Some interesting tennis news:

''Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz will become the youngest player in the top five of the ATP rankings since Rafael Nadal in 2005 after reaching the Hamburg Open final.''
Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/62280435

Nadal is already close to tennis retirement, but the more I watch Alcaraz, the more I feel I'm watching Nadal's successor. Of course, it is very difficult to say whether Alcaraz will achieve the kind of results that Nadal has, and play for so long at the top level, but he definitely has the talent and potential to do great things in tennis.

''Novak Djokovic is unlikely to play at the US Open after organisers said they would "respect" American government rules over travel for unvaccinated players.''
Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/62248745

So, it seems that Djokovic, if he doesn't change his mind about the vaccination, will only be able to play 2 Grand Slams a year in the next few years and thus probably miss the opportunity to become the greatest tennis player of all time, based on the number of Grand Slam titles won.

''Former world number one Venus Williams will make her singles comeback after being awarded a wildcard for next month's WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto.''

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/62244577

At the age of 42, Venus is still not giving up on tennis tournaments, just like her sister Serena  Cheesy

GNK Dinamo Zagreb (-2/-2.5) @1.60  X

Dinamo Zagreb has already played a number of matches this season, including a win over Hajduk in the Croatian Super Cup and a comeback win against Loko Zagreb over the weekend, as well as a few friendlies...they have scored three goals in three of those four matches. Shkupi almost blew a 3-0 lead against a very weak opponent from Gibraltar in the previous round. I'll be shocked if they don't concede three or more goals today. According to transfermarkt, Dinamo's squad is worth more than €100mln, while the team from North Macedonia is worth roughly €6 mln...

It proved once again how difficult it is to predict football results, isn't it?
When comparing the qualities of both teams, reputation and experience, then it seemed that Dinamo would have a very easy job with Shkupi, but a big surprise happened at the end.
Dinamo definitely did not enter this season well, they struggled also in the first match of the Croatian championship against Lokomotiva and obviously they have not yet reached the desired level of play.
This is probably normal considering the large number of new players and few games played.
In the return match in Macedonia, I think that Dinamo expects a very difficult match, but Dinamo is a big favorite because of the team's quality and experience.
1343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: July 24, 2022, 10:51:19 AM
Personally, I think that VAR technology has brought more benefits than harm to football. Of course, VAR is only technology, and a person must analyze and interpret the information received and make a final decision, given that it is impossible to predict all situations in football. Football players work very hard to achieve success in football, they wait 4 years for the world championship and it is really not fair that one wrong decision of the referee takes away their right to success. Football is an increasingly fast game, sometimes millimeters or fractions of a second are decisive, and it is very difficult for the referee to see everything accurately and make the right decision at a moment's notice.
In the history of football, we have a lot of controversial decisions. If VAR technology had existed in 1966, England would probably never have been world champions in football. This is a situation that is still being talked about today, more than half a century later.
Since you are talking about the VAR, I find it useful but quite annoying and it made waste of time even worse in football.. Many rules should be changed to make it better.
The main referee shouldn't stop the game and watch the reply over and over, it is up to the referees in the room or he should stop the timer just like handball and basketball and do whatever he wants, preferably without taking much time.
Imagine if we have many ambiguous situations in World Cup games and like 5-6 VAR in a match, this will literally kill the fun and make it a very bad game.

A lot of people are talking about the problems that can be caused by the introduction of technology, VAR. Obviously, this will be a massive improvement for football. It is actually really comforting to know that there are not going to be many wrong decisions taken at all. We have seen how wrong decisions can affect a match. But refs are humans too. And to err is human. Technology is the way to fix these problems. We have seen a lot of controversial decisions taken in football, including a goal scored with a hand, literally. So it would be really encouraging to see teams treated with justice.

I agree that it would not be good if technology is used too much in football, and that because of the watching videos of controversial situations referee stops the game too often.
The right balance needs to be found between the requirement for non-interruption of the game and the checking of possible serious mistakes by the referees that directly affect the result of the match.
After all, don't we have a cooling break lately, when the matches are played in high heat and in difficult conditions, so that the players can refresh themselves and rest?
Personally, I think that the staff in the VAR rooms should not react to every suspicious situation in the match, but only when there is a high probability that a serious refereeing error has occurred that directly affects the result.
1344  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: July 24, 2022, 10:43:00 AM
I think Brazil has had the best team on paper at every World Cup since 1990. However, they haven't had much success lately. Neymar will also be hungry for a world championship. This year they are again the big favorites. All their players all play for major European top clubs. But France is about as good as Brazil. The 2014 World Cup was a big blow for Brazil, and in 2018 they lost to Belgium. This year I think it will be between France and Brazil. But the question is whether Brazil has a good team collective, the French usually have more and the English too. Belgium has become less strong.
Brazil 🇧🇷 is known for their excellent record in the world Cup and also known for producing bunch of decent players in every world Cup. Their pattern of play which is Samba football is also seen in players like Neymar and Vinicius Jr where they like to go solo and penetrate the defence. It is also wise you mentioned France, I strongly route for France over Brazil in this world Cup.
Whenever I remember France attacks, I am always shocked and imaginative of what they will perform in the world Cup.

Think of;
Benzema,
Mbappe,
Greizemann,
Coman,
Nkunku,
The likes of;
Diaby,
Martial,
Dembele
Giroud
Are still available. Let's watch out

According to its results at the world championships, Brazil is definitely the best national team of all time, and according to his performance at the world championships, Pele is also the best player of the world championships of all time.
However, Brazil has not been a world champion for 20 years and there is clearly something missing for this generation of Brazilian footballers to win a world title.
As for France, they have been very poor in the last two competitions, the European Championship and the Nations League, and it is obvious that there are some problems in their squad.
It can be said that France has great individuals, but a weaker team lately, with a lot of problems in the game.
It seems that the main problem is the mutual relations between the players in the team, but if they will be fully ready in Qatar, they will again be the main favorites for the title.
1345  Other / Meta / Re: A proposal to "hush" other users on: July 24, 2022, 10:33:06 AM
Ignoring low quality posters, but did you think merit sources should also ignore users?
Most definitely! Being a Merit source is a volunteer position, I don't get paid to do it, and I don't want to spend extra time reading shitposts. If I see a shitpost on the tech boards, I like to make sure I never Merit that user.

In fact, when I come to the forum, I already know most of the users and I read posts from those members who inspire me with their posts, and I don't expect too much from newbie members anyway.
However, when I accidentally read a bad post, I don't use the ignore button because I believe that every new member can eventually become a good member, through the acquisition of experience and knowledge over time.
If a bad member eventually becomes a good member and starts writing quality posts, and I put him on the ignore list in the beginning, that means I won't be able to see his good posts later and reward him with merits.
Of course, a lot depends on the motivation of the new members, whether they are here solely for the possibility of earning or to learn something, but that quickly becomes obvious.
I'm not on the forum often, so I don't worry too much about whether I'll see a lot of shitposts or not. I simply skip bad posts and forget about it, and reward good ones with merit.
1346  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why Bitcoin still remains the leading cryptocurrency in the world. on: July 24, 2022, 07:56:56 AM
If we talk about what the OP writes, then for an ignorant person, of course, Bitcoin will be presented as a mysterious coin.
However, to stop being afraid and begin to understand Bitcoin, you need to start using it. The creation of bitcoin did not have any bad intentions; on the contrary, it was invented for convenience, as well as for personal ownership of one's finances without interference from other parties. Just take the time to take the blinders off your eyes and start experiencing bitcoin.

I agree with you, but unfortunately a lot of people believe the media and skeptics with negative views about crypto.
Most of my friends, to whom I tried to introduce bitcoin, reacted very negatively and skeptically, based on what they heard from someone else or read somewhere.
Their thinking is that bitcoin is something very risky, or something mostly used by criminals for illegal activities.
That's why I understand the OP and his question.
In my country, the application of bitcoin is slowly expanding in everyday life, from the possibility of buying and selling at post offices to the possibility of using it to buy daily necessities.
In this way, I believe that over time more and more people will understand the value of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies and that such questions and doubts will be less and less.
1347  Other / Off-topic / Re: My View on Brand-Newbies to Legendary Members in the Forum on: July 24, 2022, 07:48:39 AM
OP, I'm not really sure that this forum can be compared to an educational institution and that a higher rank always means more knowledge and experience.
I personally know one owner of a crypto company, who just recently registered on this forum and is still a newbie member, but he has more knowledge and experience in the crypto industry than most legenday members on this forum.
Forum rank only shows the moment someone joined this forum and nothing more, especially for members who joined before the introduction of the merit system.
One's level of crypto knowledge does not depend on seniority on this forum but on one's own learning and investment.

Transfer rumours:

Chelsea have beaten off competition from Barcelona to sign Sevilla and France centre-back Jules Kounde and will offer the 23-year-old a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge. So another great deal for Chelsea and another failure for Barcelona.
Liverpool enquired about Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder Jude Bellingham in June but the German club consider the 19-year-old untouchable this summer.  Obviously, after Haaland's departure, Borussia Dortmund did not want to lose another great footballer, and Liverpool will obviously have to be patient a little longer.
Barcelona and Netherlands forward Memphis Depay, 28, is likely to turn down a move to Newcastle. Does this mean that Depay will stay in Barcelona after all?
AC Milan have joined Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona in the race to sign 18-year-old Aston Villa and England Under-19 attacking midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka. Chukwuemekai is in high demand, many clubs want him, and what will he decide in the end?

''Novak Djokovic will be joining Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Andy Murray to play for Team Europe in the Laver Cup.''
''The event, which pits six European players against six from Team World over three days, will take place in London between 23 and 25 September.''
''"It's the only [event] where you play in a team with guys you're normally competing against," said Djokovic.
"To be joining Rafa, Roger and Andy - three of my biggest all-time rivals - it's going to be a truly unique moment in the history of our sport."

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/62262153

As Djokovic said, it will be really very interesting to watch the joint team performance of the greatest tennis players in history.
Recently, especially after some statements before the GS in Australia, it seemed that Nadal and Djokovic are no longer on good terms, but they will still play together in the European team.
This will really be a special opportunity to watch them perform together, for the same team, and enjoy great tennis again even though the competition itself is not so important.
Does this mean that Nadal and Djokovic have reconciled?  Grin
1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: July 23, 2022, 11:31:15 AM
~snip~

~snip~

England played solidly from the match statistics I think England can go through the preliminary round smoothly but I doubt England can qualify for the semifinals.

France are not showing their best form but they are a solid team and have an above average quality striker. overall we will never know what will happen later after the tournament runs. only a few months left for the tournament to be held I can't wait to celebrate it.

England have a really solid lineup actually. They have one of the best lineups in the World Cup. However their problem has been consistency so far. My expectation from them is going to be to fix this in the World Cup. If they still have issues about this then it would be difficult for them to make it to the finale. When it comes to France they are one of the absolute favourites for the title. Right after Brazil they are the second biggest favoured team for this. As long as they have a strong game plan I don't see any reason for them not to be in the finale.

England have been very good in the last two major competitions, the World Cup and the European Championship and they played in the semi-finals and the final.
This world championship will show whether they are ready for the last step and attack for the title or not.
France played very badly in the last European Championship and in League of Nations and there are obvious problems between the players in the team.
If they do not solve these problems, they will not be favorites in Qatar.
Brazil is the favorite in every world championship, but they always lack something to go all the way and become world champions.
1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: July 23, 2022, 11:12:15 AM
The VAR will certainly be used at the world championship in Qatar. The VAR should be a great added value, but there too it is the interpretation of how a referee and his assistant view a situation. You don't always have written rules for situations, even with a penalty for example. 50% of the VAR would give him and 50% would not. Honesty and accuracy is not guaranteed with the VAR and that is the main problem.
Despite everything, I think that the VAR will have a great added value at the World Cup.

Personally, I think that VAR technology has brought more benefits than harm to football.
Of course, VAR is only technology, and a person must analyze and interpret the information received and make a final decision, given that it is impossible to predict all situations in football.

1353  Other / Meta / Re: Merit source observations on: July 23, 2022, 10:58:34 AM
I do get the animosity towards those that appear to be merit fishing, Although, their motivation is there, their application isn't necessarily so. I think getting the pitch fork out, is probably a bad idea, since these types of users can easily adjust, and become valuable users of the forum. There's been many of times where a user has annoyed me a little at first with their posting habits, but years down the line have actually become some of the more prominent users of the forum.

So, while merit fishing should probably be pointed out, I don't think it's a death sentence for a user. They just need to change their thinking a little bit. At the end of the day, if they're posting simply to earn merit, as long as the information is useful, and isn't regurgitated, then I haven't got a problem with their motivations that led to the post, as long as it's of good quality.

I totally agree with you.
None of us (or at least the vast majority) were big experts at the beginning of our crypto journey and as new members on this forum we wrote posts of lower quality, and that's normal.
It's important that the new member feels accepted and welcome on this forum, and that we give him the opportunity to gain some knowledge and experience.
Of course, many new members, as soon as they understand the value of rank and merit on the forum, will do their best to gain merits as soon as possible and advance on the forum.
Some members will earn merits more easily, while other members will have a harder time, but as long as they don't spam the forum, they should be supported and not criticized too much.
1354  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Motivation For New Buddies | Mention Yours on: July 23, 2022, 10:44:52 AM
Newcomers not only motivated how to rank up, but they should also learn first how forum works and the next blockchain technology especially in Bitcoin.
If you've learned all of these, merit isn't a barrier for you to rank up and it will unknowingly come to you.

Thought of the day: It's not all about merits on the forum.
I tend to agree with this, the forum isn't about merit, sometimes we figure out how useful to us that forum sharpens our mind to be knowledgeable in crypto.

I can definitely agree with this.
This forum is a community of crypto enthusiasts, a place for free discussion, seeking answers to various questions, presenting new crypto projects etc.
On this forum you can meet people from your local communities, and even meet in person, which was also my personal experience, one of the best in my life.
I think that for new members, the main motivation for registering on this forum should be to learn something, meet members of their local crypto community, and with more knowledge and experience later participate in some paid crypto projects on this forum.
Unfortunately, I am aware that for most new members this is not a motivation and I don't think there is much we can do to change that.

Evo novosti o Celsiusu.

Transfer rumours:

Atletico Madrid have contacted Cristiano Ronaldo's representatives over signing the Portugal forward, 37, from Manchester United. Will Ronaldo really play for Atletico Madrid? How will Real fans react to this?
New Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag says Ronaldo could stay at Old Trafford beyond the year he has left on his contract. How realistic is it for Ronaldo to stay in Manchester? He obviously decided to do everything to leave the club.
Netherlands defender Matthijs de Ligt, 22, has arrived in Germany to complete his move from Juventus to Bayern Munich after the clubs agreed a fee of 70m euros (Ł59m), plus 10m euros (Ł8m) in add-ons. Bayern did a great job this summer and brought several top players to the team.
Barcelona are refusing to commit to paying Netherlands midfielder Frenkie de Jong the 17m euros (Ł14m) from his restructured contract, delaying the 25-year-old's potential move to Manchester United. When will this Frenkie de Jong saga finally end? The club doesn't want him and he doesn't want to leave  Grin
Argentina striker Paulo Dybala, 28, has agreed to join Roma on a reduced salary compared to what Napoli would have offered. He is a free agent after leaving Juventus. I thought Dybala would stay at Juve.

Qatar might still surprise people. They are eagerly looking forward to this final tournament and also have all the support. And all African countries are of course also used to having to play football in these circumstances. Something European footballers are not used to. And it's also the middle of Europe's winter. If you play in England, for example, you have a chance that you were still in the snow 2 weeks before. Those are all factors that come into play. We can expect the Netherlands to have the weakest green, but it would be nice if Qatar goes to the next round.

What do you mean by surprise people? Get surprisingly good results and advance to next round? I don't think that's possible at all. They will just finish the group in last place and if they get a draw they are lucky. My expectation for them is to get exact zero points.
Some African teams are really good and if we see some of them in next stages I wouldn't be surprised. We saw Cameroon, Nigeria, Senegal in previous tournaments do good things. I wouldn't expect any other club than European and South American to be in semi finals though. That's the stage things are going hotter and big teams don't do easy mistakes at that point.
First of all Qatar getting a single point in the group would be a huge surprise and a huge success for them. They are in that level... Secondly, I still cannot believe we are having a world cup in the middle of summer. As it is written above, the weather situation for the countries are unacceptable in my opinion. Ok world should revolve around the western hemisphere, but come on, a world cup in the winter in a desert country? That is just not right.

Also I respect african teams but they cannot advance to semi finals just because there is a weather advantage. Even this conversation is utterly disappointing for me. We shouldn't even talking about this. We should have had a good old nice world cup by now. Not the winter stuff...

I agree that it will be very difficult for Qatar to win first or second place in the group, because Netherlands and Senegal are much better teams than them.
As for holding the World Cup in Qatar at such an unusual time, and in a country without a great football tradition, I think that it's a question of FIFA being an organization whose first priority is profit and the spread of influence, not just competition.
Even the decision for Qatar to host the World Cup was suspected due to possible corruption, but this was never proven, although suspicions remained.
I agree with you, the African national teams are very talented and have great players like Salah or Mane, but they clearly lack the discipline in the game and the tactical maturity to be able to achieve better results and play in the semi-finals or finals.

we all know argentina is one of the favorite teams in the qatar world cup, this prestigious cup event every four years is the last competition for messi, argentina will do their best and target the world champion under captain messi, argentina squad is currently the best compared to some  last year, argentina were conmebol championship finalists if only to qualify from the round of 16 i think argentina will not go through much trouble. I believe Argentina will enter the final in the Qatar World Cup.
Last year Argentina won the Copa America after a 28 year wait playing the finals against Brazil. It also served as the first international for Messi. This is considered as the path for the winning of FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Same time there is criticism around, that a single player alone can't take the team towards success. The support to Argentina is much on Messi. Throughout the qualifier Argentina stays undefeated, so more positive things have happened recently. Let's wait for few more months.

I think it will be very difficult for Argentina to win the world championship title, but of course they have a chance.
Messi and his teammates were considered losers after losing 2 South American Championship finals and the 2014 World Cup final.
Especially great pressure was on Messi because everyone compared him to Maradona and it was believed that Messi can't be a better player than Maradona until he brings the world title to Argentina, as Maradona did in 1986.
It was obvious how difficult it was for Messi to play under such pressure and he even considered quitting playing for the national team.
Nevertheless, Messi ended up staying in the national team and finally brought the first title to Argentina at the last South American championship.
It's obvious that this world championship will be the last for Messi and his last chance to bring his country the title of world champion.
It will be a very difficult mission for Messi because Argentina is still not the main favorite in this World Cup, but Messi is a great player and with him every team has a chance to win.
Personally, I consider Brazil and France to be the main favorites, but this World Cup will be very uncertain and anything is possible.
