861  Economy / Digital goods / Re: $50 Amazon Gift Card 50% OFF escrowed on: June 28, 2013, 03:15:06 AM
Is there a minimum bid increment? Are we bidding in bitcoins or dollars? Can we pay in bitcoins? If so, which exchange rate do we use?

I bid $26
862  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Frog: Help bring Bitmessage mainstream! on: June 28, 2013, 03:09:32 AM
I think this is a great project. I tried to install Bitmessage on my computer, but only manual install is availible for OSX, and I must have done something wrong because I just can't get it to work. Having an easy to install and use version would be great.

I hope this doesn't come off as mean, ... Your a programmer, try and get BTC3.5 by working for someone else.

Also don't tell your parents this but college is a scam. I just graduated from college (23yrs old), ... I think your really talented, and you should be hustling in the bitcoin community. ... Wait until your 17, you be driving a Benz maybe even a ferrari to school Wink Take my advice, bootstrap, hustle, you will be big... And when your starting your own companies you come to me for funding ok.

I hope this doesn't come off as mean, but how do you get through college and not know how to use "your" and "you're" correctly?

LOL what is 10mB to me? How bout around 1BTC A month and ill make your victim angry as hell

What do you mean "what is 10mB to me?"? You said to name a price, so I started with what I consider a reasonable price for the service you suggested.

To print you need all the raw materials so i've ony seen it done with small non-bake cakes. I highly doubt they can print even simple machines as you cant just squeeze circuit's into a tube. they really cant do anything that isn't just layers of material. Sure someone could print a mold but then you would need to hollow it out and add add circuitry and complex parts yourself manually. they really cant do much right now besides some non-cooked food items, and solid shapes/simple molds. wait till the technology is improved save your money, unless you just want something to play with and love non-baked treats.

Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about. I am sure there are plenty of people around here who know more than me on the subject, but I could address a few points.

"To print you need all the raw materials so i've ony seen it done with small non-bake cakes." What? Of course you need the raw materials. You can't make something out of nothing. 3-D printers usually take as their input a sort of plastic wire, which is melted and placed by the printer.

"I highly doubt they can print even simple machines as you cant just squeeze circuit's into a tube." Go do some more google searching for things made by 3-D printers, they can be quite complex.

"Sure someone could print a mold but then you would need to hollow it out and add add circuitry and complex parts yourself manually." You can print hollow structures with a 3-D printer. If you do not see how that works, then you should go back to kindergaten.

"they really cant do much right now besides some non-cooked food items," I don't think you understand what 3-D printers are used for, nobody prints any food items.

I think you are trolling, nobody could possibly that stupid/misinformed, right?

You should give him a bitcoin address so he can send you the money more easily ...  Grin
867  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your favourite baseball team? on: June 27, 2013, 06:38:24 PM
If I have to pick a team I would go with the Detroit Tigers, but that is just because I am from Michigan and they are the team we went to see when I was little. It has been 6 years since I went to one of their games, and I only went to that one because my uncle was following the Dodgers around the country (he lives in the LA area) and we all went to the game together when the dodgers played in Detroit.

I bought bunch of AMC shares cause their hashing power will be 4E8B7$2V2%4h1310-TH/s when fully deployed. And they will mine 334BTC every 10 min.

Can't wait for my 3btc daily dividends.

AM used to be crazy for thinking they would have 10% of the network

You're right.  It's perfectly reasonable to assume someone arriving to the scene 2 years late will be able to mine 3 times more coins than are actually available.

It does not matter when they arrived, and check your math - that is 13 times more coins than are actually available.
870  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - SatoshiDICE 100% Dividend-Paying Asset on MPEx on: June 27, 2013, 04:39:33 PM
So it looks like there is some serious competition in the form of Just-Dice, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=242962.0

Do satoshidice operators have any comment on how they will try to compete with this competition?
871  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I pay off my loan without using FIAT before the end of the week? on: June 27, 2013, 03:07:46 PM
Kindly stay on track.  You can start your own thread to debate the law.  This is my thread about selling coin.  Who wants to buy?

I think it is on-topic to discuss this. If he is right, then you could simply offer your bitcoins to your bank, no need for a middleman. If they refuse then you no longer have to pay the loan, and if they take the bitcoins then your plan has succeeded.
872  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I pay off my loan without using FIAT before the end of the week? on: June 27, 2013, 02:54:29 PM
§ 3-603. TENDER OF PAYMENT.
(b) If tender of payment of an obligation to pay an instrument is made to a person entitled to enforce the instrument and the tender is refused, there is discharge, to the extent of the amount of the tender
http://www.law.cornell.edu/ucc/3/3-603.html

If you tender a payment in BTC and it is kept( in which case it is assumed accepted ) or refused, the obligation will be discharged, following the UCC.

Would that only apply for legal tender? So if you offer them dollars for your debt and they say they don't want your dollars, then the debt is discharged, but if you offer them chickens (or bitcoins) and they refuse you still owe them the dollar amount?
873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I pay off my loan without using FIAT before the end of the week? on: June 27, 2013, 12:47:02 AM
He's saying:

"I" can't pay it off if "somebody else" is paying it off.

But if you are giving something to the other guy, then it amounts to the same thing. If you start with a debt of X dollars, and after giving a guy (bitcoins, a blowjob, dollars, whatever) the debt is repaid, then it does not matter exactly what happened, you payed off your loan.
874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple a Scam? on: June 26, 2013, 11:29:47 PM
Not a scam, but they missed the point of Bitcoin : it's peer to peer. no central server, can't be shut down.

Ripple is the new Flooz / Beenz . Same fate to be expected.

Supposedly they have designed it in such a way that a number of servers can be run, making it somewhat decentralized, thus avoiding the fate of the old centralized failures. If they actually come through with their promises is still yet to be seen.

I don't know if it is the best movie, but one of my favorites is "Black Hawk Down"
876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I pay off my loan without using FIAT before the end of the week? on: June 26, 2013, 11:23:32 PM
He's arguing about grammar and the English language, don't fall into his tarpit.

I am usually pretty good at spotting grammar issues, but I think I am lost on this one. Could you explain more?
877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I pay off my loan without using FIAT before the end of the week? on: June 26, 2013, 09:19:15 PM
Technically, you cannot pay off your USD loan by having somebody else pay it off in exchange for whatever (bitcoins, blowjob, a used car). This distinction may become important in case of either of the two deals going bad.

Why wouldn't he be able to do such a thing? Saying "send X dollars to bank account Y (which happens to be my loan account) and I will send Z bitcoins to you" is no different than saying "send X dollars to bank account Y (which happens to be my savings account) and I will send Z bitcoins to you".

Or is the you bolded because only he is not able to do this, and other people would?
878  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Ways of making bitcoins. on: June 26, 2013, 09:14:28 PM
Get a job, work hard, buy bitcoin.

Or offer to do something for bitcoins. Work hard, get paid bitcoins.

I would sincerely do that if I know what could I do, and if I could do something of value. Sad

You will have to figure that out yourself. What skills or abilities do you have?
879  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is bitcoin price not going up? on: June 26, 2013, 06:39:33 PM
Why is bitcoin price stuck around the same number and not  increasing, how likely  is it for bitcoin to steadily start going up again?

See what happened is a few months ago the price was at about 10, and the market decided that was too cheap and so it started rising. Nobody knows what the price of a bitcoin will be in the future, so the current price will continue until something interesting happens.

I think this should go over in the 'goods' section unless you are actually taking bids here?
