1141  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the best advice? on: November 08, 2021, 05:48:32 PM
With the way crypto world is going now and everything is techy futuristic what advice would you give your children when growing up?

Gaming as we know it can now give you monthly payments and as a parent would you allow your kids to get into this just for the money making? To be honest kids are more good at gaming

I remember when my brother was earning money through selling his ID's in games and I thought of it as very weird since he was able to earn a lot in an online game, this was back in 2013-2014, now in 2021 we are seeing various events and games all around us and they are also paying the participants in cryptocurrencies. For me when we are talking about kids making money through cryptocurrencies and stuff via gaming, I think it's not wrong, forcing is ofc wrong but if there is a kid who is interested in such events and in games as well then who knows ? It's never a right time to teach them about money. There is no right age to start earning from a legal safe business. I do think it's actually a good thing, since they will learn to be more cautious and caring about money from a super young age.
1142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Bitcoin can help Local Communities on: November 08, 2021, 05:15:22 PM
I think bitcoins can help local companies to expand their business as well. When we are taking about local communities what we can see is immense potential, regarding local crafts and many more things and people generally remain unrecognized since the middle man usually takes away the bulk of profit. This is actually what happens in many Asian countries, they have a lot to offer but unfortunately a lot of corruption and huge gap in MRP and the price that are paid to be local people. ( Plus they can go international as well)
Using cryptos like bitcoins could be a great idea, they can set up their things online, which would ofc need help from other tech savvy people but at the end of the day they can have a full blown business. During quarantine, local communities are what's supporting the whole Nation therefore I do think this is what they have been missing so far. An essential tool to bridge the gap.
1143  Economy / Economics / Re: Time to foot the bill on: November 08, 2021, 04:47:02 PM
As I mentioned a while ago, and as it is obvious for everyone, the money printing and giveaways for furloughs and checks signed by "the president" party is not ended or about to end. And it is time for the hangover. Inflation rises, as it could not be otherwise. The private sector, particularly some sectors, are experiencing a demand of qualified workers and that means that salaries are likely to keep with inflation. However, the governments are playing with the idea of not keeping public salaries with inflation.

Depending on the country and the flexibility, this means that civil servants and public sector may become underpaid and those who actually have skills may leave to the private sector. As a result, I forecast that public services are going to deteriorate.

Not just that but we have been seeing a very clear pattern regarding the government using the taxes and other things everything in the favour of the government itself and not for the people. The workers are not even safe in the public sector anymore, they are doing strikes and at the same time it's high time they get questioned about the quality of services that they are provided.

Only people that might be gaining here would be :
Doctors
Pharmacists
Companies related to them, even though the pandemic has been there since ages now, new Drugs and new medical regime is coming every few months making it the most profitable sector.

I do think that government would not only fail to protect people from Inflation but the salaries as well would still be close to salaries in 2005 whereas we are in 2021 now. Unfortunately this is what fuels corruption.
1144  Other / Off-topic / Re: Rumours of Sporting Industry on: November 08, 2021, 03:48:08 PM
As you said these are all *Rumors* they are not something that we are sure about and therefore at the end of the day until and unless you do get an official statement about anyone or anything then you should not believe these rumors.

Plus is there any official news stating how The spring bat was used ? It's easy to blame anyone even tho I do support team India, I do not believe it's a good thing to discuss this and fuel these rumors.

They can obviously have a match again in the future but doing this would only show the Indian team supporters to be desperate and unwilling to accept their team loosing. A very important thing in sports is *team spirit*.
1145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mixer Detection in 2021 on: November 08, 2021, 06:31:25 AM
Mixers are undeniably important for some people, they use them to protect their Privacy. But at the same time we have to understand that it's blockchain therefore all the data is stored forever that is how Bitcoin Fog case was undertaken, the data was analyzed for 10 years and the guy was identified and taken under arrest.
- If a exchange bans/ allows mixing services, it's their personal opinion
Even right now samourai wallet offers whirlpool but you have to add your whole node there at the same time mixing services are taken as both negative and positive, from saving user's privacy to helping some people hide their identities and get away, we cannot say anything here plus it better to be safe than sorry, even if you mix your coins you would use them for something and that way you can be tracked but now some mixers use a lot of users all together and you cannot identify where those coins went, you cannot pin point any user, but I believe you must stay away from mixers because the probability of your account getting banned is always there, it's better to not bet on it.
1146  Economy / Economics / Re: Legalising would give a chance to Latin America on: November 07, 2021, 05:44:06 PM
Legalizing would be great if it was for things like : Weed
But here we are talking about : Hard drugs
Their health effects, the adverse mental stimulation, how it makes the user addicted, how it might cause chaos is something we all understand. Not everyone is a drug user and not everyone needs to summed up in one situation. Legalizing it medially would be a wise choice but other than that just letting people freely exchange and consume whatever they want is not how things are done. It's not just about the taxes, might as well allow alcohol for teens, you understand why there are rules right ? Even though people might not follow them it would make it harder for them to put their hands on things.
I strongly oppose legalizing hard drugs.
Soft drugs on the other hand might be good for the people and taxes as well. But other than that we cannot let things slide so irresponsibly.
1147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Independent dicing on: November 07, 2021, 05:04:17 PM
I have read online of the term independence dicing but the article did not cover a weather prospect that could build a body of knowledge in that article therefore making the topic void of information so I decided to share the topic here. What is your understanding of independent dice?

When we talk about Independent dice games, the name itself is very much broad therefore one cannot pin point what you are asking here.

Maybe you are asking about : Rolling two dices at once ??
The probability of them rolling independently? ( Regards to their outcome)

If that is the case I do believe it would be wise to learn a thing or two about permutations and combinations, that way you can very easily get the whole idea of the game and see if it's worth your time and money.

Other than what I think about it ?
- Well obviously dice games are interesting and when we talk about their probability it can be controlled more or so at some sites which I do enjoy a lot of times since this gives me advantage to play safely.

A little to know about the two dice game :
Quote
To Play: The players take turns to roll both dice, they can roll as many times as they want in one turn. A player scores the sum of the two dice thrown and gradually reaches a higher score as they continue to roll. If a single number 1 is thrown on either die, the score for that whole turn is lost.

1148  Economy / Economics / Re: Firefighters pension fund invests 25$ million in crypto on: November 07, 2021, 03:32:51 PM
The idea of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies being least correlated to any first class asset is completely justified. The whole reason why some people fled to cryptocurrencies during pandemic was because of the inability of the government to sustain the general demand and jobs, the inability of big companies to tackle inflation and people had to rely on other things, bitcoin's value rose during the pandemic which is an exceptional job in itself. But the whole point would be to *be able to monitor the funds calmly and securely* they are not the first company to invest their money like this, rather they have to worry more about doing it properly.
I sincerely believe that the whole idea of having a pension fund is sustainability and security, therefore there institutions even though might be doing a good job have to employee people who are very well versed with cryptocurrencies and trading.
Overall an exceptional news, seeing bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies getting adopted more and more.
1149  Economy / Economics / Re: Preparing for the future. on: November 07, 2021, 11:44:51 AM
Which country you live in is also a major factor in your decision to pursue such skills and use them to your advantage.
Technology will always be a much needed skill, plus right now countries are striving to achieve great deal of success when it comes to digitalized currencies, some of them are also making their own which would require a whole lot of people employed in the new developing market.
It's not just about diversity, it's also about quality and how well you master the intended skill you are putting out for your future.
I always feel like medicine is a very important skill now a days, chemists, pharmacists, doctors, nurses everyone is needed especially during the time of the pandemic therefore, if that's something that is possible for you then you should definitely go for it as well.
1150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: November 04, 2021, 06:56:07 PM
Manchester United VS Villarreal is a need to win game for Ole and United they should have dominated this table but clearly have not. Golden boy, Ronaldo will have to show up as he has done in the last two games which has made these matches must see on television.

I am looking forward to see how Manchester city handles PSG at home. The combination of Messi and Mbappe will definitely strain the city's defense, especially coming off last weekend's defeat at home to crystal Palace.

Hopefully the stadium will be rocking and city sort out their online tickets, there will be many Parisian fans there so I hope there will be safety in place.
1151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan believes Bitcoin is Overpriced on: November 04, 2021, 06:31:54 PM
JP Morgan analysts say bitcoin's most probable price outcome is to never hit 100k as it is terribly overpriced.  JPMorgan Chase & Co. strategists recently released a report where they mention that Bitcoins's price is overpriced and for it to hit the 100k mark it would need to have volatility decreased. They point out that Bitcoin is now being traded above 60k but the true price for Bitcoin should be $35k.

What do you guys think about this?

Overpriced is a bit too much.
The price of Bitcoins is something that is generally defined by investments and not actually by a general person or a body therefore, more the people invest in it, more the value of Bitcoins would be. Which does mean that government, people, everyone they hold immense power over something like *bitcoin*, there is no centralize body, yes manipulations are always there but they also have a limit to these manipulations.

What does these statements mean ? What would they might do ? They might influence the people, people who follow them, that they would try and sell but I do think we are all done with these manipulations for the time being. I do think people just want the price to crash, so they can buy more and hold more for themselves.

This is basic manipulation strategy, situations or statements like these should be ignored.
1152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Treasury bonds and bitcoin on: November 04, 2021, 05:58:16 PM
There seems to be a belief by some people that:
1) The money that is currently put into negative-yielding Treasury bonds needs a new "home" and
2) That new "home" is likely to be bitcoin

Can someone explain this in more detail. Why are Treasury bonds being compared to bitcoin? I understand the rationale behind point 1, but don't really see why a large portion of it will move into bitcoin. I can see it moving away from Treasury bonds, but I also see it moving to stocks, real estate, gold, silver, other commodities, art, pokemon cards etc.

Treasury bonds generally pay a fixed interest rate and making that possible with Bitcoins would generally be impossible since they have super volatile rates which would make it not only harder for the company to analyze it but at the same time, it would not be a good idea for the people to hold them with a third party.

I understand the fact that it would be good to hold them for 20-30 years, but cryptocurrencies like bitcoins generally are best suited when they are owned by their owners and not by any third party since the whole point is actually nothing. But then again there are people who generally invest in Bitcoin futures so some might do that as well, but how different they would be from lending cryptos? Might be more secure but it would be wiser to just own your coins.
1153  Economy / Economics / Re: CBDCs are not cryptocurrencies on: November 04, 2021, 05:16:48 PM
I do think that CBDC's are actually an extension of fiat so their scope is actually already predefined by their owners. At the end what we can do is, use them, hold them for their usage since am pretty sure that the government would provide us with some discounts etc..but we cannot use them as investments, we cannot use them as bitcoins or any other cryptocurrencies since their volatility would not only be controlled but it would also be fragile, predefined.
How would we know that the corruption is not gonna affect them ? We can use them against visa or Mastercard but we won't be able to really call them cryptocurrencies can we ?
As long as there is a centralized body it would be pretty much *fiat* but nothing else. We can see the digital yuan and see how it works out. But a funny situation here, I just went to see the definition for digital yuan what I found on the Google was :
Quote
Digital Yuan is a state-sponsored virtual currency designed to track all currency movements.

How funny that is.
1154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 04, 2021, 04:34:17 PM
Colby will bring his A game and will rock Usman in the first, if he can't get the finish then it will be over sooner than the first fight• Usmans jab as well as his wrestling will keep Colby attentive•
Welli will have adjusted her game and strategies and believe knows how to get the finish. I do like rose but am unsure how she will have upped her game although she does have an excellent camp, will be interesting fight.
Fight of the night gathje v Chandler can't see this lasting very long. Both will come to destroy their opponent with every kick and punch thrown, both great wrestlers so I predict some basic grappling with some uppercuts on the breaks but will mostly stand and bang• gaethje for the win in the 3rd----lets go 60gs danaaa
1155  Economy / Economics / Re: How can strikes affect short-term inflation? on: November 04, 2021, 03:55:15 PM
Strikes are generally *short term* therefore the company theoretically does not loose workers so they still have to work a way out to somehow keep their money flowing, so at the end, they usually increase the prices of their products which ends up causing inflation for the products which they produce and sell. But the whole probelm is the companies not paying their workers correctly or even having flawed laws.
Quote
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has counted only 12 work stoppages involving at least 1,000 workers since January 2021. That pales alongside the 178 strikes counted so far in 2021 by the Labor Action Tracker from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University
((Data from internet, just in USA alone))
-To increase the efficiency of the workers one has to give them equal rights and protection as well.
- strikes will inevitably affect the prices but it won't be long lived.
-But the problem is not with the strikes but with the companies itself, causing chaos in the whole thing.
- so the only way to solve it would be actually going deeper and improving their laws, rules and regulations.
1156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do bookmakers make mistakes in setting odds? on: November 04, 2021, 11:49:21 AM
Well something else that I read on the internet apparently regarding the price correction:

If bookmakers make any mistake, they usually correct it at the point they realize it. Apparently I read it on the internet that they sometimes even correct them with the revised price even after the event have ended.

I do not think they should be allowed to do that though, if that happens wouldn't it be better if they dissolved the bet?

There is always a personal error possible since it's hard to take thousands of bets everyday and not have 1-2 errors.

Generally they have a policy which covers all of it, lemme quote it :
Quote
Not so, for an ‘obvious error’ (PALP) made by the bookmaker.  This is a complete in-balance between the service provider and the customer (punter).

All bookmakers will have a term and condition that reads something like this:

Prior to the start of an event, in-play or after the event, where an ‘Obvious Error’ is identified, any bets will stand and be settled at the revised price.

So, basically the bookmaker can make a mistake and correct it any point, even after the event has finished, but the customer (punter) cannot.  This can lead to all sorts of unscrupulous behaviour.

1157  Economy / Economics / Re: How is financial stability defined for you? on: November 04, 2021, 03:46:43 AM
For me financial stability would be defined if you are able to afford :
1. Good healthcare
2. Good education
3. Child care
4. Care for the elderly
5. Good earnings
6. Investments
7. Savings
8. Overall idea about spending money wisely
9. Future Plans
10. Retirement Plans
Things like that would be financial stability for me personally. It's not just these basic needs but also extra savings for unexpected situations.
1158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The reason why Crash Games usually crash at lower values on: November 03, 2021, 06:59:45 PM
Most of the time I don't really play crash really realizing all the things and this is honestly the first formula that I saw in my life regarding these games.
When we talk about this formula how would all the casinos follow the same one ?
Crash games for me are really one based on luck but seeing your formula I feel like I should get more into see how it works and how it would be beneficial for the player to encash every once in a while when they start.
Besides, I saw someone said there is at least 50% of chance the multiplier is 2 or less. If I bet 1 dollar at a time, each time I cash out if saw the multiplier raised to 1.1x, will it give me more chance to win something small each time? If no,  why not?

No. There is always the same risk/reward ratio. There is no difference in strategy you pick. There is no diifference in multiplier you aim to hit. You always have ~90-98% from your bet back to your account from each bet, on average. This 2-10% is casino house edge. There is no way to outperform other, not even saying about outperforming casino. The only way to win is by having luck.

crash multiplier = (100 * e - h) / (e - h) / 100

no matter what h is, the crash multiplier is always ONE?

Its not 1. OP gave few examples. You had to make a mistake in the order of performing mathematical operations

Quote
PossibilitiesMultiplier
H=01
H=11.11
H=21.24
H=31.42
H=41.66
H=51.99
H=62.48
H=73.31
H=84.96
H=99.91

Usually you would have to avoid betting continuously since it would make your chances of winning go down and I heard a lot of players say how fixing the seeds again works for them, so therefore I usually use crash after resetting my seeds and not continually at the same time.

Mathematics is always theoretically correct but an interesting point to analyze here.
1159  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin adoption by banks - good or bad? on: November 03, 2021, 06:22:42 PM
As far as I see, a lot of people here are very happy when they read news about this or that bank adopting bitcoin exchange, offering crypto related services or doing something related to crypto.

At some point I understand that people like it because they want to see crypto everywhere but the downside of this is that crypto gets more regulated and I think it losses the magic/spell that it had before. Personally, I think that more adoptions and regulations won't do any good for bitcoin, it will just become a little bit different digital version of fiat. I think as time goes, anonimity, decentralization and these words are fading away and they turn into myths like Greek gods.

If the banks do not make weird laws about regulating the whole industry, then I do understand that they would be fine with cryptocurrencies but at the same time the idea of them dominating the whole market is always there which makes it harder for the general public to appreciate the efforts that they might be putting into.

Banks integrating with cryptocurrencies might be a good thing for the holders since they would allow the bank customers and the crypto holders to trade efficiently without much efforts at the same time other banks might wanna do it as well because of the competition do that open doors for mass adoption, but how would it go? Since after that the government might wanna make stricter rules and regulations.

Then the countries would go in that as well and this way we can see crypto being accepted all around the world therefore it can both be a +/- thing.

Depending on how they take it.
1160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the Power/Energy/Electricity Grid concerns & questions on: November 03, 2021, 05:45:03 PM
Only individual miners would leave the whole things since got them it's not really profitable but when you talk about other companies working on large scale, I do not think that they would leave the whole thing, for them it would be more profitable since they would be able to cover what the small miners couldn't.

Smart grid would not work everywhere would it only work at places where it's implemented and the point would be implementing it in the first place therefore we have to have a whole set of laws for it. USA is a big country and I do think that there would be a lot of proceedings they would have to do Before thet can actually make this into a law.

UK is already forming laws to take care of gambling in cryptos as well, I wonder if they would be open to stop the miners since the miners are the basis of every crypto friendly country and I do think this would be very different for both US and UK. Their government have different approaches towards gambling.
