2061  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Falling Directly Timed for Launch of Ethereum on: January 14, 2015, 07:53:01 AM
If you haven't noticed. It's going to be XPY. Majority of people are moving fund to XPY because that's more profitable than any other coin out there. It's going to replace BTC (May be) but that's next coin in the list after BTC.

Ethereum will be there but just as an another altcoin.

Why?

Because XPY has  community, billions of $ for development and solid user base. They've achieved what any other altcoin could only wish for. They're going to be no.1 by March.

Highest volume in major exchange since the launch.  Cool

Also, Keep in mind even at its lowest Bitcoin still has 5000x more value than your shitcoin.  Grin

it's easy to give up otherwise everyone would be a winner in this world. It takes a man to say "fck it if I drown let it be". I've lost tremendous amount of BTC in market but one day I got up and told myself "Fck this, I'm going to figure out a way to make profit from this mess" and you know what? I did learn how to make profit and I'm glad.

yes, off course. If it dies, the other crypto currencies will be doomed to fail as well. It is the future of the crypto currency world!

lol. no

2067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will bitcoin still have value next yr on: January 13, 2015, 01:46:34 PM
Tomorrow it'll hit $150

then $100

then $50

then $20

then $1

then it'll go back to 0.10

that's when Wallstreet will buy all of it and control the market like it's their playground.

2071  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Official BitBay Thread |Smart Contracts Wallet UPDATE|Decentralized Marketplace on: January 13, 2015, 11:57:05 AM
Hi guys

I could have some prospective big investors, but need a roadmap for the upcoming year...

Thank you

Roadmap:
Next up is windows and Mac clients. Then markets. The target is one month but may take two. After that I release NightTraders microtrader for blackcoin. And also will do pegging and cold staking all the same 1-2 months. So total should be 2-3 months target. If there are any delays it shouldnt be so much.
pegging means 1 $ for 1 Bay? Or did i get something wrong? I am not that big invested in Bay. Maybe i should?  Grin

Not at first, most likely a much lower price than that... but the plan is to peg it to SOME value. Likely $0.01 or less at first, then increasing as time goes on.

that's how I would prefer it. Pegging it to $1 straight would cause people to dump. If we peg it to lets say .01, then .02 then .10 so on and so forth we'll be getting new investors even after we peg. Someone who buys at 0.01 would wait till hits 0.02 and then there will be buyers who wants it at 0.02 because they want to cash out at 0.03. Market will be more stable this way.

Increase $0.01 each month until we reach $1. That would give us a lot more visibility.

Pro tip: Tie your cellphone to ceiling fan and turn it on for an hour for maximum mangocoinz  Grin

Edit: Don't bother

I'm getting kind of turn off by Mangocoinz  Angry. Walking and running doesn't mine anything. Only way I can mine is by shaking the phone and even then I have to shake it for 5 minutes to get half a mangoz  Angry. What's the point of allowing 7 mangoz/day when you can't even mine them?  Huh

Difficulty is killing mangocoinz right now and I'm not sure how we would  attract new users with this much difficulty. I showed it to my sister and she downloaded it and uninstalled it after a day and her reason was "It doesn't do anything". It's almost pointless to even download the app for new users..most will uninstall it if they aren't seeing any progress when they go for a run.

just my few cents.

Give it a real chance man, this is extremely early stages and many things will be changed to make it the best it can be. You raise a great point but I am pretty sure the devs are going to take care of it very, very soon.

Why haven't you submitted a logo yet?

I haven't given up. I'm just saying It'll be harder to invite new users with this much difficulty right now. New users want to know the purpose of the application and if it's not working they'll uninstall it. If I leave phone in my pocket all day I earn 0.01 coin I don't care much but if I bring more audience they'll get turned off real quick. May be if there is some purpose behind it they'll be more inclined to keep it. Right now they look at it as something they can convert to $ and if one mgz=0.0001 that's barely any money for new users.

I tried to tell her about Bitcoin and how it was at 0.10 at one time but that wasn't enough to attract her.  Tongue

Logo? Is there a logo competition going on that I'm unaware of?

link?

I agree but most exchanges don't accept USD.

USD isn't used worldwide

If US gets wiped out so will USD

BTC = Worldwide money

2077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If Paycoin Succeeds, It Could Be More Dangerous Than If It Fails... on: January 13, 2015, 08:15:07 AM
It took me over a week to put this together, and I am sure there are mistakes in it.  Paycoin becoming successful could be very dangerous, as it is the first time I have witnessed a currency that is quasi-decentralized with the potential to appeal to the banking sector.  If this thing actually takes off, it could truly take over...and it doesn't even need the majority of the cryptocurrency community to do it.

Anyway, I highly suggest that people read over this, and take it seriously.  I know many people think GAW is a joke, and Paycoin is a scam...which is quite possible.  However, it is also possible that they have supporters with deep pockets (explaining the willingness to do things that are unprofitable in the short term).  If Paycoin is even moderately successful, it will be an extremely powerful proof of concept to use to get financial institutions onboard.

I'm posting this here, in the Bitcoin Discussion forum, as I feel like this is a danger to Bitcoin.  I have no idea what to do to stop it, but maybe someone that has written GAW off as 100% scam, or has just ignored Paycoin, will consider this possibility and think of something to prevent this if it begins.

I think it'll succeed for few reasons:

1.) I'm not sure what Josh had planned before but lot of people have pissed him off. Now he'll do all he can to make sure XPY succeeds. We're talking millions of dollars spent on XPY development.

2.) Josh needs to gain back trust of lot of people and buying back their paycoin for $20 is the best way to do it from business point of view.

3.) Long term profit is more lucrative than short term. He knows very well that if he tries to run away with quick profit he'll burn lot of bridges with loyal customers who brings him monthly profit and they'll be lifetime loyal customers as long as paycoin delivers what was promised.

4.) If XPY succeeds it'll give him an opportunity to create more cryptocurrency in future therefore more profit.

5.) XPY has been on news too much that means it has more visibility than any other altcoin have. It also means more buyers.

6.) It is very possible that XPY ends up becoming next Bitcoin.

People are retarded to think it's a scam at this point. All they're doing is pissing him off and he is going to prove them wrong regardless if it was a scam or not because it's hurting his business. Since launch XPY has had highest volume on two of the biggest exchange that's a HUGE progress for any altcoin. Most crypto wish they could be XPY and have highest volume in top exchanges.

Some might call it scam on basis that they stole logo and codes but guess what? Bill Gates is one of the biggest thief in the history and everyone is using his OS. Average joe who have never heard of digital currency don't care as long as it's easy to get hold of Wink
2078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin XPY promises $20 a coin? on: January 13, 2015, 08:05:43 AM
was very excited to the email from gaw saying they would hold to the 20$ mark!   Not sure if I want to take a quick profit and just keep some or wait for the 20..... tough decisions.

Why not both?  Grin

We all know that this will pump till Feb 1st. Smart traders would use it as an opportunity to make quick profit on daily basis and then cash out when it hits $20.

Volume increased from 150 BTC to 743 BTC within a day and it's still going up while price hasn't moved much. You know what that means, right?

I'm watching the chart and looking at how someone is trying to manipulate the market so he can collect as much as he can before pumps begin.

This is dream come true for whales.
2079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Campaign to BOYCOTT BITCOIN! on: January 12, 2015, 05:54:20 PM
yes, scams are a problem. And i suspect a good  portion of those scams is orchestrated by the bitcoiners to hold the alts down and teach people "just stay with bitcoin". It also explains why these scams are allowed here.

-----------
HOLY COW! I just had my daily moment of clarity.

but
I think it is mostly mid-range whales.
Guys that scored less than 100-1000btc.

In alts they discovered the art of pump and dump.
And tripled themselves to 300-3000btc.
They've milked that cow dry.

HOWEVER
that pile of scam coin loot is starting to rot
as the bitcoin drops back to reality after a 14month binge

Most will hit the doors for $fiat
oh ... mtGox, Stamp-pede 2015
yeah that

Others will dump into the alt market.

And we are talking super SUPER dumpage.

There are many btc whales that never dumped.  Yeah they sold 100 here and there.
But that stash of 10,000 has never touched the market.  In this denial stage of the market they are pissed but hopeful.
"I was worth millions!"

CAPITULATION
"Bitcoin $200 - $150 - $50 !!!"
That is when the whales start to dump in numbers you've never seen.

So you have noobs who are dumping investment $10k(#15 coins)
and whales who are dumping investment i-mined-them-in-2012(#10000 coins)
and the corps who are dumping (microsoft, overstock, dell)

What's the bottom of that market?

nah. they'll cash out when BTC hits below $200. Lot of them already have. Those who are playing with altcoin markets are traders and rest are just holders. They wouldn't know what to do with the market even if they dump their coins. They'll end up losing it if they don't know what the fck they're doing.

Just because someone has 5000 BTC doesn't mean he can play with altcoin market. He would be left with no choice but divest but I think majority holders have already divested when market was $1200. Now they just buy bitcoins because they have luxury to do so. I don't think many are even holding that much.

People who had 5000-10000 BTC that became $12000000. You think they would just wait for BTC to get to $50 before cashing out? Market has been on decline since January
2080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Today's crypto scene is an exact mirror image of 6 November 2013 & 10 April 2013 on: January 12, 2015, 05:26:15 PM
well this time they're going downwards  Tongue

It should be interesting to see if this is the lowest the BTC price will go. After the April 2013 peak, prices never dipped to the previous ATH ($33). The lowest it went was about $70. This time it seems to be different. We've already pretty much reached the ATH of April 2013. I wonder what this means for Bitcoin. Could this be a bad sign?

Definitely a bad sign. Back then we didn't have these many people mining and most were buyers. Now majority are sellers and people are dumping $1.2 million worth of coins in market on daily basis.

We got shops, we got businesses but we need buyers desperately. This is bad time for bitcoin.

Now people would look at chart and go "wtf! price ihas been on decline since January. I'm not buying". I wish it didn't drop this much because it looks really bad to new guys.
