2021  Economy / Economics / Re: Florida bank says it has closed Trump's accounts on: January 23, 2021, 05:58:16 PM
There was a post by nullius inviting Trump to use Bitcoin. Though you'd have to be on something like Gab or any other platform that going to allow him to communicate.
We all pretty much on one thing. These evil banks have no business declaring themselves suddenly on the right side by closing Trumps' account. As if they will do it for the millions of other entities they enable to maintain an iron-grip on the poor, raw material sources of the world and drain wealth towards their wealthy patrons.

He is not at all willing to use cryptocurrencies therefore I do think that he won't take such step for sure. Therefore in the following days he might try and think of using other banks it's not at all difficult to open an account and he can also transfer the money in the account of his family and friends therefore it's not that serious that he would go and try cryptocurrencies and that would not be genuine.

He is probably going to go  for other banks that would cater his needs. I don't think he would like to be without complete control into his finances or something. Let alone his accounts be in BTC in which he has no control over anything but his own wallet. But I think with his reach and influence, he could let other people know to support cryptocurrencies and maybe a lot of people will follow.

True to your point, I am more confident that Trump will soon file some lawsuits, and make corrections to his Florida bank account. if not, then Trump will be very dangerous when it comes to fighting back.

He won't be dangerous. Period.
He doesn't have any points in his favor, what he did was indeed terrible and because of him a lot of people lost their lives not considering the people he put into the concentration camps.

The bank doesn't close the accounts on a whim or just because they wanted to do so , he for sure did something wrong and therefore faced such charges.

He can file lawsuits sure but let's see if he wants to be in the middle of another controversy or no.
2022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why did the bitcoin fall? on: January 23, 2021, 05:33:55 PM
Well the reason bitcoins did fall is because :
1. Panic selling because of :
https://www.businessinsider.com/bitcoin-price-double-spend-flaw-critical-report-suggests-2021-1
The problem is because of double spending which didn't actually take place though.
Some of the points in the article:
Quote

Bitcoin falls 11% after report suggests a critical flaw in the cryptocurrency called 'double spend' may have occurred
Matthew Fox
Jan. 21, 2021, 12:12 PM
If the $21 double spend did occur, it would be a critical blow to bitcoin and exposes a vulnerability Satoshi Nakamoto set out to solve in 2009.

Lucas Jackson/Reuters

Bitcoin fell as much as 11% on Thursday after a report from BitMEX Research suggested that a critical flaw called "double spend" had occurred in the Bitcoin blockchain.
Double spend is a highly feared scenario where a user is able to spend their bitcoins more than once.
Ultimately, a double-spend event did not actually occur, according to the CTO of Bitfinex.

Now people might have actually seen this news and at the same time they might have sold the bitcoins in a panic but at the same time this didn't have much problem since this didn't happen in reality therefore people started buying again.

2. It could just be a market manipulation done by the big companies which would mean that they sold their bitcoins at a high price tempting the people to sell to and at the same time they now would have brought the coins at a much lower price. This is inevitable with the whales.

3. Plus this is normal after the market increased in price in a couple of days therefore give it time and it would become stable again.
2023  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2024 US Presidential Election | Biden+Harris Vs ?? ?? on: January 23, 2021, 05:03:51 PM
Won't this depend more on the fact about how Biden takes care of the economy of the US? If he is Indeed capable enough then I do think that the people of the US will elect him for the second time for sure since they did the same for Trump.

That's fine if you hate him for personal reasons. Don't worry though the same TPTB that did this to Trump can do the same thing to anybody.

No hate, just humour. Trump set himself up for a fall the moment he started lying to everyone including himself. As an outsider I have the luxury of not having to endure American Politics on a daily basis.

I doubt Trump will run again and that's what this thread is all about: speculation of who will be elected in 2024?

Think Trump's got what it takes? Tell us what you're going to wager.

Trump will not be able to actually stand in the elections after what he did this year , I am also not from America but he would be the only president to be dragged twice.

True, but these big companies that you speak of will most likely help support Biden due to his pro-humanitarian outlook when compared to Trump in my opinion. Only time will tell if I am right about this.

Do they support Biden or... Biden supports them? The difference might look like a small one but it is not. Either way, Biden is not the one pulling the strings.

I do believe that strings and everything will not work during the pandemic now since in 2021 the vaccinations will come out and at the same time it will be his responsibility to get things on line and support economic situation of the country now.

The bigger the stimulus he is giving away the worse it would be.,.. the USD will decrease by 20% as predicted . Let's see what happens.
2024  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Random thoughts on future Bitcoin supply on: January 23, 2021, 03:59:45 PM
Hello
Most of the wallets are actually giving people an option to add someone of their family or friends to be passed on BTC when something happens to you.
Let me give an example of the wallet that am using.
The wallet that am using right now is : Zebpay and there few months before the wallet added Nominee option so you can just send them the number and details on the mail and the wallet company would give the custody of the wallet to the person who is noted down there, therefore for me I would ofcourse pass it down to my mom and therefore submitted her details and everything. But other than that there are wallets which do not have such options.
Well about the lost bitcoins I do think that you have to understand that these so called lost bitcoins would be actually sort of a stability option for us , the people won't be able to use it therefore it's not bad for us but ofcourse bad for the person. It would be a long term holding situation.
2025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Gold after Zombie Apocalypse on: January 23, 2021, 12:37:09 PM
Wait ? To think that gold and BTC still would matter during the zombie apocalypse is totally ridiculous. I do not care how much btc o gold I have , I would sell it instantly and then would go ahead to buy arms and stuff to make sure that my family is protected.

Rest we can timely go to the nearest mall and decide to take the necessary stuff. Zombie apocalypse will spread like crazy , you know why ?

Look at the people during COVID-19, they just had to stay at home and did they do ? Nopes , now we are in 2021 and still no hope. People cannot even follow the simplest of the rules.

Zombie apocalypse? Lol more than half of the population will be a zombie in less then a day and the rest half of the people would run after them to save their lives and you think that you would at that time ask someone if they wanted to trade money-gold or btc-gold?

No chance lol.
2026  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: January 2021 — share your gambling experiences on: January 22, 2021, 09:37:45 PM
Well for the January 2021 I tried out some new games on the Gambling sites and lost 😅 , the crash game where I used to encash even after 2 seconds now in many sites do have amount deducted at even 0 second which I believe is now very weird. Since I made a few bucks and then at the same time after few rolls in the crash game I lost way more than what I had in my wallet , I realized that these crash games are now maybe a lot more wiser and the companies have started realizing that people use these games in such ways therefore I do not think that you should actually use such games only once in a while but for long periods of time I do not think you should use these games.

Sports betting is an easier option but you have to check if the companies that you are investing in are not involved in things like match fixing and such since it's now very popular and players don't mind doing it because of lower income due to the pandemic.
2027  Economy / Economics / Re: Biden do even bigger stimulus on: January 22, 2021, 07:48:24 PM
I don't know really understand how USA is able to print so much money , maybe they are using all their supplies and securities that they had and now I genuinely thought that it would for sure stop at the second or the third but it continues to baffle me.

Will the price of the dollar fall?
Will people invest it into bitcoins ?
Will the stimulus reach the homeless people too?

There are certain websites which do provide a detailed idea of if the person qualifies for a stimulus or no at the same time we have not seen a significant improvement in the COVID cases in the US. They still have to work hard towards that , maybe give people masks and sanitizers with the stimulus. Don't know really why people hate masks there though.

A small quote from a website :
Quote
Citigroup says U.S. dollar may drop by 20% next year on vaccine push. The dollar is likely to begin a drop of as much as 20 per cent in 2021 should COVID-19 vaccines become widely distributed and help to revive global trade and economic growth, according to Citigroup Inc.

This is to be expected for sure. We don't know really how far this will drop to.
2028  Economy / Economics / Re: New US presidents are privacy-friendly? on: January 21, 2021, 10:29:36 PM
Until and unless they do something and it brings good effects in terms of privacy I do not think that we can make any statement in that regards. But for sure they would be better off than Trump.

**It's just a proposal right now**

Plus this would not only be good for cryptocurrencies but I do think that this could change a lot of rules and regulations which pry inside people's wallet for no reason. But at the same time I do think this might just be a move to promote the new digital dollar that the US is thinking of launching and they might like people to think that they would be giving the same benefits and privacy as available in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoins.

If they are successful in battling the issue of providing people with privacy I do believe that more countries will take a note from them and would try and follow their lead.
2029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pornhub and PayPal - What are supporting the higer Bitcoin price the most? on: January 18, 2021, 06:57:53 PM
I wonder which of the two companies, PayPal or Pornhub are pushing the higher price the most? We all know Pornhub can only accept Crypto currencies as a payment option at the moment, because credit card companies and PayPal has stopped processing Pornhub transactions. (Also the other sites linked to Pornhub)

PayPal on the other hand, started to accept trading in bitcoins for selected customers... so they are also a major driving factor for the higher prices.

Which of these two companies are the biggest driving factor to sustain these high prices? (It is rumored that Pornhub alone does about $100 000 000 worth of transactions per year)  Roll Eyes

Institutions

I do think that the institutions are the ones pushing the price of the bitcoins beyond the price.

Pornhub, and paypal ? I hope your right. What would have created the huge gain and crash of 2017 and 2018 ?

I don't think that's really right ??
Many people who are using pornhub don't really have so much bitcoins to spare though.
Only like 5-10% of them really use it. Therefore I don't think that the high really came from here.

I don't feel that paypal was the thing that pushed the price of Bitcoins so high because most of the people who are using PayPal are not really involved in bitcoins.

-we don't really know though but I think it was more of a acceptance thing.
More acceptance along the world and institutions.
2030  Economy / Economics / Re: Can you put your investment motto in one sentence when you enter the cryptocurre on: January 18, 2021, 06:16:00 PM
No matter how the currency market goes up or down, we always have a dim idea in our mind. Maybe, it is the idea that supports us. Now, it is time to clarify the idea and share it with the public.

**Don't be greedy**
**Keep track of the market**
**Keep checking the news**
**Don't buy what you can't afford to loose**
**Don't use credit cards**
**Don't buy at an unstable price**

These are the ones from the top of my head but I think none of it matters since the market is something that we can never take into account.

For some reason, when I entered the market, the motto that I held fast seemed to just dissolve, to be honest I think this is a kind of mental test arena where the principles we uphold will be applied or not. and the fact that I personally have not been able to master all of them. mentally ups and downs in me as if I was following the flow of the chart movement Smiley

No motto only profit 😜
2031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone got 2009 satoshi's wallets it there a chance he is in danger? on: January 18, 2021, 05:03:30 PM
I do believe that Satoshi is not really in danger the fact that his bitcoins are not moving doesn't really mean that he is being held by the authorities it just mean that we have a stable sum of btc being stored at a wallet whose owner we know will never sell it personally.

That's why the price won't ever fall beyond a certain value.

Even if Satoshi still alive and definitely has the private keys to those coins,  I doubt he will ever move his bitcoins due to the risk to reveal his identity and could affect the price, so it would stay there forever to preserve it. Since bitcoin protocol so safe, no need to worry about it, whoever manages to access the private keys will be traced and can't escape freely, yes he is in danger.

I do think that the authorities already know about his identity but rather it's not safe to reveal it.
But who knows. ?
Maybe in the future we will hear from him.

2/ the person who have btc don't move it because there is a risk for is identity.
Those Bitcoin don't need to be moved. If I was satoshi, I would have mined bitcoin in another anonymous wallet that no one knows about it. I would have planned that I will never touch the bitcoin in Genesis block and the wallet that I disclosed to the community.

I read a topic on nonce of bitcoin transactions from satoshi. I did not save that topic so can not give you a link now.

A hardware wallet would be nice though. Or a paper one.

2032  Economy / Economics / Re: Jamie Dimon & Tulip Bulbs on: January 18, 2021, 02:08:55 PM
Haha this literally made me laugh how you took his tweets and compiled them like that , it sure would be nice if he sees this post. Who knows if he is already on the forum too. Lol

See the thing is he is not alone , there have been n number of cases where people said the same things and ended up regretting the fact that they didn't buy bitcoins. My parents were the same and I had to sell all of my savings in btc back in the 2017 when the price was extremely low and my father holds more regret regarding that as compared to me 😂.

It was a new thing , we cannot really expect people to be okay with it since the day one.

How many scholars were burned by the church long before they accepted that yes indeed the earth revolves around the sun.

It took years for people to get aquatinted with the mobile banking and still some of them don't even use it.

I think in the upcoming years we will see a much bigger rally for bitcoins. There will be a lot more people who would want to get involved with them and therefore I do believe that even though the guy says " It's not his cup of tea" he really might be holding some BTC with him.
2033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help regarding LOST Bitcoin....😳 on: January 18, 2021, 11:36:47 AM
If you do have the access to your computer then I do believe that you should be able to retrieve them without any problems but the thing is it would be an extremely hard Task and someone who does have a lot of experience in doing the same is the only one who can help you with this. You can try and ask for tech support just don't leave your laptop there. Lol
The only thing that can save you is if you remember the password, the address of the coins , there is also something called the **keys** you have to make sure to see what you do have with yourself and maybe you wrote down that information somewhere? That would be the hardest part for sure.
Rest best of luck I hope you are able to find what you are looking for.
Rest there are many people who are facing the similar situation. The guy who lost his access to laptop is now paying in millions to retrieve the hard drive so that he can try and get the address from there. But you have it ! That means you are at a better place already.
2034  Economy / Economics / Re: What percentage of your total assets would you rather invest in bitcoin? on: January 18, 2021, 11:09:25 AM
It is possible that there will be a few more bitcoins in the future, and there will be a possibility that the bubble will burst?
There are a number of people right now who are waiting to buy bitcoins , the opportunity is really dire because we have a fixed number of coins and therefore I do think that even if there will be more coins added to the market. They won't be added in a couple of days. They will be added slowly. Which means that the sudden bubble that you are talking about won't happen.

The people will ofcourse no doubt buy the bitcoins and at the end of the day they will stabilize the market , a little +/- is not only healthy but it gives us an opportunity to save some of the coins too.

The bubble will only Burst when people decide to sell in a panic , nothing else and therefore right now if you do want to buy some bitcoins and you are also think that in the future there might be some opportunity , well there can be and there might not be. We cannot be sure of anything.
2035  Economy / Gambling / Re: reebet cashier on: January 18, 2021, 12:28:50 AM
I believe you do mean roobet.com
If you did have 0.1 BTC when you deposited in the roobet account I do think that you would ofcourse have more money for sure. The thing is we deposit the balance through a bitcoin wallet into the BTC box and therefore the balance itself is in BTC. Even though the bets are placed in USD but the balance should always be considered in terms of BTC. If they don't do that I do think it's really wrong since it's not the way to deal with a Volatile currency.

Right now I do think you can get the answer of the question yourself by going to the site and checking. But please be more specific if it was indeed 0.1 btc or 0.1$ ??

The cashier exists for BTC and ETH not for USD , USD is used as a currency which the bets are based on. Plus you can also talk with the customer care , they are really prompt while taking such questions.
2036  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Hamster powered races on: January 17, 2021, 05:56:42 PM
I hope they don't stress out the hamster too much if ever there will be lots of players coming in. The owner should have different hamster that's fine with what they were doing and it's all fine against the animal welfare.

There will be no stressed hamsters as the owner stated that the game will depend on the hamster's mood. That's where the game will rely on.

In the case of massive bets, I think there will be several hamsters that can put on the action at the same time or by batches.

Exactly I would not post for something that would actually engage in animal abuse. Hamsters love to run literally..

Maybe someday that other people will create more games about animals like cock fighting , I hope no more animals will die because of the people who wants to enjoy or earn money by gambling. But the hamster racing is good if there is no harm happen to them and maybe someday people will try to bet that game that related to the money it is enjoyable to watch also.

People are creative to find another thing that they can use to bet, and as we see that hamsters, cockfighting, horse, dog, already been used in gambling. With the growth of technology, people will create a new gambling game that will satisfy them to spend money in the gambling industry. And the gambling industry itself will grow fast, and with the development of cryptocurrency, people will try to use crypto to gamble more than now.

See what matters is this hamster race is not Harming the animals , but cock fighting and horse racing is different for sure. Plus these races are also cute to see with the comments of the owner.

Hamsters and other rodents do need a lot of exercise and mostly they remain unnoticed . Therefore I do believe this would actually bring some fun and also help people to engage more with their pets.

So please everyone don't worry about the same.

This is actually a good initiative.

Quote
Like other rodents, hamsters are highly motivated to run in wheels; it is not uncommon to record distances of 9 km (5.6 mi) being run in one night.

2037  Economy / Economics / Re: The most likely scenario coming bitcoin digital gold new bretton wood system on: January 17, 2021, 04:30:13 PM
If they were to create a new system, I do not think that bitcoin will be considered for a nation's reserve because first of all, it will be difficult for superpower nations to do that because there will definitely be oppositions and not to mention that banking and financial institutions will do anything in their power to not be replaced by digital currency. Also, USD as a reserve currency has already taken its root too deep in many countries so it will be difficult to remove those roots.

China and Russia are abandoning the US dollar as the world's reserve currency.

For example, most of the gold and foreign exchange reserves of the Russian Federation are not dollar assets, but gold bars.  Likewise, China is creating a digital yuan that is not pegged to the US dollar.

Other countries have also announced their intentions to create central bank currencies (CBDCs).

The US problem is a huge external debt.  How to solve this problem?  You can simply devalue this debt and then pay off easily.

However, it is impossible to maintain the status of the US dollar as the world's reserve currency.

Not just China and Russia but most of the countries have now realized that they have to do something about this situation. The USA continues to print excessive money and at the same time this might not be harming the economy superficially but it's too serious of a thing to get involved with them right now.

I do believe that they need time to understand the fact that they have to look for better reserves , gold is too pricey and other than that silver might reach good amount in February. Tesla is outperforming everything now and bitcoins is stable at a certain extent and we might have an incredible opportunity to buy and invest.

Most countries don't want to adopt bitcoins but they are trying and making digital currencies they expect people to use them which is nothing but a new version of fiat. That I don't understand for sure. The government has to be more lenient to avoid the ill effects of the pandemic.

The vaccination is now on the way and countries are getting them one by one we might see the economy changing faster than ever.
2038  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lopez vs Kambosos ordered by IBF on: January 17, 2021, 04:00:45 PM
it says that the tentative date may be during springtime in AU, which falls between sept to nov. so people can already watch this in the arena as more then likely a lot of people already got their covid vaccine shot. that would be good income generating also for their fight, as well as live audience may boost the performance of both fighters. let's wait for their final call on this one, maybe at the end of feb...
It won't happen right away since they do need booster dose and get tested again for the antibodies therefore most probably they would have to still follow the guidelines and wait like everyone else.

Ofcourse I do think Lopez might have higher odds of winning but at the same time matches are still unpredictable and right now .

With people saying how players are demanding money and such? I do not think that they would straight away keep doing that even during the pandemic since people are all struggling.

Who is going to place multiple bets though? I always get scared of doing that . But please don't use 800+ dollars to get 100$ winnings , because we never know how a fair fight might go.
2039  Economy / Economics / Re: Tech. Analysis vs. Value Investing vs. Growth Investing vs. Narrative Economy on: January 17, 2021, 02:51:32 PM
Good read OP. Thats what I observe in last years of my presence on market (regulated stock market and crypto market). Undervalued assets remains undervalud for years, technical indicators are raped one after another. Everything moves in pump/dump like movements. People no longer use math and economy to invest. They use dreams and emotions. I think that evolution of narratives (from undervalued assets, to well priced with good perspective to "yolo, buy the story, give me lambo") is somehow connected to printers doing brrrr and cash surplus, disappearing options to protect it against inflation, increasing amount of retail investors, attracting younger and less experienced investors to the market, 12 years of bull market in US and many more.

That YOLO thing was funny but did make sense , I do think that we have to get ready for the worst case scenarios since right now we have newer generation which are going to take over the economic situation and if we think about the previous generation being YOLO , I really don't know what will happen now 😂.

To me, Bitcoin seems to have included all of these investment types and is a mix of them.

Tech Analysis is used in trading of BTC to understand important buy/sell levels where high liquidity is available and that BTC could go towards in order to liquidate such areas.

Value and growth investing had been a part when people saw the old records of others buying it for very low and then they bought it even at highs because they believed in the technology and waited for the growth of the project as well as its value. So these 2 are correlated here.

And narrative economy? Ah, Bitcoin got its mass adoption through the power of word of mouth advertising and there are so, so many success stories available in the markets about people earning great returns through this investment.

At the same time I like to believe that bitcoins is something which is a mixture of everything, we cannot just categorize it in terms of one particular stocks. That is why it is indeed more successful since it's attracting the attention of everyone involved and which is an amazing thing.

which is what people who are valuing Netflix at 80 times earnings are doing

Its more to me like retail investors FOMO into popular stock rather than someone intentionally is accepting 80 P/E because in far future maybe competition will not overtake netflix (HBO GO, Amazon Prime), netflix will be able to cut spendings and current price will be relevant to fundamentials.

There is definitely some truth to this, there is a great deal of momentum investing with tech stocks. Tesla is currently the best example of this, but other very high growth tech stocks are also in this boat, like Shopify, MercadoLibre, Jumia, and Twilio (just to name a few). These all have sky high PE ratios (or no PE ratio because they're not profitable yet) but the thesis is that the rapid growth will eventually fall to earnings when the rapid growth phase is done and the business won't have to spend so much to sustain it.

Tesla even outperformed Apple for sure and the way they radiated their boundaries to every place is actually commendable. They even went to space lol and all those people who doubted them ever are now buying them.
2040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why would anyone use a betting broker? Have you tried it? on: January 17, 2021, 11:46:37 AM
I think it's just because the bookers have been here since a long time and the people really actually connect with them at some places , a lot of old people , people of middle age prefer to just go to them because they really don't know that they can entirely skip the middle man and that there are better betting opportunities available online at various sites.

I do think it's just a matter of educating them about it since they still have to learn that there are things like this but at the same time I do think it's more for the ** experience** for most and many of them don't trust themselves or such claims of having everything done so easily. I guess we would never know.

But I have personally never tried it except for the time when I was a teenager and there was some games like this in shops 😂 the games were actually gambling and marketed by local shop owners.

Betting in illegal markets ? Lol no , don't do that if you were found doing this you would straight away go to jail and what else can you trust ?? The bookers ? Naah you can't trust any of them 100% therefore rather be safe than sorry.
