21  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the "empty space" in an atom? on: April 22, 2014, 03:31:17 PM
This "empty space" idea is a holdover from scattering experiments performed during the dawn of the 20th century. Most of the space in an atom is composed by the probability distribution of the electrons in the atom.

These experiments, if I am thinking of the same ones you are, more properly explain that most of the atom is "not the nucleus", not that most of the atom is "empty space". Of course, they still teach the Bohr model in schools, so it is no surprise that people get confused even after taking "some chemistry".
22  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the "empty space" in an atom? on: April 22, 2014, 03:00:05 PM
I've taken a bit of chemistry in my life, but something that's always confused me has been the idea of empty space in an atom. I understand the layout of the atom and how its almost entirely "empty space". But when I think of "empty space" I think of air, which is obviously comprised of atoms. So is the empty space in an atom filled with smaller atoms? If I take it a step further, the truest "empty space" I know of is a vacuum. So is the empty space of an atom actually a vacuum?

There are no empty spaces in atoms. There is the nucleus at the middle, and electrons surrounding the nucleus. It sounds like you are thinking of electrons as particles, that will lead you into misconceptions of atomic phenomena. The electrons form standing waves around the nucleus.

Does this company not give monthly or quarterly reports? How is an investor supposed to know what is going on? Looks like it has been a scam all along.

So ... what were all those bitcoins spent on in the expenses? Hookers and blow?
26  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC] BitVPS on: April 12, 2014, 12:42:26 PM
Instead of basing the repayment on the result of november and december, you should publish results from January, February and March and base the repayment on the total profit, not just the dividend, since some of the profit was reinvested back into the company.
27  Economy / Securities / Re: [HAVELOCK] (HIF) Havelock Investments Fund on: April 12, 2014, 12:39:41 PM
Lots of good questions in this thread, I hope Havelock answers them, else the share price will continue to tank. But what do they care, they already got the investor money? However, if the questions are not addressed, people will remove their capital from the platform and all funds listed there will suffer.

Any way to get the manager for HMF to assume responsibility for communicating with HIF investors?HuhHuh??  We would all be better off.

I hear MPOE-PR is out a job, she has experience communicating with investors   Grin

Why is the report in this weird landscape format, like it was made in powerpoint?

P&L is a good start, but why no balance sheet?

Report should be out tomorrow at the latest!

CPA doing a final review at the moment.

Thank you for your patience.

Havelock Investments

I thought the deadline was the 10th? Which means it should be out today!

Calculating purely from the dividends is bullshit. They were not paying out all profit as dividends, they were re-investing to grow the business. The buyout should be calculated from the assets the company has, plus the estimated upcoming dividends.

PS: Make sure you check your spam folder if you don't see the email in your inbox.

It used to be a sticky, I am not sure why it was removed, that taking out small loans to gain rep before getting bigger loans is a bad way of doing things.

Why don't you stop pretending with the whole loan thing, just come out and say what you want. "I will pay you X btc to give me good feedback and trust rating".

I don't like to scare off newbies, but what you are doing is shady and gives you worse trust than doing nothing at all.

Edit: There, now you no longer have "no reputation". You're welcome.
So long he pay collateral is absolute 0 risk to give him a loan.

The point I am making is not that these are high risk loans, the point is that he is buying rep, the action itself is bad.

Go ahead and take his money, that is fine. But I would not give him any positive trust just because he gave you some free money.

The big thing is fundraising enough money to get enough properties to build enough monthly cashflow so we can try to lever via a local lender. This is the goal and if we can do it then we'll see exponential growth in the fund. If we don't, we'll trudge along at 13%-20% APY on the properties we have. Not ideal but not bad at all considering how terrible the bitcoin & bitcoin stock market has been the past 2-3 months.

How much do the local lenders want you to have before they give you loans? Have they give you any feedback (to get this loan you would need X income), or do they just say "no, you don't make enough"?

Who are you? It has been shown over and over again that having an anonymous business owner does not work for investors.

Danny's latest statement:

Quote
So this thread has gotten out of hand and will be locked following this post.

My recent silence has been forced due to the actions of two people, one of which has been posting on here thinking they know me and have the inside knowledge about my life which is largely false and they really should obtain some better sources, however those posts had much wider ramifications than they probably assumed they would have, so I hold them partially responsible for what has occurred since their posts.

I left Cyprus on a short term temporary basis for reasons that will follow, I haven't shipped anything from Cyprus and I certainly haven't run away with company or peoples money or bitcoins. Following those posts on the forum, I received direct threats targeted directly at my daughter, they have been reported to the relevant authorities, Once those threats were made I took the advice to remain outside of Cyprus and remove contact with anyone that could be responsible for the threats, this included not speaking with members of staff that could be responsible.

My reasons for leaving was to raise additional capital for the business through the sale of my equity as we had run out of liquidity, I had exhausted all of my own liquidity too through directors loans to the company. Every single Bitcoin raised and spent is accounted for, any claims of embezzlement are nothing but empty claims with no foundation. There were coins lost in BitFunder/WeExchange which I personally covered and assumed that debt of 1420BTC to ensure the company could continue unaffected, UKYO also owes me an additional 260BTC separately from the 1420BTC. I also have 369.8BTC of my own Bitcoin stuck with MtGox that would have been given to the company to settle all creditors and continue operations whilst more capital was raised. Having funds on MtGox was a personal risk that I assumed and no company funds were ever held on there.

My original plan was to raise more capital to allow the company to achieve its potential through the sale of some of my equity. The moment threats were made towards my daughter this plan changed and I decided I would sell all of my equity, allowing the new owner to appoint a new CEO.

The whole process will be completed and handled through an agency that specializes in these matters, once the final details are completed, the agency details will be made available to interested parties who wish to purchase 100% of my equity in LMB Subsidiaries Ltd thus taking full control of all subsidiaries. I shall also be providing the new owner full rights over the Bitcoin debts currently owed by BitFunder/WeExchange as I know people are working on a solution to recovering those debts for everyone that has funds stuck there. This process will also write off all directors loans I have made to the company and I shall not receive any financial compensation through this sale process.

My biggest mistake was using BitFunder/WeExchange during the initial stages of fund raising, had I not had to cover those losses my pockets would have been deep enough to cover all creditors and OPEX for the foreseeable future allowing the company to achieve a positive cash flow during that period, the choice was one made by myself and for that I am responsible for that decision. I am working towards having this entire process completed within a short period of time to enable the business to recover, to ensure that those invested do not lose out following this process.

So, my questions still remain:

Are we going to get financial statements?
Please explain what exactly happened with the unsold shares?

...and why were they were given away for free?....

source? or did you just add that in for effect?

Look at the first post, LMB susidiaries gets 40% of the shares. But in the latest prospectus they have more like 60% of the shares, basically they were given all the unsold shares, I wonder if they paid for them?

Has a company ever had to pay for their own unsold shares during IPO?

You seem to misunderstand the structure you are defending. There are two separate entities being discussed here. LMB Subsidiaries (Sub) which is controlled by Danny, and LMB Holdings (Hold) which is what was selling the shares. In the beginning, Sub was going to get 40% of the company Hold, the other 60% of Hold was for sale to the public. The shares being sold were for equity in Hold. But not all of the shares sold. Those shares should have been retained by Hold, and they would not receive dividends. Instead, all those unsold shares were handed over to Sub, for free (unless they paid for them, which was my original question).

I am still waiting for an explaination as to what happened to the unsold shares, and why were they were given away for free?

When will the financial report come out? I stand by my statement, if there is no financial report within the first ten days of April then I will sell off all my shares.

I am disappointed that the only statement we have gotten is a second hand remark from a news source nobody has heard of, it would be much better if some sort of statement came through an official channel.

I am quite interested to see what the first financial report will look like.

Is there any specific regulation forbidding market manipulation on Havelock?  Is it a Havelock rule?  It is a panama rule?  I mean, I get the common sense idea that market manipulation isn't allow... and I haven't looked into this so I don't know, but is there really anything forbidding market manipulation here?

Exactly

and what the hell the   'Xfr' feature (on Havelock)  is for  anyway?

Transfer is to move shares between accounts.  Havelock forbids email changes, so you actually have to sign up for a new account to change the email.  Then you need a way to transfer your own shares to yourself.  It's also useful in a private sale if you know and trust your customer.  You could avoid havelock fees in that case, but not sure it's worth the extra trouble.

Trading is frozen on Havelock right now, but can we still transfer shares between accounts?
