I agree with Devvie that something is wrong.

Look at the block explorer.  I thought POW was no longer accepted after block 10,000 but it appears that is not the case.  The past 2000 blocks were nearly all POW and zero value.  The total coin count is going down due to transaction fees, not going up from POS minting like it should be.

Total coins:

2036.261387 at block 11556 (2 days ago)
2035.911387 at block 13571 (now)

WTF?

We switched it to block 25k at the last second. That is my fault for not communicating it, I was still quoting block 10k we used for testing. We may fork it again to keep PoW active forever to keep the network moving

The supply will go down sometimes because fees are destroyed, not paid to miners. This is to offset the inflation caused by PoS, trying to keep us as close to 2014 coins as possible

So . . . why, in the past 2 days and 2,000 blocks has there been no stake generated on the network?

Bad luck. Big holders are probably moving coins. 25% is on Bittrex, so that is 1/4 of the possible staking not taking place. If a couple other big holders move, the network will look like it's having shitty luck

PoS is a lottery. Sometimes it will stake a lot, sometimes it won't. All depends where the coins are and for how long. Have any of you done the math to see if you are ahead of your schedule for 50% yearly? I'm asking that as a serious question, not to be a dick. I need numbers, not guesses

Yes I have done the math, and I have not generated enough stake in the past 9 days.  It was good, until 3 days ago when staking stopped.

"Bad luck" is not the reason.  As long as POW is active, anyone mining is "stealing" POS blocks from the network.  Someone is mining this coin with enough hashrate that there's no room for POS blocks to get in, and I'm guessing they started about three days ago.

Keeping POW active is a horrible idea.  A block is a block.  The network will move just fine on POS by itself as long as it's working properly.  If your network is POS only and your block time is 30 seconds, you'll get a POS block every 30 seconds, and transaction confirmations every 30 seconds.  This is, again, assuming everything is working properly.

If you are mining MMXIV right now to "help keep the network moving," STOP.

Anyone else having problems with staking lately?  I have not earned any stake in 3 days.  The little green icon in the corner of the wallet says "Estimated time to earn reward: 21 seconds" but I haven't received any.  Stake balance is zero (both in the GUI and getinfo).  Restarting the wallet doesn't seem to help.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] !MMXIV !Pure Proof of Stake !Multipool !Hard Fork for several PoS Fixes on: August 16, 2014, 07:12:59 AM
So I'm seeing something I am curious about. Say I started with 10 coins. I then earn a stake of 0.2 coins. And perhaps I receive a pool payout of 0.3 coins later that day. But now the age of the 10 coins is different than the 0.2 coins and the 0.3 coins.

So at some point, the 10 coins go to stake again but the 0.2 and 0.3 remain in my balance.

But then I think the 10 coins will generate another stake, let's say 0.2 again, and then the initial 0.2 and 0.3 will mature and I'll have 0.5 coins staking (perhaps at different times) and a lot of 10 and 0.2 coins in the balance. So I think you see where I'm going, is that there will be an increasing amount of "odd small lots" of coins staking and rotating through the process.

Is there any process by which the coins can all consolidate for the purpose of staking? Or will there be an increasing number of subsequently smaller lots of coins moving through the staking process and earning ever proportionately smaller stakes?

Unfortunately that is pretty much how staking works.  You can, periodically, transfer your entire balance to another wallet, or to Bittrex and back, to "re-consolidate" your coins.

I sometimes will close my wallet when I see that coins are missing from the front page. Once I start it back up everything shows where it supposed to be, just a suggestion to anyone.

thats how mine was working until yesterday now all coins stuck in staking despite none currently staking....so basically I very dodgy client Sad

Same problem here - almost my entire balance is stuck in "stake" now for almost a full day.  I am guessing because the network is so slow, we went six hours without a block today
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] !MMXIV !Pure Proof of Stake !Multipool !Hard Fork for several PoS Fixes on: August 14, 2014, 09:40:30 PM
Multipool is working great, been getting payments every day the past week.

Need to get some activity on Bittrex though, not much happening there other than a handful of buys from the multipool each day, and bots fighting over the spread

Now that the conversion to POS is complete, what are the next plans?

Now that FuelCoin is 100% POS, is there (or when will there be) a multipool available so I can mine FC2?

I can totally understand devvienuis' frustration.

Yes, the swap did go through flawlessly for the most part, but only for those of us who happened to be keeping tabs on this thread during the 3-4 day window between when you announced the swap and when Bittrex completed it.  After that, you pretty much removed everything in the OP regarding that there was a new blockchain, new wallet.  Without reading through this entire thread, you'd never know it happened.

Someone who hasn't checked this thread in awhile, or just happened to miss that 3-4 day window, if they looked at the OP right now, it sounds like there was a hard fork and all you need to do is download the new wallet.  No mention of a swap or anything, no mention that the original blockchain is now defunct and you need to contact MMXIV to get your coins swapped.

So we don't get any more angry MMXIV users in here spreading FUD and calling this a scam, I highly suggest you put something in the OP like this:

The original MMXIV blockchain has been replaced as of 8/1/2014, all new MMXIV addresses begin with "M".  If you are still using the original MMXIV wallet (address begins with a 1) please send a PM to MMXIV to get your balance swapped over to the new chain.

I sent this PM to the developer - op poster

Hope he responds finally Sad

HELLO,

I've been told I really need to be with you to get the coins from my old wallet into the new one... So here I am! How to proceed???

My received transactions were on 1J5XVoy32bgqGwro9jv1gjxxpDk6TL3QEN

1.73451028 MMXIV

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE with 50% I'm running hugely behind and I was eager to switch ASAP Sad

twitter.com/devnullius

I am curious how OTHERS got their coins exchanged??

Bittrex actually performed the swap for most of us.  Several pages back when the swap to the new blockchain was announced, the dev encouraged everyone to transfer their balance to Bittrex.  When the new wallet was released, Bittrex actually handled converting everyone's coins to the new blockchain, so whatever balance you had at Bittrex automatically changd over to the new coin.

But there was only a couple days notice of this, so for everyone else, he said to PM and he would provide instructions on how to verify your balance and transfer coins to your new MMXIV address.

I had my fuelcoin on bittrex, never downloaded a wallet.  Cant seem to pull my coins off the exchange.  Do I need to do anything or will bittrex take care of the swap?

You need to send a screenshot of your Bittrex balance to the FuelCoin dev team by submitting a request via the Contact Us form on their website:

There is something funky going on in my wallet . . .

When my coins go to stake, they sortof disappear for a little while.  My available balance + stake balance don't add up.  It's off by a LOT . . . my available balance will reduce by say 30 coins when those coins are staked, but my stake balance will show some tiny arbitrary amount like 0.74892167

They do come back after awhile, but it's kind of disturbing as it makes it look like coins have just vanished.  I seriously thought my wallet was compromised the first time I saw this.

If my available balance was 10 coins and 5 of them went to stake, my available should read 5 and my staked should read 5, correct?
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] !MMXIV !Pure Proof of Stake !Multipool !Hard Fork for several PoS Fixes on: August 11, 2014, 12:53:40 AM
Ok, I have been waiting for weeks for the Fork to PoS. Last Friday it stopped synchronizing so I immediately went for the new Wallet. 50% PoS!! BUT.. New wallet ignores the old wallet???

What to do, I'm rather panicking by now Sad

If I try to copy the old wallet to the new %AppData%\MMXIV2 folder, all I get is:
A fatal error occurred. MMXIV can no longer continue safely and will quit.

EXCEPTION: NSt8ios_base7failureE
CDataStream::read() : endo of data
C:\Program ...\MMXIV-Qt.exe in Runaway exception.

twitter.com/devnullius

The old wallet and new wallet are on different blockchains, the wallets are not compatible.  You need to send a PM to MMXIV to get your coins swapped over to the new chain (this REALLY needs to be in the OP).

Thanks for this great explanation!

Based on this here are the some calculations based on what people received and what they should have received.

Total Fuel Coins   4300000000
FC2 Coins   10000000
Member# Fuel CoinsFC2 Coins ReceivedMarket ShareFC2 Coins Calculated
Antonio839,4509160.0009%91.74418605
SumthngsWrong38000002420000.0884%8837.209302
Leber0262462691572710.0573%5727.188372

Market Share Fuel = Starting Coins/ Total Fuel Coins
FC2 Calculated = FC2 Coins * Market Share

Did I mess something? Either we have few typo's or people are receiving amounts different than their market share. Can anyone else report their conversion numbers because so far this isn't adding up.

Your "FC2 Coins Calculated" numbers are off by a factor of 10 - so far, in your list the only one who's numbers don't add up are SumthngsWrong, everyone else's look OK
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NEW FuelCoin - FC2 Re-Distribution x11/pos 2% interest on: August 09, 2014, 06:53:51 PM
New- FC2 received today! 3.8 mil converted to 242k- wow, that's drastic. But, hey- at least we can say our Developers have accomplished the task exactly as they said they would- every step of the way. I like being on-board with this coin.

That seems like a better rate than I had.

I had 2.4 Mil and ended up with 57K.

Does any one know what rate they converted at?

The rate they converted was based on percent of market cap, so proportionally you would still have the same number of coins as you did before.

The old FUEL market cap was about 4.3 billion coins.  If you had 430 million FUEL, that would be 10% of the total market cap, thus you would receive 10% of the total market cap of FC2 (10 million coins)

2.4 million = 0.0005581 of total market cap (0.05581%)
0.05581% of 100 million = 55,810

The number above I'm sure is a little different than yours because I don't have exact amounts - but that is where they got ~57k coins from your ~2.4 million.  Basically, before the swap you owned 0.05581% of the total FUEL market share, and now you still own the same percent of share in FC2.

A better (and less prone to error) solution probably would have been to figure out a conversion rate as you mentioned - percent market cap of FC2 versus FUEL, which is 0.023255.  This number times your FUEL would yield the correct number of FC2.

2.4 million * 0.023255 = 55,812

As to why SumthngsWrong received 242k for his 3.8 million - that definitely does not sound right, he should have received around 88k.  I am guessing (hoping?) for a typo somewhere in his post.
