1541  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is not investment! on: March 29, 2016, 07:24:51 PM
bitcoin can be whatever you want. for me bitcoin is a currency, store of wealth, and an investment tool. that's what my bitcoin usage looks like. at this moment there is way too much demand, so prices of $100 and even lower will possibly never happen again, unless there is very bad news such as a huge exchange that lost all its coins due to a hack or theft from inside the exchange.
1542  Economy / Speculation / Re: When are you selling your bitcoins? on: March 28, 2016, 02:51:13 PM
at this point i am not planning to sell any of my coins beside the coins that i have for trading purposes. i will start to secure profits as soon as the price reaches at least $700, and definitely not before that.
1543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to teach someone about Bitcoin on: March 28, 2016, 02:42:50 PM
just explain that person everything in easy to understand words and terms, especially when it comes to people that don't know much about technology related things. if you explain just the basic things then that's more than fine. after that they will search for more information on their own if they so wish.
1544  Economy / Speculation / Re: Incoming $163,000,000,000 market cap and $7700 coins on: March 28, 2016, 12:17:58 PM
True why would the price go to 7.7k. It makes no sense. It may even drop to 250 again. There are never certainties when you invest.
Bitcoin is not different then your average investment.
Those numbers are based on your wishes and they are related with feelings and as such
they are false! Simple don't put your feelings in business.

It will reach $7700 if the bitcoin is adopted by 20 million of the people in the world, but it will take some time.

basically people playing around with a few thousand satoshi's are also part of the total bitcoin adoption. a few million of these people won't do much with the price. we need people with money that bring in tens of thousands of dollars. a few million of these will definitely help the price go up a lot. a higher amount of users is nice, but it's money that we need to see the price go up.
1545  Economy / Speculation / Re: Poll: What year will Bitcoin reach $10,000? on: March 28, 2016, 12:11:37 PM
I don't think we'll see $10,000 until the next halving, so roughly around 2020.

2020 is only 4 years away from now. in that 4 years the price will most likely not even reach $2000 (if ever). $10,000 to happen in such a small time frame will mean that the price must grow with around $2400 per year. do you seriously see that happen?
1546  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: March 28, 2016, 12:07:41 PM
I would like to have at least 100 coins cuz i think it will be enough

Earning 100 bitcoin in a 20years time is really simple. At the same time when one earns few bitcoin the remaining grows automatically.

it looks simple now, but each year the price will increase and the amount of effort you need to do to earn just 1 bitcoin will most likely increase with at least 20 to 50% per year. especially with the upcoming block halving and the block halving after that. if any one with enough funds want to have at least 100 bitcoins, then right now is the best time to get them. the longer you wait, the higher the price will be.
1547  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: March 28, 2016, 12:03:34 PM
How too get rich is easy in my opinion just invest in the bitcoin and wait for the halving that is coming.
In the time you have to wait you can also trade a bit to gain some fast profit so that is also nice.

Even optimists only expect Bitcoin's price to double after the halving. You probably are already rich, if you think taking advantage of the block reward halving is going to make you rich.  Wink

"only" double? if the price would indeed double from the current price level, then it can be seen as a great achievement. it will make all people that bought at todays prices very happy. and those who waited too long with buying will end up being very disappointed as they once again missed a great opportunity to buy.
1548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do people around you think about Bitcoin ? on: March 27, 2016, 03:12:43 PM
The people around me don't know much about Bitcoin, so most likely they think that it's just a virtual currency not a real money.

Just like what we felt when we know bitcoin at the first time, am I right?  Grin I was thinking the same when I heard about bitcoin more than a year ago, but because I'm interested to know more so I decided to learn more.
Once people interested to know more, then they will learn. Otherwise, they will never care about it even though we try to introduce it to someone else.

Yes i agree with you, when i still new about bitcoin i also think bitcoin is not worth and a scam. But when i know what is bitcoin, i interested on bitcoin. That's why we should make people interested on bitcoin, so people around us will think bitcoin is worth it.

it's very difficult to get non tech people that have been brain washed by the media to give bitcoin a fair chance. if we want to reach user growth throughout the years, then we need these average joes to enter the bitcoin economy. it will be a real challenge getting them to give bitcoin a try. it costs only 30 minutes or even less to know the very basic things about bitcoin. there are very informative videos on youtube that explain bitcoin in easy to understand language. they just have to set the first step.
1549  Economy / Speculation / Re: 460 before 12/4 ? on: March 27, 2016, 02:46:52 PM
it's definitely possible, but as soon as we go up to price levels higher than $450 the price falls back to lower $400's as it happened several times in a row now. don't think this time will be much different.
1550  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: March 27, 2016, 02:43:58 PM
i hope too

i will be repetitive but yes it will rise, probably only because of halving, price rises even now because of it so it is really nice thing, i hope price will be 530$ before halving, so it could rise to 700$ after halving and i am sure than price rise by 100$ in 5 months till end of 2016

for the short term the block halving is the only reason why people think the price will go up. but i also think the price will get a significant boost when the block size issue is being solved for as long as it lasts.
1551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is in trouble on: March 27, 2016, 12:38:33 PM
I believe bitcoin is not in trouble right now as the price is really high right now

the current price isn't "really high" and it's not "low" either. bitcoin will only have troubles when there is something severe wrong with the network or when there is a flaw being found by some one... or when an alternative version of bitcoin such as classic or xt or whatever they are called win this long standing drama battle. that's when bitcoin is in real troubles.
1552  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC BUYING !!!!!!! on: March 27, 2016, 11:05:52 AM
I think now it is too late to buy bitcoin.
because I see the development of BTC over the last few months is very stable   Huh

the price has been quite stable throughout the months, but it's definitely too late to buy. i still believe there is 50% profit that we can gain from the current price level this year. i consider that to be a somewhat short term investment. reason enough to buy and hold for some months. people that don't buy at current price level will regret not having bought at todays price after 6 months. regret comes always later.

The price is still less than $500 of course its not too late. If I have the spare money to spend I'd probably buy more after all its going to be a win-win situation in the next months.
I don't get why someone would actually think BTC will disappear and that ETH will replace it, when in fact the users are still in this forum. ONCE we don't see users here in bitcoinbtalk and that users move to ETH forum, that's when you should think ETH can possibly beat btc. Sadly that don't happen.

you know why some people here think ethereum is great and might replace bitcoin? it's just because that ethereum is being pumped heavily and bitcoin still staying at the well known $400 to $420 price levels. they are bored because the bitcoin price doesn't move. these people are not real bitcoiners. i call them coin hoppers. ethereum will end up seeing its value come down significantly to more realistic levels. once the pump is over these people will look for other coins that are being pumped heavily.
1553  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will rise? on: March 27, 2016, 10:59:52 AM
Bitcoin is expected to rise only after the days of halving. Till halving price drop can be experienced rather than a price increase.
possibilities before halving will rise and after halving I think it will be dump. because my estimate would be a lot of people buy bitcoin before halving.
true, and it probably will trigger an increase in the price of bitcoin high before halving. keep thinking positive, that bitcoin prices will always go up. because bitcoin is one of the wonders that exist on the internet  Smiley

Bitcoin will rise soon when we are near the halving or when there is a significant amount of user suddenly use bitcoin then the demand will be high and the price will be high too.

new users will come when the media starts reporting about bitcoin reaching a new high or when we touch the $1000 price level again. and that might take years to happen. untill that time the media is only spreading negativity to mislead people that don't understand how bitcoin works. and these rookies take everything for granted that comes from the media.
1554  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price going back to $250??? on: March 27, 2016, 10:54:37 AM
The cost of mining is about $250 for many big farms. For most home miners, the mining cost will be around $300. So the price will not drop too low.

The bottom of the recent trading is around $400. So I think it will not go back to $250 in the short term.

Yeah, the bottom won't go to the lowest of $250 as for a long time it has not went down to $385.

the mike hearn drama made the price fall to just over the $350 price level, and that's still the bottom for this year.
1555  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: March 26, 2016, 04:38:39 PM
Bitcoin in 2020,well i think by 2020 many user will be added to the list and the price will be high and most big companies will be accepting bitcoin.

I hope the same as you mention.
It is possible, with some good news on TV or so. More publicity and more companies that use bitcoin. The price can go up very much than.

good news has barely any effect on the price nowadays. beside that, the media is doing its best to make bitcoin look bad with only publishing bad articles and telling that bitcoin is only being used in the deep web to buy drugs and weapons. it doesn't have an impact on experienced bitcoiners, but it does impact the average joe. they get brainwashed very easily by the media. that's the whole problem.
1556  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: March 26, 2016, 04:32:31 PM
I'd say that yes, it matters, because if the price reach an all-time high and is stable, you can be sure that we will have a big media attention !

that's just one aspect out of many. but it has a huge impact on the price, and miners and traders, and holders will benefit from it directly. after the media attention new people will make sure the price goes up, and that will trigger people to secure their profits. just look at what happened with mtgox. the media attention made the price surge to an all time high. all the people that bought back then are now waiting to see the price go back to the +$1000 levels as they bought at the peak.
1557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will go up this week on: March 26, 2016, 03:24:29 PM
i think we'll see the price stay in the current range of $410 to $420 for another week. i can't see any indications of why the price will go up next week. my guess is that we'll see the market starts moving a month before the actual block halving. till that time it will most likely remain the same.

Maybe for a few weeks for the price to be in the $400 - $450 range.

the price may indeed stay at these levels for a few weeks, but eventually we will get some action back in the market. but i have to say that i like this stability. if the price will also remain stable like this at $500 and higher, then it will get even better for the most people here.

1559  Other / Off-topic / Re: When is Bitcoins going to die? on: March 26, 2016, 02:14:43 PM
the only way that bitcoin can die IMO is if some kind of serious flaw is found in the code that makes it vulnerable and unfixable.

bitcoin is open source, which basically means that everything can be implemented to fix flaws. beside that, bitcoin will only die when there is no internet, or when there is no power anymore in the world. but all these things can be solved in a quick fashion which will make bitcoin only "die" for a very short time.
1560  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Remains Most Popular Digital Currency on Dark Web on: March 26, 2016, 02:05:32 PM
It's a known fact and we also can't deny the fact that the Darkweb in general give a boost for Bitcoin price . (Silk road for example)
I am aware through some comments of people that Darkweb is helpful to boost price for bitcoins
because of bitcoin's anonymity. Some might think that it's good to use on dark web and I'm not amazed with that as well but my only concern is about the legality and price of bitcoin and I do agree with those friends as well. I am scared only that this issue might not make bitcoins closed or banned or such type of similar stuff Huh

Nah bitcoin wont get banned by the people doing on dark web, bitcoin is not the only currency that is being used in dark web fiats is still being used there.

fiat in the form of prepaid debit cards are also being used to purchase drugs or other illegal stuff. but it's always bitcoin that is blamed for all things that happen on the dark net. this only shows that bitcoin is growing throughout the entire internet. governments don't like seeing bitcoin grow as they see it is some sort of a threat to their economy. they just use the dark web as reason to blame bitcoin for being the currency of the underworld. the real motive behind this is completely different. and that is pushing bitcoin back.
