Both Wolf0 and ElioVP have decoded the timings Smiley
Editing bios is near impossible because it needs to be signed, good luck with that.

I have nothing to do with that  Grin Grin
Nice to hear they did it.

PBE v3 is Great really fine tuned my bios, thank you for your work Matthew! my Only question is When Vega?
Thx. You can write review here https://mining-bios.eu/product/polaris-bios-editor-3-pro-pbe-3-pro-performance-timings/#tab-reviews  Smiley
I don't have any Vega, my friend is developing Vega bios editor, but he is stuck and probably won't be able to decode the timings. From what I know even Wolf0 and Eliovp weren't able to do it.
There might be support for RX500x series if it ever will come out not just OEM and we will see what RX600 series will be. RX650/660 or so might still be Polaris but high ends will probably use GDDR6 instead of GDDR5.

Sorry about the screenshot, I was so tired with my work, I have make a test with gigabyte hynix , no more change, Baffin models this is very nice (500H/s without OC) but not keep this hashrate for a long time hashrate drop to 300H/s, same for lexa models. For now I keep my bios (reach 480H/s no drop), waiting a update for rx550 models

Too high memory clocks, it is nothing uncommon with Elpida. 480H/s is still awesome result for RX550.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [rx580 8G Nitro] atiflash: Adapter not found on: September 10, 2018, 08:00:04 AM
Hi all,

I'm just trying to achieve what can be read everywhere in the www: mining ETH with 30MH/s with this card. I am mining with Linux/Ubuntu/rxOC, tried ohgodatool but it seems I can not move around a BIOS mod.

So right now I am trying but I even fail at the first step, wich is backup the original BIOS. When trying 'atiflash -i' I get 'Adapter not found'. Tried in Ubuntu with atiflash 4.07, also bootable dos stick. I can only find threads where people bricked their cardsa after trying to flash the BIOS but I ain't even tried so that is strange. Someone has an idea?

BR
Do you flash cards on Windows or Linux? Make sure you use the latest Atiflash.

It might be bad card

Testing PBE 3.0 , seems to have a issue after clicking on Timing Patch with RX550 card or this is normal?

Screenshot for RX550 Gigabyte Hynix:

Same for RX550 Sapphire Pulse but with a bonus message:

Thank you in advance.
Next time pls write to my e-mail. You will get faster answers and this is not meant as thread for my PBE it is for free bios modding. If you are in hurry and got big problem also Telegram.
It is normal for lot of cards it lower voltages. Power saving option is better since it also tweak clocks.
That is not a bonus msg  Grin It is timing pick, not sure if the first one will work with 550, but try it, if you answer no you will get other one that should work.
RX550 aren't very compatible with this PBE for now, I rework it for RX560 and RX550 will be hopefully soon too.
BTW that's not Hynix, but Elpida (right upper corner).

Iridium just added to Cryptunit.com  Smiley

Compare IRD wih other Cryptonight coins (more than 40).

 Is the mining algo the new Monero or the old one? v7 I think its called?
Yeah, XTL use CN v7 algo.

For these phishing links is Cryptonite browser addon the best. They also start private ICO.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: September 06, 2018, 06:54:57 AM
absolutely a scam, Asic can not add new algrithm unless is it preprogramed.

Someone will write the algorithm of cn v7, in the n series has completed the reverse engineering and compilation of the firmware, only the formula of the lack of algorithm

baikal N It's not exactly asic, but fpga + asic in pascal.cl
File on file deceives mine pool forged pascal graphics card
I'm not sure, but there will be new Monero algo next month and probably most forked coins will use it too.

Where can I download original Polaris Bios Editor?
This link https://github.com/jaschaknack/PolarisBiosEditor - not work.
Tried to google it... but found this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4630337
So I'm afraid to download it from not official site...

For some reason the Github repository of the 'jaschaknack' PolarisBiosEditor was deleted some time ago. I guess the only way you will get a copy is from someone who has a copy - with all the associated risks involved.
Another version of PBE is available here, https://github.com/vvaske/PolarisBiosEditor/releases
I've uploaded changed version of the PBE 3 PRO it is based on the 1.6.7 and 1.7.0 with the original timings used in this thread and later in PBE 1.6.x.
https://github.com/IndeedMiners/PolarisBiosEditor/releases Also included in first post now.
Nobody knows why it was delete, but some of the 1.6.7 was build with trojans so it might be something in common. I've checked this version and it should be fine it only connect to Github to check version, but somebody might take an advantage of that connection and infect the PC. I might later delete that function.

I can only assure you that PBE 3 is with no viruses, some antivirus report false positive alerts, but only connection it does is to license server and it's via SSL.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hive OS - new Linux GPU mining platform on: September 04, 2018, 02:54:43 PM
Do you have a specific guide on how to set OC?
It is much easier with Windows since you can watch memory errors in HWinfo, but you can watch for GPU errors and stability in Linux and change the memory OC depend on this.

Mattthev Yes for best Mod Bios OC Windows is better but HiveOS is not bad at all.
GPU error can be found in GUI so it is possible to modify OC to find the weak spot of the GPU and find the best OC settings.
Wow nice. I didn't know that Hive OS have memory errors report.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [POW] [XHV] Haven Protocol - untraceable payments x stable value storage on: September 04, 2018, 12:18:13 PM
Most people do not know that XHV will be a great thing after XMR!
Who doesn't buy now, will cry later because the bear market is going away and things will get hot. Grin
I think $100 per XHV won't be absurd when it's possible to save my dollar values in XHVD.
Well maybe when XMR will have 10k USD  Cheesy Grin
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][$LOKI] Loki - Private Transactions & Comms on: September 04, 2018, 07:01:56 AM
quick question, is loki mining more core or memory intensive ?
AMD vs. nVidia cards?
any suggestion for a good miner on ubuntu 18?

thx
Loki uses CN-Heavy algo developed by RYO currency developers. AMD cards have better hashrate but Nvidias have better hashrate to power consumption ratio.
It uses mainly memory so let's say the more memory the better. RX5xx with 8GB will perform much better than 4GB same for RX560 with 4GB and 2GB.
Ubuntu is not the best choice, if you want Linux use mining distro.

Thanks for the guide  currently I am trying the xmrig for my 1050ti to mine for monero.

Tho can you give me some suggestions for the config? Since my PC seems to be laggy for this default setting from xmrig miner

Code:
{
    "algo": "cryptonight",
    "background": false,
    "colors": true,
    "donate-level": 1.0,
    "log-file": null,
    "print-time": 60,
    "retries": 5,
    "retry-pause": 5,
    "threads": [
        {
            "index": 0,
            "threads": 46,
            "blocks": 18,
            "bfactor": 8,
            "bsleep": 25,
            "affine_to_cpu": false
        }

Current power that I am getting as well is 310h/s
I don't have 1050ti neither use XMRig, but you have to change threads and blocks, probably lower them if it's not stable.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate RX 570 on: September 03, 2018, 07:20:53 AM
Thanks; got to roughly ~120w/card after compensating for losses @ the power supply.
1150
850mv
2100 memory
mostly hynix, one elpidia

Simple mining nor Hive have memory  undervolting option so may have to try the overdriventool.

If it's stable for few days, you can also try lower voltages than that.

For XMR is Vega the Best.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate RX 570 on: September 02, 2018, 11:34:51 AM
bumping thread...

I just got a setup stable mining @30/card (ethereum only), but seems to be consuming ~140w/card.  Anyone have similar numbers at lower wattage? Thought these things would mine high 20's at 80 w?

one click bios

1200 core
877 mv
2100 memory

~140w per card seems a bit much.
Have you undervolted both core and memory?
If not, try undervolting memory to 900mV, and if it's stable, try lowering voltage until you find max undervolt.
On this link there is tutorial how to undervolt using OverdriveNtool https://mining.help/

He uses 877mV.
If you undervolt memory to 900mV you can save like 10W at wall, depends on memory type with Samsungs you can go even to 850mV or with most of them. Under 100W with RX 5xx you can go only when you mine Monero and other CN coins. Not really with ETH.
Go below 1180MHz and try 800mV you should be hitting 120W or maybe a bit higher like 820mV depends on card.
Overdriventool is great.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Monero GPU mining, is it worth it? on: September 02, 2018, 11:31:40 AM
If you want to try mining you can buy some used cheap mobo with Skylake or newer Celeron and RX460/560 4GB or even 2GB for Monero, it won't cost much. Or if you want it even cheaper and don't much care about power consumption you can grab some old Core 2 DUO desktop from ebay or even i3, i5, is cost like 50-75 USD but watch for PSU it has to be enough for at least one GPU card or you need to buy better one. Connect GPU and you can happily mine with very cheap rig.
