1101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Often Do You Check Your Bitcoin Wallet Balance? on: May 27, 2016, 02:05:59 PM
i check my cold wallets maybe one or two times per month. i have a round number of coins in my wallet so it is easy for me to know the total value.
1102  Economy / Speculation / Re: Everyday where the price hasn't exploded to the moon yet is celebration day on: May 27, 2016, 01:59:45 PM
The price is $478 now. It is going up very fast, about 5% in a day. So there is a possibility the price will go even higher.
The price has gone up a bit too fast if you ask me.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see the price fall back to below $460 again as there is barely any support at these levels.

We will see some correction that's for sure.
Question is when it will happen.I hope we will continue climbing until the end of the week and correct down to 460-470 as the new bottom. And maybe with a bit of luck we will see the $500 before halving. That would be awesome.

the thing is that china is currently over $500 now and other exchanges are quite behind. if chinese exchanges stay above $500 then other exchanges will come around $10 to maybe $15 closer to china as they are more than $20 behind at the moment. if china falls back to let's say $480 then other exchanges will dip down another $10 to $20. i am already happy if we can see the price stay above $450.
1103  Economy / Speculation / Re: Boring times ahead: $450 until end of June on: May 27, 2016, 01:54:04 PM
I guess it's all right now indisputable. bitcoin prices are currently rising, and this may rise today is quite high, probably around $ 20, well if this continues, I think this will no longer be boring

the current price increase will only last if it gets supported. we will really know if this will last once we are a few days away from now. at least this price boost is a very welcome form of market action for traders. no one can say that this is boring.
1104  Economy / Speculation / Re: Back to $ 400 soon? on: May 27, 2016, 01:50:17 PM
I think now in this time bitcoins price go up more because now halving is coming and it is more helpful for bitcoins for increasing the price but after halving bitcoin will come in his own price, so be careful and use you sense how to use or save it.

The bitcoin has tested the price around the $430 range for a few times, it is a solid bottom. So the price will rise a lot.

Yeah as mentioned the value around $400-$450 might become a solid bottom if the price seems to grow high and continue with gradual rise after the days of halving.

If the price stays around $450 for a few more months, this will be a very solid bottom, like $250 last year.

the price in 2015 was sailing below $250 for quite some time, so i'm not really sure what makes you think that the $250 price level was a very solid bottom...

I don't think we  willl see the price of $250 again, price is going up now and I don't see it falling down in next couple of months.

i didn't say the price will fall down again. i just wanted to say that the $250 price level wasn't a bottom at all back in 2015. that's all.
1105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will this rise hold? on: May 27, 2016, 01:46:36 PM
it's an unexpected price increase for sure. exchange price in china has gone over $500 while non chinese exchanges are still at least $20 behind. i wonder if they will catch up within 24 hours if the price doesn't go down again.
1106  Economy / Economics / Re: Why You Should Never Sell Your Bitcoins Ever on: May 26, 2016, 06:33:04 PM
I think that waiting for something and not being sure in sucsess is not so good, and better to sell you coins when the time is right, halving will be the right time.

i also believe that a few days before the block halving is a great time to short bitcoin as i believe the price will start tanking heavily once the block halving is done. i am realistic enough to know that the price will not increase with more than $100 from todays price levels. my guess is a high of $550 if there is enough panic buying.
1107  Economy / Speculation / Re: 7/18/16 Bitcoin will rise up to 2000$ on: May 26, 2016, 06:29:07 PM
another dreamer... there is really no point in thinking about anything higher than $600 for this year while we haven't even broken the $500 price level yet. once we have gone through $500 then start thinking about reaching $600, and when we have gone through $600 you can start thinking about $700.
1108  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: May 26, 2016, 06:24:39 PM
I really doubt if the 800 dollar can be reached but maybe with the halving that is coming its possible this year.
I hope it will happen but this is of course still the question.

don't make yourself waiting for something that won't happen this year. it's too much just to happen in such a short time. i think if we reach $500 and manage to stay above that price level for the rest of the year, then that's a great achievement. more can we not ask for.

And now <drumroll> you can put your money where your mouth is:

https://bitbet.us/bet/1272/bitcoin-to-top-1000-usd-before-january-2017/

i don't do gambling. my profit will come from shorting bitcoin somwhere around the $500 price level and buying back at lower levels. my guess is that it will happen a few days before the block halving.
1109  Economy / Speculation / Re: It is Buy time! on: May 26, 2016, 04:52:01 PM
I would definitely say that it is time to buy, the value just keeps going up and is consistently resilient even when there is a dip in the value. There is simply no way to keep the price down without extended manipulation or increased and constant bad news.

If I still had some money floating around I'd be buying up a good chunk of Bitcoin right about now, it seems like the value really can only go up.

don't get tricked into thinking the value can only go up. bitcoin has shown us that the price can also go down heavily several times. that's why i never get surprised. i know what the bitcoin price can do.
1110  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: May 26, 2016, 04:40:49 PM

1111  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price going back to $250??? on: May 26, 2016, 04:37:43 PM
Well, if the price of bitcoin back at a price of $ 250, I think will be very many people who would buy it. it is most likely to occur.
If the price goes down back to 250 it will rise again back because the price is very cheap and i know more people are already know bitcoin.. and more store are accepting bitcoin as payment just like steam and garena.. they are now accepting bitcoin as payment so its impossible that the price of bitcoin will reach the lowest price of bitcoins..

stores accepting bitcoin doesn't mean the price will go up to very high price levels. stores that do accept bitcoin as form of payment have some sort of a middle man as bitpay handling their transactions. bitpay converts the bitcoin payments into fiat and send the money to the merchants. that's how it goes.
I think store accepts bitcoin as payment can help to increase the value of bitcoin because they can attract people to use bitcoin.. if people know about bitcoin and how it works.. more people are buying bitcoin to use it in store or to hold for a long time..  yeah we know some store are convert their bitcoin from bitpay but if they know why they are holding and buying bitcoin instead of spending their bitcoin better to hold it for a long time..

it will surely help to a certain extend that merchants accept bitcoin, but the impact on the price is very minimal. in order to see the price get a real boost we will need to attract high level traders with enough money to buy themselves at least 500 coins. that's when you'll get to see the price increase with good numbers in the future.
1112  Economy / Economics / Re: Does the Price of Bitcoin Matter? on: May 25, 2016, 01:07:45 PM
I buy when price is lower and sell when its higher, so price really matters for me and I am sure everyone is doing the same, price matters to everyone.

Yeah that's right, nothing will circulate in the market if there is no price or value of bitcoin. And if bitcoin doesn't have value it will just be totally
dumped.

Just like the altcoins that are created for just a scam opportunity. There are a lot out there with a good price then go back to the lowest it can be. Next is what would you know it is all forgotten.

I don't think alt coins are create for just a scam opportunity. Maybe the developers of it are just inspired just like the success of bitcoin.
But also the thing is, exchanging sites maybe considered it also like that.
Altcoins has a bad name of the community due to some developers whose main purpose is just to scam the investors, but this year is different, we see some improvement from one of the altcoins like Etherium who has a good value today. We should be very positive if you are also investing in altcoins because there can never be only one coin in the future, people want to have more for them to choose base on their comfort in using it.

I don't have faith  in altcoins and I am also not sure what is its future or how long it will survive, etherum looks to have an good potential, but I will prefer to continue with bitcoin.

altcoins come and go. there are indeed certain altcoins with certain features that bitcoin doesn't have, but they mostly are gimmicks that are cool to name up when explaining it to people, but it doesn't add anything to the usage of that coin. bitcoin is the only way to go.
1113  Economy / Economics / Re: When do you buy Bitcoin ? on: May 25, 2016, 12:58:43 PM
I just buy bitcoin randomly as I see fit.

Well as long as you  can see you are able to fit and buy bitcoins price at the time and then that is the
right time to buy bitcoin. But there are also circumstances that you need to buy bitcoin for emergency
purposes so, yeah it depends if you see it fit.

If you are comfortable and satisfied with the price then without thinking twice you should buy bitcoin, as anything buying before halving can be profitable.

halving or not. anything below the $500 price level is a good buy for people that haven't bought already, or if they are not satisfied with the amount of coins that they have yet.
1114  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10k???? on: May 25, 2016, 12:55:46 PM
This would be great but in reality this is impossible as of the moment. Im okay seeing the price stable in $1k-$2k range. If that prediction happen, for sure it would be really hard to earn btc by that time.

Yeah and I also think if price goes that higher then we won't have an opportunity to earn from signature campaign, as they might shut down their campaign.

signature campaigns are an interesting form of advertising for services and companies. they will continue to exist as long as the forum rules allow it. higher price of bitcoin will only result in lower signature campaign earnings, that's it.

Yeah campaigns will continue to move on even if bitcoin price goes higher, but there will be sure change in payouts as they will reduce the rates for sure.
The chance is not that high that you can make such a high profit with the Bitcoin and that is the problem and nobody will also now what is going to happen with the value.
And when the value is going to rise so that is the problem and that have to rise soon we all waited already a long time.
I agree we are now 5 months in to 2016 and we have seen no sign yet of the price being 10k per bitcoin. It is just not going to happen this year.
Maybe next year the chances of that happening are greater.

do you even know what you are saying? of course there are no signs of seeing $10,000 prices this year. there are even no signs of seeing $1000 this year...
1115  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin rise up to 800$ this year ? on: May 25, 2016, 12:06:38 PM
No that will not happen I think and that is because it needs time to rise and as you can see now you see also that the value is rising slowly so it will maybe in the end of the year reach the $500 I think.
And maybe we can make profit in the end of the next year so we need to wait a longer time but patience is important.
I believe we will get to see the price reach $500 slightly before the block halving and after that the price will jump below and above that price point for the rest of the year.
Yes very true and I am confident for this year or next year bitcoin will reach the price of $ 800. Because now bitcoin was highly developed and that I believe affects the price of bitcoin itself.

Looking at the price stability at this stage I don't think bitcoin will go high that much in this year, even halving can take it maximum to $600, not more then that.

after halving I think the prices will not immediately increase. there would likely be a dump too. and I agree 500-600 is a realistic price reached this year

people expect too much from the block halving in juli. one says the price will reach $700, the other says it will even reach $1000... the only outcome is that a lot people will get very disappointed and start dumping as result. if whales want to use that situation in their advantage, they might even follow up with massive dumps to sink the price even more, just to make the entire market go into panic selling mode.
1116  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: May 25, 2016, 12:00:45 PM
I am also holding for the future in the hope that the price is going to be higher then we have ever seen. I am then going to sell all my coins at once and then I am just going to stop with Bitcoin forever.
It's your choice of course if you want to quit Bitcoin at some point in the future when the price reached a very high price point but you can always use Bitcoin as currency or simply as store of wealth if you don't want to invest anymore.

And I'm quite sure that by that time you will think completely different about selling all your coins at once and stopping with Bitcoin completely. Not many people have managed to quit as they nearly always come back.

Once you start using bitcoin its really difficult to get rid of it, and I am sure no one can quit it so easily, and pretty sure that no one will sell all their coins at once, will save some hoping for best price in future.

i personally know 2 friends who have said to never use bitcoin again. they got mad because they bought at the top back in 2013 and kept seeing the value of their investment go down and down. both have bought back in 2015 and are using bitcoin as currency now. and that while they promised to never ever come back. Cheesy
1117  Economy / Speculation / Re: I think the price will rise again above $400 on: May 25, 2016, 11:31:16 AM
The price is now above $400 and we have waited a long time for this to finally happen. The price was stable for some time and that as not the best time I had with Bitcoin. So I am happy that the price is moving up.
I think the current price of bitcoin really steady above $ 400 though sometimes increases and decreases a bit, but we always hoped that someday bitcoin prices are above $ 500

If there is no big bad news about bitcoin, the bitcoin price should be around $500 in the July to August.

we haven't seen any really bad news lately beside cryptsy shutting down because of a huge "theft". all other reasons of why the price went down significantly were pure nonsense. just look at the craig wright fool saying he is satoshi, and after that the price started to tank. that's no bad news. that's fud where some dumb people apparantly have been falling for.
1118  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: May 25, 2016, 11:16:35 AM
I saved around the 6 bitcoins for the future of this year, I'm holding them now and look at the end of this year if I'm gonna sell them.
The halving will maybe good but this is not to predict honestly.
6 bitcoins is already a big money for me cause i have only 0.5 , got them almost 1 and half year on bitcoin world and im still collecting to make it 1 btc

There are 800,000 forum members in the BitcoinTalk. If 10% of them is active and everybody own 10 bitcoin, that is 800,000 bitcoins.
The majority of the people already struggle with accumulating .5-1BTC as that alone have cost them a lot time to save up, so I'm not really sure how you come up with 10BTC.

it's most likely some one with too much time making himself happy with thinking that so many people own a fairly large amount at these prices. the higher the price goes, the less people are able to collect and earn. 1btc is a more than decent amount for the average bitcoiner.
1119  Economy / Economics / Re: Actually the bitcoin market is very small on: May 25, 2016, 11:10:18 AM
I think the question to ask is "small in comparison to what ?"

it's all relative...

people tend to compare the market cap of bitcoin with the market cap of gold or the us dollar. then yes, it's surely very small. they don't realize that there are currently more than 15.5 million bitcoins in circulation and that only 5% of that amount can already do a lot damage when brought to the market at once. they just look at the $7 billion figure and say it's low. they don't look further.
1120  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Investments on: May 24, 2016, 09:01:56 PM
Best investment is sell some dayis before Halving and Rebuy after some weeks at lower price.

that's actually also what i have in mind for the upcoming block halving. i will sell 1 or 2 days before the block halving as i believe in these days the highest point will be reached. once the block halving has taken place i expect huge dumps to tank the price down heavily. i will surely buy back at much lower price levels.
