2041  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra now accepts Credit Card and Paypal !!! on: September 17, 2013, 08:54:40 PM
I don't think they are....and that means people can do a chargeback for just about any reason.

Ooops!

2043  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Why the Bitcoin community HAS to save the network from HashFast, CoinTerra, BFL. on: September 16, 2013, 02:28:30 PM
"save the bitcoin network" isnt a valid argument anymore.

thats early btc adopters + asic manufactures propaganda.
Agreed. It is now the hoard of ASIC's.

For those who want to see the reviews of people whom Lajz99 has helped in his previous thread (before it got derailed):

2045  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Why the Bitcoin community HAS to save the network from HashFast, CoinTerra, BFL. on: September 16, 2013, 10:42:18 AM
A few questions:
So the ASIC companies are evil for selling a product with high market demand?
So the people buying ASIC's by the truckload are not the issue?
And this can be stopped by creating another ASIC?
What drugs are you guys on and can i have some?

1. In Bitcoin mining some laws of regular economy don't hold. For example, there would be NO demand for ASICs, if there were no ASICs anywhere. People were still mining happily with GPUs/FPGAs. ASICs just increased the difficulty rate.
2. They have no other choice, we are here to give one.
3. If you read my post properly, you would find the answer to this question. We are not creating just "another" ASIC. We are creating a low cost ASIC ($100 - $200 for a 400 to 600 GHash/sec capacity chip).
4. Irrelevant question.

May I ask how do you plan to effectively control the rate of difficulty climb?

Explain it to me, because I don't understand. Even if you are extra-ordinarily cheap by the time you release your ASIC, the prices from other vendors will probably already be matching yours.

For example, I created a CoinTerra chart a few days ago as to where their prices should be as difficulty climbs. If you look carefully by the time you ship, you will have to compete with them at their price point.

I don't quite understand how your company plans to lower ASIC prices (assuming this is the plan) to stop the crazy rise of difficulty?

Thanks to the OP for the advice not to sign for the package by the way, I'm sure that I would have naively signed for it if I hadn't read this.
Cp1

Does your tracking information show that the package is moving?
2047  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [WARNING] Do not sign for any BFL package you plan to get a refund on! on: September 16, 2013, 04:05:33 AM
I talked to my credit card company and they said to refuse the package and they'd handle getting me the refund.
do you have a reddit account? apparently bfl doesnt know that bfl is shipping orders out of queue and wants proof.

if I had the opportunity to stick it to BFL, I'd change my password to "BFLSUCKSCOCK1234", give it to grnbrg, and tell him to have a blast. The account is useless after a refund anyways.

No, it has my personal info still.

He's a BFL employee,

Nope.  Forum mod, and I've been posting news to the twitter feed that I created, but I'm not staff.  Or paid, for that matter.

Yes, I was sent an 4GH/s Jalapeno for the work I've done.  Yes, I've been more pro-BFL than most.  But that's been strained lately....

You asked for opinions. You got them. Like always, you don't like my opinions.

What could I do? <throws up hands in the air!>

Edit: Oh wait, I came up with something even funnier. You are a FanBoi and I am a ROI'er.

That is why you dislike me so much. <big shoulder shrug>

I can't find the quote but didn't you, a few weeks back, say to me "You are invisible to me."?

Please make me invisible again.  Please!
No, not that I recall? Perhaps that was another member(s).

Are you sure they didn't say "You are dead to me." ?

Think carefully, perhaps it was YipYip, it's his way of communicating love towards another member.

Edit: By the way, I chose: I carefully research each new device and proceed with caution   )

Am I stating the obvious when I say there doesn't seem to be very much middle-ground between the two?  It's very similar to the difference between liberal and conservative politics (please don't make this a political discussion).  Each side thinks they have all of the answers and the other side is a bunch of moronic losers.  Lol.

For example, I will point out an obvious point.

The FanBoi's are [usually] irrational members who will [by definition] support their favorite company even when they do egregious harm on the BitCoin community.

People interested in ROI are looking at ASIC manufacturers as a means to an end. They are worried about balancing their financial income vs debt when buying hardware. In most cases, a rational endeavor....but not always carried out in a rational way.

Full disclosure... I admit, I'm a bit of an ASIC fanboy.  Every new product announcement gets my interest.  I try to weed-out the obvious scams but it has become much more difficult.  Currently, I have dozens of USB Erupter, 6 Blades and 2 Bitfury Starter Kits.  I also have another Bitfury October preorder and KnC preorder.  I'm not into this to make money although returning my original investment would be nice.  But I'm having a lot of fun regardless.

Correction, you are a BFL ASIC Fanboi. Just to be clear on the record.

I've temporarily unignored you since I started this thread and I'm slightly curious if you had anything constructive to add.

And nope, as usual, you have nothing to add to the discussion.  Please go away.  You won't be missed.
If you want me to say something constructive, then pick a topic. I assure you I can be just as (or even more) rational than you imagine.

Folks, this is a refund request thread. OP has made it pretty clear he doesn't care too much about the reasons only that he can give people a way out via a refund.

So lets save the drama about whether people deserve a refund or not for some other thread.

I invite you all to come to the " BFL fucks us again" thread. thanks.
2054  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Butterfly Labs on: September 15, 2013, 05:19:20 PM
Alright PG,

It's time for you to debrief the community. Lets take this nice and slow.

=============Puts on Interrogation Cap with butterflies to make him feel safe and at home==============

Tell us, specifically and with many details, when you were invited on the trip to BFL HQ?

What was said when they (or you) approached them for the trip?
2055  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [PSA] Don't buy BFL preorder transfers on: September 15, 2013, 03:51:38 PM
Why? Even with escrow they are worth 0.

Seller: Offering escrow.
Buyer: Ok I'm in. *pays into escrow*
Seller: Sends transfer orders.
*escrow released*
*a few weeks pass*
Seller to payment processor: I never received order, refund it.
*payment processor forces refund*
BFL: WTF ONG Y U NO PAY I CANCEL ORDER NOW
Buyer: .....fuck.

You cant protect yourself against this, you're already in one scam, don't fall for it again.
I called it a scam first!
2056  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 15, 2013, 03:42:45 PM

Well thats a nice approach of 'I did it my way , I dont care if you like it or not' Cheesy

I was merely considering doing an infographic on it to help further the cause but if you insist it is a 'trade secret' for people to get their money back , thats your own selfishness I cant comment on that.

Another reason for not making the method public is that it could quickly zero out the seller's Paypal wallet, and no further reversals could be made.  Not everyone can go the chargeback route because it's over 90 days.

If you make an infographic about it and it doesn't work (because either Paypal closes the door, or the wallet empties), people will blame you.
Exactly!

Gotta keep Josh and Sonny delivering the 100 to 250k per day at the bank. It's good exercise.
2057  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Want a BFL PayPal refund? PM me. on: September 15, 2013, 03:40:28 PM

No no , you guys do not understand me , I am not saying he is doing it in return of the cash , I am saying he forces the hand. It is like 'if I go to dominos and buy a pizza and bring it home , I am not paying a tip at there , but if dominos brings me the pizza with delivery , I pay the guy a tip for bringing , I dont have to , but I usually do '

Thats the case here , I am not starting a hate deal here , it was just a mere observation , I still dont understand the reason of not publicly putting it out there , the reasons given sounds to weak to be real. I think 'how to' part should be an infographic out on the internet , and it is weird how noone published how they have done it so far respecting OP's request, gratz.
Lazj99 is just regulating the flow of refunds so that the methods remain effective.

In essence, he is a regulating valve on the spigot of returns.

Too many and the refund window may explode. Just let him be, if people give him some big tips for a 100% recovery of their funds then no one is harmed in the process.

His method is sound in regulating the number of refunds arriving at PayPals desk. Hes probably getting 50 to 100 folks per day. It will be a while before the flood turns into a trickle.

Someone with a valid account should go to BFL forums and let people know about the refund opportunity that Lazj99 offers.

This thread makes me  Grin (one of the few in this forum).

I'm so glad I'm able to help so many of you out!  For now, I'm going to continue sending information privately via PM rather than posting like I thought I might.  It seems to be working for people so lets keep it going!  (I'll save my rant on BFL for when everyone who needs help has been helped)
We salute you sir! Good work.
2059  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: September 15, 2013, 01:20:54 AM

Here is some free advice Josh,

Instead of coding chip vouchers, classified sections to transfer orders here is something you can work on for something I like to call increased (or in your case an attempt to salvage..) customer satisfaction.

Create a mining pool for BFL customers who are still waiting for their hardware,
load it with wallet addresses that we each put into our user profile.

Put everyone in the pool.

Burn in all the BFL gear to that pool, so we can split the earnings,
and while you are at it, throw 10 Mini-Rigs into the pool as a show of good faith.

When you ship our orders leave us in the pool until you have really cleared the backlog.

What would that cost you? Bigger question what would that gain you?

These are the things us real world C Suite people do.

Actually sounds like a novel idea...
