1081  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin Is The Best Weapon Society Has Against Inflation & Wealth Inequality on: November 23, 2021, 03:52:53 PM
Monetary policies created by the government is to make the rich people richer by taking the money from the pockets of poor and middle class as well in my opinion. The decentralized money is really beyond to understand for a common man because they know money and using it for thwir entire Lifetime without actually knowing what is money and how it is coming from.

I would say bitcoin is really helpful to save us from inflation but we don't know its actually capable of doing that if 7 billion people starts to think in the same way.

Not exactly. Even if 50% of the population agrees to use Bitcoins or are well versed with cryptocurrencies the rest 50% would genuinely work their way up from there and the government would be forced to accept Bitcoins since at the end of the day *they won't want to be left behind*. Which I do think is not hard to achieve after cities like El dorado where the government is encouraging people to accept Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies.

Plus the rich are not even paying taxes how they should, which is honestly upsetting.

Plus Tax systems is in place so that they can help the public but instead no one can see that happening, the government is far less focused on people. Look at the US promising new advancements by printing excessive amount of money and taking debts. What does the government expect now?
1082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting online cockfight has become the new pandemic on: November 23, 2021, 02:12:15 PM
I know many people might be concerned about the addiction but I am more concerned about the violent sports that might cause a lot of probelms for the people. It's extremely sad that cocks are forced to fight each other till the other one dies, injected with hormones to make them agressive causing massive damage to their body. It's not an ethical sports. There are places where this is banned. Just like how you would probably not see the bull getting stabbed in the head , cockfighting is sad. People need to understand that they can do other things like *hamster powered marbles or something* it's not hard finding something else. The whole idea is gamble but don't harm anyone else in that process, that might just be animal cruelty and not actually gambling. I hope they do see what's going on with this sports and decide to ban it for good.
1083  Economy / Economics / Re: US could run out of cash as soon as Dec. 15, Janet Yellen warns on: November 22, 2021, 06:19:02 PM
Quite a shocking news, what baffles me is that despite this information being accessible to the governmental bodies, despite the dangers that they were warned about since the time of Trump, they still continue to do things to make the value of not just the dollar or the government, to make the value of the whole country, go down, plus it would be so sudden that any recovery might take a lot of time. US is also loosing a lot of workers, a lot of employees, therefore their economy might not be able to sustain itself.

The debts which are already huge would just increase more and more, what I think is that the financial ministry is not doing their job right, if the government still continue to make these decisions despite them having troubles with printing more money than recommend.

The public debt is already 28.91 trillion more than it has ever been before. Hopefully the government is able to reform their decisions before it's too late.
1084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if the US Govt. buys circulating Bitcoin Supply and $ is backed by $BTC ? on: November 22, 2021, 05:43:04 PM
This would not work at all since dollar is more of a stable option which does mean if we back it up using something like bitcoins, it would make the whole ecosystem of financial side shake. That does mean that adding bitcoins as a secondary system might be sustainable but using it to back dollar up would be not a good option at all.

A currency needs :
Stability
Value

They can totally take a page out of El Salvador's book and think about accepting bitcoins more in the US. This would not only be beneficial for them but for the whole community as well.

Crypto is not getting mainstream. It is mainstream. Stocks, fiat anything crypto performance is undoubtedly way better than them especially during the pandemic. Crypto is here to stay..
1085  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto can erode tax base, Russia’s tax boss says on: November 22, 2021, 04:32:18 PM
Tax is essential undoubtedly the only reason we need reformation in tax department is because *people generally pay are paying taxes with their income clearly insufficient to sustain themselves, but the richest people generally , through different aspects always avoid the taxes, which no one ever talks about, making it harder for everyone*
- Cryptocurrencies might also help making the whole system more transparent, more transparency means better judgement, it would also mean that people would be able to challenge the government if they see something wrong happening.
This would shatter the politicians and the governmental authorities, the huge idea behind blockchain reforming the government and the financial system might be on the way.
1086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First Bitcoin City on: November 22, 2021, 03:58:27 PM
El Salvador have continued to take the lead in cryptocurrency adoption, first the country announced bitcoin as a legal tender some months ago and the latest is the official opening of a bitcoin city which will serve as a free trade zone that will house top exchanges and bitcoin mining farms. The president announced this project which is backed with a 1 billion dollars worth of bitcoin as a bond.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/el-salvador-to-inaugurate-bitcoin-city-backed-by-1b-bitcoin-bonds

At the same time to boost their adoption of cryptocurrencies they offered citizens 30$ for wallets if I remember correctly.

Since the city would be based on the base of the volcano they would have chances to use geothermal energy for the same, for mining and to keep the whole system green.

They are going to be using Bitcoin bonds as well which is a positive thing. But raising 1 billion dollars would be the hard part.

Therefore this would only be an amazing initiative for the whole world, the bitcoin community itself, they would also be using renewable sources of energy which would mean that this volcanic power can help other countries see that bitcoin mining can be sustainable as well.
1087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Sports betting superstitions. on: November 22, 2021, 01:08:55 PM
I recently got acquainted with a study where a company addressed the superstitions of people involved with sports betting.

Some of them were as follows :
1.
Quote
71% of Americans feel “the stakes of the game are even higher when watching with friends or family, and love to up-the-ante by betting on the game’s outcome or a player’s performance."

2. 62% of the fans blame themselves for the loss of their teams

3. 38% people feel that they are bad luck and of them 84% were asked to leave the room during a game.

4. 59% always made friendly bets with their family or friends and insisted that they pay back with something weird or funny like taking tab off the bar or getting weird haircuts

2/3rd of the fans admitted to being superstitious.

What do you think ? Are you superstitious as well while sports betting??
1088  Other / Off-topic / Re: A measure of the degree of attachment to sport teams. on: November 21, 2021, 06:54:10 PM
My friend's football team performed so poorly that he was very disappointed to the point he uttered out loud that he was no longer a supporter of the team. The next statement was -"Chelsea! for life", (a statement that is commonly used in my locale to show that you support a team), that is he is now a supporter of Chelsea FC.

The situation doesn't seem as much, but on a second thought, the question of the attachments to the club we support came up.

How attached are you to the sport team you support? Do you have club tokens, Jerseys and all that to show that you really love a team or your support is just by mouth like my friend that you can easily just dump your team and switch to another team with just an utterance.

Well for me I do think that I definately would be attached to a sports team but at the same time if I would be betting on it I would go with the team most likely to win and not the team I would have an attachment with.

My whole family is too drawn to cricket, so I remember having so many shirts and jerseys of their favorite players even before I knew what it was. But for me personally the attachment is not as big as it is for most people.

Time change and so does teams, some teams might perform better in 10 years and some might be done for int he future. For me I would definately pick the one's who are giving the audience value for their money and time.
1089  Economy / Economics / Re: Amazon stops Visa payments on "too high fees" argument (UK) on: November 21, 2021, 06:12:00 PM
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/17/business/amazon-visa-britain.html

Visa is a solid company. Among its investors you will see Warren Buffet, that sees in this company a way realising its famous predicament of investing in the growth of US and the world. Basically a company that no matter who wins, is always there to process the payments.

Amazon is not happy about Visa piggy-backing on its success and has decided to only accept other cards. I wonder when will they figure out that they could actually be paying very little if they allowed bitcoin accounts in their platform.

I do think that is not going to just affect them but at the same time a lot of people at once. VISA is very normal and I do think it's the most normal card that people carry around and use at the same time. It would not only be bad for Amazon but it would be bad for the VISA company as well, so what I see here is :
1.VISA companies needs to revise their rates.
2.Amazon needs to sort this out for the customers as well.
Bitcoins can be good but at the same time :
1. Lightning network needs improvements first
2. It would take time for sure to make such a big decision.
Some companies do rely more on credit card payments as well, hopefully am Amazon can provide people with other options and not just make one payment type a priority for them.
1090  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and non-formal workers on: November 21, 2021, 05:40:43 PM
What a person does in this private space is not something that the government should bother him about, there is some privacy in some places but at the same time there are countries who are actually very involved with their government workers since this defines their overall financial support and state in a way. There are mayor's urging to recieve their salaries in Bitcoins and at the same times there are presidents making statements *to not involve with cryptocurrencies like bitcoins*
Therefore I do think that this question is basically dependent on where you live. For me, my home country India, I did not personally find any government official engaging with Bitcoins since they were for a fact more dependent on the government and the government doesn't really like bitcoins much, people tend to focus on gold and more traditional investments as well in India.
1091  Economy / Economics / Re: People tend not to move on: November 21, 2021, 04:53:35 PM
Well for me I was born in India but for better education and safer environment I moved to Ukraine. The education was cheaper and it's safer for women as well. Therefore for me the motivation was : Education

Other than that my boyfriend lived in Indonesia for 13 years before he moved with his mother in the UK for better healthcare, education and overall quality of life.

My brother ( cousin ) was a doctor in India but decided to have a nice house and family in Australia since the job opportunities were better and the people were more valued professionally.

Therefore I do think that people do move but it's always dependent on their motivation plus opportunities as well, it's not as easy to pin point.
1092  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Add Bank Account Verification? on: November 21, 2021, 04:10:31 PM
Well I had to do the same things ages ago not exactly on the Coinbase but on the Zebpay. The hard part was realizing that the government is actually going to have a full idea of what and how my funds are coming from since my bank account and the Zebpay account both were connected to my tax payer id and also at the same time the national identification number as well. Therefore if I can't I can usually generate my tax statement on my wallet. I do think it might be useful for some people for sure, who do not care about privacy, it's easy to buy/sell for sure and instant as well, but at the same time all this tracking makes me feel uncomfortable. It's not decentralized anymore, plus the tax is ridiculously high for most countries as well. It's just rules and regulations which you cannot avoid.
1093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot forecast on: November 20, 2021, 04:58:02 PM
Slot is one of the most preferred gaming game in most casino houses and online gambling platforms but one of it major defector is the fact that players can not give an accurate forecast of the outcome of the game and how the probably fair system works in favor of the house. Apart from dice that it outcome can easily be predicted slot on the other hand is unpredictable.

Ofcourse
It all depends upon the probability, which does mean that most of the times, you would not be able to predict anything for that matters and that's why people make comments about how the penny slots are way more worth than the dollar one's since at the end of the day the penny slots will give you more chances.
The dice game is better for me as compared to roulette or anything else since you get to choose the percentage of risk you are taking there, which would be much better in general. Most casinos have a fair system therefore most of these games would be based on sheer luck and how many hours you are willing to spend on the particular site and the particular game. That's why it's always better to choose games which needs skills more or so like blackjack. It gives you better options and option to brush up your skills as well.
1094  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we in a bear trap? on: November 20, 2021, 02:58:56 PM
An asset like bitcoins is already super famous. At the end of the day the people would be super careful about what they do with those funds.

Undoubtedly there will be one's who would wanna sell, but as we all know bitcoins can climb much higher therefore I do think of the time being they might wanna hold onto their funds till they are mature enough.

For people who are concerned about the price I do think that they have to generally get the idea that :
"Bitcoins is already surrounded by potential long term investors, they are not going to miss any buying opportunity"

If the price goes down it would recover as well. Therefore calm down and do not sell your coins so soon. It might be more profitable to wait for everything to settle down. Q
1095  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 41% of people globally say they trust Bitcoin over local currencies on: November 20, 2021, 09:18:15 AM
Primarily due to the fact that the government have failed time and again to help keep the economic situation favourable for the people, plus they have also failed to utilize the taxes for the welfare of general public.

Apparently the strong currencies like: USD, they have failed as a whole to keep their value intact or growing.

At the same time certain Factors like:
Political uproar
Possibility of worsening of the pandemic
Job opportunities weakening
Frontline workers not being respected
No healthy + growth in terms of salaries etc

Now the citizens are incapable of trusting their governments. Which is not really wrong, they gotta have another support system, that's where Bitcoins come in play. A lot of benefits being offered over the traditional system, sooner or later the governmental bodies might collapse.
1096  Economy / Economics / Re: Introducing a state-issued cryptocurrency on: November 18, 2021, 06:16:38 PM
Union Finance Ministry has take a decision on a state-issued cryptocurrency soon but ban all private cryptocurrencies. The VHP leader had sought a ban on all cryptocurrencies alleging its usage to fund terrorism, drugs and other 'anti national activities'. As all private cryptocurrencies are still not considered as legal tender or coin in India, but the govt may introduce an official digital currency in India.

I think its a good decision by government.. What you guys think about it?

Anything issued by a government cannot be a cryptocurrency.
You have to understand the fact that the very idea of a cryptocurrency is something that is decentralized and that's the farthest from what Indian government intends to do, now I do think that this is not something that would help crimes and all. Since at the end of the day people do have more probelms with fiat and other things. It's not really an issue with the cryptocurrencies it's the issue with the people itself. Therefore one cannot really think about these things as the fault of cryptocurrencies. If the governmental system was so good why would they need so many laws, rules and regulations??
This would be nothing but fiat therefore there is not even any reason why one should be engaging with them.
1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / First decentralized Gambling Platform? on: November 18, 2021, 04:46:42 PM
I recently came across this news where BetDEX apparently made a public statement about how they would be launching *world's first decentralized Gambling Platform*

Few things to note:
Integrating sports betting with blockchain technology.
They are going to launch it in early 2022.
This would be based in Scotland.

A quote from the article:
Quote
The trio will offer a fully decentralised protocol built on the public blockchain, Solana, providing customers with fast and low-cost trades. It will allow third parties to build their own innovations and applications on top of the platform

-They are even allowing third parties to build innovations and applications on the top of the platform.

**It's largest ever seeded investment by any uk startup**

Source: https://www.gamblinginsider.com/news/13914/betdex-raise-21m-to-launch-first-decentralised-betting-platform

What do you think the whole hype is about, how would they be any different from the already existing gambling platforms working with Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies?
1098  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: November 17, 2021, 06:53:38 PM
Ufc

Definitely not the most exciting card as compared to the previous weeks dana has treated us too.

Fight of the night
Davey grant v adrian yanez
Coming of is loss to vera I expect the Englishman to come out showcasing all his talents. Yanez is a good prospect but davey will come out with a bang!

Main event, not too excited about this event as the goat amana nuñes will be fighting soon, furthermore the last main event between women was the one of if not the worst main event in ufc history. Tate has fire power but im not expecting anything gobsmacking about this fight-excuse the pun.

Also on the card are michael chiesa v sean brady as well as rani yahya v kang kyung ho. Both these will be bangers and can go eitherway.

Looking forward to the fights!
1099  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This Baseball Team Now Pays Players in Bitcoin on: November 17, 2021, 06:18:47 PM
Not just that there are other big news as well regarding the payment in Bitcoins.

- Miami Mayor wants to pay the employees in Bitcoins
- New York's Mayor wants to be paid in Bitcoins
- El Salvador is already adoption bitcoins so soon enough we could be seeing payments being made in Bitcoins as well
- Dutch football club is thinking of paying the players in bitcoins as well

Which does mean we might need better modifications in the lightning network as well.

At the same time Miami Mayor wants the citizens and the employees to set up Bitcoin wallets for them.

Good news for Bitcoins overall Smiley
1100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bovada removing bitcoin as payment option on: November 17, 2021, 05:38:32 PM
Checked online there is literally no news regarding the same. But do you know that they are operating without any licence since 2016? They might not really be considered legal now. But at the same time customer review ratings have always been high for them so they continue to flourish in the US since 2011. ( Some information I got from google)

If they are not supporting bitcoins as a method of payment in betting hands down. This is something that might come just from the new rules and regulations from the commission therefore you can't really do anything about it.

Try some other casinos.
It might be due to high fee as well, are they still using ETH tho?? It was also listed in the top bet online sports book as well.

They might change their decision in a while tho, wait for any news or statements.
