2081  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I was a miner and I will be again on: November 09, 2017, 11:19:33 AM
Just to present me and do not inquinate other threads.

I'm vetz and I was a miner. I mined a few btc in 2012 and I stopped after a month because btc was very low on value.
What a idiot!

No need to call yourself an idiot for that because it's in human nature that when we give something, we expect something in return and when we don't get it, we leave it. The same is the case with many other Bitcoiners who did just like you and lost their chances of being millionaires or even billionaires of today's date in many ways, some bought pizzas and some crashed/threw their hard drives while others sold off in panic.

Quote
Now I'm going to start mining again!

Thank you for your patience and trusts!

Bye

Great that you decided to mine Bitcoins again, but (not discouraging you but telling you the truth) that I believe you are quite too late here. Not just did Bitcoins touch the sky alone, but the difficulty to mine has also been breaking records daily to keep up with the value and make it more and more hard for every miner to be able to solve the blocks. Only difference it makes here is, you will need some expensive hardware now to start mining Bitcoins and ROI takes much longer than before.
2082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2X Cancelled on: November 09, 2017, 10:39:48 AM
This is the sexiest news I/we had all been waiting for since the drama emerged for 2x. I believe they won't stop here and will come back in the future and you may call it "postponed" instead of "canceled", but this shows that Bitcoin wins the miners' hearts as well as investors' confidence and the index levels are enough to prove that. RIP S2X, let us begin our journey to 10k (but after a possible correction of 500 - 1500 USD down). Wink

Continued price increase means lots of people still haven't gotten this news. WTH ... no free coins, oh damn what to do, should i stay or go .... the slightest dip now will send BTC tumbling

How ugly you people are to say "no free coins". You don't want something better for Bitcoins?
S2X called off as they were unable to gain trust, do you believe those coins would have been worth anything more than dust?
The consensus remained under 30% which shows that nobody was interested in these "free coins" whatsoever. S2X was just going to ruin everything by trying to move the markets as well as technology where they wanted to.

snip -

I do believe they will come back someday. I expected the price will move down because of this news. Therefore I can start buying some, hold it and waiting for the next fork.

Surely, they will as a dog's tail is crooked forever. Price will come down but not the way everybody thinks, it won't tank all of a sudden but slowly settle down a bit after taking a shift back towards breaking ATH and going above 10k. Again, a fork? No need for it, I know its inevitability won't fade but let's not talk about such things anymore.
2083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When ICO rush will stop? on: November 09, 2017, 10:31:21 AM
Hi, everyone!
I became familiar with ICO world only 3 months ago, now I see how many new projects have appeared during that period.
I think the amount is enormous, so many different projects even with repeating ideas!

They are popping because they are free to be seen with their "scam" projects (mostly) as nobody is here to regulate them yet, or verify their identities as well as the project they put in front of us. ERC20 or Waves tokens can be easily created with the help of resources available, which helped "scammers" a lot, before.

Quote
When do think will this rush stop and why? Huh

This can only stop when a real committee/panel gets set up by either the community members here or SEC to help verify these projects before they go live, and when it all stops the scammers, it will also ensure that only quality-based ICOs will be up and running for the purpose of everyone's good.
2084  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-09] Fiat Currency Will be Laughable in Five Years Says Billionaire Tim on: November 09, 2017, 10:16:04 AM
Tim draper is not less than a paradigm of hodling and patience to me as I remember when he bought the seized coins in auction at 650 and price went off to 250 all of a sudden. He didn't lose hope and is now experiencing the best returns over his investment not many could have. His prediction about Bitcoins going to 10k will be accomplished this year itself and his statement on fiat currency, if goes true, then I believe that Asian countries like China and India will regret their decision on not supporting bitcoins and going for their own fiat-controlled cryptocurrencies. You need a lot of courage to be Tim Draper, that's all I know about that man.
2085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit2x is dead, long live Bitcoin on: November 08, 2017, 06:57:55 PM
Great news altcoins are going crazy !!

Yeah, the rally is going to be huge for altcoins this time as they are now catching up the heat with the announcement that had been long awaited and since had been pain in the head of every Bitcoiner - S2X. This is our victory that needs to be celebrated, but on other hand, I would like to caution you of the effects this could have over Bitcoins currently - the correction of the price will prove to be very dangerous today and those not familiar with trading should not touch it at least for today because the fluctuations will be huge and losses could also be variable. Crash has started and it was certain this was going to happen.

2087  Economy / Economics / Re: Where will BTC be 10 years from now? on: November 08, 2017, 05:43:22 PM
So will BTC be anywhere 10 years from now?

In the list of the most safe-haven assets. It is not just gaining because of its properties but the big number of users making record highs in terms of daily sign ups where an exchange recorded a 100k users' registration in just a day shows how eager have people become to just invest in Bitcoins. I believe they should first learn about the cryptocurrency because half-knowledge is dangerous to the health of their portfolio.

Quote
or would it have been replaced for something better and more inovative?

Could be possible, or couldn't. There are already many coins that I believe, have much better properties and characteristics than Bitcoins but if they were not so capable of attracting the investors' base during these voluptuous 8 years of Bitcoins, then nothing could beat it in the next 10 years too.
2088  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Between Ether and Bitcoin, which will be on top in 5 years? on: November 08, 2017, 05:31:11 PM
Bitcoin has proven its superiority by helping the market cap to raise above 205 Billion out of which Bitcoin possesses 130 Billion belongs to Bitcoins alone whereas Ethereum stands at 2nd highest with 28 billion market cap. Ethereum has smart contracts and since ICOs came into existence, its ERC20 technology has helped many companies to come up with their projects with ease but still unable to capture even half of the market cap of Bitcoins yet. I think Bitcoin will always be superior to all the altcoins because it's bitcoin at the other end to transact alts as well as give value to them.
2089  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin exchange rate on: November 08, 2017, 02:39:29 PM
Im new here and i just want to ask a question..

Welcome aboard. We all will try our best to help you with your queries.

Quote
Does bitcoin exchange rate varies from time to time?

Yes, and it's not just limited to the value that varies every second on just one exchange, it varies from exchange to exchange based on the trading. It's because of the nature of Bitcoins that it's not stable at a fixed rate and can be sold at any values (that we prefer).

Quote
If so, when is the best time to convert bitcoin into money?

It depends on your decision, because the best time according to me is when you really need fiat on hands.

Quote
Is it necessary to just save all the bitcoin and trade or use it after several years?

No, you don't really need to. But I believe that holding gives great rewards than selling immediately.
Do you eat the seeds? No, right? You sow them, reap the fruits after waiting for some quality time to get the sweetness that you expect.
2090  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Meaning of leaving money on the exchange on: November 08, 2017, 01:32:38 PM
Keeping your money (fiat or coins) over exchanges means it is prone to threats of being hacked either via your account OR if the exchange goes offline or gets hacked via some DoS attacks. Leaving money over exchanges is like leaving it on the table for someone to come and snatch it away in front of your eyes. It's always better to have a safe (cold) wallet to store your coins and withdraw your stash every 2 - 3 days or weekly out of the exchange to work it out for yourself. It will always protect you from the possible worst situations that could happen any time now as Bitcoin has gained a lot more momentum and it's really hard to believe any online services to store it now.
2091  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie story - Everything started with a Big Mac... on: November 08, 2017, 01:22:37 PM
A very "late" hello to you as you are quite late Buddy.
If you ever tried back to research about Bitcoins before and put some money instead of buying some more "big macs" either to your friend or yourself, I believe you might have held a lot of amount in fiat, which if you even spend on some luxurious foods, will never diminish the quantity and with the increasing values and only give you some great opportunities to eat up more and better. Wink
But I like the way how you forgot about your coins which were near to something and are now worth too much, this could be said to be the best strategy to hold by forgetting about your coins (but not the private keys of course). Tongue
2092  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC analysis for this month! on: November 08, 2017, 12:39:20 PM
UPDATE: We have finally accomplished our target of 7500 USD per BTC which is an incredible achievement for all of us.
This confirms that we will be heading towards 10k in 2017 itself and it will be very smooth this time as the levels above this look much easier due to the current market cap that's increasing day by day and BTC is looking to prove its majority above alts. May all those weak hands RIP who never believed this will be here (said for some special people I personally know).

True, many people doubted bitcoin and never believed that it will be this big. The chart is still going upward and it is looking good for all of us especially the holders because this will prove how important it is to be patient and to be smart in earning bitcoin. Regret will be regret and I know many people will feel this because many have gone panic selling during the hard fork.

It's still a mystery how everything will go at first place after the fork as there doesn't seem to be a replay protection attached to S2X hard fork and many confusions as well as misconceptions are already there in the markets that are misleading everyone about the fact on Bitcoins and B2X. I see the price dropping a bit near 6000 - 6500 range after the fork for the majority to show which Bitcoin will they support and if the current coin remains the choice of majority, then we will be above 10k this year itself which is now my main target. This is the place which I have been waiting for.
2093  Economy / Reputation / Re: Gaining trust as a beginner on: November 08, 2017, 12:30:42 PM
Willing to show someone that I can be trusted since I'm a newbie. This website is very helpful to the good people I see.

The only way to "gain" trust is not by asking for the same, because that's where you are not right.
It's better to slowly gain it by doing several types of contributing activities like helping others over the forum with the knowledge or skills you have, transacting for real with some reputed members of the forum, showing them your work by doing it on time. Be natural and let others trust you themselves, don't ask for it.

2095  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to make a wallet? on: November 02, 2017, 02:31:53 PM
As what i have read in this forum that reward is thru by a wallet and my question is i have not yet a wallet so how to make?

Go to https://bitcoin.org/en/download to download the latest version of Bitcoin Core: 0.15.0.1
Visit here to download the complete blockchain (147 GB) and then open the wallet, it will be created automatically with an address inside it.
You can also use light versions like MultiBit or Electrum (where you can also import the private key/s of your core wallet) and/or online wallet like Blockchain needs nothing much but a registration for security purposes and you will still get your wallet created and ready for use.
2096  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Increase my BTC value on: November 02, 2017, 02:17:37 PM
Your Bitcoins' value remains the same always in Bitcoins but it turns out to fluctuate in fiat because of the fluctuations in Bitcoin's value so no need to worry about it. If you are seeing less than what you expected, it might be because you could have suffered loss in some altcoin and/or you are holding an altcoin which is under loss and the amount of BTC that you are getting out of it currently is worth the value that you showed us.
2097  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC analysis for this month! on: November 02, 2017, 07:56:18 AM
earlier this month was so good for bitcoin development. rising bitcoin prices today are proof that bitcoin prices are so good this month. well, I think that bitcoin price will rise again this month.

It's not rising because of the development alone as the fee structure still needs to be reassessed and they need to think about it once again that once Bitcoin rises to 10k levels, how will they manage to curb the fees that may go absurd for all of us. I am not in favor or S2X or any other altcoins but I think that the forks are the reason why Bitcoin is gaining too much attention in the media as well as celebrities and some big names joining Bitcoins and even a few countries talking and a few already legalizing the existence of Bitcoins. I saw a news recently where they said that Amazon has bought 3 cryptocurrency domains, so I think that there's much more to come.
2098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If people stop buying bitcoin on: November 02, 2017, 07:37:41 AM
What will happen if people just stop buying bitcoin? Will bitcoin be as usable as now Or will it be a step towards the end?

How will the market value react to it, people wanting to sell bitcoin but there is no one to buy.

The value you are talking about must be 8 decimals and we still hold a value where fee is reduced back to where it was.
Selling still is not a problem and I think that after the rise comes (as expected), we will surely see some better adjustments to the fee structure as well as transactions sizes accordingly with the demand being taken into consideration. Don't worry, because this has gone global and I don't see any reason as to why anyone would stop using something, they know that could give them greater returns in near future. Bitcoin is not going anywhere, at least not for a few decades.
2099  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you make money if bitcoin/altcoin prices keep falling? on: November 02, 2017, 05:20:30 AM
I don't know much about stocks but i know that in stocks if you think certain stocks will fall, you can short them and make money.  However with bitcoin/altcoin, can you short or is that not possible?  Also isn't it true shorting is very dangerous because you can lose a lot more shorting than investing in bitcoin/altcoin?

Shorting is possible but on certain pairs only that are available in the margin trading section of Poloniex. Don't know much about other exchanges whether they allow shorting or not. I have always witnessed that both (bitcoins and altcoins) never fall altogether, but it goes like either Bitcoin or alts.

Quote
I know when prices drop, that is when you want to buy because you want to buy low and sell high.  So what would be the strategy if bitcoin/altcoin stays the same or keeps dropping etc?  Thus its all red and stays that way?  Of course you could buy... then wait till it goes back up and sell to make profit.  But you don't know how long that would that or it could possibly not and keep going down etc.  I understand that if you want to daytrade, well you buy it at certain price then sell at certain price to lock in profit.  Thus if prices go higher and you bought earlier, you will make profit if you sell.  But besides buying the coin at low prices, you aren't making any money at the moment.

My strategy never allows me to get into altcoins unless Bitcoin's rally stops somewhere. You will never see any altcoins go up, you know why?
Because even if they are depreciating in terms of Bitcoin value, they are still appreciating or remain stable in fiat values.
My tip: Never trade (especially day-trade) when market of Bitcoin is booming because there are just random pumps that take place in altcoins and others just get dumped.

Quote
So what do daytraders do then?  Thus daytraders are on the computer looking at the markets all the time etc.  So if everything keeps going down, how do they make money?  If prices keep dropping for a long time, then there is no money to be made right?  Or is there?  Because what do daytraders do if the market prices keep going down etc?  Sure you can buy a lot of coins at cheap prices but you don't know how long it would take to go back up etc.

I never daytrade, but I believe that doing it at such times could lead to some exceptional losses and you should never follow any tips and/or bot signals during this period as I have also seen some very undervalued coins falling back to worst for no reasons but just due to bitcoin rally. The simple fact, when Bitcoin goes stable or starts correcting towards down, alts start to catch up the momentum and vice versa.
2100  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC analysis for this month! on: November 02, 2017, 04:55:22 AM
UPDATE: Being very close to our projected value, i.e.; 7500, I would like to congratulate everyone of you once again for being a part of the world most expensive currency of all time. Hold on your breath because we are yet to accomplish our target, but I believe that if this gets broken before the end of November, 10k will become a 100% possibility in 2017 itself. Let's just wait for the hard fork and remember, don't sell currently as I have seen exchanges trying to manipulate the values so hard that the margins have gone way above 200 - 300 USD. It's not the correct time to get what we want, let all of this stabilize and margin be lowered.
