1961  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is Buy time! on: February 01, 2016, 01:25:43 PM
yep, im topping up my bitcoins as there will be a significant price increase sooner or later and it will make me money

everyone should take advantage of the price right now. because no one knows when the price would stay this low and lets be positive that price will rise very soon.  Smiley

It is good time for whales to accumulate before the halving. They will try their best to make the price low.

i am fairly sure that whales have had enough time to accumulate coins already. i think even they are waiting for some market action. right now is a good moment to accumulate for the average bitcoiner. people should put their money to action and buy now before it's too late.
1962  Economy / Speculation / Re: We will be at 600+ again after all the FUD is cleared on: February 01, 2016, 01:22:07 PM
This is what makes me lose faith in bitcoin. People are too fickle and will just start selling their coins as soon as they get a whiff of bad news and of course this has a knock on effect and sends everyone pannicking. The only thing I can see pushing the price up the other way is the block halving later this year. Hope I'm not dissapointed but if the value is still fairly low by the start of next year I can't see it rising anytime soon after.

well, i'm not losing faith at all. it's just a temporary thing that will slowly fade away when people calm down. i just focus on the good things and keep holding as always.
1963  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 (within a month?) on: January 31, 2016, 03:33:34 PM
Sadly yesterday we see the price fall down to below 400 $, I wish it would bounce back to be stable above $400 levels very soon.

Well the price can fall even more i see it go to 300 easily.
It seems the whales are out of money/patience and the sellers are winning.

whales don't run out of money as they know very well what they do. people are simply not good in waiting and having patience to see the price go up steadily. they focus on quick profits only. that's why some people get bored and sell. people who have enough patience will be rewarded with a higher price. others who have sold because they were bored will buy back at higher price.
1964  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: January 31, 2016, 03:28:44 PM
I would not count on bitcoin at all when it comes to investments.
Use and buy bitcoin for the innovation.

If you want to retire safely and wealthy offcourse...

Bitcoin will not be an investment tool if the price is so volatile. We will not invest into a pump and dump tool.

volatility or not, bitcoin is whatever you want. it can be a currency if you so wish, it can be a tool to store wealth, or an investment tool. volatility makes bitcoin a more than interesting investment and attracts a lot people from all over the world.

with every day is so
more are involved more is heard about and more will be invested in it
so it can that small amount will be enough or even bigger wont be enough

Exactly, totally depends on what value bitcoin holds in the future, even 1 btc can take care of us or even 100 btc would not be sufficient, really interesting to see that whether bitcoin will exist in future or not, or will get replaced by some other crypto currency.

only time will tell what the future holds for bitcoin. if there is enough demand for a currency as bitcoin, then we can enjoy it for plenty of more years. if not, then bitcoin will get replaced by a better currency that is wanted by the majority of the people world wide.
1965  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you store your bitcoins? on: January 31, 2016, 03:20:43 PM
i have my bitcoin wallet backups stored in all sorts of memory devices as external hdd's and usb drives and memory cards. i also have all privatekeys printed on several papers which i laminated in strong plastic.
1966  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you actively spend your bitcoins? on: January 31, 2016, 02:57:45 PM
for the first time in nearly 1.5 months i have spent some coins. i had to buy myself 2 hosting packages for a project i am currently working on. payment went through instantly without the need for a single confirmation.
1967  Economy / Speculation / Re: $2k in january on: January 31, 2016, 02:51:20 PM
It's gonna be February in a few hours, let's hope this month we would see the block size issue reach a conclusion and finally see the price gain momentum towards the halving.

it won't happen this month. i think it will take at least 6 months to a year to see an agreement about the block size issue. till that time the community keeps staying in doubt and the bitcoin alternatives keep popping up.
1968  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is Buy time! on: January 31, 2016, 02:47:34 PM
It's always time to collect more. I'm not buying. I'm earning and spending. Maybe I'll buy sometime this year. We'll see.

right now is the best time to buy bitcoins for the people that haven't done it already. if you wait untill after the block halving or at the end of the year, then the prices are nowhere near todays prices. right now is buying time if you want to get yourself an early seat for the comming price rally, and after the halving you can accumulate as much as you want.
1969  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think will be the price of BTC at the moment of halving? on: January 31, 2016, 02:44:31 PM
i go for $700 at the exact moment of the block halving as i think there will be a huge pump that will bring the price there. if we stay around $500 then a lot people will be disappointed.
1970  Economy / Speculation / Re: $350 will be the bottom on: January 30, 2016, 05:05:46 PM
I think $350 will be the new bottom as well. I don't think and I hope it won't go back down below this value.
We'll all need to wait and see what will happen next month and see what will happen exactly with bitcoin.

the bottom was already at $350 and this time will not be different. if it does happen to go below $350, then we can see the price come very close to $320. i surely hope this will not happen.
1971  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price is going sideways again on: January 30, 2016, 04:57:24 PM
the price might go down a bit, but whatever is happening, i can't see the price go sub $350. the support there is simply too strong at that level.
1972  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price going back to $250??? on: January 30, 2016, 01:48:16 PM
$250 is still far from now, I can only see price moving up and down above $365+ and up, well, if someone would do something to make the price fall, then it will happen, but I don't that they would let it.  Smiley

at this point i think only bad news about a hacked exchange that lost tens of thousands of coins can make the price go down to around $250 or even lower. as long as this doesn't happen, we can expect the price to rise gradually.
1973  Economy / Speculation / Re: How will halving affect the value? on: January 30, 2016, 01:44:22 PM
I expect a big pump in the price to a new ath. But it will fall in a short time to sub 1000$ and stay there at leas one year more.
Based on halving only? Have a look on the all-time charts how far from the ath we are now, and how much did we grow due to the last halving. No, halving alone won't get us beyond $600. We need some more fundamental news to form the hype. Otherwise there will be big disappointment.

i can't see a new ath happens just because of the block halving, but maybe we can come close to $1000 when people start to panic buy like there is no tomorrow. block halving plus reaching an agreement about the block size increase will give the price even a stronger boost.
1974  Economy / Economics / Re: I'm not gonna sell any coin. on: January 30, 2016, 01:38:36 PM
i will not sell anything too it does not matter if the price will go up or down i will still hold and have bitcoins in my wallet, i hope that one day it will make me a rich person

But I have already sold all my coins and now I'll buy them when the price reaches below $350. I couldn't wait for long as I was in need of fiat. I don't trade in bitcoins and hence don't wait till I earn a lot of profit.

it's not really a smart move to sell all your coins unless you have sold well above $400. waiting for the price to go below $350 is probably a waste of time as it isn't going to happen i believe. you are better off buying back 50% of your coins right now and the other 50% you can use it to buy when the price goes down more. at what price did you sell your coins if i may ask?
1975  Economy / Economics / Re: The Halving - Good or Bad for Bitcoin? on: January 30, 2016, 01:34:15 PM
I strongly believe it is an excellent thing for bitcoin and all the community since most probably the price will rise then and more people will get interested in bitcoins. Question is, though: since everybody already knows about the halving, isn't it in the price already??

i strongly believe the block halving isn't already priced in 100%. the rise at the end of 2015 might have been due to the people scooping up coins early to not stay behind, but there is still plenty room for profits. i think the real peak will be much higher than when the price comes down and stabilize for a bit. i think we might see a peak of $800 to $900 and after everything has cooled down, i can see the price nicely stay around $600 to $700.
1976  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Comes First: Block Size or Halving? on: January 29, 2016, 01:19:21 PM
before there is an agreement about the ongong block size debate, we might be seeing the block halving is being completed first as an agreement regarding the block size can take another year or so. i have no confidence in a quick outcome.
1977  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back to $ 400 soon? on: January 29, 2016, 01:10:14 PM
I think the thread should be, back to 300 soon?
And yes i think we are going back to 300 dollar again. It's been fun, but right now you see more people are selling in combination with some bad news..

I don't think so. Bitcoin hasn't been going down below $350 just yet. Bitcoin is more likely to get up to $400 again rather than down to $300.

I think it was like to be down below $350, but not soon. maybe 1-2 months for sure. because the price is too stable and boring, so there is nothing that can make bitcoin price increasing

bitstamp chart shows a low of $352 that was reached nearly 2 weeks ago. i am confident that the price will maintain its position above $350 as the support seems to be quite solid. i don't find the price to be stable and boring. the price is going up and down like $20 quite frequently. great trading opportunities for a lot people here.
1978  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your least favorite thing about Bitcoin? on: January 29, 2016, 12:54:06 PM
1) Transaction times are slower than credit / debit.

2) The safety of it. there's a lot of scam here.

Otherwise, pretty happy with it

that people scam each other is not the fault of bitcoin. exactly the same happens with fiat currencies. it's up to the people to use common sense when doing business here on this forum or outside this forum. when things look too good to be true, then it mostly is a scam. that's why using a trusted forum escrow helps decreasing the risks significantly.
1979  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a manipulated coin? on: January 29, 2016, 12:47:48 PM
you should change the title into 'is the bitcoin price being manipulated?' most people (me included) think the bitcoin price is being manipulated heavily.
1980  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: January 29, 2016, 12:41:13 PM
