1981  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio - Shipping from stock on: June 02, 2014, 11:27:07 AM
Whats not clear really in the checkout process is if you have to pay for shipping if you are hosting there. So in that instance I would email sales@ and they will probably send you a discount code for the shipping cost to add to the cart before checkout, and just make sure to put all the hosting info in the notes.

If you choose the hosting package, you just select the 'free shipping' option then it doesn't charge you.

Cheers, yes just saw that, you have to add the hosting from the drop down list on the SP10 buy page. I was adding it as a separate item DOH Smiley

Interestingly if you do that it doesn't even give you a shipping option, just "Free shipping" only.

Hi there.

If I purchased an SP10 + 3 month hosting - what is the lead time in getting that installed and up and running for me?

Also I couldn't find a shipping estimator on the website - if I just wanted it to be shipped to the UK what would be the approximate cost and lead time for this?

Cheers

Dave

Hosting, I think it took under 48 hours to be up and hashing.

$193 to ship to the UK, you have to go through the checkout process to get the shipping price, it gives it to you before you complete.

^^ A case of Stockholm Syndrome perhaps?

I have no current orders with KnC Tongue and you KNOW I buy from nearly all the manufacturers.  Roll Eyes

IMHO

There is nothing "humble" about your reply but it does smack of ignorance and arrogance.
Bitcoin difficulty is not slowing down and KNC has missed 100% of it's delivery dates so far and it doesn't look as though they plan to make the Neptune delivery stick the landing either.
Don't fool yourself - they've done a lot of things wrong.

Honest/Humble, mine is as much as anyone elses. Get off your high horse Tongue

They missed their October delivery by a few days ffs, oh heavens to betsy, lets string them up. Neptune I don't give a shit about its too late even if it is on schedule.

Regarding difficulty, I never said its not stopped increasing, I said its actually slowing down.

Difficulty has slowed down, look at the numbers, the % increases went from 30-40% in late 2013 and slowly tapered down between 10%-14% in April-May 2014.

And the daily computational growth of the network overall has been slowing down even more drastically. http://bitcoin.sipa.be/growth.png

remember kids... no need for 8 VRMS!!!   it is overkill..  totally excess and will never be used

I had two a 4 VRM Jupiter that worked and fine and is still going strong according to the guy I sold it to, clocked to 640GH and ran at that speed 24/7 from the day I bought it.

I still have one November Jupiter thats hashing at over 830GH/s in the summer heat and doesn't skip a beat. Smiley

1987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: June 01, 2014, 10:58:47 PM
I wonder how much PH in total Sales KnC did.

Including all Jupiter grade and Neptune grade gear. Not delivered, sold.

"We will not mine with more than 5% of the hash rate we sell"

I came up with a good guesstimate of how many October & November units they shipped:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170332.msg6002935;topicseen#msg6002935

Roughly 12000 Jupiters (using 600GH as an average hashrate between Oct & Nov units) ~= 7Petahash

They sold 3600 Neptunes. But with refunds it's hard to believe there are more than half still holding their order. Throw in a handful of broken Frankenjups and let's say it's the equivalent of 2000 Neptunes

Roughly 2000 Neptunes ~= 6Petahash

They are reported hashing ~6-8 Petahash @ Boden.

So they are easily mining with 50% of the entire hashrate they SOLD. They are probably mining with 100% the hashrate they have previously SHIPPED.

Either way, they are 100% liars and guilty of fraud and mispresentation*, i.e. knc's business is criminal.

(*Misrepresentation is a concept in contract law referring to a false statement of fact made by one party to another party, which has the effect of inducing that party into the contract. For example, under certain circumstances, false statements or promises made by a seller of goods regarding the quality or nature of the product that the seller has may constitute misrepresentation. )

Ah but its nothing to do with shipped, its specifically "sold".

Do we really know what they sold, we don't know what was sold to big cloud farms or private farms etc, whats not disclosed, hell even the full number of publicly sold miners isn't really known.

So your rough, back of a napkin guestimate could be a way far of the mark, no-one really knows.

8 PH + 10.8PH of known sales is what, near 20PH or nearer 30PH if you take into account the 6TH Neptune is. So 20% of the "known" hash rate

And their mining hasnt really affected much in the way of the value or difficulty of bitcoin if you look at the data, difficulty is slowing down long term, and the price is going up again.

You got a slightly slower,  miner than the vast majority of people sure, it soured your experience, its understandable you would be bitter, but you gotta get off the hobby horse man it'll chew you up inside. All this venom and bile over something that doesn't really affect you. I know, I know, you want to be the one to say "I took down KnC" "Without me you would all be worse off"

The only thing KnC has done wrong so far is screwed up the Frankenjupe packing and shipping, which was a disaster. (Mind you their packaging prowess has always been borderline rubbish) and they are just too late to the game with Neptune. At least they are paying out (albeit slowly) refunds. And people are then free to get whatever they want with their spondoolies (joke) Smiley

But to paint them as "OMG@!@!!! 100% liars and guilty of massive fraud, and scammers, mommy!" is just bull.

I have one of these 800GH miners coming hopefully. Paid 27th.

Seeing from those pictures miner has 2x 8pin CPU connectors rather than 8pin PCI-Express connectors. Need to find cables for that. You can only get 1x 8-pins from single ATX-psu.
Adaptors from 6/8pins PCI-e connectors to 8pin CPU connectors would be sweet.

6/8pin PCI-e connectors can be stuffed to 8pin CPU connectors if you put it wrong way for + - to match. I think.

What is a group buy? I've never done one and always thought everyone would chip in the same amount of money for how ever many rigs you are buying then host them somewhere and then split the rewards.  Is that close?

You are right or it can be seen as a wholesale for a larger number of units shipped to customers.

so this GB will end 5th june until now only 1 confirmed order.
i am interested too, now keep eye on this thread.

I think if these came out at the same time as the SP30's then this group buy would be full already.

Or if they were substantially cheaper for coming out 1 month after the August SP30 then it would be a goer.

e.g. the September SP30 is $5095, ergo the SP15 should be circa $2500 not $2800

1993  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: New Bitmain miner on: June 01, 2014, 12:13:31 PM
As they note on that page, it allows future upgrading of boards?
Might be a good way to future-proof.

"All AntMiner S2 and S2 kit will be adapted to the Hash Boards with next generation chips. Clients can freely choose the upgrade version Hash Boards to replace the ones in hands."

I am not sure how to decipher this. Will customers need to purchase upgraded versions?

Means that they will be releasing new boards to fit the S2 rigs and S2 kits. They will just slot into the pci slots that are on the backplane.

ETA around July/August

You will need to buy these new boards and fit them yourself.
1994  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Antminer s2 kit on: June 01, 2014, 10:17:44 AM
I noticed today that Antminer is now selling an s2 "kit".

Surely the kit will cut down on their shipping cost and labor time for assembly.

I am curious how the market feels about having to build your own box.

What sort of PSU would you use and do you plan on installing the kit into a case as well?

Probably get more replies if you post in the Hardware forum in the relevent thread.
1995  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] FOR SALE: TERRAMINERS / DRAGONS / COINCRAFT DESKS 1,6$/GH on: June 01, 2014, 10:15:36 AM
If these prices were all inclusive (VAT & delivery) then they would be worth it, and I'd be jumping all over it.

But if you add VAT and delivery to the cost they cost more than if you bought them from the original sellers in China/US Sad

Given that you would have paid way UNDER the RRP for all of your hardware you are just ripping people off with these prices.
1996  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: PSU on: May 31, 2014, 11:01:54 PM
Is this PSU good enough to power a overclocked antminerS1?

http://www.ncix.com/detail/coolmax-500w-atx-power-supply-6f-56481.htm

No, you would need a 600W minimum with a single 12V rail

Just so its clear for my addled old brain. Smiley

Could you give an idea how much it would cost to host a Spondoolies-tech SP10?

Thats: 1.25U @ 1350W

Including all relevant taxes etc.

Thanks

Hello There,

1.25u we could do for £25 per month for the rack space, covers cooling, internet and general costs.

The Electricity is 18p per Kwh the UK average. This would work out to £5.83 per day, £177.32 per month.

These prices would be pre paid for 6 months.

Regards,

Oof! nearly $300 pcm

You should be able to get better electric rates than that, you can get 9.96p per Kwh from Opus

Ok I got permission from the owner of the spreadsheet. Und3rd0g gets credit altho he also derived this from bitmain's version. Pretty impressive IMO.

+1 - Glad to help where I can.  I hope folks find this useful.  As noted, the original was put together by BITMAIN and significantly enhanced over time.  If anyone has questions as to how to operate/update, feel free to PM me.

Or you could use this: Retroactive BTC Mining Calculator

How is that AWESOME???

Its not
2000  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [immediate delivery]3.5BTC for 1T BTC miner with shipping via UPS/DHL on: May 30, 2014, 10:50:37 AM
Too expensive, 3.5BTC is over $2100

If you are going to price in BTC you need to match $1900-2000 for the Dragon with the LCD screen, for the one without you are looking more at $1600-1800 price point. Especially for a newcomer
