1661  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: March 22, 2014, 05:16:36 AM
Wait so let me get this right.

Hashfast is low on money even though they had "investors" and ripped off every customer they had via preorders.

Now they need help so they are turning to a 16 year old scammer to build them a production line so they can ship out the overpriced and obsolete hardware they promised nearly 5 months ago.

This has to be a joke. Now I understand why many don't take bitcoin seriously.
Hello, I have come back to check what happened to HashFast after I estimated they couldn't keep from running headlong into multiple deadlines from future batch commitments.

I have only read the last three pages, but the basic idea is that they didn't deliver batch 2+ and no MPP for batch 1, correct?
1662  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I have not received usd deposit in my BTC-e account on: February 28, 2014, 09:06:30 AM
I contacted my bank and they ordered an investigation. I had a response saying the funds had been deposited 8 day ago, but I have not received my deposit in my BTC-e account yet  Huh
If anyone else had a similar problem, let me share how things have evolved.

Can you please get support to urgently look at Ticket ID: #CQJ-715-46919?

Thank you

hello, thank you that you've indicated immediately ticket number, we answered your ticket.
@ naiden

Was your issue immediately resolved by BTC-e?
1663  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox is dead. on: February 25, 2014, 10:04:47 AM
And in case you don't understand...yes, you were trading with non-existent and fake virtual bitcoins ?tokens?. They were never really on the exchange...apparently.
1664  Economy / Service Discussion / REALLY....Mt Gox is dead. on: February 25, 2014, 10:01:02 AM
Yesterday it was like around $348 and today dropped again to less than $150.

What's going on with mtgox?

Traders who aren`t scared are making money by buying low and selling high. I only had 1 bitcoin in mtgox a few days ago - now I have 6.5, just selling that one bitcoin on highs and buying back on lows.
Walla, now you have nothing!

Friends,

I know a couple of you are using VPS's to run your Butter-Bots.. Can anyone share their experience, let us know which the best ones out there are and what issues, if any, they faced during installation?

Thank you,
  Pablo.
Works fine on VMWare (ESXi 5.1).
1666  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: February 13, 2014, 05:10:46 AM
Has anyone received a batch 2 shipment? This company is unbelievable... "guaranteed delivery" Jan 31 without so much as a peep from these scammers
If it's anything like the first batch, you have 15 days to give them notice that you require a refund.

Otherwise, if it is anything like batch 1, they will automatically assume you are giving them 30 extra days for delivery.

(In case Batch 2 customers don't know OR realize this)
1667  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: February 10, 2014, 02:32:55 PM
Apparently Gmaxwell is a bitcoin core programmer?

Hmm, now he can officially say that HashFast has screwed the heart and soul of Bitcoin. (as one of their customers!)
1668  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Time to sue ButterflyLabs - Big Single-SC owner let's league for class action on: February 08, 2014, 12:01:23 AM
Just read through his complaint, pretty damning....

http://ia700702.us.archive.org/13/items/gov.uscourts.ksd.95395/gov.uscourts.ksd.95395.2.0.pdf

The last one was in small claims court, this one is in a district court.

Whew, I liked the complaints. All pretty legitimate~! (and damning)
1670  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: RTBTC - Bitcoin Exchange Trading Interface on: February 07, 2014, 09:01:11 PM
I don't think many people use gox. Please bring BTC-E online when you have a chance..
Regards,
Brian
I don't use MTGOX anymore and the price has evened out with all other trading platforms.

Despite that, I just purchased another 6 months of RTBTC but the balance has not changed to reflect the new subscription.

(Even after 90+ confirmations)

I emailed early in the morning inquiring about this but I guess it must be back logged.
1671  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: February 06, 2014, 03:07:27 AM
Also according to the court documents, they knew that their mailing address was wrong in early December which is why they weren't receiving notices when they were getting sued by that other guy in small claims court back in November.
Related but unrelated, my lawyer's proxy tried to serve the documents to the address on the HashFast invoice yesterday, and failed. The number (175) simply doesn't exist.
What was the full address?

I want to make a collection of all the fake addresses OR all the addresses with "bad" information. (such as the previous one with a wrong zip code.)
1672  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: February 06, 2014, 03:05:54 AM

Interesting reading. Thanks, Pete (and good luck with your own lawsuit).

Also interesting is that the case was filed on Dec. 2nd 2013 and BFL has been aware of it since early Dec.  Also according to the court documents, they knew that their mailing address was wrong in early December which is why they weren't receiving notices when they were getting sued by that other guy in small claims court back in November.  Wasn't that one BFL guy in this thread throughout Dec. claiming he didn't know why they never heard about it?  He is either incredibly incompetent or a pathological liar.
Which gives credence to our words against his/companies practices.

Quote
Neither BFL nor its attorney, James M. Humphrey, responded to Ars’ repeated requests by phone and e-mail for comment.

Meissner’s attorney, Robert Flynn, told Ars that he has already been contacted by “multiple” people, including other local attorneys with similar complaints, although this is the first suit that he’s filed. If Meissner’s case is successful, it appears likely that it could pave the way for future litigation against BFL.
1673  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} Butterfly Labs will give their customers a FREEEEEE "Monarch" on: February 04, 2014, 11:38:07 PM
Every newbie should buy from BFL in bulk.

When they realize the mistake they made, they won't be able to get their (re)funds back, right BCP?

BFL is helping the community by weeding out the unwise and alleviating them of their wallets full of cash and any notions of profit. Lets welcome them, these newbies never had a chance to see what hit them after buying from BFL.

BFL is the scarecrow of the Bitcoin Community. Except this scarecrow digs pits and lemmings fall right in never to (hopefully) recover.

---------------------------

We can just get rich from all the discouragement that people get when they invest in the wrong....I mean right company.

1674  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: {BFL} Butterfly Labs will give their customers a FREEEEEE "Monarch" on: February 04, 2014, 11:31:57 PM
I have to admit, I've always been pretty amused by the butthurtness against BFL... but I'll explain why:

I came across a guy on ebay selling pre-orders for jalapenos at $600 bucks as early as July 2012... after doing a bit of research on the new "ASIC" devices that were being imagined, I looked up BFL's site directly and saw they were selling pre-orders for $150. I thought, "this is as big of a gamble as the $400 I spent on buying bitcoin at $6 and now its at $10, so what the hell."

Sure, I saw they were supposed to ship in October and it was August 2012 at the time, but I had just sold a bunch of crap on ebay and had some paypal money sitting around. So I went for it.

Since I was/am a believer in the future value of Bitcoins, there was no way I was going to spend (and potentially lose) 15 bitcoins on it, but $150? Sure, that's essentially nothing since it won't be worth $150 if spent later.

October came and went..... and I'd almost forgotten about the purchase. Then came the beginning of the great mania of early 2013 when the price started climbing....$20, $30, $40, $65.... that's when I started looking at what happened to that $150 I'd spent.... and that was when I first found the people FREAKING OUT that they'd sunk bitcoins into their pre-orders and those little devices were now costing them $1000.

"Huh," I thought, "...well, at least I'm only out $150 in play-money from paypal."

Then towards the end of May, I got an email from BFL asking me if I wanted to upgrade my device to 7.5gh/s for an extra $100... I quickly wrote back asking if it would change my place in the shipping cue.... to which they responded, "No, you are still scheduled to ship at the end of May." So another $100 of paypal money went to BFL.  So along with shipping, I was in for a grand total of $265.

Just as promised, my box arrived about a week later.... 10 months after I gambled on a preorder.... and now 8 months later, it has mined me about 11 bitcoins. Of course, it doesn't generate that much now... but if one is long on bitcoin, then even .002 a day is something.

I've remained silent about my positive experience with BFL since there are still people who are pretty butthurt about their unsuccessful gambling, but I figure now is as good of a time as any to say: THANKS BFL!
Full disclosure:  I had a first-day preorder for 60GH/s units from BFL.  I spent 450 BTC on them, and made maybe 100 BTC back at this point.  I would have been far better off simply holding the BTC I had, but that is a lesson learned, and I don't hold anyone but myself responsible for it.  People who are butthurt about it should learn from their mistakes and stop pre-ordering miners.

Very true, Just for the record I am butthurt lol :0) but Ill get over it in 2 weeks LOL ~
But like I said, I don't want others to make the same mistake WE made Smiley
The sad part about this is that you try so hard to prevent people from 'making the same mistake' you did, yet you go so over the top that you actually end up promoting the company instead of hindering it.  Your keep the BFL name right up there are the top for all to see, and the average person who reads it will basically roll their eyes at the rabid posts by all the Butthurt Fairy Lads who feel it is their civic duty to point out every little mistake as if it were a crime against God.

Caveat Emptor is all that needs to be said, in truth about ALL asic companies, but there are fools out there who seem to think they can still strike it rich.  It's the California Gold Rush all over again, and the guy selling shovels is the only smart one in the bunch.
Then they are doing a good thing. They are sending sheeple newbies over the cliff like lemmings.

We win.

They won't make any money by buying BFL, they will also basically go broke by BFL.

Win/Win?
1675  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: February 02, 2014, 08:46:34 AM
Food for thought:

This is going to be a bigger mess if...

1: The court finds that you "spent customers money" to hire lawyers. (That is not an "acceptable use of customer/investor funds".)
2: They find you in contempt of "placing customers at risk", by "spending money on risky things". (Like buying hardware that you are not even sure will function, or is required, or has not been "approved for use".)
3: Refused ANY "reasonable" refund, at any point in time.
4: Attempted to "hide", or "disassociate", critical contact information, or "pretend" to "be bankrupt". (Announce you are closing shop, and walk away without having filed a lawful claim first.)

You can't just "pretend to be a business". If you "claim to be a business", or attempt to "operate like a business", you usually need the proper license and protections that most businesses are required to have. (For "consumer protection.")

You can not operate as a "high-risk" or "high-loss", investment broker, without the proper license. (When you spend others money, for goods and services that "might not work, or have risk and high losses", that makes you a broker of technology. That makes the customer an "investor", who, at least, "needs to be informed that any and all funds are not secured and can be potentially lost." Since that is not a normal assumption for a "customer" buying from a "business/store/shop".)

Takes more than a single idea to make a business. However, it only takes a single idea to ruin an imaginary business.

Next time, start with hiring a lawyer. Then invest your own money in the foundation. Then secure customers funds, and use that secured funds to initiate a loan for the actual building of things. At no point in time, should you have EVER used the customers money directly, to pay for things. Which includes spending customers money to hire lawyers. (Which you will have to prove to a judge, now that I said it.)
Different company, same application of logic?

Alright, I have an unofficial high probability statement to make.

You will not be receiving your Batch 1 MPP in the next 5 days. Please forward all complaints to refunds@hashfast.com

HashFast, please prove me wrong....especially in writing with that DeCastro account.

My uneducated guess is that MPP won't ship while they have time at Ciarra booked.  Once they lose their slot, they will be more likely to ship modules/products that don't require Ciarra assembly (rather than just sit on them).  I am assuming that they have plenty of modules available and assembly is the long pole.
When will they lose their slot?

the HFB comes with a one page manual "Welcome to your new Baby Jet" and a 3 (three) page "Cover our ass Limited Hardware Warranties" stating you are SOL when the hardware does not work as it's always your fault when it breaks.
Now, this is funny.

It's clear the lawyer has completely taken over any common sense
Looks like so... Btw, have anyone ever noticed that one of the business address we have of HF is exactly the same as the lawyers' business address?

HashFast Technologies LLC
649 Mission Street 5th Floor
San Francisco, CA 90291

Strategic Counsel Corp.
649 Mission Street, Fifth Floor
San Francisco, CA 94105

Did anyone notice they [seemingly] intentionally used a fake Zip code for the address?

I can only assume they did not want any "official mail" coming to their inbox?

Quick serve them in small claims court and then win on the default judgement. [just kidding!]

1680  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: January 30, 2014, 08:58:33 PM
As for taxes, the commercial invoice from Ciaratech states each unit costs $608.8 so FedEx in Europe will send you a VAT invoice for that after customs has done their job. It does list "Engineering Samples" but that won't stop customs from googling and finding out the declared value does not match what you paid.
Woops, that seems to be a case of fraud.
They had better call customers and customs quick to resolve the issue.
This fact surprised me as well, but maybe they just split the value up with this and the following mpp shipments.
I would not jump to conclusions.   A large company the exports all the time is not going to put the wrong value on a shipment and risk their business.
Agreed. We agree on at least this much. I highly doubt this error was from CiaraTech.

1.   It could be that Ciara (sp?) is clearing customs in the EU as the importer and in that case using their COST would be correct.
If they hired CiaraTech then why would they create their own company for importing their own products to end users?

They also signified it was an "Engineering Sample". Plain and simple, it is neither a sample nor a prototype.

It is "Merchandise".

The email on payment of VAT would be incorrect though,
Agreed.

it should be on the price paid (but not a big deal, they may not know and the govt will tell you I am sure).
I disagree, it is a big deal. VAT in EU countries is usually 20 to 30% of the value of a product.

Couple this with the "Engineering Sample" and you pretty much have a clear indication that these packages are trying to avoid tax. CiaraTech placing packages in transit for the EU with a value of 10% to an end user...hmm...not good.

That means there is about a 90% VAT left to be paid.

On your second point, HF is a new company with a new product. It's not exactly like they are well known. It's not a iPhone.

2.  It could be that the amount paid is now divided over all the units you are receiving and you are the importer.   In that case, it would be correct.
Is there any evidence that they have registered an EU importers license?  Lips sealed

3.  Or it could just be an error.   I see 1 and 2 as more likely.   No ongoing concern in business will put false prices on invoices to benefit someone else.   It is not worth it.
Agreed.
