Ive uninstalled and reinstalled and it appears to be working.

Its having to re download the blockchain though.

Yeah i found the one, i was looking in program files.

Anyway ive deleted all the files including the database, and i still cant start NCC.

The spinning mouse cursor spins for a bit and then nothing.

Hmmm...   last thing I can think of is making sure all java processes terminate properly before restarting...   Undecided

I dont even see the java process running, so its weird why im having trouble.

Just tried NXT and java starts fine.

Neither of those files are in my NCC folder.

I was referring to the ncc folder that also contains the wallet files.

Hi everyone! couple days ago i shut down ncc from nem monitor menu, and then i want to start it again - it didn't. I reinstall the java, nem wallet, trying standalone version, it just don't start.
Then i launch installer version, it say nis is launching, ncc stopped. Pressing launch ncc in monitor menu gives nothing. Nis starts perfectly in both versions(standalone and installer).
win 8.1x64 \ java 8u72x64

less circle jerking and more answers to why people can't get ncc to boot?

I can't provide an answer as to the why, but I can comment on potential solutions.

Speaking from personal experience, I usually make this particular problem go away by deleting the ncc.cfg & accounts_cache_mainnet files from the ncc folder.  The one time it didn't work I had to also delete the db.

Neither of those files are in my NCC folder.

For people saying this is a pump it's utter bs. Watch the pattern on poloniex. Some dudes try to FUD and shake out weak hands, after every signifcant rise the whales make a splash so people will sell in panic after which they buy up all the XEM to a new higher level. If you don't have a long term strategy and vision you are going to get played. I would say NEM is better than all the other crypto projects out there, better than bitcoin, better than ethereum, etc. and banks and businesses are now getting familiar with the platform. This project is not like any other, read the white paper if you don't believe me.  Wink

This cracks me up. Every pump in the history of cryptocoins (and probably every other asset), people claim that it's real growth. That their 'coin' is better and people are finally realizing it. I remember this happening to ppc, nxt, quark, bts, counterparty, Dash, Doge and I think meow and kittycoin had the same mind set.

There is no doubt NEM is great. This growth will set a new bottom for xem but there is no way in hell this pump can be maintained. People who held at the start will sell for profit and people who bought a week ago will sell because they have doubled up. Buying at the top of a pump like this becomes more appealing to the greater fool but the fools won't last forever.

People need to buy and forget about tomorrow, but instead of the future in 5 years.

Sick of all the day traders and speculators.

Will NEM now overtake Nxt?

Im starting to think it might...
1129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 20, 2016, 04:18:25 AM
Probably alot of dumpers buying back! lol  Tongue
1130  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: January 20, 2016, 04:16:16 AM
Bitcoin devs are idiots for not increasing block size.
Problems are already present with transactions taking ages.

Looks like bitcoin classic may very well take over soon though, 75% of the network needs to be on Bitcoin classic for it to take effect, and we are around 72% currently.
1131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 20, 2016, 01:19:19 AM
Have to laugh about people saying there is a pump!

If its a pump, it surley should be driven by alot of hype, which i dont see anywhere.
There has not even been any recent announcement made, so that says alot.

XEM will speak for itself and people are just starting to wise up that this will be the future.
1132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 19, 2016, 06:37:02 AM
nem.io is unfortunately still flagged in Chrome, though.

this is a pretty big problem.  we need to try to get this resolved asap.  anyone who has not already done the whitelist report with google please do so asap.   for nem.io

ironically it hasnt caused the price to drop! lol
1133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 19, 2016, 12:15:21 AM
Ive just bought a Pine64 computer through kickstarter.
http://pine64.com/

This should be more powerful than a raspberry pi, and will be great to run a XEM node!

The issue is the RAM.

Ideally you need about 2GB. I've yet to see a PI that meets this requirements.

I've currently ran NIS on my PI successfully without too many hiccups, but the limiting factor is the RAM and i expect, as the blockchain grows, this will very quickly make my PI obsolete as it'll exhaust that 1GB quickly.

This is NOT a raspberry pi !
Ive just bought the 2GB model! Grin

I didnt think RAM was that big an issue anyway, since NIS on my PC does not consume anywhere near that much RAM, i didnt think it even needed to load the whole blockchain into memory does it?

Still nem price is low

If want to buy
Buy now

...i am NEM fan but to be honest buying for long therm into pump is Cryptosuicside Cheesy...
buy after month... for 50% discount.
some noobs will belive and can belive in that haha...

Today you can play crypto ponzi clasic:D

I think that would be a bad move.....I think there will be notable announcements coming.......in one months time ,who knows how high the price will be..........please remember that NEM has been underpriced from the start....

also....please join the community on Telegram and Slack.......we are off to the races soon Smiley

I agree. There is no pump happening, as others have said, more than likely dumpers buying back.

Price is back around what we were on launch anyway. Still extremely cheap, people know its true value now.
So i would say hodl for long term and not worry about the graphs on CMC, price will be very stable from now on. We have already proved all the fudsters wrong.

I see a bright future for NEM. Cheesy

Let me dwell on that.

Basically google has agreement with multiple AV companies to block certain URLs.

Which boils down to the following : if ANY of AVs makes an FP (False Positive),
it means google makes an FP.

Apparently one of AVs, qualified our lightwallet zip (which contains nginx webserver executable) as a malware ...
(If I knew which one was that I'd be open about NOT recommending that AV).

We'll trying to get a proper review from google. nis2 - wait, what?

This is really weird, ive just uploaded both lite wallets (including the nginx one) to virustotal.com and came back 100% clear on all 55 AV programs they had.
Same goes for the main NEM client.

It appears its just the URL that has been blacklisted.

I get this error now when attempting to download the installer:

Quote
The site ahead contains harmful programs

Attackers on download.nem.io might attempt to trick you into installing programs that harm your browsing experience (for example, by changing your homepage or showing extra ads on sites you visit).

I concur getting warning from Chrome?
can someone look into this ...

All of nem.io seems to be affected now.

yes even bob.nem.ninja is affected.

Maybe someone not happy with NEM rise, reported the site as malware?

Hope this can get resolved as new people looking to download the software will be turned off by this.

1138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SILKCOIN][DARKSILK PREANN][TESTING STORMNODES/DarkSIlk MARKET/I2P] on: January 16, 2016, 07:14:57 PM
My question is what will be worth keeping? Silk or DRKSILK?

It seems the price of silk will directly affect the price od DRKSLK and vice versa.
1139  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the Future of Bitcoin ? on: January 16, 2016, 07:12:13 PM
I can see a brighter future Wink
I price is going to reach $900 after the halving.

Yes, I too see bitcoin as a bag of opportunities, I think if more and more people can start using bitcoins, soon we will have something nice ! Before halving I do expect more than $2000 per one bitcoin. Anything is possible with bitcoin ecosystem so, I can expect more than that also.

I only see this happening if everyone moves over to Bitcoin XT.

Xt is dead already no one is supporting it, so there is no worry about, it

why you think that mike, left the scene, he was behind xt, and basically rage quitted because it's "baby" was not supported enough

XT could still be a success, maybe he left XT because he is over it with BTC?
There are enough supporters of it, and the cleverly engineered DDoS attacks were not enough to put them off the project.

Im not happy with a project where the devs dont listen to the community and are only thinking of themselves.
Perhaps its a cleverly engineered way to make the devs listen? Would not surprise me if they decide to increase block size as they watch the markets slump to an all new low.

Satoshi never intended on keeping a high block size anyway. Something needs to be done before the whole network falls over. Its already in a bad shape with transactions taking ages to confirm for people.
1140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SILKCOIN][DARKSILK PREANN][TESTING STORMNODES/DarkSIlk MARKET/I2P] on: January 16, 2016, 03:39:35 AM
Hi Gentlemen & Ladies...haven't been on here for awhile.  Not sure what is happening....but is the a name change planned or silkcoin to darksilk or something such going on.  I've accumulated a bunch of silkcoin and i'm curious as to the status of this coin.  Thanks

Not sure what is happening....but is the a name change planned or silkcoin to darksilk or something such going on?

Silkcoin will be able to be swapped to Silk at a 1:1 ratio on Weaver for an indefinite period.

DarkSilk will launch one month after Silk.

Weaver launches when Silk launches.

Silk has no PoW phase that rewards coins, just 10000 empty blocks to bring in PoS smoothly.

DarkSilk has unlimited PoW with a new algorithm, Argon2d. Blake2B is still used for PoS.

There will be crowdfunding phases for Silk Network development i.e. Silk, DarkSilk & Weaver which involves the sale of 4,000,000 DRKSLK.

So...I'm not a super techie guy and I'm going to be a bit painful for a lil bit.  I must convert my coin to silk from my silkcoin?  Then silkcoin to darksilk?  Is silkcoin turning into darksilk?  Sorry for these questions...I'm trying to understand the above information.  I'm willing to tip someone to help me through this process.

Is darksilk a 1:1 silkcoin?  I'm a bit of confused noob...so please bare with me.

If you want DarkSilk and want to use Silk to get some you can do that.

You can also deposit BTC to Weaver and use that to obtain either Silk or DarkSilk.

Silkcoin to Silk swap is 1:1 and the Silk to DarkSilk weave is obviously according to the market price.

Sorry for all the questions coming up...but I have good chunk of silkcoin...I've been a fan of the concept for a very long time.  What I'm not getting is...silkcoin going to become silk?  Then there is going to be another coin called Darksilk?  how do these relate?

NZMiner I answered your question in the post above yours.

Silkcoin is being swapped to a new coin called Silk and Silkcoin will cease to be traded and used.

The swap from Silkcoin to Silk will be indefinite so that no holders, like yourself, come out of the woodwork and have missed the swap and in-turn lost investment.

The Silkcoin to Silk swap is held on Weaver in its own section and is direct 1:1, this is only usable by people that held Silkcoin at the point of Silk releasing, not for any Silkcoin generated after that point.

Inside Weaver there is a service called Woven where you can "weave" between Silk, DarkSilk and Bitcoin, according to market prices from exchanges (aggregated).

All of the questions can be avoided if people just go back 30 pages and have a good read. If you are truly interested in securing your investment and learning about what we are doing, you would/will do this Cheesy

Also, read the bloody whitepaper, I didn't spend 60+ hours on that for nothing, lol - https://t.co/iUddqRZ5N8

OK, i originally thought that it was a 1:1 ration for swapping over to DRKslk
