1081  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: February 05, 2016, 01:45:58 AM
The price of namespace is really terrible. 50K is not 30 dollars.
If I buy now, and one day 1 XEM = 1 euro , I will have to live with the thought that I spent 50K euros, or 500K, if one XEM is 100, then I spent 5 Million euros.  Smiley
No one can guarantee 1 XEM will be 100 EUR, 10 EUR, 1 EUR or even 1 EURO Cent. And if so, it will take a very long time.

What do you class as a long time fir interest?
If you call 5 to 10 years a long time, then im happy!  Cheesy

Remember that BTC reached $6 billion market cap in less than 5 years.

No reason why NEM cant do that in the same amount of time if we become more successful than BTC.

And i feel that BTC will not be the kingmaker then either...
1082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: February 04, 2016, 09:17:23 PM
How are projects being developed on the private chain going to influence the value (and then price) of XEM? Could somebody elaborate on this? How are the two chains linked and is there an immediate way in which value added to private chain will translate to value added to XEM?

THX! After having been very harsh on this project, I must say I'm impressed with the behind the scenes work towards real world integration - I am forced to reconsider my previous position. Congratulations to the team so far.

I posted this before, but this explains the strategy of the private/public chain combo:
(this VC believes there will be a constellation of chains ... watch for about 5 minutes)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9CjWz2N5Hs&feature=youtu.be&t=58m22s

Mijin has only been positive for NEM and building awareness.  Over 100 companies are experimenting right now with Mijin and uses test cases.  Very likely these private chains will need to connect to other private chains via a public one.  With the same API's and platform enter NEM.

Also it has been discussed that possibly registering namespaces/mosaics in the future will require cross-chain interaction.

Yes i agree, its also possible that fees for using minjin will be paid using XEM, so win win for all.

Makoto has a brilliant business plan and i think its a huge wake up call for ripple users.
1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: February 03, 2016, 09:10:49 PM
How many developers are actually working on this coin? I think that group of people behind it is really small. I don't understand why people see future in it and what is causing the price growth?
Maybe you should read more than one page of this thread.

It's a good Q

How many?
If i am interested in a project like this, it doesn't matter how many pages i'd have to read.
So no, this is one of the most stupid questions i ever read on BTT.
To estimate the success on a basis like "how many devs are behind this" is just... yeah... stupid.

//e
small hint: page 1.

Well, we have more people working on this project than, for example DASH, if thats any help Wink

Here is Infoteria referencing NEM and their API's Smiley

https://www.infoteria.com/jp/warp/blog/asteria-warp/19396.html

Oh man, that is big.  That is software is used by over 500 medium to large size companies in Japan.  We are talking millions of customers.

Thats awesome!
I think its only a matter of time before we get added to zaif also.

We are close to topping Ybcoin currently too.
1085  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: February 03, 2016, 12:47:42 AM
Pretty clear that there are some trying to manipulate the market and push the prices down to get cheap XEM.

Just look at the charts on poloniex and see some of those sell walls.

Not working though, its been going up and down like a yo-yo all morning!
1086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: February 02, 2016, 11:00:32 AM
Looking at the growing list of the first registered namespaces i imagine where this gonna go...and its amazing: http://chain.nem.ninja/#/browse/

seems now we are in the first round..:pure registration of catchy namespaces, which gives sense to the structure of the blockchain. now imagine in a second step it will be possible to combine all this namespaces (which are also mosaics) together - to create the big picture. what will happen? it will build a natural order on top of the blogchain, which sorts all kind of content. especially when its possible to mount your namespace as a subdomain on sombodys allready sucessfull namespace...like crypto->btc->sell

Still there are a lot of important namespaces free, which are needed for a complex trading structure. I thinkthe early birds will have a impressive payout later. amazing job from the devs. Seems like we have the `worldcomputer´, Ethereum is just talking about...  Shocked

It's also funny that, if im right, a namespace costs 50k XEM, and people are buying like idiots Cheesy
If i'm right, smart people are buying NS & Mosaics now. Wink

Could be another .com boom  Cheesy
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Altcoin to invest in for 2016 and WHY on: February 02, 2016, 01:43:21 AM
What a mess! From what I saw each one points a currency, I admit that some are promising, but most of them are a lot of shitcoins.
Let's face it... Indicate the currency, say the relevant implementations and why buy it instead of others.

True that. but there are really some of those that you tend to hope it will dominate especially if you have some of them. I use to hold 150K STRs in hopes that i will be huge but turned out shit in the end lol. but two altcoin i like the most is Litecoin and Monero. Monero seem to have huge community support as well and the first to offer untraceable.

Now investors need some more innovation, not just copycats.

+1

Thats why NXT, NEM, IOTA, Ethereum are better investments.

All of them have consist of great development team absolutely you can never go wrong with your investments.

If i had enough spare cash i would be buying some ETH and IOTA.

Hard thing to know is which one will be successful, or is there room for them to all be successful and see us with multiple crypto platforms in existence?

I also see good potencial in Monero, but there is this discussion about Monero vs Dash, and I have not found a good solution yet. Someone has reliable references about it? And the botnets problem?

Forget the whole anon BS, there are other systems in place that will enable anonymity for platforms such as NXT and NEM, and even will be possible with BTC any may other alts with zerocoin.

As far as instant transactions go, others have already addressed this problem and are working on implementing it.

Chinese are pumping everything currently.

How do you know it is pumped by the Chinese? The biggest exchange is Poloniex.

I wasnt talking about ethereum in particular.

Will NEM benefit from a successful mijin?

yes Cheesy
1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XSI]StabilityShares-NEW PotCoin Partnership! on: January 30, 2016, 01:39:32 AM
I just updated my wallet and have some XSI I bought last year.

I dont have access to the Chinese exchange they are currently selling on, so would sell at a small discount for easy profit for anyone in China.

Anyone interested please pm me.   Should be a win-win situation.

Yeah thats the main problem i cant read chinese at all, if i still held my XSI, i would have had to get my friend who can read chinese to help me open an account on one of those chinese exchanges and dump the lot!

We are on (Google/Chrome/FF) blacklist again and again. This is very sad, as in this time of "Chinese pump" we should lost some new users/investors

I seriously doubt that that Chinese are ever going to "pump" a Japan related crytocurrency.

I dont think its ideal for us to get pumped by the chinese anyway, they are just speculating and pumping all the shitcoins in the world, if they leave us alone, i dont think its bad at all!
1097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Chinese pumping dead coins! on: January 28, 2016, 04:50:53 AM
Nothing attractive to me about ETH whatsoever.

NXT or NEM all the way.

while certainly fits into the title of 'dead coin' especially with it current issues, NEM's had its pump, be enough bagholders from it, and it almost the only coin on btc38 that in reversal, tis of no interest to the Chinese, surprised its even listed on btc38.

There is lots of stuff going down in Japan with NEM, the Devs have been careful not to even pump up prices with hype, rather announcing news instead of promises!

ETH seems more of a scam to me since the devs gathered millions of $ of BTC with what to show?

Looks like they got pretty rich from it.

lol 75% of the NEM thread is pumping type hype.

Rubbish, its quite the opposite actually.

this nazi shit is just disgusting.

i hope that you are just insane. and sometimes you will recover and realize.
Oh get over it.  Nazi Germany is a fading memory and a time will come when joking about it will be like joking about Ghengis Khan or something like that.  But Spoetnik is insane, I'll give you that.  And this manifests itself as insensitive trolling.

How is the shitcoin cleanup going???

One shitcoin exchange dies, two or three more shitty exchanges pop up to take more. Keep shovelin' it all in, relieve shitcoin users of their BTC!  Grin
I agree with you Siameze, but are we talking exchanges or shitcoins here?  There are some good exchanges--at least ones that haven't scammed yet.  Coinbase, the Winklevoss project (I think), Yobit, just to name a few.  All of these poopcoins just blow my sphincter.  I can't believe people waste not just bitcoin but hard-earned cash on these things.  None of them are ever ever ever in a million lifetimes going to be used for anything other than trading.  They exist simply to exist and there can be an infinite supply of them!!!

MintPal, Cryptsy, OpenEx, Coins-EX, BTER, MT Gox, ComKort, Poloniex, Crypto Trade, BTCe ?

Which one ?

Coins-E ? Their pre-announced MAXCoin launch trade market was a scam.
The order books were basically hidden.. you had to post a trade and cross your fingers.
Unlike mcxNOW who had no difficulty adding MAX on launch..

What about cryptopia and DOT ? Has anyone here investigated that one?

Cryptopia is an exchange based here in New Zealand, they are pretty legit and a registered company etc.
