. Also, PoW won't last forever. Wink  If you do not know, PoW will last ~6 months. ~4 1/2 months remain. That stop to the supply alone will drive demand and subsequently the price.

I thank you for your wishes of success for EverGreenCoin. You have a great day as well.  Smiley

Some more good news to share with you today:

Quote from: Steve of CryptoChainer.com
Steven,

I will certainly add your coin to CryptoChainer.  I am syncing the blockchain now[...]

Steve
CryptoChainer

CryptoChainer.com is a service website that provides current copies of supported coin's blockchains. This will be a very useful resource when bootstrapping the EverGreenCoin blockchain and we are thankful for the addition which will be complete as soon as possible by CryptoChainer's staff. I will update you when it is live and also post a EGC donation address for CryptoChainer as soon as I have that information.

EverGreenCoin is live on CryptoChainer and CryptoChainer's EGC donation address is: ELeXSCBZkiUNbApipLF9bzP6Bu2RnbfAte

If you could please, send them a donation as the do need to cover server costs to provide us this service. They have also given EverGreenCoin, "the top slot on the site, with a 'new' badge". That was very kind of them to do.

Thanks in advance for showing them how supportive our community is and, of course, thank you CryptoChainer!

Hello guyz.. I just want to ask, how many hours does it take to proceed my wallet for STAKING? or is there  a minimum amount of EGC in order to start for staking? and another else., do I need to keep my wallet open for 24hours to received the 7% staking . thank you in advance for answering this concern.

Mininum staking age is 24 hours. That is 24 hours after maturity. You wallet will begin staking after about 25 hours of recieving your first EverGreenCoin. You do not need your wallet open during this time. But after it passes, you will need your wallet open and unlocked (for staking or for staking and spending) for staking to start.

There is no minimum amount of EGC. You will collect 7% on even small balances. Mind you, with a small balance comes low weight. All this means is, while yes you will collect 7% annual, you will not see frequent payments towards it. Wallets with greater weight see more frequent payments but, still see 7% annual also.

No, you do not need your wallet running 24 hours for staking. But, at very minimal leave it opened and unlocked (for staking or for staking and spending) at least 12 hours every 30 days.

You may wish to take a look at this post as there is further explaination of the staking requierments.

I hope that helps. Happy staking!
