201  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you play while listening music? on: October 13, 2023, 09:36:11 PM
Gambling is just risking to make money. We aren't sure of the outcome, which means we'll be with some sort of expectation. The outcome might be painful or it can be enjoyable. In such situation it is really hard to enjoy music. On this contrary I never prefer listening music while gambling. Maybe if I had placed bets on sports betting I might listen to music as it takes lot time to know the result of my bet.

I personally mute each and every sound while gambling. Even the platform sounds were muted, which is to keep my activities secret. Earlier my wife used to identify I'm gambling based on the sound.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I recently convinced my employer to start paying me in BTC, it has been great on: October 13, 2023, 09:22:06 PM
Compared to traditional forms such as bank transfers, using Bitcoin can minimize transaction costs, especially when transferring money between different countries. The message here is that smallscale individual cases see limited financial problems and have solutions through the use of bitcoin. Not only OP, but I think we would all be very happy if our work was paid in BTC, as BTC becomes more and more popular, people see many benefits through using it. We still have to look backwards because this is a personal issue, so we need more time for people to become familiar with the technology and use BTC.

because I have felt for myself the benefits of getting a salary with bitcoin (currently I can say I am enjoying it, getting a salary from signature with bitcoin) if I had a boss, then I would not hesitate to tell my boss to pay my salary with bitcoin. my reason is simple, I see bitcoin as a currency and also the best investment asset right now, I can use part of the bitcoin I get to live and then the rest I will use as an investment.
For cross border transactions bitcoin used to be a source through which things can be more effective than making transactions in the form of fiat. OP is positive about bitcoin and he had requested for the salary in terms of bitcoin. When received in bitcoin it ease the choice of investment, because we can just sell what is required for our daily life and keep the remaining in terms of bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies as investment.

Long back itself this had been getting practiced in some part of the world. Many companies have begun to pay in terms of bitcoin, depending on the request from the employees. Maybe we can expect this get spread in the leading corporates of the world.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: October 13, 2023, 08:58:09 PM
There is effective solution for gambling addiction, but this can't be kept in control just on the therapy. Even in this situation if the person's mind isn't ready to accept and get rid of addiction it won't be effective. A friend of mine went to alcohol de-addiction centre and he was under treatment for about 1 month. This is not about sessions, but it was like giving complete change of life. Within the centre they'll be taught about life, counseling sessions, they'll undergo some personality improvement. When they're within the centre they never think of alcohol and they hate it. The next day he came out of it, he has started to be the same as the past. In my understanding we ourselves should have the acceptance, if not this can go ineffective.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 13, 2023, 07:23:35 AM
Two games and both lost. This time Aussies are not looking lethal as they are in every world cup. The way SA were batting it looks like they will score over 350 runs but Aussie bowlers did a good job to restrict them to 311. Its the batting of Aussies that disappointed them in yesterday match. To me its very clear that Aussies wont make it to semis. May be they are not interested in this world cup because they have won so many titles in the past.

Well.. I wouldn't write-off Australia completely. They have some of the most experienced ODI players in the world at this point. I am talking about David Warner, Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins. Maybe some of them are out of form. But given their vast experience and reputation of performing well in the ICC tournaments, I am still hopeful of a comeback by the Australians. Their next match is against Sri Lanka, and therefore we can expect them to get their first win in the tournament soon enough.
With handful of experienced players the team will surely make a comeback. Just two matches have passed, and in both the matches Australia have lost it badly. This have mentally down them, in particular the match against India is really unaccepted one as the team India bounced from 2-3 to its winning by 6 wickets. With the five time champions this is a disappointing performance. Even the cricket experts predict Australia will make a comeback, lets see if Australia can take things positive and move forward. Sri Lanka isn't that bad, and the performance against South Africa amidst the big target shows their potential.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 13, 2023, 04:05:21 AM
From the profile of OP, it is clear that he's using bitcointalk since 2014. I don't know from which year he had got into signature campaigns. Maybe if he had got into signature campaign earning earlier and if he had kept hold of those funds now this question couldn't have come into his mind. In the past users receive similar pay, but in terms of BTC it used to be very high against now. Sometimes I used to calculate what I've got earlier and what it could've been in today's price. Thats a big difference, and on such calculation everyone suggests to hold and enjoy the goodness. However the holding shouldn't restrict us from leading our life through sacrifice. We should live and with rest available we should hold for the future profit.

I prefer holding and in between I used to trade with the balance. This will help me make little profit and the same helps in increasing the holding. Any form of investment needs to be given time for growth. With cryptomarket we should be careful enough to enjoy the profit unlike the holding period. This means the price could increase within a month and we should not hold tight for years. We should enjoy the profit and then once again reinvest at the right time.
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is for everybody but we must accept it before it can be ours. on: October 12, 2023, 11:59:15 PM
OP have given a suggestion to be positive with the bitcoin. It has been developed for some purpose and the same is getting fulfilled in different forms. Some people have this mentality that bitcoin is highly priced and it is not for us. Initially they should understand how it works, many feel weird of its complicated functioning. For people who hadn't got much of technical knowledge the best option is to understand the price increase and the limited supply.

Once people get aware about the growth chart as well as the limited supply surely they'll have the understanding how the price increase happens. Further the denomination needs to learnt, so that they'll get to know anyone can buy/invest with what they've got. This will Wipeout the understanding that bitcoin is for everyone and it isn't limited for people who or rich or for the technically knowledgeable people.
207  Economy / Economics / Re: Help me analyze the feasibility of this business idea on: October 12, 2023, 11:56:35 PM
1. I'm good in maths and science-related courses and have always loved teaching;

Here's some advice you should seriously consider: it's tough to excel in a job you don't have a passion for. It should be all about your passion rather than just the paycheck. But, I get it – you've mentioned that the current salary of teachers in your country doesn't quite cut it. In that case, I'd recommend exploring online teaching. With your passion and teaching expertise, I'm confident you'll find some attractive opportunities on the web.

Since you brought up teacher salaries, would you be willing to share the typical figures for their salaries? Also, it would be helpful to know what you're aiming for in terms of salary. This way, we can get a clearer picture before diving into more specific suggestions.

According to what I can tell from this, the man in the OP appears to be diligent, and it is clear that teaching is his true calling. Additionally, he made it possible for him to develop other abilities outside of his primary occupation as a teacher that he wishes to use and benefit from.

And from what I can tell, he claims that even in graphics and technical courses, he can benefit from what little he knows about his computer skills. Since we are online, we use computers, and there is also something technical in what we do here, I believe his computer skills, graphics, and technical knowledge will aid him when he actually enters the Bitcoin or cryptocurrency company.

Having the mathematical and graphical skills were really great. He should consider a thing primary source of earning and further spend time to explore and find the opportunity to grab some additional earning through platforms like Fiverr or similar things. At the initial days this could be little difficult, over time this will give him good income based on the way he completes the work.
208  Economy / Economics / Re: You can't meet all your needs/desires at once, even if you spend all your salary on: October 11, 2023, 11:20:18 AM
As eloborated in the opening post, it is true that the needs of people won't come to an end. It is our responsibility to plan wise and allocate good money for savings. Miscellaneous spending happens and those are unavoidable, at times people spend money because they don't know what to do. Such situations needs to be avoided. To understand this situation, one need to spend on analysing whether it is must needed one.

Personally I used to have long term plans and if the earning turns good then I'll spend on it. This helps in achieving the materialistic needs fulfilled earlier. This is possible only through proper planning where we need to be clear on the allocation for our needs and for investment.
209  Economy / Economics / Re: The economics of war. How does this affect us all especially us in crypto? on: October 11, 2023, 02:12:07 AM
Being decentralised the market won't be much affected, even in this situation impact can be experienced as the bitcoin market is working with some sort of connection with the traditional system to some extent. One such thing happened with the Ukraine-Russia war, exclusion of Russian banks from the global Swift system. This restricted the cross border transactions and the usage of cryptocurrency increased and during those days more transactions and donations took place in terms of cryptocurrency. This marked the market to be bullish to some extent, further the regular pattern of growth took place. Even with the ongoing Israel-Palestine war cryptocurrency have come into discussion, as Israel authorities have frozen cryptocurrency accounts connected with the Hamas Military group with the support of Binance. This step have been taken to restrict the illicit usage of bitcoin. Hamas considered as a terrorist organisation looks for more opportunities as the traditional financial systems were tightened to support its activities.
210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can somebody make a successful career in gambling on: October 11, 2023, 12:00:01 AM
  • Considering it a career is possible, maybe through programming skills can start his own casino.
  • Can create games that were unique and provides with better winning probability.
  • Some gambling platforms requires people to promote through regional language. Such position can be filled
  • Can have signal providing service for sports betting, if you're good in it.
  • Gambling is a big industry and it have got lots of opportunities. We should explore and find what suits to our
ability and work on it rather than prioritising gambling to make money.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 10, 2023, 11:59:25 PM
I don't keep a detailed record of such, but I do keep a record of how much money is going out of my wallets every time I gamble or bet on something. It's something that is important more than keeping track of your win/loss IMO. You will be aware of what's happening with your money if you know how much is going towards leisure and 'fun' activities compared to what you really need to live day by day. Not keeping a record of things doesn't make you a bad gambler, it just makes your financial moves bad because you are not making informed decisions by missing a lot of details.
Keeping track of the spending gives you a detailed information on what have you spent and what you've won out of it. This could help you keep track of which bet have brought you profit and where you've lost it. These days gambling platforms gives the overall profit/loss status which lets us know whether we're on the profit or loss. Keeping track is good, particularly with sports betting. Maybe it can help with further bets on same teams playing in the future.
212  Economy / Economics / Re: What would you do in this situation? Invest or save? on: October 10, 2023, 11:55:14 PM
The business doesn't have to set a round capital of $20K, it can also be smaller than that, even from $5K to $10K, you can start it. Why do you have to set capital that can be said to be large, I have no other choice but to run the business with minimal capital and Even so, what are our skills in marketing the business we are running? Do we understand the business we are running? If someone wants to start a business, they definitely already know what the profits from their business will be.

Agreed, starting up with a small amount of capital doesn’t mean you won’t get a large profit from the business. With time and patience, you will get your profits. Understanding where you are putting your money is also very important because that will help you generate money from such businesses. Being able to identify the risks that will make you lose a large amount of money, take reasonable risks, and do other things that will prevent and help you make money from such businesses is also very important to know.

However, that is what affects some people now, as they don’t bother to know how risky a business is. In business, we do something called a location survey. People need to do a survey before starting up a business. This means you should choose a good location where you believe your product will be sold. People will buy what you are selling. You can't just wake up a day and decide to do business without doing some studies. This kind of thing makes some people regret their move, and it’s very important to know before we get into a business.
Starting the business with the already saved amount seems to be the better choice than waiting for the other $5000 to be earned/saved. Another thing when starting a small business or big business we should have the positive thoughts. Op had mentioned the smallest business to be started with $15000 have got the possibility of failing. With this mentality one should not approach a business. Our focus needs to be on, how to make it work better and generate profit.

As said more analysis is a must. In the past people used to grow gradually and in the present era the competence is high and the expectations have peaked. It is a must to go on the right track and study the market well. This will ease the process and keep us on the safer side.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In Case of Global Conflict, Is BTC The Best Alternative? on: October 10, 2023, 11:49:42 PM
It is not just Russia-Ukraine and Israel-Hamas. There's still the ongoing war in Yemen and I believe Libya is still in a state of civil war and maybe Syria although Assad is regaining the upper hand with the help of the Russians. There are indeed a lot of areas that are highly sensitive like the Korean peninsula, China and its neighbors, the Azerbaijan-Armenia issue on Nagorno-Karabakh, etc.

Bitcoin is decentralized and is not involved in any type of politics so it could become some sort of protecting our wealth like gold and other precious stuff that are valued over time.
There are more number of wars going on. Think of the Ukraine - Russia war, there were heated discussion for some time period and media have forgotten it. So is the people, and now it is Israel - Palestine. Same as this we were able to see more number of wars taking place around the world. In certain things it is really impossible to reach a solution and one such is with the Israel-Palestine issue. Bitcoin is all about the decentralised functioning and not it doesn't have much of dependency over the traditional market. So, there'll be fluctuation and the same doesn't have major movements in the market.
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: October 10, 2023, 11:42:47 PM
The results of Bukele's fight against crime in El Salvador are still yielding good results.  The Norwegian cruise ship Fridtjof Nansen docked in the Salvadoran port for the first time this cruise season.  About 200 tourists from Europe, the United States and Canada sailed on the liner for excursion purposes and to see the sights of the country.  Local people naturally welcome guests well.  And for these residents who work in the tourism sector, this is quite a significant event.  They all hope that there will be many cruise ships and foreign tourists in the future.

source 1   source 2

Good news for the people of El Salvador and the tourism industry. All credit goes to the President Nayib Bukele, if he hadn't taken the decision to be the first country to adopt bitcoin as legal tender maybe they could've been seen as the old El Salvador which is much talked for its crime and gang culture. Now things have changed a lot and the tourism industry is already flourishing. This time the cruise ship will surely help with better business taking place. Now people of El Salvador who had fought against the adoption could've understood about the need of the change.
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: October 09, 2023, 05:59:09 PM

Will Lionel Messi play in the 2026 FIFA World Cup? This is a big question. The fans from the United States will love to see him in action on their grounds but we will wait and see. Although he has said a few times in the interviews that he may not be able to play in the upcoming World Cup.

Messi will probably still be selected for FIFA 2026 but may not be included in the main squad. I think Messi has a very big influence on the Argentine national team. Imagining young players playing with Messi in the national team will be a huge motivation for their mentality. So I think FIFA 2026 will probably be Messi's last World Cup participation before retirement.
Talking about this, I remembered the previous year before the Qatar World Cup. Yes many of us speculated that the possibility of the Qatar World Cup would be the last World Cup for Messi and not just Messi but other players as well, like Ronaldo for example. But now we are starting to speculate about the possibility of Messi plying in the World Cup or not. Yes it is interesting considering his age, but indeed his influence on his country is huge. Even though he is only in the lineup and not the main player, he can give his experience to other players and also provide motivation. I also haven't heard any rumors of him retiring anytime soon.
These days sportsman are trying to keep themselves away from speculation. Now things were highly transparent between the authorities and the common people through technology. Injuries were the major reason, upon which players take break from the teams. With Messi such situation hadn't arised. Most of the time he used to keep his body good. According to me, if he goes on a long break before World Cup there is chances of going out of form. Only in such situation the selection committee will think of whether to have Messi into the team or provide opportunity for the young players of the nation.
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: October 09, 2023, 05:49:56 PM
Diego Schwartzman - Taylor Fritz

the h2h of these two athletes gave an advantage to Fritz, and also the odds were very low, something like 1.15 and looking at the performance of these two athletes, Schwartzman has a bad performance, with low performance in the service games and in the physical he also showed little physical resistance, with a history of being eliminated early in tournaments, I saw Fritz who is currently number 8 and was seen as one of the favorites to at least go far as the favorite to win this game in a good way. easy and without difficulties, and that's why I include him in my multibet bet, but to my surprise the guy lost, this defeat was really a surprise

I confess that when I saw the result of the 1st set I even thought that there was no reason for me to be worried, that everything would change in the next few minutes, I even stopped following the result of the game because I was very convinced that Fritz would win obviously, Even in tennis, there are rare cases in which a favorite with odds of 1.15 loses, although that doesn't mean he can't lose, but it's something difficult to happen, but when I go back to stake.com to see the status of my bet I come across therefore:

 Shocked

I lost my bet, in games with low odds like these I only do it when they involve good players against weak opponents and I place it in a multibet bet with high odds, but today I decided to do it this way because that would make it more challenging, but unfortunately I lost the bet. It's not something that harms me, but I was shocked by Taylor Fritz's defeat. the other tennis players won as expected, I'm talking about Rublev and Alcaraz

Thats the unlucky part, losing the bet placed on the underdog. Both had played really well and at it is a big upset for Fritz. Schwartzman played the best of his ability and winning the deciding set on tie breaker is not an easy thing. Another disappointment I came across in today's matches between different players is the match between Tsitsipas and Humbert. From the first set onwards Humbert kept his dominance, and with the play Tsitsipas won the second set and it looked like he'll win the match, but Humbert took advance at the right time and won the match to reach the play against J.J Wolf.
217  Economy / Economics / Re: Early Retirement [Pros and Cons] on: October 09, 2023, 05:30:26 PM
Recently a grandpa aged around 85 years of age got viral in our country. He was a common man residing at the rural part of the country in a small house that is much of a traditional look. He share what he had invested and what is the value of his investment in present value is around $12 million which is a very very big money. He had invested long back taking into consideration his retirement. Now he had experienced the good out of the investment.

The present generation is of this kind, the primary focus is on some solid investment taking account of their future retirement. Not many able to make good money out of the investment at the shortest. People who were lucky or who had predicted the growth in a better way gets the opportunity to retire earlier whereas the rest just continues with their day jobs.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advice to friend for financial improvement. on: October 09, 2023, 05:08:33 PM
It is good advice for your friend but you should also make sure what his purpose is in buying an iPhone. Others bought iPhones for making content on social media which means an investment in venturing into another method of earning but your friend already decided to buy Bitcoin which is a good choice. It is really impractical if your friend bought that phone for just casual use which is nothing wrong with it but the problem is that he can't buy it in cash as his salary is low so either he pays it on installment or he has savings on it.
Majority of the iPhone users keep on changing the iPhone whenever new product gets launched. This had been used as a status object, which means majority prefer iPhone just to show themselves high among the group of people. Here the friend had did a good job convincing the friend to move his funds to buy bitcoin from the decision of buying an iPhone. Not everyone gets such a mentality soon after knowing about bitcoin.

Investing in bitcoin is the best considering the inflation and the crisis happening around. Op should also brief his friend about the market volatility, because some gets interested into bitcoin and look for profit. When the person is in need the market could've been in the bearish trend. If one cash out in such situation, he's gonna loss. So, along with the decision to buy it is must to know about bitcoin along with the risks to be on the safer network.
219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 09, 2023, 04:51:34 PM
LOL.. one defeat against strongest team in the tournament and all of a sudden Australia's chances are down? I don't agree with this assessment. Australia still remains as one of the favorites to lift the trophy and historically they have performed really well in ICC tournaments. Their next match is against South Africa at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, and I am sure that they will bounce back strongly. Almost everyone in the Australian squad have the experience of participating in the IPL. So they are very familiar with the weather and ground conditions. And this is going to help them as the tournament progresses.
History doesn't always repeat if you think about it. Am pretty confident that they won't win the cup even if they bounce back because of the manner in which they lost against the Indian team.

They were bowled out for a mediocre score of 199 and only a couple of their bowlers bowled well while the rest faltered. Think!
We can't be sure on it, and Australia is not a team that goes down in performance forever. India is playing good and yesterday's match is a proof. We can't be sure of the performance will continue in the upcoming matches, but Australia will surely make a bounce back and surely be among the top four.

Every team experience a pressure when it comes to league matches. We were able to see massive difference on teams playing the warm-up matches and the ongoing league matches. Anyhow most of the Matches are interesting to watch due to the high scoring.
220  Economy / Economics / Re: The economics of war. How does this affect us all especially us in crypto? on: October 09, 2023, 02:16:22 PM
In every form of advancement we were able to see the transition taking place in size and power. Most of the time the size used to go down whereas the power used to be more stronger. One such incident that strikes my mind after seeing the incident is an experience I had while viewing a 1080p video. Connected a drive to my desktop and opened the particular video file. It didn't play on the monitor as it doesn't support 1080p video. The same file works flawless in my mobile device. So the advancement is trying to keep everything handy and in a much powerful manner.
