2001  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A long journey taken short - first and last journal entry of a failed trader. on: March 01, 2020, 03:30:00 PM
Well. Here i am. 28K in the hole, 240 euros left after 2 years of trading. 10k in bank loans. 18k investment from my father. "Bitcoin is going to be the best thing dad. I can trade it up for us. This time next year, we will be millionaires. I'll make you proud. I'll make you enough money to retire" Fuck!!! I've completely fucked that up!! And here I am still lying, still telling him it is doing great. Not even sure where to begin in telling him.
I can feel your pain and the problems you are going through because of the loss you suffered with trading but believe me for once, your parents are the ONLY ones who care for you, rest everyone is living for themselves and if you tell this story to a stranger you know what they will do?

They will try to get out the remaining 240 euros you mentioned. Such is this world, you can't honestly expect any help from outside to solve inner problems. Please have a big heart and try to confess what has happened to your father and believe me his anger would be only temporary but if you live with the guilt inside, you will feel the pain forever.
2002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you tried explaining provable fairness to old-school gamblers? on: March 01, 2020, 07:26:44 AM
I once tried to explain how the modern-day gambling is good because of probably fair mechanism but that person ignored my arguments and simply saying that "ball is in their court and they can do whatever they want". It means they are still believing that crypto gambling is just a rigged one regardless of whatever things we are having in the name of probably fair mechanism. I believe we must need more simple things to show them what probably fair things are.
Ball is in their court, now since they gave this example let's assume that he watches basketball and does the home team always win in NBA? Obviously no because there are referee (although I heard some of the refs are rigged) and that's how gambling works, we deposit money to a casino then we obviously trust them and if we trust them that much there is no harm trying to test the provably fair system as suggested by the casino.

I was able to find a quick link for a guide and don't know if it's accurate but here it goes - https://dicesites.com/provably-fair

But I do agree with you that provably fair games can be tough to explain since not everyone is familiar with seeds, sha algorithms and other key parts. I remember when I tried to explain to an online buddy of mine, he said what "probably fair"? Lol they don't even believe there is something called as provably fair.
2003  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bull and bear market. on: February 29, 2020, 06:36:03 PM
There is a bull and bear market. In which market is it hypothetically possible to make more money? In which of these two markets do people usually make a profit? And how to determine the beginning and end of one of the markets?
Meehn, you don’t have to be told that the most profit comes during the bulls time, especially for traders that are trading on a long term. Imagine when you invest in bitcoin, Ethereum or any other coin at the lowest and decide to Hodl and after sometime there happens to be a bull run?

You’re going to be making lots of profit. Just like the bull we have seen in the past few months. After a big fall starting from 2018, the prices later recovered and I know for sure that there are people that were able to make profit all this while. Even short term traders are making more profit during bull run.
2004  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency trading with flash loans on: February 29, 2020, 05:53:00 PM
When it comes to cryptocurrency, anything that has to do with loans, you must give a collateral for it and the collateral you’re giving is your cryptocurrency which will be an amount that is worth what you’re about to borrow. And then I’m a type of person that doesn’t like taking loans because I’m afraid of what might happen after you have taken the loan.

Trading with a borrowed is quite some risk, how do you even whether you’re going to make profit or lose the money? You don’t even know about that for sure, so it’s a big risk. There are still companies that can give cryptocurrency loans if you want, like Nexo.io.
2005  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Want to learn trading on: February 29, 2020, 04:42:55 PM
Do tell me if there is any course available online, free or paid? Maybe in Udemy?
Would be a real help. Thanks!
Maybe you can check Udemy like you have said and see whether they have any course that has to do with cryptocurrency trading or not. And if they do have such a course, as long as they are charging for it they will try to offer services that are really good. You can also search for helpful articles by using Google or going on YouTube to watch videos about cryptocurrency trading.

seems like you are not that interested about this question ,because after few question in this thread leaving just like that and gives no attention again
Lol seriously, it’s not a must that he will reply every single comment on this thread. He can decide to just be reading the comments on the thread and not stress himself with reply. And there are already lots of comments here and they are almost saying the same thing, so not necessary. He should be looking for where to learn.
2006  Economy / Economics / Re: Are socialized healthcare and higher education inevitable? on: February 29, 2020, 11:50:22 AM
I guess that is an American issue to be honest. Socialized healthcare is a must because the topic is people's life, not like roads or something, when you collectively all pay a higher tax, that kind of returns back to you as profit in the long run because there are less dead people who keep contributing to the economy, there are less bankrupted people who keep working to contribute, there are less sick and unable.

So, basically in the long run when you remove all the middleman with insurance, when you remove all paper work, when you cap the profits of the big pharma that can sell a vial of insulin for 8 bucks in Canada but cross the border to 300 type of stuff, when your hospital doesn't charge you 20k for a toothache type of stuff.

You will see that it doesn't cost that much and it is actually quite cheap. Why it costs so much in USA is just pure profit purposes, when you regulate and limit those, eventually stuff that costs 10 trillion now would cost couple hundred billion at most, and when people who pay thousands and thousands of dollars in insurance and other stuff will in return pay less for taxes.

ALL of us in other nations are currently capable of doing this and we actually provide a good quality service as well. It is bonkers that Americans think that is not possible over there.
2007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you see Markets on Gambling Sites? on: February 29, 2020, 08:40:33 AM
That's why they created that but I don't see any gambling site offering a merchandise promotion since the one I see is the exchangers but they are not selling it but instead they are giving it to the lucky winners as a part of their promotions.
Look there are certain reasons why people do buy it, suppose you had won a big amount on any gambling website and/or you just love the website for example no matter what happens my love for primedice will never die so if I have to spend a few bucks to get their merchandise or collectibles then I would be happy to do so.

everyone have different opinion unto this since same as you I don't really care about those merchandise since there's nothing we can do with that and provably the price is expensive and not worth to buy.
You may be right but I feel in more cases there would be a huge discount of these merchandise because selling their brand they also get free marketing when the customer uses it.
2008  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to get lucky ;) on: February 28, 2020, 04:31:00 PM
All other points are just a psychological thing in my understanding because you cannot basically do anything other than making your will power to work for yourself. Being positive about being lucky may work or may not work, still you cannot blame anyone.
Yes, luck is just another psychological thing hence it needs psychological approach. There will be nothing wrong being positive about being lucky so that at least you can find differences in your gambling results.

Believe it or not, I have won many times just because of positive approach. Once I made a bet on sportsbetting for no result even without checking any weather forecast/news, still that match was cancelled for heavy rain and I got my profits. It was just a good example of how our instincts will work for ourselves. I'm not sure that I will repeat the same thing but I believe when you are confident about what you're doing then you will be positive and then you will be making things on your way Cheesy.
2009  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have an idea in percentage how big gambling industry's contribution? on: February 28, 2020, 02:04:44 PM
In entire crypto market? At least on this forum, we are having more number of gambling campaigns against any other services. But, that does not guarantee that people are converting their fiats for gambling purposes or new people are entering into crypto space for the reason of gambling.

Do you have any track of a famous gambling house started accepting crypto payments in recent times? I mean if we see any such thing then we can assume houses are trying to expand their business by covering crypto people.

In my observation, I do see big number of gamblers online in most gambling sites compared what I have seen some 2 years back. It means more people are gambling than the past years. Also, I have read on this forum that many people had entered into this forum after realizing the benefits of gambling with cryptos like after many bitter experiences with fiat based gambling. It means gambling helps people to adopt cryptos for its own reasons.
2010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling or Casino gambling? on: February 25, 2020, 08:24:33 PM
In my country no casino is ready to accept cryptos for gambling bankroll and I am a crypto enthusiast which makes me to be an online gambler regardless of my friends are still preferring visiting physical casino for enjoying their gambling.

Another reason why I want to gamble online is, I have observed that I am making decent profits with online gambling whereas in real casinos is always making me frustrated out of losses. I am not sure how to verify their rounds but with online crypto gambling, we are having provably fair mechanism to ensure that we are safer environments rather than gambling in a rigged houses.
2011  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin good for the economy? on: February 25, 2020, 07:47:57 PM
Isn’t Bitcoin already a medium of exchange? The main purpose that it was created was to be used for transactions. And it can as well be used as a store for value, that’s if you want. Anything can be used as a store of value as long it’s valuable. The only problem with Bitcoin is that it is very volatile. But it has been profitable in the last decade. If you stored your value with Bitcoin since 2009 by now you have probably gotten more than what you invested.

So, Bitcoin can almost fit in to the requirements you have stated here, but the only problem I think is making it hard for the government to allow it is because of regulation. Regulation is very important, since they can’t control Bitcoin they don’t see any need for it.
2012  Economy / Economics / Re: Corona Virus is a Fake Flag to destroy China! on: February 25, 2020, 07:13:08 PM
Does China know about this? I mean someone should go tell them that they are getting destroyed! With the 1+ trillion dollars in profit, I think they may end up with a wrong idea that they are doing fine Cheesy. Let's just calm down guys, you are making this to a bigger deal, I know corona is far from over and it is spreading towards the world right now with the news of people dying in other nations as well, but do not remember this is just an evolved flu.

I am not even kidding, go search for it and you will realize that this is literally just a very evolved version of the common flu, that's it. Sure it is a lot harsher and difficult to get better which is why people die but with the amount of medicine technology we have, in 10 years this will be like taking a pill and feeling better in couple days type of thing, just wait it out.
2013  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New projects are now showing up on: February 25, 2020, 05:39:19 PM
Becareful fellas, new projects are now showing up just because of the Bitcoin hype growing around the internet, the FOMO is alive and no one wants to miss out, now new projects are joining the train as well, behold 'its all about money making' ,do not entirely put your trust in new projects, even new bounties are showing up too, I pity you if you don't know how to patiently do some research
Nothing new here from what I have seen and experienced in 2017. When bitcoin enters into its bull run, we will be seeing lots of new people are coming in to crypto space just for making money in the name of ICOs or in all of the possible means. The pathetic situation here must be, the scammers are making themselves well-hidden by having how the real devs are looking-like which makes the innocent investors to filter them out very hard.

In my opinion, we do not need any new coin without any innovative feature or without solving a problem which was not addressed yet by bitcoin or any other leading reputed coin. When we start ignoring all the copycat, then probably we can have very healthy environment in this altcoin space. Only when we are looking for easy money out of non-perfect projects, the scammers are getting easier to steal our money.
2014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you heard about Super Blackhole? on: February 25, 2020, 04:57:26 PM
Other than this much very little supply, what other features they are having in their project?
Devs are becoming too smart these days and this is the reason they are coming up with such new ideas for trapping investors.

Being a hyper deflationary supply cannot be an innovative feature to make investors to get attracted to invest with it. I remember there was a coin with less than 10 total circulating supply and when it was listed on cryptsy it was valuing more than 1000BTC per coin but eventually it got dumped for less than 100BTC after some time (when I last checked) and finally people forgot that.

This must be another SHIT token with cheap attempt to attract investors. DO NOT FALL for it.
2015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to secure your asset in forkdelta? on: February 25, 2020, 04:18:46 PM
This is because the more time you Login in forkdelta, the more chance to hack your wallet. Hackers need some time to hack your wallet.
How it will be possible? What are the leads for hackers to target the users who are logging for more hours? As per my basic knowledge on security measurements, it will be impossible to hack anyone just because they are logged in. If it will be possible, then that will make us to assume that site itself selling our data to the hackers.

Only by installing some malware in your computer, hackers may get access to your private key which may be the reason they are able to hack you when you are logging in for more hours.
2016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Guys, be aware of a new scam! Stay safe with your funds! on: February 25, 2020, 02:31:09 PM
I guess this is not a new type of scam as I have seen this type of attempts within my telegram group. Never ever believe into anyone who asks for money for sending you back multiple fold of what you will send. That is the logic behind this? Money will grow on tree for them to get us multi fold returns?

We have seen a long discussion of such incident of one forum member who lost his ETHs by believing into some scammer's youtube videos. When we make use of our common sense, I guess we can easily avoid this kind of scammers. When more people are not falling into such traps then those scammers may stop doing this.
2017  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is getting more adopted in my Country on: February 24, 2020, 08:21:01 PM
I don’t really think that can raise the adoption of cryptocurrency in that country, I have been there before and I have some friends that I used to hang out with there. I have been able to discuss this topic of Bitcoin with them and from what I have seen a lot of them are avoiding Bitcoin because it is volatile and because they are afraid that they can lose their money.

Only the very rich people are investing in it, and they are not much that are into it. Check this – an average salary earner there is making 40k to 50k naira ($130) in a month, and sometimes that money is not enough for them to sort out their problems. So they are afraid that they might lose it. From what I have learnt, they prefer investments that are less risky I guess.
2018  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto whales hacked, lost $15M BTC and $30M BCH on: February 24, 2020, 07:26:54 PM
Damn Shocked Shocked man, what are these sim hacks that I have been hearing of lately. I have been seeing news on how people got their wallets hacked through SIM, and I don’t even know how them hackers managed to do this, seems like people are no longer safe here.

Read news on a boy that hacked several of his victims cryptocurrency wallets through this same SIM thing. And the way I see it, I think this only happens with online wallets I guess, since those are the kind of wallets you will have to verify sometimes using your phone number. Offline wallets doesn’t require anything that has to do with any of your details. This is very bad, and I wonder how this victim will be feeling right now losing such an amount of money, $45 million worth of cryptocurrency is too much meehn.  Angry
2019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can save some people's lives :-> on: February 24, 2020, 06:51:37 PM
You do know that it is not every location that will be making use of online payment. There are places that might be too local and not accepting such types of payment.

Just like in my country, you will only be able to make use of advanced payment like debit cards, mobile banking and others in big cities only. That’s where you will see big supermarkets and fast foods and the rest of them that allows you to make payment using your debit cards, mobile transfer or even PayPal (people don’t use Bitcoin yet). But in local places, nobody is ready for such, they will only accept cash from you and nothing else.
2020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About Compulsive gambling. on: February 24, 2020, 05:38:48 PM
Honestly, it sounds like a medical term because I never hear about "compulsive gambling". As far as I am concerned, addicted gambling is what gamblers are doing without control on themselves. From your description I understand you are referring just addicted gambling and I believe we have already have lots of discussions and suggestions across this forum for addicted gamblers.

Gamblers lose their control over the time because gambling makes them excited over their gambling activities which lead them to forget themselves so they are losing all the controls. When gamblers are not regular to gambling then the chances for getting addicted is very less which means they will keep their control intact. So, we must gamble responsibly and with frequent breaks.
