Why Spread discount ? Why? Why?

I see no "team spread", there is only one person left. If you really want to revive SPR, get a couple of coders together and talk to the current dev to hand to project over to you.

Of course it is possible for somebody to take over SPR but the reality is that the SPR code is so far out of date and in such need of core updates that it is beyond economical repair.

This is why most of the SPR team left to develop their ideas on Crown over a year ago and Coins101 decided to start from scratch with Helium.

If SPR was worth saving, believe me...the old SPR team would have done.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Electroneum a SCAM??? on: October 21, 2017, 04:41:36 PM
It was definetly not a scam, it has raised a lot of money. Not clear why someone could have believed it was a scam, but after all also Ethereum in the beginning was considered a scam by many.

LOL.  I don't think for a second that Electroneum is a scam but could you explain how raising a lot of money stops it from being one?!
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Electroneum a SCAM??? on: October 20, 2017, 11:17:49 AM
Electroneum is one of the few ICOs that ends before the actual date. To me, it's a really good sign, as the early adopter are really hyped by the project.
Why would your create FUD around a genuine project like this ? There's no point in doing that, it does look like a really serious cryptocurrency to me. You know, Bitcoin can't be the only one... There's a real need of diversity in blockchain market, so that it can be a healthy market, without a risk of price manipulation by BTC whales...
We already suffered from China's dick moves, we have seen how much damage a handful of people can ruin something.

I prefer Electroneum over any BTC hardfork, by far ^^

Well, I'm being very careful to post my opinions and I'm quoting media comments on the project.  I'm hardly FUDing.

I just find it hard to stomach people saying that the whitepaper is amazing when its mostly descriptions of features that other projects invented.

I stand to be corrected.  Electroneum might have a killer feature hidden away that they will reveal after launch.  Time will tell.

Bloomberg has taken a stance too:

https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2017-10-13/icos-marxism-and-credit-reports

Quote
It is the pure Spinal Tap theory of money supply: Why not give everyone more coins, and make the coins worth less? Who's to say that they're wrong? My Bloomberg colleague Joe Weisenthal has his own mostly-joke cryptocurrency, Stalwartbucks, whose specification notes that "To make it easier for everyone to become a billionaire, each raw coin is designated as a Billion Stalwartbucks." It's as good an explanation as you'll get for many ICOs.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Electroneum a SCAM??? on: October 20, 2017, 09:38:34 AM
The only people who call it scam are the ones who haven't studied the project properly.

Don't forget the Financial Times which is writing skeptical articles about Electroneum.

You might have your doubts about investing in cryptocurrencies, but if a man who has spent his entire life thinking about football can’t persuade you to speculate on a risky financial scheme then nothing will.

And what a scheme it is! Electroneum is a “mobile cryptocurrency” and the brainchild of Richard Ells, whose past experience includes SiteWizard, whose services include web design, and Retortal, which makes a social media management tool and is apparently valued at over $50m. (Who values it at over $50m is unclear. The company has no outside investors and made just £10,000 of profit in the year to May 2016, according to Companies House documents.)

Quote
But his general message is clear. This is a wildly speculative venture led by a guy who has little experience with cryptocurrencies...

Quote
The fundraising has been driven by an aggressive marketing program that makes little effort to remind people they might lose their shirt.

Quote
The Electroneum Twitter account is happily pumping the sale without ever having once mentioned the word “risk”, as in “your capital is at risk”:

Quote
Who knows, all of this might get so exciting that even the FCA starts to pay attention…

Quote
Imagine the look on the faces of everyone who has spent years working on bitcoin when they discover they’ve been using the wrong number of decimal points. Imagine the look on their faces when they discover that Ells has finally managed to build a cryptocurrency wallet that is “literally impossible to hack”. Literally impossible!
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Electroneum a SCAM??? on: October 20, 2017, 09:33:51 AM
Just a few observations here.

- Many of the posts on this thread are a little suspicious.

- Its interesting that none of the major exchanges, i.e the ones who scruitinise ICOs closely are not happy to list Electroneum.

- First British cryptocurrency?  Its not even the fiftieth British cryptocurrency.

- Mobile mining?  Done before, fell flat.  Kills battery life or not technically viable due to centralisation issues.

- Games console mining?  Done before, inefficient, hardware isn't suitable for crypto mining. Manufacturers previously would not approve mining software on their app stores.

- Dev team is almost 100% marketing focussed.  Obviously this could be a good thing if backed up with plans for a great platform.

- Negative trust points for using a photo of somebody posing on a private jet to demonstrate his success. Cringeworthy.

- Supporting untraceable payments causes enormous legal problems given that Electroneum are UK based and keep mentioning their links to big names in the city. Our project wasn't even allowed through the door of a UK bank until we removed untraceable payments from our code.

- The whitepaper is 95% showing off about features that have been reused from other projects. Very little new stuff in there. All feels very 2015 to me.

I'm genuinely struggling to find what the USP of this platform is, apart from being heavily marketed.

I am watching with genuine interest with how this is going to go.  Marketing will only carry it for so long.  I wish them well, as it clearly isn't a scam.  However, I get the feeling that this project will have to stop being all mouth and no trousers at some point if it is going to succeed long term.  If it does fail, which I think is more likely than not (hardly an unfair comment seeing as 80% of ICOs fail) it will do more damage to crypto than good given the efforts they have made to attract adoption outside of the usual crypto investors.

I do certainly appear to have been incorrect with my initial thoughts about this service.

A few years ago, when was launched, SPR was a promising coin, still can be. It survive in this jungle (cryptoworld) ....

when georgem brings out the developments ...

it will be ...

until then - its just another project ... like a lot projects we all have ...

#crysx

Its well over a year since he announced his roadmap, i'm sure a mega release or at very elast an update will be due any....day....now....

yup ...

agreed Smiley ...

#crysx

And apparently it is sour grapes that is grinding this coin into the ground. I thought it was cockroaches.  I can't keep track anymore.

And developers will not leave it.

lol, that's because most of the dev team left over a year ago.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Systemnode Estimated Rewards on: October 16, 2017, 08:55:31 AM
Here's a spreadsheet showing the number of CRW a single Systemnode can expect to earn for a given number of Systemnodes on the network.

I suspect that Trons will start to receive a higher reward again after a few thousand SNs have been set up although its impossible to estimate exactly when.  This will be near to our first Zuck Equilibrium!

212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Details of System Node Release on: October 16, 2017, 08:20:46 AM
Details of Systemnode Release

Crown Core Team

16th October 2017

What is a Systemnode?

A Systemnode is a server on the Crown network that is secured by collateral and provides services that support applications and services published via Crown Atomic. The operator of a Systemnode will be rewarded a portion of the block reward in return for providing those services.

Why are Systemnodes necessary?

Under the Crown Atomic architecture, Tron Masternodes are focused on transaction confirmations and application verifications.  In order to provide any services, there is a requirement for a swarm of application provider nodes.  These are Systemnodes.

How many Systemnodes will there be?

There is a desire (but not strict requirement) for there to be more Systemnodes than Tron Masternodes. We have designed the relationship between Systemnodes and Tron Masternodes to negotiate their own equilibrium of numbers but our expectation is that numbers will stabilise at between 4,000 and 5,000 Systemnodes and between 1,000 and 2,000 Tron Masternodes. The community and network will ultimately decide on the natural levels.

Are there other benefits to Systemnodes?

An ideal community should have more small token holders than large token holders.  The price of a Tron Masternode has exceeded $15,000 which is far too high a cost of entry to participate on the Crown network. The decision has been made to require smaller collateral for a Systemnode and to offer a greater relative reward for operating a Systemnode compared to a Tron Masternode in order to encourage more people to participate and join the Crown community.

What kind of tasks will Systemnodes perform?

The possibilities are endless.  The core team will release NTP timekeeping as the first Systemnode service in order to cater for the future planned consensus mechanism change.  The community will be free to develop their own utilities for Systemnodes to perform.

How much will it cost to run a Systemnode and what is the reward?

The Crown Core Team does not advise that a Systemnode or a Tron Masternode is an investment.  The value of Crown tokens might go down. Past value trends do not indicate future performance.  The number of Crown tokens that you receive for operating either kind of node will vary according to the number of nodes on the network at the time.

A Systemnode will require 500 CRW collateral and will receive 10% of the block reward.  This change will be at the expense of the miners.  The block reward can be summarised as follows:

RoleReward
Miner3.6 CRW
Tron Masternode4.5 CRW
System Node0.9 CRW
Proposal Fund1 CRW
Total:9 CRW (1 CRW per block reserved for proposal funding)

What is required to run a Crown Systemnode from a technical perspective?

People familiar with Tron Masternode setup will be familiar with Systemnode setup.

A unique IP is required for a Systemnode.  Each community member will be able to run one Systemnode in their local wallets if they choose, but a VPS is recommended as the prefered platform as the Systemnode wallet must be online 24/7 to provide services and receive rewards.

At this time, a single core 512Mb RAM VPS with 20GB of storage is the recommended minimum.  It may be possible to use less but this will not be supported by the core team. In the future, as usues grow, the hardware requirements will increase significantly.

A breakdown of possible Systemnode rewards is shown in the spreadsheet that partners this document.

How will the Crown Network change?

We expect the chance to participate in the Crown network with less collateral than a Tron Masternode and generous rewards to be attractive to a lot of crypto enthusiasts and small businesses alike. The expectation is that a large number of Systemnodes will be set up.

A Systemnode will earn disproportionally more rewards for their staked collateral compared to a Tron Masternode in order to encourage more Systemnodes to be set up.  For example, somebody who uses 10,000 CRW to run 20 Systemnodes will receive more rewards than somebody who uses 10,000 CRW to run a single Tron Masternode (at the current masternode count).

If some Tron operators decide to split his or her Trons into Systemnodes, then the Tron count would drop, and the Tron reward would increase for the other Tron operators. Similarly, the Systemnode reward would drop as the Systemnode count increases.  The network will find a natural equilibrium of node numbers.

It is difficult to guess where that equilibrium will be but the intention is for there to many more Systemnodes than Tron Masternodes.

We have decided to name the node equilibrium point the “Zuck Equilibirum” in honour of the person who devised the mechanism for the Tron and Systemnode relationship.

When will Systemnodes be released?

Systemnodes are already in the Crown testnet undergoing public testing.  Systemnodes will be released during November 2017.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: October 13, 2017, 09:18:50 PM

Is there any reason why other developers, perhaps previous SPR team members, can't simply proceed to develop Spreadcoin and move the project forward without Georgem?

Since Georgem probably runs the website, has the Github, the spreadcointalk forum site and this ANN thread, that's hard. At that point, you are better off to think about forking off SPR to a new coin... could be named HLN or something like that.

Ideally, Georgem would either work with a new team or step aside, but that's both unlikely.

Georgem has repeatedly refused to work with other people.  He once said that the only person he would work with was gjhiggins but you can see for yourself how that relationship is going.

There is no need for a SPR fork.  In any case, the distribution for SPR is looking a bit worrying. The majority of the SPR core team moved on to Crown which has made huge progress in the last year and the remainder have started Helium.  I'm sure Helium will also go on to do good things in time.

Its just George left here now. Anybody who has tried to help him has been insulted and maligned and has moved on.

Ask yourself this.  What progress is there to show from the last two years? The codebase is several Bitcoin core releases behidn where it needs to be.  Literally the only thing that has been delivered is a vanitygen that nobody really wanted.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: October 13, 2017, 09:16:38 PM
Of the original SPR team, only one member held SPR at the time of the HLM swap. Two, if Georgem still holds SPR.

Is there any reason why other developers, perhaps previous SPR team members, can't simply proceed to develop Spreadcoin and move the project forward without Georgem?

I'm asking as a non-developer who doesn't fully understand how open-source development works.

There's nothing to save.  At the moment, you have one person who controls all the public identity of spreadcoin.  As far as I have seen, there has been no code progress for over a year and anything that does exist is on Georgem's raspberry pi testnet.

As far as I am concerned, there is nothing worth saving here.  Sad but true.  This is why the entire SPR team (apart from Coins101) sold their SPR over a year ago and moved on to greener pastures. Although to be fair, I did think there was a chance that Georgem would deliver something back then...I just didn't trust that he had the experience to deliver something that anybody actually wanted.

Just to be clear, I posted a message earlier that was needlessly derogatory to somebody  and I regretted it so I have deleted it.

217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HLM] HELIUM - PRE NOTICE on: October 12, 2017, 10:48:20 AM
What I really don't understand is why devs did not discuss thoroughly with some major exchanges that would have facilitated the SPR-HLM snapshot and hence gave some confidence to the participants. Cryptopia is such small exchange and rather unknown to some.

You are simply assuming. Here's what the team had to say on 2017-10-03:

>The reason why we are not using Bittrex is due to the changing regulatory landscape and the internal decisions that stemmed from that (more background checks on coins to be listed, legal requirements and potential lawyers, increased site security and KYC and AML applications). All of these changes put listing a new coin / administering an air drop to a much lower priority from Bittrex's perspective.

AFAIK, they were in talks with trex to be the leading exchange for the swap, but then they noped out ouf it because HLM is too small for them at a time where they are strained. So they had the fall-back to topia, which is not a bad choice, considering its in the same country and quite well-run.

At some point there was a big hoo haa because HLM said that Bittrex would do the swap but Bittrex said that they agreed no such thing. It could have been an honest mistake but Bittrex insisted that they never had a conversation with HLM.  That is where the negotiations started to go sour.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-Crown Cryptocurrency on: October 11, 2017, 04:17:32 PM
And the next thing is that mined E-crowns are on the E-crown foundation when E-Crown will be on the exchange and it will be worth the price use for development. We also have to live

I send all coins in one adress , This adress is E-crown foundation? check adress in blockchain explorer ,,Eg2bQk9YMNpW1W3tKzhEfV2tnXZhtTU58C,,

And all pool donors coins i send in E-crown foundation

Cool, I really suggest you put that in the OP so people can see you are being transparent.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-Crown Cryptocurrency on: October 11, 2017, 03:48:49 PM
the block is stuck Cry

Its not stuck, the difficulty is just too high. When the dev turned off his own miner he left the difficulty too high for other people to mine.  If he turns his miner on again the chain will move.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-Crown Cryptocurrency on: October 11, 2017, 03:47:25 PM
why was not it published? because I tested a network, it took me a long time to do what I think it is best for people to prepare Mining Pool, Block Chain explorer and Online Wallet than to share only the source code or the unfinished project. i compiling now new e-crown wallet for windows ,,for linux is now new wallet

Are you new to crypto?  It is generally very badly thought of if a dev mines his own coin before announcing it to the public.  People consider it to be unfair.

Just wanted to give you a heads up that people might have a problem with your pre mine and the fact that you are actually the fourth Czech person to release a cryptocoin called Crown and that two of those projects failed and one of those projects has evolved and is alive and strong (see my sig).

Anyway, genuinely wishing you luck.  I get the feeling you're in this for the right reasons.
