981  Economy / Speculation / Re: $652 - my laptop just exploded! on: June 12, 2016, 01:50:47 PM
$652 on CoinMarketCap!  Shocked

I remember all those bears saying "halving was already priced in" when we were at $440...

well, the price keeps surprising us at the moment. i thought $600 would be somewhat of a top for the block halving, but we're still increasing. let the $700 come!
982  Economy / Speculation / Re: how much gonna be 1 BTC in a year? on: June 12, 2016, 01:27:54 PM
I think it is reasonable to expect Bitcoin to end up at somewhere close to $800 in a year from now, a lot of it depends on the halving and the economic fallout from it though. There aren't many historical charts for Bitcoin that can be applied to the halving this time around, primarily because of the number of big players within the market having increased and the community is much larger now than it has been in the past.

We won't know what the price of Bitcoin will be until we get there though, so we'll never know what'll happen I guess.

Predicting anything related to the price of bitcoin is impossible but hoping for the best we might see the price of above $1k in one year as price has started to rise now.

after looking at the current pricing strategy of bitcoin, now everyone is sure that bitcoin will reach to $1000 very sooner and after that we will see a more increase in its price till the end of the year,

i still find $1000 to be a very difficult price target to reach within the current year, but with the recent price increase the chances of seeing $1000 this year are getting higher and higher. i firstly thought it was impossible this year, but i switched from impossible to very difficult. it's a bit more optimistic.
983  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will reach $4000 after halving ? on: June 12, 2016, 01:03:49 PM
Too high for bitcoin to reached that price,we will need more 30 years to get that price,,for now speculators said that it will only 900$ at the end of this year.
i doubt that we will have to wait that long right now because the price is going up significantly

in my opinion this price might be reached in something like 1 or 2 years if the bticoin becomes popular
Yeah youre right, with this happening right now on bitcoin, i can say that 4000$ can achieved after 4 years or maybe less than 4 years..bitcoin can climbed +100 per day.

it's great and everything to have a fantasy about such high prices. but right now it's better to focus on reaching $1000 first, and then $2000, and then $3000, and then $4000. i personally can't see the price reach $4000 in 4 years. it means that the price must increase with around $800 per year from the current price level. not every year will bring growth.
984  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: June 12, 2016, 12:40:05 PM
OP, it was around $240 in Oct 2015. If you bought and kept bitcoins, congrats. Smiley
I wonder if he really bought 1, even if he bought that would still not effect him that much because that was only 1 BTC

that, and maybe he sold what he bought at the price back then when the price touched $300. people easily get tempted to sell when they see they made 10-20% profit.
985  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: June 12, 2016, 12:33:01 PM
I need to be part of this thread so...

PS: Of course i'm hodling!

I hold the bitcoin and also use some. Holding can reduce the selling pressure of the coin. Usage can help the circulation.

That is a good idea. I think I will do the same. I will only sell when the bitcoin price is very very overvalued.

But it is very difficult to know when the price is overvalued. Maybe when the price rises 5 times in two months, it is over valued.
The price that you are dreaming is impossible to happen in 5 months.. and i think the possible will happen right the price will increase only x2 this is i think the best speculation.... if bitcoin will be more demand in the future.. the price will increase not times 5 maybe above $1k value..

Kind of like how Bitcoin already went up over 5x from the $200s to $1100+ in a month?  You must be new here.  Welcome to Bitcoin!

yeah! even when things look impossible to achieve within a certain amount of time, bitcoin manages to surprise us each time by reaching prices where a lot people were thinking were impossible. that's why people holding their coins will benefit the most. it feels good to see the price increase and thus paying off my patience. fantastic!
986  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc about to break $10 billion market cap on: June 12, 2016, 12:24:23 PM
I hope that this market cap is real and not produced by some trading bots. bitcoin needs more users to secure its price from falling after the current high rise that did not stop yet

you mean like how mtgox bot willy made the price reach the current all time high? i hope not, but right now we are much further where the demand from china is getting bigger and bigger. beside that, we have now reached a market cap of $10,051,366,306 according to coinmarketcap.com.
987  Economy / Economics / Re: When do you buy Bitcoin ? on: June 11, 2016, 02:56:23 PM
For me i will buy bitcoin if the price will fall into $500 below then ill just keep it for long term and sell it for the right time. For now i do not buy because the price is not in my apetite

the price right now is indeed on the higher side. it's good that you make the decision to not buy. it shows that you have self control. some people just buy even when right now isn't the best time to buy. good to see that you don't have that problem. patience and dedication is the key to profit.
988  Economy / Speculation / Re: PANIC BUYING !!!!!!! on: June 11, 2016, 02:52:33 PM
All the time is good to buy bitcoin if you know you can gain profit when you buy, do not hesitate because bitcoin never loose your money but it will depend on you how to manage your bitcoin.

if you never sell, you won't make any losses. the problem with some people is that they just yolo buy at a certain price hoping to make some quick bucks. it doesn't work like that. yolo buying is basically the same as gambling. you just need some luck. and that's it.
989  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: June 11, 2016, 01:56:52 PM
has to be $2,500 or near that so what ever happens. All we need now is more businesses to use it and advertise on billboards, windows and make more trades with bitcoin to increase exposure.

in order to see the price increase significantly throughout the years, we need to have institutional investors to come on board. they have the money to make the price reach insanely high price levels. that's what we need in the coming years.
Yeah your right investors is the problem why price of bitcoin is increase or decrease.. but if we increase the adoption of bitcoin and more store are accepting bitcoin i'm sure the price will increase more in 2020 $2,500 value is easy if more store are accepting bitcoin.

bitcoin adoption is always a good thing, but merchants accepting bitcoin as form of payment will not do much for the price. at least that's how i think about it. some very large merchants have been accepting bitcoin lately as form of payment, but the price has not been affected much by that.
990  Economy / Speculation / Re: is it time to sell? on: June 11, 2016, 01:52:27 PM
To me it would depend on how much I bought my Bitcoins for so if you can make a profit right now by selling them, then it would not be a bad thing if you sold some coins right now.

if you bought your coins somewhere around the $400 price level, then surely it's a great moment to secure some of your profits. it would be sad if the price falls back to lower $400's while you could have sold at $580 like now. or work with stop loss orders if you know the risks of this feature.

I would like to suggest to hold the bitcoin for the longer term, say, 10 years. The price will rise a lot in the future.

i have already a good portion of my cold wallet reserved for at least 10 years. i believe in the future of bitcoin, so i will keep holding. in the meantime i have good fun making profits while trading. Smiley

That is very good action. I will also save some bitcoin for the long term. I might get a hardware wallet.

i find hardware wallets to be an unneeded expense. you can simply safe your private key as paper wallet. or you can store your wallet files into usb sticks which everyone has several from in home.

992  Economy / Economics / Re: Actually the bitcoin market is very small on: June 11, 2016, 12:56:40 PM
The market is small, which is why the growth potential is large.

Bitcoin is in the expansion phrase at the current moment.

when i look at the current market cap, i also see a good amount of future growth as the current market cap is low for the potential this piece of technology has. it gives us the opportunity to start accumulating as many coins as possible at current prices. long term holders who manage to hold their coins without selling them, will benefit the most. i hope to be one of them!
993  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin continuous rising? on: June 11, 2016, 12:25:11 PM
Well, I think the price of bitcoin will continuous rising until the halving come. The problem is after the halving, i mean, when all people not hype about halving. The bitcoin's price can goes down.

after the block halving it's done with the hype and speculation. as result the price will start to drop significantly. best is to use that situation to secure profits just before the block halving, and to buy back once the price goes down heavily.
994  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: June 10, 2016, 05:44:32 PM
bitcoin in 2020 will rely very heavily on fee because the reward will be very low, only 6.25 coins per block, so fee must be higher, and the price will be higher too, i mean fee in $ value will be higher not in satoshi, just to be clear

yup, fees will get more and more important. but if the price continues to go up from todays levels, to let's say $1500-$2000 in 2020, then miners will still get a decent amount for finding blocks. but at this point we don't have to worry about much higher fees yet.
995  Economy / Economics / Re: So BitCoin is at $520 right now... Sell or Keep for a few more days? on: June 10, 2016, 05:34:28 PM
Bitcoin is precisely $575 now which is way more than you have written. Do you still thing it is the best time to sell it off??

I would suggest you to hold your bitcoin for few more years instead if you don't have any immediate fund requirement. The game of bitcoin is not done yet. This price is just a showdown. Hold it for few more years if possible to see its actual magic and you will not regret. Mark my word!

i agree that holding your coins for several years is the best thing, but people securing profits at these prices doesn't mean they will run out of coins. smart people have a good amount of coins stashed up in their cold wallets that they will not touch before the price reaches certain high levels. i do this as well. holding is for the long term, and trading is just to gain some short term profits. i use the current volatility in my advantage to make profit.
996  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: June 10, 2016, 04:29:21 PM

you don't necessarily need to store them in your bank account, you can leave them in your house in a safe box underground, well hided, the same thing you will do with a paper wallet...

the problem with fiat is that you can't save them for long time without losing value, because of the fact that bank keeps printing those like mad childrens, you are obbligated to invest in something

bitcoin instead is already an investment, because it has a store of value property

the older generation like to store their money cash in their home, but the younger generation is all for the digital aspect of storing money. beside that, storing $1,000,000 cash money is completely different than storing a paper wallet with $1,000,000 worth of coins. it's much safer as you can hide a small piece of paper everywhere in your house where literally no one other than you can find it. a safe box is easy to spot. even if you hide it well enough. experienced criminals know exactly where to look.
997  Economy / Speculation / Re: If bitcoin dropped to $1, what you do? on: June 10, 2016, 02:26:44 PM
$1/BTC i will buy more and save it for the future.
Big income will be earn if that is happen
but that is impossible to happen

I will sell all my bitcoin when it drops to $300. The price of bitcoin should be more than that level if every thing is good.

so you think that when the price of bitcoin goes to $300 or even lower, that something is wrong with bitcoin? then what about the fact that we have seen sub $200 prices last year? you think something was wrong with bitcoin because the price went down that low?
998  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Estimate the minimum TX fee to get a tx into thr blocks 420,000 or 420,001! on: June 10, 2016, 02:22:19 PM
i was planning to include a fee of at least 0.02btc to get my fun tx included in the first 12.5btc block as i thought that would be cool, but i will not do it as i don't see the need for this. my guess is that people will throw with around 0.01-0.05btc to get themself included in the last 25btc and/or the first 12.5btc block.
999  Economy / Speculation / Re: 440$ reached on: June 10, 2016, 12:24:24 PM
bitcoin to 1000  dolllars seems possible!

yeah and this will happen soon, if we double again we can reach the last ath, it's not that ahrd to double for bitcoin i think, just remember when bitcoin in the past increased by ten fold! or more, doubling is very easy for bitcoin imho
Historical performance cannot be used as indication of what's going to happen in the future. A lot of things can happen that could either double the price or slice it in half. We should be ready for either scenario and know when to buy, sell or hold. I am thinking that the price is going to stabilize at $700 by the end of the year. That would be about 5 months removed from the halving.

some people indeed spend a lot of their time reviewing historical charts and compare them to the charts from today to come up with predictions. i find that quite pointless as history doesn't always repeat itself. best is to keep a good portion of your coins for holding purposes, and the other part for trading. that allows you to benefit whether the price goes up or down. it's basically a win win if you know what you are doing.
