In a message, Mark told me we should get back to supporting free open source software. I agree that we should fund more software, I suggest that devcoin fund the active projects on the bitcoin accepting open source project list: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Donation-accepting_organizations_and_projects#Open_sourceA while back we sent messages to open source software projects, offering them funding, and they ignored us. However, since devcoin addresses are the same format as bitcoin addresses, we can fund them without any help or even acknowledgement from them. This would be done by adding them to the devcoin share list. This would reduce the number of devcoins being sent to everyone else. Since many of the projects wouldn't even know that they were being funded, there would be fewer devcoins sold, so the value being sold would be similar divided by fewer coins, so the price per devcoin might be slightly higher than what it otherwise would of been. Are there any objections to funding those projects? Some public btc donation addresses arent owned by said party, instead of a company/service (bitpay) for example. As they dont have the private key for said address, they can never get their devcoins.

I support Anoncoin. I think everyone who do should come out and say so. Also, if you say a community is important for ANC then we should really get a slack or similar and gather there. IRC will not work to grow, for real.
slack is hostile for open communications. everyone who runs anoncoin and supports the community, already has i2p installed and therefore can just join irc2p as well. anoncoin is about anonymity/privacy and therefore operates in the i2p net. why should we use a centralized and non-anonymous way to communicate?

no, thats randomness. its impossible to tell how "far" you are to find what your looking for, its just a very crude approximation. restarting it wont change anything, just reset that approximation.

Is there any good working qt wallet for windows?
Yeah, the wallet is working well. Look in the first post in this thread for download link. This is a very old coin, but it syncs quite fast. If you need more clearnet nodes you can add these from novaexchange: https://novaexchange.com/addnodes/ANC/nono... if you want to sync fast AND use the coin what its for, then you enable i2p! most peers on clearnet are very outdated wallets which are long incompatible.

This is all part of my lifestyle of "devotes typically 10 hours or more per week to the development of free open source software" that earns me one share of the minted DeVCoins. It seems kind of insane that anyone other than maybe Stephen King or the like should be earning an entire share of the minted DeVCoin just for pasting 1000 words to the Wiki, why the heck would anyone ever waste time creating software when they can instead write thousands of words about how much more coins they earn simply writing about why they cannot afford time to spend creating software compared to simply writing about doing so or, really, writing about any darn thing that crosses their mind?
-MarkM-
i never understood what "writers" have to do with DEVcoin, ie development. once that took off, i lost interest in devcoin just like other devs. a revert is needed.

"Joinmarket - Coinjoin that people will actually use" It's been 2,5 years since this topic was started and my only question is simple: haven't you yet understood that people will NOT actually use something that doesn't have friendly UI? I like this whole project and idea behind it, however being someone without basic coding background I find this thing quite challenging to deal with RTFM

Definitely a sleeping giant with good history, unfortunately BTC38 was the biggest exchange for ANC and since the delisting of ANC and other coins from BTC38 the volume dropped significantly but still holding strong, Devs need to make it clear that this coin is not abandoned to avoid loss of confidence in using the coin. The Zerocoin protocol would really skyrocket Anoncoin to where it ought to be.
If you know where the DEVs are, please tell them to come back, so tat we can discuss If you'd read the posts, you'd know we're on irc2p in #anoncoin and #anoncoin-dev. I want to contact the ANONCON DEVs, but I am not used to the IRC2p platform. If you guys need funds, then you need to state it on this thread, so that all agreements can be made on this thread. K1773R - I have tried 1 million ways to get to get to the IRC2p platform, but with no success. The only platform I am able to get to is http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=#anoncoin on clearnet. Can you please help - start i2p or i2pd - wait 1-2min - point your IRC client to these server: 127.0.0.1 port: 6668 channel #anoncoin

slack is hostile for communities, use an open IRC server (or a forum thread like this one).

The Discussion is taking too long TIME FOR A BACKUP PLAN While I still believe that Devcoin still has enough community support for "resurrecting", it looks to me that people is waiting for real action rather than more endless discussion. Back to the basics: "Talk is cheap... Code is gold!" Let's code some stuff guys! So, I'm planning to push some stuff to the official repo so you guys can play with it and to provide feedback hands-on. If you guys want to push some code upstream, go ahead! This is our playground from now on: http://github.com/coinzen/devcoin/Let's move convert this discussion into Pull Requests! just dont play on the master branch.

Cryptoslave has not been active on this thread since July 10, 2017, 09:48:55 PM. Is he the main developer of this project? If this coin needs MAJOR DEVELOPMENT, then it is better to leave it alone at NOVAEXCHANGE, because too many exchanges at this premature stage will only make it difficult to upgrade the Network in the future. PLEASE STAY WELL AWAY FROM YOBIT !!! The only major development ANC needs at the moment is the integration of the zerocoin protocol. Cryptoslave has updated the desktop and portable wallets and the network explorer. I2P is also working well, therefore, if zerocoin works, we could have one of the best anonymous coins in the market. Let the zerocoin protocol developers come around, so that we can all reach an agreement. There was discussion with them. They preferred the insecure and centralized variant...

Is there any active development for ANC? Its got an excellent brand, also with zerocoin integration I think this can be worth so much more as a private coin with such a old valid chain.
Yes, Cryptoslave has done continuous development of the wallet and i2p connection. The only thing missing at the moment is the zerocoin integration. Sweet is the link in OP where devs communicate? I'd like to help if I can IRC "IRC2P" on i2p. join channel #anoncoin-dev

Are you ready for a new start? .... What changes are proposed? How will they be cemented in development, organisation and user base? What do you hope to achieve that's currently precluded? (solely a higher price is too dreamy as there are now zillions of alts). As suggested above, think you need to lay out a plan. A number of us tried to change direction in the past and got nowhere (most unfortunately lost with previous forum). Notable roadblocks included opinion summarised by at least a couple of your listed supporters, so I'd suggest outlining detail before assuming any breadth of fellow travellers. If I sound cynical that's due to experience and a well-meant caution on repeating the same cycles of disappointment + wasted time/expense, not being an @rsehole. Exactly what i ment. I'd even help in their "new team". But just marketing talk wont do any good.

DVC price is not doing badly on Coingather.
Agreed. A little over a BTC and it's back up to 100sat, as well. I'd love for it to get there (or higher) and stabilize... I will try to buy a little the next few months. Feels like going back home. This is a good start indeed but we should keep moving! Do you guys REALLY want 100 satoshis per DVC? Please HELP US reach out UTB and Devcoin miners, it will easy the hardfork A LOT! Also, we need at least one more person for the test network, don't let the train go again. PLEASE HELP US HELP YOU!! You want to hardfork with no real plan or really needed changes (the mirrors work, you dont need "other" mirrors). Come up with a real idea which is WORTH to hardfork. Yes, we need real plan , roadmap... Did you miss it? Read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=233997.msg19381033#msg193810331. Build a new Devcoin community asset 2. Hardfork devcoin: new mirrors for receiver_xx.csv files, new rewards distribution system, new countdown
2. Well, what kind of new rewards distribution system? countdowns? Dont tell me you'll just come up with something someday...

Hi all...been out of the crypto world for a while. I see there is a new version of ANC...does anyone have the 64 bit non-installable (zip) version?
Not sure right now what version the pool runs but I think it is 0.9.6.12. Is that still compatible or do I need to update it as well? If so then I will (try) compile the Linux version from the source.
I know the version of p2pool I run does not support the larger TX's but I don't feel like maintaining a different p2pool code base just for ANC than the other coins.
If you feel it is appropriate I can just take down the p2pool node I run.
There are a lot of huge txs, it would be nice if you could merge the patch. it just does a small change and you could even make it dependend on network (ie, only if anoncoin network selected). this way you wouldnt break compatibility with others (i'd add that code to my version, so you could cherry-pick the 2 commits). I didnt ask you to take it down tough Ok! I will add the code you developed to my ANC P2Pool node...I believe it is just this one commit? https://github.com/K1773R/p2pool/commit/6079f026e22ffcfb80a5ac1937005ab2b9d5ccd0Edit: I faintly recall forestv specifying reasons not to increase the TX size setting but since I don't have any connecting peers the point is moot. Also the benefit outweighs the risk for ANC specifically. That is correct, thats the only commit you'll need to be able to mine bigger tx's.

Can anyone list the exchanges currently pairing QRK? Among them, which one does not require ID verification to deposit / withdraw?
BTC38 Cryptopia BX thailand Bittylicious I think cryptopia doesn't need ID verification. btc38 needs shitbook, so its a big nono.
