tẁΈńtĩώãn VS  South Park Q/Cows Reloaded

Match of the week, Two Dark Horses with great lineups on the road to the playoffs clashing.
This is basically a playoff game already, we are both on the hunt and the winner will position themselves as the main candidate to try to snatch one playoff spot out of the 4 top teams, and whoever losses will most likely be out, as even if the loser of this game could win the 3 remaining games there is no guarantee that will be enough to get to the playoffs.

Which is bad news for me as I do not think Fields will play due to his injury and I will need to play Brady this week.

I was thinking about this. How many regular season games does each of us need to be assured a playoff slot? A quick look on the present situation of our league's standings, it might be 10 wins? Top 4 is very close together, however, 5th place is where it begins to have some distance in between.

@draftapes. Can we not see who the other teams' players are when the games have started? I reckon there should be more transparency on this or the players might begin to doubt the trustworthiness of the site and accuse the site of playing against their own users and cheating. How can we verify that the other teams have really gotten their points?

My suggestion would be make the teams transparent after the games have begun. We do not want something similar to FTX in this community hehehehe.

Yes, you're right. Thats a super high priority on our list.

What a great community this is Smiley Thank you all so much!
As a young startup, this is extremely helpful.

Can we football fans make a special request to have team transparency implemented first on NFL fantasy tournaments? The regular season is presently on week 12 of 18. This is only 6 game weeks left after this, thank you hehe.

Also, I assume the fantasy tournaments during post season will also have a similar format to the regular season or will the entries become per game?

@BitMaxz. You have contacted support already, you can only presently wait. However, if it has been more than 5 days, you can also go to social media and tell them in public about your issue. Binance support has an account on Twitter. You can use that and pressure them there. Many of their users also do this and it appears to work hehehe.

Starling Bank bans Bitcoin transactions

Don't be funny, how can a bank ban Bitcoin transactions when Bitcoin is decentralized and enables transactions in a way that avoids banks? The bank only introduced a restriction on individual deposits, and that is an amount that I don't think is too problematic for ordinary users, because I doubt that £3000 pounds per month is an amount that the majority exceeds.

Furthermore, you quote a source that claims that even 47% of banks in the UK have similar restrictions, so why would parliament or anyone else intervene in this case?

It appears the title is clickbait. What the article is saying is the Starling bank are presently beginning to ban transactions going in and out of bitcoin services like exchanges. What these traditional financial services are doing is blocking liquidity which might only increase when other banks in other jurisdictions also start doing this. I reckon this might prevent investors from entering the cryptospace for the next bull market and cause the next bull market to be not as powerful.
2088  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis' crypto lending (Genesis Global Capital) halts withdrawals on: November 25, 2022, 01:36:24 AM
You should do your research on her. Cathie Wood is one of the most celebrated hedgefund managers for outperforming the whole traditional market for the last 8 years.

So was Madoff!

However, we have not yet witnessed how investments in disruptive technology might perform during a recession.  I speculate that it might not be very good hehe.

Oh yes, we have already the data:

Quote
While last year was tremendous for the stock market, with the S&P 500 marching 27% higher, the same can't be said for ARK Innovation. Wood's leading ETF lost 24% in 2021, ranking it 1,471st out of a peer group of 1,503 actively-managed equity ETFs in the U.S., by Barron's calculations.
https://www.barrons.com/articles/cathie-wood-ark-innovation-etf-losses-51648812055

Cathie Wood's flagship ARK fund suffers the biggest monthly outflow in nearly a year as performance continues to suffer

Quote
The Ark Invest Disruptive Innovation ETF saw outflows of $820 million in August, just shy of its September 2021 outflow of $939 million, according to data from VettaFi.
But now investors may be growing tired of the consistent underperformance in the once-hot thematic ETF. Since its peak in February 2021, Ark's flagship fund has lost 75%, as a series of aggressive interest rate hikes from the Federal Reserve and elevated inflation concerns put a big dent in longer-duration stocks that are not yet profitable.

And now we know the reason for her aggressive BTC to 1 million calls.
Popcorn time, let's see how much of those previous gains were lies and how much other lies, might add up to 100%, just like Madoff!

Are you telling everyone that all of Ark Invest's exchange traded funds and declared profits from these funds are ponzi schemes and fake profits? Also, Cathie Wood is a scammer very much similar to Bernie Maddoff? I admire skepticsm from this people of the forum, however, the comparison is very wrong and head shaking.

In any case, has anyone found new updates if Barry Silbert and Genesis Global found a debtor to give them a loan of $1 billion?
2089  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: November 24, 2022, 04:20:13 AM
It's very strange how in this Oscar they manage to choose the best actors, most of the time actors that I think are better don't even appear in the Oscars, it's very strange. as for Brendan Fraser, it is definitely a big exaggeration that he is at odds of @1.83 while in my opinion Hugh Jackman is better than him but Hugh Jackman is at odds of @ 9.00, this is something quite exaggerated, it seems that he is a bad actor, i don't understand how these oddsmakers are analyzing actors

Cate Blanchett is a good actress and the oddsmakers are giving her as the favorite, but I prefer Margot Robbie, she is a good actress, in her Suicide Squad movies it was a character that made me laugh, she played the character well in my opinion

The oddsmakers do not list the odds because of who we think are the best actors or actresses are. They list it based on the reviews behind each performances, speculations on who might be favored by voters of different awards organizations and it might also be because the oddsmakers know the politics behind the movie industry. Much of the odds made by them are adjusted when new information begins to circulate, however.
2090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: November 24, 2022, 02:39:41 AM
This has been a tough year for me. My other two leagues I’m doing well in but injuries are stacking up and likely to keep me from the promise land per usual lol. I don’t mind losing, like in this league my team just isn’t that good, but in my other leagues it’s the losing due to injuries (mostly or at least partly) that is brutal.

Losing to Hampz this week surely knocks me out of contentions. Ah well.

I have been presently very lucky this year and also lucky from the beginning when I was first to pick in the draft. Picking Christian McCaffrey instead of Jonathan Taylor helped carry my season. It appears that the advanced data analysis of my computing cluster of 1000 gameboys made the correct calculations including being traded to San Francisco hehehehe.

In any case, there is a new website for fantasy sports for the cryptospace called Draft Apes.

https://www.draftapes.com/

ANN thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5422231.0

But it has a different format where players are required to pick players under a salary cap and the games are played weekly instead of for a whole season.

The development team has much to do, however. I suggested that all teams of the players should be transparent after the games start for everyone to verify if all of the teams have really made the points they have. Presently everything is hidden.
2091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the cryptospace is threatened by this legislation backed by Sam on: November 24, 2022, 01:55:20 AM
Why is Sam Bankrupt-Fried not presently in the custody of the American government? Why he is still welcome to speak in this conference? Also, what will he talk about in this conference? Will it be regulations around the cryptospace or will it be the story behind his $10 billion loss, FTX orgies and the drugs? This is very head scratching.

Is Sam a government agent brought to destroy the cryptospace and give the government reasons to limit it through stricter regulations? I am beginning to speculate on this because clearly his actions were never for the cryptospace. Who is he? Who controls him? Who are his backers?

Sam Bankman-Fried says he'll speak at New York conference

FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, who's mostly kept to making statements on Twitter amid the collapse of the crypto exchange he once ran, said he'd be speaking with New York Times columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin at the Nov. 30 DealBook Summit in New York.

"I’ll be speaking with @andrewrsorkin at the @dealbook summit next Wednesday (11/30)," he wrote on Twitter.

2092  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis' crypto lending (Genesis Global Capital) halts withdrawals on: November 24, 2022, 12:42:47 AM
Cathie Wood hehehee. I am not very confident on her investment decisions since the market began to reverse from bull to bear.

The name doesn't ring a bell. Still, she may not be alone in this, since I see Genesis Capital has "no plans to file bankruptcy imminently" and the bitcoin price seems to be recovering (probably meaning a bit more confidence).

I start thinking that some of the businesses with a little better background may be helped out or bought by those who have money. Pretty much standard operations during recession (and some may have had money prepared exactly because recession was/is at the horizon).

You should do your research on her. Cathie Wood is one of the most celebrated hedgefund managers for outperforming the whole traditional market for the last 8 years. Her hedgefund is Ark Invest which concentrates their investments in disruptive technology including bitcoin. However, we have not yet witnessed how investments in disruptive technology might perform during a recession.  I speculate that it might not be very good hehe.

In any case, agreed and because Genesis is not a ponzi scheme like FTX and Alameda Research, it might be bailed out by someone in the cryptospace.
2093  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis' crypto lending (Genesis Global Capital) halts withdrawals on: November 23, 2022, 04:12:59 AM
@NeuroticFish. Cathie Wood hehehee. I am not very confident on her investment decisions since the market began to reverse from bull to bear. It appears that what some of the wisest men of trading have said is true. Everyone can look like be a genius during a bull market, however, the real geniuses will be seen during a bear market.

The person to watch during a bear market is Michael Burry. Everyone can check his investment decisions through Scion Capital's 13F filings.
2094  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX comedy and might be another exchange that bites the dust? on: November 23, 2022, 03:25:48 AM
They had all the advantages and the gaming cheats given to them, however, they ended their business with losing billions of dollars.
It's a question I previously posed when Celsius collapsed - what was their exit strategy here?

SBF is clearly doxxed and well known, as is Caroline Ellison. As the court documents show, they kept no records of deposits, they didn't even know what bank accounts they had, and they simply helped themselves to customers' money for their own personal use. They must have realized that at some point people were going to try to withdraw funds which they had already spent and the whole thing was going to come crashing down? Surely they must have realized they were going to get found out eventually, no? The only other possibility is that they hoped that they could continue to attract enough new users to run it as a Ponzi for 50+ years until after they were both dead, which is just hilariously naive.

Imagine being in crypto and still trusting people like this with your coins instead of having them in your own wallet. It beggars belief.

All of the information about Sam and Caroline is making FTX and Alameda Research appear to be a scam and a ponzi scheme that was created to launder money for some of the biggest political groups within the Democratic party. Read everything about Sam Bankman-Fried's mother and Caroline Ellison's father. All of them have connections to the the government and the Biden administration.

Also, watch the interview in this tweet.

2096  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for November on: November 22, 2022, 03:37:43 AM
@STT. This might not be another ordinary bear market similar to what much of the people in the community are assuming. I reckon after witnessing the collapse of 3 Arrows Capital, after Luna and FTX being exposed as ponzi schemes and if Barry Silbert's Genesis Global becomes bankrupt, there might be an attempt to dismantle the cryptospace, create stricter regulations and introduce government digital currencies.
2097  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Genesis' crypto lending (Genesis Global Capital) halts withdrawals on: November 22, 2022, 02:23:46 AM
This might be where it will be the community who will be biting the dust after another dump on bitcoin to $10k. However, it appears that we underestimating the negative impact of Genesis Global's collapse on the cryptospace. No one is talking about it and much of the conversations and the arguments are still on FTX and Alameda Research. This might be the most shocking news because no one appears to be paying attention that Genesis Global is owned by Barry Silbert's DCG.

Is this only fud or are news writers beginning to be correct as some of them were correct in their speculations on FTX?

Now, fears are swirling that $10 billion bitcoin and crypto giant Digital Currency Group (DCG) could be in trouble after its crypto lender Genesis was forced to pause withdrawals and reports emerged it's seeking an emergency $1 billion loan.

Ahead of the withdrawal suspension, Genesis requested an emergency loan of $1 billion from investors, it was reported by the Wall Street Journal, citing a leaked fundraising document that described a "liquidity crunch due to certain illiquid assets on [Genesis'] balance sheet."

"There has been a target on Genesis's back for days," Joseph Edwards, an investment partner at Securitize Capital, told Reuters, adding it's "a signal of worse outcomes" for the crypto market due to Genesis' close links with brokers, family offices and money managers.

5) ALAMEDA RESEARCH WAS EXEMPTED FROM AUTO LIQUIDATION ON FTX
This particular one got me shaking my head. With all the data they had about the different position traders make when trading features, they even went far by exempting their positions from the auto-liquidation Engine. I remember  an interview where she claimed that stop losses were kind of stupid

Watch and laugh  Grin Grin

This just goes to show the kind of manipulation that happens in exchanges. Who knows what Binance or gate.io does behind the scenes, for example

I watched that interview. The interviewers appear to have made it like it was her first couch interview for a porn video hehehee.

What was very head shaking was how they operated their business. They had all the advantages and the gaming cheats given to them, however, they ended their business with losing billions of dollars.

@draftapes. Welcome to the forum There is the very few of us who play fantasy football yearly in this thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224503.0

We play it in a different format, however, I have already known about the format that you offer and I have always waited for a site with a fantasy format such as yours that also accepts deposits in cryptocoins hehe. Good luck to your site and I wish you will prosper. It will also be good for us fantasy fans.
2100  Economy / Gambling / Re: Neodice.com | Futuristic Dice Platform 🎲🌌 on: November 21, 2022, 04:11:43 AM
@Neodice. I want to suggest something. It might be better for the game to have the music always on by default, I reckon. It will certainly give the players a more relaxing experience if whether they are winning or losing hehe. Also, because your faucets has been gamefied, it might be good to add some sound effects for them. This will certainly make everyone more interested in playing them.
