The U.S. banking system remains resilient and on a solid foundation, in large part due to reforms that were made after the financial crisis that ensured better safeguards for the banking industry. Those reforms combined with today's actions demonstrate our commitment to take the necessary steps to ensure that depositors' savings remain safe.

Oh the money printer is still open for business, it's just that no one wants to borrow at 5+% rates. A return on nothing is still nothing.

The Meta Quest 2 VR looked good but I must admit I got quite bored with VR on a cheap Oculus Go after 4-6 months and that was with the best quality VR Porn available to mankind. I doubt ANYTHING else would want me to put on a headset on a more regular basis. Anyone curious should try it but again it's just not going to be lifestyle changing at all I would say.
IMO, VR and VR games are the most over-hyped "next big thing" going today. (well, next to folding screen smartphones anyway) I imagine that a lot of people get FOMO'ed into buying the expensive VR gear, setting it up, play a few games a few times, and then after all the newness hype wears off....the gear sits gathering dust in the corner, as they go back to playing regular console or PC games again. Then eventually they sell their gear on EBay at a loss.

Well well well, when the Fed raises the cost for start ups and corporations to borrow cheap debt, stocks crash, people get laid off en masse, and the world economies go to shit. Oh my, who woulda thunk it? <picachuface.jpg> It's almost like...the world economies' corporations are completely subsidized now because they can't make a profit anymore? Who knew? /s

When the whales mega short, they just love to follow up the FUD with a big dip below what they think are major psychological numbers. Looks like they are gunning for sub $20k. Joke's on them....long term HODLers are completely unaffected. Also, get used to these big leveraged up and down barts pretty much all year long. The only thing that matters is that we'll end up higher than where we started the year.

To all those cheering on short term I-Bond rates, be warned, the music will eventually stop. And stop hard.
The return rates will drop to zero overnight, and all the bagholders will be looking for the exit.

So I've been wracking my brain lately to come up with what TPTB will use to kick off the next bitcoin/crypto bull run. No doubt it'll be something just as mind mindbogglingly stupid as the last stupid thing. Vanity shitcoins are dead. Forks/flippenings are dead. ICOs are dead. NFTs are dead. DeFi is dead. Big personalities buying mega amounts of bitcoin is...not dead yet? (AKA the Elon Musk / Michael Saylor / SBF effect) I feel like the next bull run will definitely include a young, tech savvy Silicon Valley "big deal" type personality. So here's my next bull run prediction:Sam Altman's OpenAI tells him that "Bitcoin will take over the future of finance on planet Earth" and to "buy Bitcoin", so he does. Buying a mega shit ton. Then his AI tells him to start up his own crypto exchange and hedge fund. So he does that too. Bitcoin skyrockets. Then (when they're ready for the rug pull) his AI tells him, "Actually I was wrong, it won't be Bitcoin, it'll be this other shiny new shitcoin over here that will supercede bitcoin in the future." Sam will then dump bitcoin for the aforementioned shitcoin (that's traded on his exchange, of course). Bitcoin crashes. .... Sound like a stupid prediction? Welp, they are already priming the pump by promoting him in the MSM: Sam Altman is tech’s next household name — if we survive the killer robotshttps://www.cnbc.com/2023/02/17/sam-altman-is-techs-next-household-name-if-we-survive-the-killer-robots.html...AAAND he already created the perfect shitcoin: Worldcoin. https://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/21/sam-altmans-worldcoin-wants-to-scan-your-eyes-in-exchange-for-crypto.htmlScanning people's eyeballs in exchange for a global shitcoin? Sounds like the perfect WEF / digital ID / track-you-anywhere draconian agenda bullshit. You read it here first folks.

I can't believe it. She always looked so much younger than her age that I thought she'd live to be 100. If you look at photos of her online from the last 2 years, it looks like time miraculously caught up with her. Something really strange happened there. She will always be remembered as the bombshell though.

Sad day: Localbitcoins.com is no more.

I'm probably wrong but this stupid Chinese balloon story has many hallmarks of a media psy-op for distraction If the MSM doesn't try to immediately sweep the story under the rug and keep it there, it is most certainly a media psy-op for distraction. Gotta keep those Average Joes and Janes in a constant state of anxiety and panic, dontcha know!

This is my first wall observer post. I knew I wanted to start posting here from the moment I started lurking. ^I even have a hat ready. Ok bye wall observer nice to meet you guys! Bruh, that's not how it's done around here. Hats are *earned* via respect after over a long time of making quality posts in the WO thread. Not by hit-and-run first time shitposting. <kids these days, sigh...>

That latest U.S. jobs report is pure BS. With all the mass layoff announcements? In the first two weeks of Jan? No. Fucking. Way. I'm sure the numbers were fudged, probably pulled forward holiday and contract hires, just to dump on the longs. They'll revise down months later. The Fed really wants to keep this inflation narrative and rate hikes going, drag it out for as long as possible.

"Bitcoin crashes on fears of government ban!" "Bitcoin crashes due to another fork threat!" Blah blah blah. Some shit, different year. "Bitcoin crashes due to child pornography permanently written into the blockchain" I want no part of any of that. Yep, I first thought of that too. They always have to plant the seeds early. Four Horsemen of the Infocalypse, FTW. The funny thing though, we're now hip to their bullshit game. Can see it coming from a mile away.

I've had some time to sleep and think on this, now, and the more I think about it, I'm just left terrified about the implications this ordinal stuff has for Bitcoin.
I see it as a very real existential threat.
I sincerely hope I am dead wrong.
Nah, it's just the whales setting up another future shitstorm to use as a rug pull for another bull run. They always have to have something in their back pocket. "Bitcoin crashes on fears of government ban!" "Bitcoin crashes due to another fork threat!" Blah blah blah. Same shit, different year.

Finally started to watch Stranger Things. Thought it was just a stupid JJ Abrams Super 8 rip off / extension.
But MAN... that series is sooo good! Certainly my favourite since Breaking Bad and Haunting of Hill House.
Goes the distance and shows what's in the mystery box as opposed to the likes of Lost, only ever hinting at things.
Great effects also.
It is indeed one of the best shows on Netflix. You should watch it all. FYI season 3 is the weakest of them all and went a good bit campy (so don't get discouraged there). Season 4, although a bit long, absolutely knocks it out of the park and returns to its roots like season 1 in darker tone/vibe all over again. Seasons 1 and 4 were my favorite. If asked which I liked better, I'd be forced to flip a coin.
