2081  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Porez na bitcoin i kriptovalute 2018-2019 on: December 27, 2021, 10:47:32 AM

Transfer rumours:

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City target Dusan Vlahovic could price himself out of a January move because the 21-year-old Fiorentina striker wants Ł200,000 a week. Vlahovic is a very young and talented footballer but he seems to have overestimated himself. What do you think?
Despite numerous rumours about Newcastle's January plans, head coach Eddie Howe says the side must be "realistic" about its options in the transfer window. Does that mean Newcastle is giving up on big plans to bring in a lot of new and promising footballers in the January transfer window? How this will affect their results?
Liverpool are interested in West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen, 25, and Leeds' Brazilian winger Raphinha, 25. Which of them has a better chance of coming to LIverpool?
After spending Ł150m in the summer, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will be investing more in the January transfer window. Arsenal seem to have big plans again. The real question is which of the new players they will bring in January?

Current tennis news:
''Australian Open organisers are still unsure if defending men's champion Novak Djokovic will play at next month's Grand Slam.''
"If Novak shows up, he'll be vaccinated or have a medical exemption," said tournament director Craig Tiley.''
''Tiley said "a small percentage" of unvaccinated players and staff would be granted medical exemptions. He said he was not aware of any players informing organisers they had an exemption.''
Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/59745818

It seems to me that everything is going according to the expected scenario that Djokovic will still perform in Australia based on a medical exception.  What do you think?

''Andy Murray has been given a wildcard for the main draw of the Australian Open in January.
The 34-year-old Briton missed the 2021 tournament after he was not allowed to travel to Melbourne following a positive test for coronavirus.

Tournament director Craig Tiley added: "Andy is renowned for his fighting spirit, passion and love of the game and I'm delighted to welcome him back to Melbourne in January."

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/59770652

I believe that many sincere tennis fans will welcome this decision and the opportunity to watch his performance in Australia once again.

@Daniel91 in short isn’t Novak getting special privilege?, and doesn’t that sent out a wrong message to other player’s, because they’ll use his example to avoid the vax and continue playing in upcoming tournaments.

Furthermore I doubt that Andy will be able to do something special in this tournament, hence I’ll only watch him play for fun but won’t have any expectations for his victory.

I agree with you, it is obvious that new rules and exceptions are being invented solely to allow one tennis player, Djokovic, to play in Australia.
The real question, which no one has asked so far is the following:
If it was any other, less important tennis player, would such exceptions to the strict Covid rules be made for him or her?
I think everyone knows the answer to this question and that is why the Australian Tennis Federation has lost all credibility.
One can even speak openly about nepotism and corruption in tennis because of this case, and the wrong message is being sent to other tennis players, who respect the Covid rules and have been vaccinated.
2084  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Introduce someone to Bitcoin, the best gift for this season on: December 26, 2021, 11:22:28 AM
Give Bitcoin as a Christmas gift if you are short on time. Bitcoin is perfect for last-minute Christmas gifts.
In the case that your contact does not have a Bitcoin wallet and does not have an address to which you can send bitcoins, the easiest way is to generate it for them and write a seed phrase on paper or in a Christmas card. Even though it is generally not a good idea to trust someone else with creating your wallet, in this case it doesn't matter since you are the one giving the wallet as a gift. To do this, you may need to write down the steps required to access the Bitcoin wallet.

I agree that this is a great idea, but I don't think it's enough to just give someone a bitcoin and create a wallet.
That friend needs to be taught how crypto works and also explain the importance of patience and waiting.
If he hears that the price of bitcoin has dropped and he sell everything in a panic, then we haven't really helped him much and he will probably never return to the crypto world.
In fact, I don't think this kind of gift is for everyone.
2085  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Porez na bitcoin i kriptovalute 2018-2019 on: December 26, 2021, 11:07:41 AM
Koliku on praktičnu, upotrebnu vrijednost ima?

Transfer rumours:

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will save the money from the sale of 21-year-old Spain forward Ferran Torres, who is set to join Barcelona in a deal worth up to Ł55m, to help finance a summer move for Borussia Dortmund and Norway striker Erling Braut Haaland, 21. This seems like a very good plan for Manchester City but will it work?
France winger Ousmane Dembele, 24, has agreed to a new five-year contract with Barcelona, on reduced terms, and will sign the deal next week. So Dembele has agreed to a lower salary and remains at the club with serious organizational and financial problems. Is this a good or bad decision?
Six Championship clubs - Bournemouth, Fulham, Huddersfield Town, Nottingham Forest, Stoke City and West Brom - have contacted Aston Villa about signing 23-year-old English striker Keinan Davis in January. A lot of clubs want Keinan Davis but who will manage to bring him?  Cheesy
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe says he will not let any of his fringe players, including English striker Dwight Gayle, 32, and Republic of Ireland midfielder Jeff Hendrick, 29, leave on loan in January because of his side's small squad. A reasonable and expected decision, but which players the club will eventually manage to bring?

I believe that many sincere tennis fans will welcome this decision and the opportunity to watch his performance in Australia once again.

As for Peng Shuai, she actually suffered great and irreparable damage and her tennis career is probably ruined, during which she was the best tennis player in the world in doubles.
Obviously, the Chinese state has sided with the abuser and not the victim, and that is a message for other women in Chinese society.
The message is that if a powerful person rapes you, you better keep quiet and obey, or the state will force you to remain silent and punish you if necessary.
I feel sorry for that woman who was a very good tennis player and now her life has completely changed, and everyone will remember her for this case and not for her great tennis career.
Given all that has happened, the question is whether she will ever be able to return to a normal life and continue her successful tennis career.
2089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa Conference League Discussion Thread on: December 25, 2021, 11:25:46 AM
This is good news for Tottenham, the Conference League does not provide much financial benefit and a successful fight for a place in the TOP - 4 is much more important in this situation. Plus, Spurs will have a very difficult game schedule after three postponed matches.

I can understand, but I think it's never okay for a team to simply ignore a competition. If you accept to participate in it, you should try to go as far as possible. Furthermore, this theory of being a proof of little value is of little value until you win.

This is a new competition, we cannot expect that the first year will be a super important event. Now, all clubs must value it if they participate in it.

I don't think Tottenheim want that either, the squad is good enough for premier league and conference league. We are not talking about the champions league where a team is challenged much more. But Tottenheim seem to have appealed again, but when are they going to make up the game? The Premier League calendar is very tight. From an Austrian point of view, it's good for Rapid.

According to this news, it seems that Tottenham are more worried about the lost earnings due to expulsion from this competition than the administrative decision of UEFA to prevent them from further participation in this competition:

Tottenham consider legal route after being thrown out of Europe over forfeited Covid-hit Rennes match
Spurs not planning to appeal Uefa decision to give Rennes 3-0 win - in turn eliminating them - but may seek advice on potential lost revenue

Source: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/12/20/tottenham-thrown-europe-uefa-decide-covid-hit-rennes-game-should/

In fact, this is to be expected. English clubs have a very busy schedule in the English Championship and let's be honest, the UEFA Europa Conference League is not a very attractive competition, especially when compared to the Champions League.
It seems to me that Tottenham would be happiest if this story was forgotten as soon as possible, and that UEFA give them some monetary compensation for lost revenue.
After all, it all comes down to money, right?  Grin
2090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: December 25, 2021, 10:21:58 AM
I have a different view, when you say PSG v Madrid match there will probably be a lot of goals scored but to me it doesn't look like it will happen. I personally expect the match to be tough so both of them might be deadlocked to score goals but yeah, I think everyone has their own version of how many goals it can be said to be a lot of goals. Because if it's just two goals though for both teams, surely it's a meager amount of goals even though both teams are to score.

This game - PSG vs Real Madrid - is one of those games where you can see a lot of goals or a few goals. If the teams are extremely organized and manage to cancel each other out, then we will have few goals. If the teams play very open, both focused on attacking, we can see several goals from both teams. It can also happen that a team starts to stand out right at the beginning of the game and score early, and then the other team, wanting to recover, end up suffering more goals.

I think it will be very important when the first goal will be scored and who will score it.
PSG has a problem with three superstars, Neymar, Mbappe and Messi, who do not like to play defense and do not help enough in defense during the match.
In matches against weaker teams in the French championship it is not so important and PSG wins on the basis of individual quality, but because of that PSG has serious problems in matches against top teams, such as Manchester City in the Champions League group.
Because of this I think that Real has a better chance of winning their match, because Real plays more as a team.

Sretan Božić i Sretna Nova Godina!

A možda to i DarkStar riješi bez previše buke i galame, i sam nađe prikladnog kandidata i pošalje mu poruku

^^ I don't think that China will give in to these pressures from WTA and the whole tennis organizations. There are even reports that Peng Shuai has disappeared or at least not seen in public after her revelation. And we all know how authoritative the government are, so I doubt it will have an effect on them in my opinion. Meaning, they won't do any investigations and the accused might go free because he is a high ranking government official now.

I believed otherwise, that authoritarian regime will have to give in the pressures one time or another. Specially if it involves high ranking officials? for sure they are going to look at that case. Maybe they are right now that's why they remain quiet. It might takes months or years though, so I'm expecting that maybe next year we are going to hear about this case.

I wouldn't agree with you.
First of all, this case is completely covered up in China and is not mentioned in public at all.
Even any trace of this news has been deleted on the Internet.
After announcing this news that she was raped, the Chinese tennis player disappeared from the public, and the news was deleted within a few hours.
Only after great international pressure, and the threat of international sports organizations to cancel sports competitions in China, the Chinese tennis player finally appeared in public but there is still a suspicion that she is free to do or say what she wants.
Many people make the mistake of assuming that Western democratic standards apply in China as well.
In fact, there is no real freedom in China and the Chinese Communist Party decides everything.
From their point of view, the Chinese tennis player has damaged the country's reputation and must be punished for that.
Even the cancellation of tennis tournaments in China will not change anything in such Chinese politics, where the interests of the nation are always more important than the interests of the individual.
Peng Shuai has accused a member of the Chinese party leadership of raping her, damaging the country's reputation and I personally do not believe she will ever be able to leave the country or play tennis again.

I think that Croatia would end the group stage at the third place. Because France seem to be most likely to promote to the playoffs. And Denmark have been one of the attention getting teams lately by their huge performance in each of their last matches. And we remember how great they were in the Euro 2020 also. They seem to be stronger than Croatia now.

Well - that is possible too, Denmark is a really well organized team with a few quality players. What I said is that from that pot Denmark is by far the best team we could have drawn and that them and Austria are the teams I would have picked for ourselves.

They are really strong defensively but don't have any offensive players that we should be afraid of - they have some quality youngsters breaking through (Daramy, Wind, Lindstrom) but offensively Croatia is far superior. I think we are still the better team but it would not surprise me if Denmark finished in front of us - the margins between our teams are small.

I feel you’re right about Croatia ending in the third place, and they’ll only have themselves to blame for performing poorly in their fixtures. Furthermore Denmark has put in some fine performances, and they can surely go ahead and it’ll be foolish to underestimate them given how well they have performed so far.

But still wouldn't you agree that the UEFA Nations League is a totally different competition compared to the World Cup? Whenever I watched the Nations League, it never felt like the teams would put as much effort into those games as they do when it is the European Championship or World Cup. It might me quite a bit different when Denmark plays in the Nations League.

Exactly. Most of the teams, the stronger ones do not give their 100% in such games and I don't know why is that. This format I like it,you move from one tier to an upper tier if you are the winner of your tier until we reach the finals. The problem with this league is that it started just a bit before the pandemic and we haven't seen much of it.Hopefully this will change in this upcoming Nations League.

I would not really say that the national teams are not interested in this competition and that they are not trying hard enough.
After all, through this competition, teams can fight to participate in the European Championship, as far as I remember, so there is certainly enough sports motivation.
I think the problem is that this is a completely new competition, without tradition, to which fans and players are not yet accustomed enough.
In terms of importance, this competition is certainly behind the European and World Championships.
In the end, the players are already exhausted and tired due to numerous perfomances at club competitions, plus representative matches for the European and World Cups, and find it difficult to motivate themselves for another additional competition that was invented solely for UEFA earnings.

The big tennis scandal with Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai and her accusations that a prominent Chinese politician raped her still seems to be unresolved.

''Chinese tennis star Peng Shuai has denied making an accusation of sexual assault, in her first media interview since alleging a top Chinese leader had coerced her to have sex.''
''In her original note, which was posted on the Chinese social media platform Weibo in November, she accused former Vice-Premier Zhang Gaoli of forcing her to have sex with him.''
''"We remain steadfast in our call for a full, fair and transparent investigation… into her allegation of sexual assault, which is the issue that gave rise to our initial concern," the WTA said.''
''The WTA has suspended all of its tournaments in China over the issue, putting pressure on the IOC and other sporting groups to take similar actions. They have declined to do so.''

This has already become a great tennis story involving sports, politics and the whole country.
Will the real truth ever be found out and what will happen to this tennis player?
Because of this affair, the WTA has already punished China and suspended all tennis tournaments in China.
Many tennis players like Djokovic, Serena and others gave their support to Peng Shuai and asked for the truth to be established.
What do you think?

This season is one of those times when Real Madrid has everything to make a great Champions League. The La Liga championship is fully controlled, with no opponents at the height. In this way they can dedicate themselves almost 100% to the Champions League.

The Spanish championship is a very difficult and long competition and I don't think Real can relax too much and think that everything is under control.
After all, Sevilla are very close to Real and it seems that they will be the main competitors for the title.
As for the Champions League, I personally don’t think Real is the main favorite to win this competition.
I give Manchester City, Bayern, Liverpool and PSG more chances.
