2042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 25, 2014, 12:21:06 AM

99% coins are scam, I think is a lot true in that

Its a scam until its not anymore. Its only a scam if you lose money. Its a scam if you dont understand it. Its not a scam until everyone says its a scam, even tho nothing has changed from the start.

people yelling scam are the same people buying in only when everyone else says its ok and they will always lose and are not good investors. Investors know what they are putting their money into and know when to take it out. I bought the crash and lost 50% of it but it was only a small amount. It was a bad buy not because it was a scam but because i didn't have all the info to make a good decision as an investor should. Will i stop buying on crashes, no way, because most of the time coins do pop back and go strong and the odds are with my strategy.

I wouldnt go as far as saying it is a scam either, but a massive failure perhaps on the devs part, if they really were scamming everyone, they would have sold the premine when SC reached 4cents.
Im killing myself that i didnt, because i would have walked away with about 22BTC.

If this can be restarted by the community, then im all in.

Wow - I'm just shocked at how this unfolded  Roll Eyes

Isn't it funny how I gave you guys great advice and yet everybody hates me for it? Who doesn't wish they would have sold at 7000 like I told you too? I wouldn't have been here if I wasn't certain this was a scam, guys. The dev is a scammer - he's scammed people before and he will scam people again. Next time, feel free to ask me to analyze a coin before you buy into it and I will give you my honest assessment. Stop losing money! I'm happy to help.

I would have actually listened to you if you did not come across as such a dick, i actually sold mine last night after going by Judge Crypto's Advice.
Ironically, i still made a profit, since they are still trading at more than what i paid for them!

There he dumped them. Exactly 1mil. Time is also right...look at the wallet what time it was that he moved them.
That graph looks like someone pulling the fingers! lol

Come on everybody, think we have to be realistic! The dev's will NOT bail IF we show them there is some love / commitment in here, so stop calling names / pointing fingers and get a good vibe back!

Think we all need to realise that a crypto coin is much like a company, we are the people buying stuff from them and they are creating their "product". So we should be kept happy (indeed) but also we should allow the company to deliver. Compared to real-life, you see many company's struggling with communication when they are close to release. Look at Apple, people are always scared close to the release; will it be what they thought it would be etc. So keep faith and don't always believe what other people are saying / screaming.

Secondly, I bought in at 1000 so i have made some profit. Why not "risk" some profit and NOT sell already but help by keeping your coins and staying true to what you (once) believed! If we all acted more like this, there would not even be ANY dump. One little bump in the road and some of the (good) people who I have been seeing in this thread have left the ship.... Such a shame to lose people who really seemed to believe however this is also my main concern for  all crypto's; people who seem to have a strong opinion and vision just abandon it all for couple of bucks, that almost makes me want BTC and all coins to fail!

Exactly,
Im not concerned at all, if the Devs abandon the coin, the premine is worthless to them anyway!

Im pretty excited about this coin, and there's lots of exciting things in store!
2047  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Moderated Thread [Updates & Discussion][Civilized Discussion] on: June 24, 2014, 07:11:31 AM
I don't buy from anonymous developers who name themselves after a coin.  So Kora is out for me.

As well many coins have copied NEM's distribution model and failed to drum up interest.  NEM isn't some Communist or freebie coin.  NEM is an initiation to a new economic movement.
+1. Kora is not the first. NXT lite was the first copy of the distributional model. But i guess there are more to wide distribution. Where is aurora coin now if the success is to give the coins to many people as possible?

NXT would be way up there if its beginnings hadn't been so botched. Screaming about distribution is still the first thing that comes out when people discuss it.

Seriously, the difference between NXT and NEM stakeholders is zilch.
Its still a small percentage on a global scale.
Distribution is NOT why ive invested in NEM...

There's actually a huge difference. With NXT you have 70 stakeholders who forge gobs of NXT daily just by holding, and with NEM you have 3000 stakeholders who are incentivized through POI to do the exact opposite of holding.

Even if you hold 1 million NXT, you dont get much by forging, seriously, check out the calculator, you might get 100NXT a month

Have you tried to send smaller transactions? If you have had a bunch of small incoming transactions then you will have to send out the coins in smaller batches.
I tried sending 1-2 coins with the same fault, weird isint it?
I love this currency, but boy the wallet is really holding the price back bigtime.
2049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 24, 2014, 06:58:23 AM
These trolls are really starting to drain me, but all i can say is that its not a better time to buy more SC!

Im placing a buy order right now.  Cheesy
2050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MRO][XMR][HOW TO] Install GUI wallet & mine Monero on Windows !!NEW: GPU!! on: June 24, 2014, 03:45:54 AM
I cant get the GUI wallet to send funds, it just does nothing when you click send, with the simplewallet.exe i have no idea how you copy and paste your address into the window?
It does nothing when your right click. TIA for any advice.
Just right click in the upper left hand corner. click on "edit" then "Paste"

Yeah ive tried that, and now i get the error that the transaction is too large!!???
It seems really weird, im using the latest version...

Is anyone here able to help me with the wallet?

I held XMR but sold - I cant stress enough how this coin is not ready for mainstream. Reliability / Command line driven and lack of infrastructure will drag the price down further..

Yes the anonymity is good but the underlying solution is too complex to use and under-developed. Give it another 6-12 months yes maybe, but as it stands the solution is not viable.

Its an utter joke, ive just tried to send a transaction and it did nothing in the GUI wallet, and ive tried dimplewallet and i just get the message that the transaction size is too big!

Whats going on???

can i mine it?

are all the coins distributed allready or can i get me some nem?

You can't mine it no - this is not a PoW coin (thankfully).

NEM will be a POI coin (Proof of Importance)whereby, and i quote:

Quote
'Proof of Importance' (PoI) coin generation that rewards people for actively using NEM as a currency, discouraging hoarding. The people most important in maintaining the network receive the highest coin rewards, not the people with the most NEM.

Sounds a bit like POT (proof of transaction) doesnt it?
Thats how fluttercoin works diesnt it?

Hey guys

I am one of the Silkcoin devs and I am primarily in charge of the front and back-end of the eco-system for Silkcoin. I want to let everyone know that there is nothing to worry  about. The premine was consolidated into one wallet and this will be updated in the OP. Our lead dev under the "Silkcoin" account here is currently away, he had some other important things to attend to and will not be able to come online today. I was told to post this update for everyone. Let me clarify a few things that were brought up in the last several (this is an understatement) pages to try to calm the panic a bit:

We are still hard at work. The new wallet update is slightly delayed due to some unforeseen circumstances. We will have the new update launched by tomorrow at 8 PM GMT.

Regarding the WHOIS change for the Silkcoin official site is to protect ourselves. Due to the nature of the upcoming Eco-System feature we have decided to anonymize ourselves (the creators and devs of the Silkcoin project) to protect ourselves from legal threats. We are still on pace to release the first public beta of the Eco-System for everyone to try.

If there are any other things I may have missed, please feel free to contact me via PM directly. I will address these issues.

Our lead dev will be back by tomorrow and will be posting the download links for the new wallet update. We are almost done the final testing stages, need to iron out a few bugs and some minor glitches and it will be good to go.

Thanks for all those who still continue to support us.

Awesome news, you are doing such a great job!
At least its a good time to buy some more Smiley

Hasnt been a better opportunity for people to buy SC right now.
Hopefully we can get a few more latecomers who missed out to buy now, they wont regret it.
Im going to buy another BTC worth of SC soon Smiley
2058  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SilkCoin | New Wallet | NOW on MintPal / Cryptsy | FULL POS on: June 23, 2014, 10:11:52 PM
APPLE started in some guys garage.

Good things happen to those who wait.

If this is your fist altcoin, take this chance to learn about investing. If you sell low, you WILL take a loss. If you wait, you MIGHT make it big or you might not. So, why take a certain loss when you can maybe (even probably with SC) make a profit?

Makes go up and down all the time. The trick is to look past it....

I wish i sold all mine when it hit 4.5cents though!
I could have more than tripled my stake in SC.

HODL is the key though
