2101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel shameful for being a gambler? on: February 06, 2017, 08:28:08 PM
There is nothing to be shameful as I am playing gamble with my own money and as long as others are not disturbed it is fine for me. All my friends and family know I am doing gambling both online and offline even there I do in company of my friends. I am not greedy that is which prevent me from troubles and well balanced gambling is good to go for me.

That's really a healthy approach to gambling. I think if your gambling hurts no one you shouldn't be ashamed of it. But you have to be cautious because as far as I know many gambling addicts were starting with healthy approach at the beginning.
2102  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-02-05] As Bitcoin ETF Nears, Analysts Warn of Trading Frenzy on: February 06, 2017, 08:18:55 PM
Interesting how the establishment media are beginning to pump Bitcoin.

Could it be they are doing this in anticipation of a potential BU-chain fork, so that plenty of burned investors spread the establishment's favourite form of Bitcoin news: "Bitcoin is dead"? Considering these people are supposed to be marketing themselves as/to financial analysts and investors, you'd think they'd actually do a meaningful risk assessment.

Actually they have no choice. Expecting big rise of Bitcoin in the near future they want to be the first letting their audience to know. It's really interesting times we live in, media who were always going negative on BTC now is spreading good news about it.
2103  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: February 06, 2017, 07:49:47 PM
AFAIK, their house edge is 5% (please correct me if I am wrong)

Yes, you are absolutely right. Their Multiply game has 5% house edge

I just got 1 question, did anyone from this forum ever win (wtever the prize) from their lottery?
Sorry if someone came up with this question, but just can't read through 9x pages.

If you ask me, I have never won in their lottery and that's why I disabled it at some point.

But I did roll over 9886 several times and couple of times I rolled over 9986, and once I rolled over 9994 which gives you $2. That was a great feeling.

I disabled the lottery too, never lucky.

Wow...how lucky you are, I had never rolled sth like 9994, and even 9986.  Undecided

Is that 3rd prize on their list for 9994? (using mobile so can't check it on the site now)
at least we had some1 who won big before (at least $2 in 1 roll is a big reward in faucet)

Yes that's correct, it's the 3d place in their list of prizes. You can win either $200 or $20 or $2 or $0.2 or $0.02 or $0.002 there. Most of the time it's $0.002 of course.

And actually it wasn't exactly a big luck. I've made over 3,000 FREE ROLLS there so statistically it's normal that I rolled over 9994 once.

But I think HKGolden is right at calling you lucky. Even if you win when playing with 90% win chance it's luck, it wasn't guaranteed that you'd roll over 9994 after making 3k free rolls. I've made less than (but close to) 1k rolls there and I've won $0.02 only two times and never anything bigger than that.
2104  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin atm on: February 06, 2017, 07:34:02 PM
Anyone in the bitcoin ATM business??

I haven't seen any bitcoin ATM physically with my eyes but these are very rear and they aren't in every country in the world. I think they are good if people want to spend/buy bitcoin fast but as far as I'm aware the fees aren't low there.

Yes that's true. The fees in bitcoin ATM are sometimes as high as 8% of the amount of transaction. Hopefully in the future there will be a lot of bitcoin ATMs and the fees will be lower.
2105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: They have a Bitcoin beer vending machine in Vancouver on: February 06, 2017, 07:25:19 PM
I recently visited Vancouver where I got to grab myself a bitcoin beer at D-Ctrl, and sit down with Mike from Coincards.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oHR_Rea-HU

That's a good thing you can buy a beer with bitcoin somewhere. No way I'm trying to find anything bad in this, but it's really interesting to know how much did he pay in USD for that beer? I mean was it much more expensive than in the bar? Because I think if it was just 5-8% more expensive that's ok, but if it was 20% more expensive that's too much.
2106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What would you do with your winnings? on: February 06, 2017, 06:45:52 PM
I've read here a lot about "Gambling doesn't make you rich" So I thought about it, and it does make sense. So what do you feel about gambling then? Just entertainment? I think that's not everybody's mindset.

In the back of my mind, I want to be rich but not because of gambling. But when I gamble, I still always want to win. So when you always win, you become more rich and more risk will be involved. Anyway, if I would earn a winning bet that would have a lot of profit from, I would withdraw the initial bet or the bitcoins I deposited to get it back, then still gamble.

If you would have a winning bet that would give you a lot of profit, what would you do with it?

What I definitely wouldn't do is gambling with that profit if it was really big. I wouldn't do that because I know you will lose everything eventually so it's stupid if you were once lucky to win big amount to start gambling with it. I'd withdraw the money leaving probably not more than 1% on my balance to gamble with it in the future.
2107  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin dead? on: February 05, 2017, 05:58:31 PM
This thread was started when the price of 1 BTC was below $300 and since it went to that point from $1,200+ it really seemed that Bitcoin was almost dead. But at Bitcoin these days! I think OP knows the answer to his question now.
2108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Reason Bitcoin will always be #1 on: February 05, 2017, 05:51:16 PM
Is because the name "Bitcoin" is the best name for a crypto-currency.

No other name will be as good.
I believe Bitcoin will always be #1 but not entirely due to its name, there are many other currencies are also very promising. I think the value and features of Bitcoin has made its position. Bitcoin is growing and widespread popularity. Its value is really important, Bitcoin will be No. 1

Yes, since it's the most valued cryptocurrency for years it is already proved that it's number one, has always been and will be. But I like the name too. There is a saying among sailors "What name you will give to a ship will detertmine what kind of luck it will have in the sea".
2109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can trading be considered as gambling?? on: February 05, 2017, 05:27:59 PM
Yes, trading is like gambling in many ways. First of, like in gambling no one can actually predict what will happen next. In gambling it's about what number you will roll or what card will appear next. In trading it's about which coin will be pumped today and which will be dumped. Second, like in gambling, the higher the amount of money you risk in trading the higher your profit might be in case your predictions were right ones.
2110  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-2-2] Employee mined bitcoins on Federal Reserve servers for two years on: February 03, 2017, 04:43:41 PM
Interesting article. I like the quote from another article on the same case, “While it makes you wonder what Berthaume knows about monetary policy that we don’t,”  meaning that the emplyee of the Federal Reserve probably trusts Bitcoin more than USD.

I think in two years he has mined at least 10 BTC so he'll be fine with that $5,000 fine. Smiley
2111  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do not play at thegar.org: Scam site. on: February 03, 2017, 04:23:34 PM
Deposited a small amount (0.015), and the game immediately started draining my balance (despite being the largest blob in the game). After maybe 30 seconds withdrew the remaining ~0.002. I left this comment on UR's(https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=748144) thread for the site, which can be located here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1770364.0

Its a self moderated thread, and he deleted my comment, so as I said I would, he gets his own thread Smiley

Scam. Deposited 15k bits and all it did was rapidly deduct my balance down (even though I was significantly larger than everyone else, and there was no way of me losing points).

Also note: I see this is a self moderated thread. If you delete my post I will start my own thread.

Thanks for letting us know! Just was about to try the site. Deleting negative comments about your site instead of answerting them is a very bad attitude.

I'm sorry you lost 0.015 to that site. That's a big money, for me at least.
2112  Economy / Economics / Re: Is the economy situation in your country that bad? on: February 03, 2017, 04:13:03 PM
It seems there are bad news all around with doom and gloom. Trade figures going down, jobs cuts, security situation not going well, and bad loans.

Is the economy situation in your country that dismal? Or this is just some fear mongering?

Where I live most people have to work all day long to be paid $200/month. If you have where to live that amount would be enough for one person but if you have to rent a flat it's almost impossible to survive. I'm a student and I live with my parents so I'm not complaining but for many people in my country it's really hard to find a good paying job.
2113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great way to make Bitcoin! on: February 03, 2017, 03:57:43 PM
Speaking about methods to earn or make bitcoins? there is only one way to print money that is printing obviously and for BTC the same rule applies which is mining.
If you think mining is no longer profitable? think again, you don't need to mine and sell same day but if you are smart enough you could mine and hold, yes I know it's risky but we're talking about bitcoins here, the only rise market in the world.

I agree. If Bitcoin was staying at the same level for years mining would be unprofitable eventually since difficulty is rising. But the price of BTC is rising more quickly than of anything else including the latest mining equipment so mining is a great way to make Bitcoin, no doubt about that.
2114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: February 03, 2017, 03:35:32 PM
We know for an addicted gamblers, isn't easy to instantly quit for good. For others, losing too much and they will stop.
But you should try to stop expecting to earning through gambling, first.
Then, find another profitable activities or allocate your energy to something else such as sports or learning something new.

You are right if we stop thinking that gambling is a place of gambling then we will not go there for money and if someone want to earn money only from these gambling sites then he have to start his own casino online or offline as only that is the business in gambling while playing is not a way to get money but is a way to get entertainment.

This is the main problem of all gambling addicts, they think they can make money with gambling applying different strategies or using their "skills". That is an awful way of thinking which often lead to awful consequences.
2115  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can companies that produce mining equipment use devices? on: February 02, 2017, 04:56:46 PM
Yes that is how they "test" them.

What I would like to say is that they can use the devices for a certain period of time, extract the bitcoin and then sell it later.
I don't say: product quality testing.

Yes that is what they do when they """""""""""""""test""""""""""""""" them to make sure they work before shipping to customers. There may be some unseen delays in getting products to purchasers because of these """""""""""""""tests""""""""""""""" last longer than expected.

I'm not talking about from it.

For example, the BitMain company is now selling the S9.
But the bitmain company has the S10 on hand.
The S10 has been tested for quality control and is ready to be sold to customers.
But Bitmain wants to sell the S9 on the market first.
The customer does not know his S10.
Bitmain is doing bitcoin mining with the S10 device.
On the one hand, the S11 device is being developed.
After completing the development of the device S11, it is selling the device S10.

That's what I want to tell you. I do not know how else I can tell you more clearly.

Most likely they are doing something like this because it looks logical. Only I've never heard someone comlaining about receiving a used miner insteed of a new one so even if they are doing this they are doing it very cautiously.
2116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why we still gambling while we always lose? on: February 02, 2017, 04:38:16 PM
In gambling we just know about two things
These are
Win or lose
But the question is when you do betting
You always lose
You do realize about it but why we still go through on betting place?!!!
Apologoze if my topic have already exist it just about my interesting about your opinion about my experiences

Probably you are talking about sports betting because in dice you can't always lose, I mean you can't lose every bet even if you want to, of course if you are not betting with 0.01% winning chance. If I was upset every time I lose I wouldn't gamble at all. I like the process since I never play with money I can't afford to lose.
2117  Economy / Economics / Re: panic selling on: February 02, 2017, 03:44:25 PM
I guess what will happen now since the price is rising again will be panic buying, why not? The price movement will probably gonna hit to $1,000 again and I know some would love to sell at the current selling price to cash out a bit, but I tell you, if you don't badly need money you could hold longer for better profit.

I agree. I only sell my coins when I'm in desperate need of money. Fortunately since I usually sell not more than $20 worth of Bitcoin when the price rises afterwards I'm not feeling too bad about what I lost due to selling at lower price.
2118  Economy / Economics / Re: why is it so hard to buy bitcoin on: February 01, 2017, 06:08:11 PM
If you do not want to provide your photo ID for buying bitcoins then go to those exchanges where they do not need your verification compulsory for have a full account on that exchanges. Then deposit your money to that exchanges and but bitcoins of how much you need to buy. For example go and create an account on yobit or any other exchange like that.

You can sell Bitcoin for USD on yobit but after that how can you withdraw USD without revealing your identity? I have never tried to do it myself, so maybe there is a way, but I thought you have to provide at least your CC number for that.
2119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Excuses on: February 01, 2017, 05:35:20 PM
I don't borrow money to pay my debt(I dont have one) because its a bad strategy and and will make you stress turning into a bad choice every bet you made and probably evolve into depression because you cant pay your debt because of always losing money on gambling. It is much better to bet small and gain small instead of borrowing not knowing if you win or lose that bet.

Good for you that you don't borrow money. I also never borrow more than I know I can easily find and I never ever borrow to gamble.

Gamblers tend to find countless excuses to justify their addiction but in fact if they really think they can make life of the people living with them better with gambling they need professional help.
2120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: January 31, 2017, 05:58:12 PM
This time I was more focused on gambling, I think as long as we are young and productive it would be better if the risk-taking that is choosing gambling. I want to get rich just time and by gambling it can be realized. for the investment it takes a very long time and I have not yet thought.

So basically you want to have big profits in a short period of time, without waiting, right? Well, you won't go far with that kind of approach. If you are young it doesn't mean you'll be lucky in gambling. I suggest you to reconsider your priorities.

Well, that is a bad idea "being young means that you are lucky in gambling", come on man, not everyone are having good luck to win a good gamble. I'm gambling for years now and i never even won something on that. But now it is just my hobby of getting my time spent. I am just using my free rolls or free bitcoin that I get, it can help you reduce losing your money.

That's what I was talking about. I hope you are not arguing with me. And I absolutely agree with your last sentence, indeed it is one of the best ways of gambling - to use free rolls, happy hours etc.
