201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ENOUGH DASH SPAM ALREADY on: February 20, 2018, 07:34:46 AM
Update: Despite being asked to stop, Joel "NiburuHybrid" Spamenzuela is still being paid to spam our forum with banner ad signatures at the bottom of all his posts.

Proof:

Stop spamming this banner ad at the end of your posts.  Doing so is against the rules of this forum.  You've already been told this fact and asked to stop several times.

Ads are typically not allowed in posts (outside of the signature area) because they are annoying and off-topic. It is especially disallowed to put ads or signatures at the bottom of all of your posts. Except for traditional valedictions, which are tolerated but discouraged, signatures are for the signature area only.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [DASH] Dash Price and Trade Discussion Thread [UNMODERATED] on: February 18, 2018, 12:04:41 AM
I just hope thread like this is not going to be hijacked by Monero fan boys, to the main discussion, Dash price went up because the team get the marketing side of their project well and are very particular about the brand, and thanks to the masternodes the amount of tokens in the market is always low because most of it has been locked up in the MN, if there is a perceived lack of results from the developers people will start sking questions

A rising tide lifts all boats.

Dash benefited from the entire crypto market mooning, not anything special or unique about itself.

In fact, the market cap ranking drop from Top 5 to being kicked out of the Top 10 shows Dash is not even competitive with its peer group.

The entire community (minus the DashHole cultists) celebrated this big, richly deserved demotion.

Almost all Altcoins are up but XEM is belly up  Shocked

That's because XEM doesn't really solve any existing problem or actually do anything useful at all.

It's just another vehicle for speculation.  But after the hack and terrible crisis management by its Core devs, XEM is fatally wounded and bleeding out as it dies.

XEM will fade away just like Maidsafe and all the previous pump-and-dump flavors of the month.

  Cheesy
I will quote you very soon, so you can grow and learn by your own ignorance and stupidity

Please explain exactly what problem XEM solves.

Please reconcile this supposed use case with the market cap ranking of XEM sinking below that of Dash AKA Digital Trash.

I'm eager to hear you spin the response of XEM core to the hack as anything other than self-serving talking points and opportunistic marketing.

In a few months you'll be gone from this forum, and I'll still be here making fun of the next scam that replaces XEM.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [DASH] Dash Price and Trade Discussion Thread [UNMODERATED] on: February 17, 2018, 10:59:41 AM

Dash is the only coin in the red because:

1) the latest Dash Inc. Quarterly Conference Call was a huge disappointment, with no demonstrable progress on Evolution nor any explanation for it being more than 2 years behind schedule

2) the entire crypto community, ranging from r/bitcoin Core loyalists and r/btc big blockers to r/cryptocurrency moonkids, hate Dash with a passion and despise its crappy community of pumpers and cultists

3) Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Decred will soon have ~0-fee and ~instant transactions via Lightning (plus atomic swaps), rendering Dash's claims to be digital cash a laughable urban legend

4) Dash's latest debit card fiasco (TenX) went nowhere but straight into failure, just like every previous attempt

5) Dash's core wallet software is unable to handle even a modest load of 100 tx/hr (once again emphasizing the fact its claim to be a better Bitcoin is sheer marketing bullshit)

6) Dash's lavishly funded try-hard attempt to bribe its way into the Federally prohibited cannabis market via Alt36 is turning into yet another go-nowhere scam with zero accountability

Anyone want to place bets on how many days until Dash's market cap falls behind Monero's (where it belongs)?  Cool

Does anyone have a working windows wallet?

Is Fibre dead, or is there a small clique of insiders still attempting a reboot?

I'm giving up hope now, which is sad, FIBRE was a good coin back in the day.

Last hope would be an airdrop onto a Komodo assetchain, like BTCH. Could always make a FIBRE::OPAL::KMD immaculate merge fork, why not? A SuperNET zombie merge fork!

FIBRE was never a "good coin."  It was always an obvious shitcoin scam.

Anything associated with SuperNET and jl777 is obviously a scam, especially Komodo.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: February 17, 2018, 04:50:54 AM
Dear Maidsafe team -

I think developing the entire ecosystem is great but I think for the investors in Maidsafe, the best approach would be to split the project into 2 components -

1. Decentralized Storage - This could be leveraged by companies that have current applications and would utilize only the storage layer of maidsafe. This will give an opportunity for companies to explore the decentralized storage part of maidsafe and build apps on it using their existing technologies, web sites accessed by current web browsers etc. This would be huge from business standpoint and could lead to interesting partnerships for decentralized, secure storage.

2. The second part of this project should include developing SAFE web sites, accessed by SAFE browser etc etc. The second component is essentially developing the entire ecosystem (for anyone interested).

I think the stand alone decentralized storage component of this project has huge potential on its own and should be marketed/pitched separately. It should not be clubbed with the entire ecosystem development as it may turn back a huge market.

Just a thought.

Again, I am non-technical so if I am not making sense, please ignore. I just think that the decentralized storage part of this project is a multi-trillion dollar opportunity in itself.

1. Decentralized Storage - This is already being developed/done by IPFS, SIA, STORJ, Bittorrent, Gnutella, USENET, etc.  There is no need or demand for yet more vaporware in this space.

2. SAFE web sites/browser - This is already being developed/done by TOR, I2P, Freenet, Share, etc.  There is no need or demand for yet more vaporware in this space.

Maidsafe isn't even a real shitcoin.  It's just a temporary placeholder token that is supposedly going to be traded for actual Maid shitcoins at some point far off in the distant future.

Maidsafe isn't making any substantial progress or technological innovations; it's just trying and failing to rehash previous technologies in an unnecessarily complex and bloated morass of scope-creep for the sake of keeping Team Maidsafe gainfully employed and looking busy.

Hey Crypto People,

I've seen discussion about how using a unique ringsize (EG 41) is a problem for privacy.

Would it be possible to use CT/Pederson commits/range proof magical crypto stuff to hide the ringsize from everyone that doesn't need to know it?

I'm sure Confidential Ringsize is a silly idea, but would like to know exactly why. Tongue

210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Dash Fails To Scale: Can't Even Handle 1600 Transactions Per Day on: February 16, 2018, 05:39:48 PM

Despite being marketed as 'better than Bitcoin' and hyping its 'me-too' 2mb max blocksize, Dash's core wallet fails under the light pressure of fewer than 100 transactions per hour.

The owner of a Dash gambling site (and Masternode) reports:

This report is corroborated by another site (and Masternode) owner who also can't get his Dash server to handle a meager 1000-2000 tx per day.

Incompetent Dash Core devs broke the code they copied from Bitcoin Core so badly that dashd can't even do 100 transactions per hour and has to be manually restarted every 5 minutes! Grin

That is what happens when a project prioritizes marketing (and paying shills to spam this forum) over development.

I'm having this icey feeling running over my back, like someone or something is trying to make contact with me from the other side :

Dash Price Speculation posts don't belong here in the [ANN] sub/thread.  You need to unlock your Dash Price Speculation thread so they may be posted there, where they are appropriately on-topic.

It's not that hard.  I'm sure you can do it if you try.

https://dashtalk.org/threads/development-update-oct-19-2015.6429/
The picture is getting a little bit more clear :

Quote
What about Dash Evolution?

The reason we’re being quiet about the capabilities of Dash Evolution is we want to buy some time to work on it privately. By the time everyone realizes what we’re making, we’ll be so far along this path,
that no group will be able to implement it fast enough to launch this system before us. Dash Evolution includes many components of what we believe is the perfect platform for growing a new decentralized
economy, built around pure peer-to-peer commerce.

What do we know about Evolution so far?

Evolution is a completely different way of thinking about cryptographic currency. To start, we’ve figured out how to implement an API in such a way that it’s both completely secure and decentralized.
This will allow us to use 5-20 DASH random sub-quorum servers per request, instead of all of them as is the norm with the rest of the cryptographic currencies (each node must process each request individually).
That alone gives us a large leap in technological abilities that none of our competitors have, but combined with our decentralized storage mechanism we can enable large scale support of user-based storage.
This means our users data will live on the network and they can jump from their android Dash wallet, to a browser-based Dash wallet without losing information about their transaction histories, friends or private messages.

Technical details of the system are quite impressive alone, which is what we revealed at Bitcoin Wednesday in Amsterdam. However, that’s not really what is going to sell the system. We’re going to compete by making a new
type of cryptographic currency that is user-focused.

All components of cryptographic currency are being rethought. This is intended to be a platform that the rest of the world can use without being scared away by all of the
complicated cryptography happening behind the scenes. When a transaction comes into your wallet, it will say “Evan sent you 41DASH for Samsung 2005 TV”, not “41DASH from XrWaFt4YY3AevBoZWkmrQEYSAYwiUFodtB”.
The later scares away a large percentage of the population, because it looks complex and feels unsafe.

If we told everyone within the community every detail, we would steal our own momentum, so we’re going to show a proof of concept of this system in action at Bitcoin Miami. This is quite exciting because this is one
of the largest most influential conferences within the Bitcoin ecosystem and we hope to ignite a lot of interest.

DAPI will also include a vastly improved version of masternode blinding. All requests through the system can be blinded, so that they are redirected through the system to a masternode that doesn’t have any direct
contact with the end user. This is the reason we will not be building masternode-blinding into the v12 client.

Quote
Timeline and Milestones

The fact of the matter is that the outside overall community doesn’t have much of an understanding of the Dash project in it’s present state. Our website and pr strategy up to this point has been mostly
to cater to those already in the community. We’re going to retarget our strategy and build a website and pr strategy that is targeted at those outside of the community.
Many of us on the team have experience building companies and marketing to new users, we’re going to utilize this experience over the next few years to bring many new users into our space.

Even without Evolution, we would have done fantastic over the next few years due to Darksend, InstantX, Decentralized Governance and Budgeting and our Virtual Corporation. So we believe it’s key to get this
information about what the Dash project currently is, out in the open and well understood. This means, we actually have a nice window to develop Dash Evolution and we’re not in a hurry to launch it.
In fact, it’s to our benefit to make sure that Dash Evolution is absolutely perfect when we launch.

Milestones

Public Awareness - Phase I  - October 1st, 2015

Utilize the budget system to spread information about the Dash project all over the world. Hit as many conferences as possible, educate people if possible to understand the more technical aspects of Dash so they
can explain it to others.

Start designing a website and portal for all Dash related information to live.

Dash Evolution Development Begins  - October 15th, 2015

I will begin work on the new Dash Evolution framework. This consists of the basic architecture, classes and simply functionality that runs the system.

New Website - January 8th, 2016

The new website will be designed to be the place to go to keep up with Dash, get initiated with our project originally and keep up to date about everything happening in the network as well.
It will also be designed with converting new users into our ecosystem in mind.

Dash Evolution Phase II  - November 7th, 2015

Private internal development will begin on the Dash Evolution framework.

Dash Evolution Demonstration / Phase III - January 21 and/or 22, 2016*

We will demonstrate what our new technology is about, how it works and why it’s a huge leap ahead of anything else that exists presently.

Marketing & Sales Funnels  - February 1st, 2016**

We’re working with some companies to enhance our new-user experience to improve the way they flow through the system to get into our ecosystem.
By February the community should start seeing how all of this works for us.

* qwizzie : this should be the correct dates of the Miami Bitcoin Event in January 2016

** qwizzie : small correction in date

What happened to the "Dash Evolution Demonstration" which we were told would happen at  the Miami Bitcoin Event in January 2016?

That was over two years ago.  Since then we have seen absolutely nothing concrete regarding Dash EvoluSHAM.  Not a single line of code.  Not even a whitepaper.

Let me be clear.  Dash Evolution is a sham.  There is no evidence to the contrary.  And no (sorry Dash PaidShills), regurgitating the hand-waving blue-sky promises and entreaties of the overpaid and demonstrably incompetent DashCoreGroup does *NOT* count as concrete evidence they have made actual concrete progress towards EvoluSHAM deliverables.

This FUD thread hasn't aged well.  Coinbase is now bigger and more profitable than ever.

Never forget how paid Dash shills spread baseless FUD against Coinbase simply because that exchange refused to support Dash due to its high standards (NO INSTAMINED/CENTRALIZED HYIP SHITCOINS) for new coin listings.

O DashSpam, Where Art Thou?

Bloomberg posits that spammers are leaving Bitcoin to adopting centralized, Instamined, and more PaidShill-centered coins, citing a study conducted by Recorded Future. Over the past year, Bitcoin has lost scamvertisment usage and PaidShill dominance to the tune of 50%, according to Spammarketcap.com due to vigilant, aggressive moderation and high levels of community pushback. Recorded Future argues that Dash is among Bitcoin’s top potential replacements among anti-spam law evaders.

Big Evolution Delays Revealed by Dash Core Team Q4 Conference Call

After listening to the above-linked lengthy call by Dash Core to summarize Q4 of 2017, here were my top most important takeaways:

1: Evolution development delay updates
The question on everyone’s mind: why is Evolution coming out more than two years late? When is the roadmap getting an update? Core clarified that an updated roadmap would be released soon, but even Dash PaidShill Amanda B Johnson no longer believes a single word written on Dash roadmaps because they are always 100% worthless marketing hype and usually fail to meet self-imposed deadlines.

The Dash community needs to step up and ask their PaidShill to follow the forum rules against putting banner ads in Every. Single. One. Of. His. Spamvertistment. Posts.

iCEBREAKER..... I've already wasted enough time on you for today. Here is my reply. Don't take my kindness for weakness.

iCEBREAKER you're only here to troll and cause trouble. It's so sad, pathetic and desparate. You really shouldn't throw stones when you live in a glass house.

Why spend so much of your time hating something when you could be enjoying life doing something you love. To provoke such a response over such an insignificant trivial matter only exposes how weak and low you have sunk. Not one other person has complained. You're on your own and in the minority here on issue raised to no surprise. The hard truth is it makes absolutely zero difference to your daily life if that banner is posted or not. If it truly upsets you that much then there is a simple solution, leave. No one is forcing you to be here and ironically no one wants you here either.

You're just lonely and I know you only do this as you want me to respond because you have nothing else in life. Just give it up. If anyone needs reporting to moderators it's you, as your posting history on bitcointalk is just a trollfest cesspit of misery.

I genuinely don't know if I should laugh or cry for you. You've been at this for years and haven't made the slighest difference. I honestly think you need medical help. This type of behaviour isn't normal. I'm worried for your mental health. In all seriousness it might be worth considering a psychiatric assessment.

The years you have spent stalking and trolling this thread amongst others on bitcointalk is borderline psychotic. What a waste of life and sad excuse of a man you are. Like a petulant child intentionally being a nuisance craving attention.

The resentful hatred and nature of your postings reeks of disgruntled rejection. Why would an individual be so motivated to troll for this length of time is truly disturbing. It's actually beyond trolling now. It's stalking. It's proper weird and creepy. You really need help. Focus your time resolving the personal issue that led to this behaviour. Whatever happened to you whether it was a relationship breakdown, unemployment, perceived failure, depression, embarrassment or social isolation. You need to fix.

Just let it go and finally.....

I'm not sure why you cannot follow such a simple rule.  Do you think it makes Dash look good when it pays Shills like you to spam Bitcointalk?

It also makes the Dash community look bad when they refuse to ask their PaidShills to follow the forum rules against banner ads being used as in-post signatures.

That's two in a row, on the same day.  You don't need to make separate posts for each new spamvertisement.  Just edit your first one and add the second one.  No need to keep spamming the forum just to prove you can get away with it.

216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Does Dash's DAO Work? | DASH: Detailed on: February 16, 2018, 06:02:37 AM
Dash's key feature, the so-called DAO (decentralized governance), is determined by how many masternodes a Dash owner have (1000 Dash for each masternode), 1 masternode = 1 vote.

By insta-mining, it essentially allowed Evan Duffield and his friends to control the vast majority of masternodes and therefore the votes. They can vote for or against whatever proposal they want since they own way more than 50% of the votes. There is no "decentrazlied" governance when it's controlled by just a couple of people in the Dash Core (a company with a CEO lol). It's total bullshit.

What Evan Duffield did was very scummy too. He basically insta-mined Dash for 24 hours at extremely easy difficulty, then suddenly somehow he "discovered" that mining was too easy, and changed the mining algorithm so mining became much harder. But instead of restarting the project, he kept his insta-mined Dash. It was all a scheme to enrich himself.

More than 80% of the circulating supply of Dash was created within 24 hour. It's scary. There is no DAO (decentralized governance). It's fucking bullshit it's worse than Ripple. At least Ripple is open about being centralized. Dash is fraudulent.

I like MJ's idea of "walking down the street" to one of the two and asking nicely..worth a shot right?

See the other thread about this subject.  Highly unlikely that PCGS or NGC will every grade cryptos.

A couple years ago, it was considered highly unlikely APMEX would ever deign to accept Bitcoin.

But then Gainesville/JMbullion/Silvergoldbull/Silverround.com etc. started eating their lunch, and they bend their formerly proud Buttcoiner knees like good little thoroughly cucked nocoiners.

There are only so many Boomers left to keep the Big Two's duopoly in business until they have to deal with the noveau riche cryptorati.

The longer they hold out, the sweeter the taste of their eventual surrender and our inevitable victory.

Physical letters from PCGS/NCG saying they will never accept crypto collectibles will then become highly collectible... Tongue

219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 13, 2018, 11:58:58 PM

This is an interesting narrative.  And one I have not proven myself.  I have heard it is more true on asian dark net servers.  But I would think the latest addition of Monero at Dream (I think?) would fly in the face of this a little.  Dark net vendors are getting more savvy little by little.

Litecoin has historically been best positioned to absorb spillover from obsolete use cases excluded by Bitcoin's rise to power.  When Bitcoin was too slow for Bitpay to work (Xmas shopping season) I used Litecoin instead because it was the only option I wouldn't feel dirty touching (ETH? Nope.  Bcash? LOL git rekt.  Dash? Oh Hell naw!).  Cheesy

Despite my disdain for Vitalik's Bailout Fork, ETH has inserted/cemented itself into the primary spillover capture role ahead of Litecoin, but I expect LTC to make a comeback due to Lightning, cross-chain atomic swaps, and greater reliability/fungibility/decentralization proving its superior long-term fundamentals.

It's good for Monero that Litecoin is helping us break up the Bitcoin/Ethereum duopoly.  Once a market relents from its Bitcoin maximalist supremacist monopolist (or 'Muh Flippening') paradigm there is no more protectionism and every coin must compete for users based on its own merits.  That means cheap tx fees, quick confirms, low withdrawals fees, and extra features such as privacy.

Liberty Dwellers See Dash As Instamined Shitcoin

Liberty Dwellers, a Dash-sponsored strip club event, saw over 80 new Dash cult recruits, over a quarter of attendees, many of whom spent their Dash at the event.

That's two in a row, on the same day.  You don't need to make separate posts for each new spamvertisement.  Just edit your first one and add the second one.  No need to keep spamming the forum just to prove you can get away with it.

Ads are typically not allowed in posts (outside of the signature area) because they are annoying and off-topic. It is especially disallowed to put ads or signatures at the bottom of all of your posts. Except for traditional valedictions, which are tolerated but discouraged, signatures are for the signature area only.
