1621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: June 19, 2017, 07:46:21 AM
I don't believe such speculation about XRP. it is a huge premined coin

but i also heard it will be 100$ each ripple in 2020, we still need to wait for nearby 2 year
so it will pump and dump this year .. with this range ==> 0.00009884 to 0.00011250  ..

Nothing is coming this year for Ripple

Thanks
stop trolling...it will never be $100 ...lols funny guy if you believe that and compare it to things happening this yr  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

actually ..sorry ...if all goes as planned and we do have a new system in place for next 50yrs..(chk sbi official pdf for full info on blockchain and XRP RIPPLE doing it for us)

then we go to the multi $trill in lets say 10yrs time+...then yes we will be $100+ = 1XRP  Wink

when we do cross the $trill as a market...it will goto multi $trill very quick..
just as it did when it first hit $mill and $bill...market never looked back

At first I thought that's impossible to achieve having 100,000,000,000 XRP, but then I made some calculations:

$75 trillion (all the money in the world) / 100,000,000,000 XRP = $750 per 1 XRP

So yeah, if Ripple replaces all the money in the world it can reach as high as $750/XRP.
1622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TOR] Torcoin - X11 PoW - Tor Integrated Crypto - Torcoin.org on: June 19, 2017, 07:23:27 AM
When I started my Torcoin wallet today everything were looking promissing at first. Synchronizing with netwrok was going like always. But when I had  1 block remaining it stucked there for around 10 minutes. And then it looked like the wallet was completely synchronized eventually.

To check whether it works I visited https://torcoinfaucet.com/ and claimed some TOR there. I got the message: "In an hour or so you will receive 0.0014 TOR!" So, we'll see, in an hour or so.  Smiley

EDIT: Good news! I received 0.00001 TOR in my wallet 10 minutes ago(Type: Mined). It's not from the faucet, but still, looks like everything's working.  Smiley
1623  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin reduces unemployment on: June 18, 2017, 08:41:51 AM
Maybe you are right bitcoin can reduce unemployment because I think looking for work in today is not easy, especially those who do not have high graduates, those who have graduate degree also sometimes difficult to get a job, so I think there is no harm if an unemployed person knows bitcoin and start looking for bitcoin so they can make ends meet with bitcoin income.

I certainly do not know, perhaps some people leave their jobs hoping for better income, so a person moves from one job to another, others may actually derive benefits that would otherwise not be possible, maybe it's still a very early stage of any kind of change but it could certainly bring opportunities for some.

I agree with you, it is a very early stage indeed. Most people who really need jobs have no idea what bticoin is and, what is more important, how can they benefit from it. So, in my opinion, it would be right to say that bitcoin has the ability to reduce unemployment in the future.
1624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: can gambling give you lessons in life? on: June 18, 2017, 08:34:49 AM
I would be very difficult to say that gambling gives a start in life Or, in other words, it can somehow teach a person's life. This is a very specific hobby, which does not always benefit people.

Gambling can benefit only people who are playing for having fun and who never think he/she can make money with it.

But even losing you can get good lessons and that's what gambling can give you even if you are wrong and play for money. The best outcome is when you stop after receiving those lessons. Do not wait too long until the "lessons" will ruin your life.
1625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Predict the date for the 'Flippening' - on: June 18, 2017, 08:22:17 AM
If you think Ether is competing with Bitcoin for merchant transactions you don't understand what Ethereum is offering. Ether tokens represent computing power on Ethereum's blockchain platform, it's not a monetary currency to buy goods and services. (The Ethereum folks mention this on their website).

The "market observers" who coined the word "the Flippening" are confusing too many people. This isn't about Ether replacing Bitcoin. It's about the investment value of bitcoin the currency and ether the computing power token. It's frustrating that so many people are confusing this key detail.

From a Coindesk article on the FLippening "branded 'The Flippening' by market observers, this new hypothetical is defined loosely as the point at which a competing blockchain network could replace bitcoin as the largest and best capitalized blockchain." (http://www.coindesk.com/flippening-will-ether-pass-bitcoin-will-mean/)

This "guess the date" question is like guessing when the market cap of Google exceeded the market cap of the Euro.

The only similarity is that since the crypto market is so small some money that was invested in Bitcoin is likely being sold to invest in Ethereum....not as a currency but because the price per token is sky rocketing.

This reply looks very interesting and reasonable at the same time. It would be really great to see the OP's reply to this.

I was always thinking that Ethereum is a good investment but I never thought that you can't buy goods with ETH. Is that true? I thought theoretically we can buy goods with any coin.

Whether or not you can 'buy goods' with ETH isn't so interesting.  You merely need a counterparty who agrees.  It reminds me of the Lamborghini dealer who sells cars for bitcoin - who the fuck cares?!  That isn't an indicator that bitcoin is powerful and becoming widely accepted, it just means some Lamborghini dealer will handle the conversion to fiat on his end.  Yet the community takes this a 'proof' of bitcoin's versatility.  Not all in the Bitcoin community are so sharp.

Ethereum is a platform that will support many, many remarkable types of transactions and relationships between parties and especially where those relationships include transfer of value.  Bitcoin is similar, but the general purpose platform is very seriously limited.  Bitcoin has been devised to support the primary application: currency.  Ethereum will have many application and certainly does support the 'currency' application.  But nobody in the Ethereum project really cares about the currency application because there is so much important stuff to work on for now.  currency and merchant adoption are very low on the importance list.  They will come later.  For now, the whole team is building the engine room.  Silly apps are of much concern until later.

But the big thing to pay attention to is this: 1) Ethereum is being worked very seriously, everyday, by thousands of smart people in many companies, i.e. even Microsoft.  Conversely, Bitcoin 'leaders' are fighting like little schoolgirls as Adam Back tries to push Bitcoin into a corner for monopolization of transactions on his Lightning Network.  Bitcoin has made zero technical progress in 3 years.   2) Ethereum functionality is HUGE when compared to Bitcoin functionality.  Even if Bitcoin decided to liberalize the scripting - it will be a silly joke compared to Ethereum.  Bitcoin hasn't liberalized scripting.  The opposite.  Bitcoin hasn't even changed the limit from 1MB to ?MB.  The smallest imaginable change.  This tiny technical change produced a three year fight with still no solution.  Technical advance cannot happen in the 'consensus' scheme.  For that reason, Ethereum has remarkable advance and Bitcoin is forever stuck precisely where it was 3 years ago.

If you are not very good at thinking and you don't understand what I just wrote, then consider this: If you hodl your bitcoin, you will lose a shitload of value as ETH continues to rise like crazy for the next year or two.  Probably even longer.

Well surely it wasn't easy to comprehend for me but what I understand is that you think Ethereum has much bigger potential than bitcoin, because BTC is only a currency and ETH is many things and only lastly a currency.

But why do you say that if I invest in bitcoin I "will lose a shitload of value as ETH continues to rise like crazy"? Maybe people who invest in ETH will earn more, that's possible, but I think bitcoiners will be in profit too.
1626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about Casino with 0% Edge? on: June 18, 2017, 08:01:53 AM
There was similar topic few months ago and I am not buying this 0% edge story.
Casino is making profit because of that edge, if there is no edge than casino won't make profit.
Answer is in ann thread: black jack & sport bets. So, it's not 0% after all.

It's possible to have a zero house edge casino if it's a PVP casino (player versus player). All the money goes from one or another gambler, but this way the house won't make profit, so it's hard to know if someone would spend time running a service like this, making profit only from withdraws and maybe deposits. But for gamblers it would be a different concept of online gambling.
i'm not sure if someone would be willing to do that mate, its a problem because no one would spend their time and money just to earn a little while you can create a house which you can put on some investment and will be able to earn big if many players will played.

But running a site without house edge you can earn on placing ads from other gambling sites if your site becomes popular. PVP casino without any house edge would be a popular site among gamblers because many of them think that it is the house edge what beats them.
1627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LBRY - Decentralized yt/netflix ; is this the most undervalued coin? (NEXT x10) on: June 18, 2017, 07:52:09 AM
30k sat now! Wow!

Yes, it keeps rising, it's 0.00031554 BTC already! And in USD it went from $0.59 to $0.79 in in a matter of two days. And if people will not start dumping the coin thinking that it will never go higher than it is today, LBRY will be rising more and more.
What site you exchange on?
Im prob gonna start getting LBRY and hold.

You can exchange LBRY in four places now: Poloniex, Bittrex, alcurEX and Cryptopia. And although it might look like you can buy cheaper on other markets I suggest you to use Poloniex, because it is a very good site and the difference is in fact insignificant.

How does it work say I want to make videos like on youtube do I go to a site or do I have to download a windows clients in order to upload or watch videos?

You will have to download an app, but as far as understand only developers and other technical users can try LBRY now, on the stage of "early access", before it goes public.

I think you can find the answers to all your questions about LBRY here https://lbry.io/faq

1628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Someone won freebitco.in lottery already? on: June 18, 2017, 07:11:57 AM
Is freebitco.in legit? It seems there are some didn't win or didn't cash out yet?
I experience playing in this site but I think its just a waste of time, well I only played once.
Thankful that I didn't took much effort.
Wanna focus in some other things like in trading and investing.

With trading or investing you can earn money if you know what you are doing. With gambling you can't, and it doesn't matter whether it's freebitco.in or other gambling site. Yes, they are legit, many people can confirm that, including me, but that doesn't mean you can earn money playing on the site, like you can with trading or investing.

1630  Economy / Economics / Re: The legalization of bitcoin. on: June 17, 2017, 04:21:51 PM
Do you think if we create an initiative group for the legalization of bitcoin. To find uninhabited island, to announce the collection of funds for its acquisition. Everyone who contribute will receive a piece of this island. Based on the state of Bitcoin official currency of this state to make a bitcoin. Do you like this idea?

This is not a good idea, I'm sorry to say that. We live in a world where pirates and other bandits are still there. So to live on that island we'll need an army, weapons and stuff and that's not what we want at all, right?

Actually we already have an island in a way, this forum, and seeing how people fight with each other sometimes we can can imagine what life would be like on the island you proposed even if we had no other problems.
1631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think about Casino with 0% Edge? on: June 17, 2017, 02:59:18 PM
I just found out about this project of Casino that will be opened and it has 0% Edge and I just thought, seriously, why we pay an edge in online Casinos?

I mean in Traditional Casino they need this Edge money for all the environment and all the feeling, a lot of employees and all the little things they give to us but in Online Casino, we don't get this, so why we need to pay? For them to be rich? Just this idea really annoys me.

I really hope this project will work out!

First of, you shouldn't deposit your money on a new gambling site with 0% House Edge because it might be a trap. Secondly, it's not because of the House Edge we lose in gambling. If that was the case then we'd lose only 1% of our deposit when playing on a site with 1% Edge, but for some reasons we lose it all. And the main reason is bad luck which is much worse than any House Edge however big it was.
1632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: June 17, 2017, 02:35:47 PM
XRP is fully premined coin how come it will be 100 $ i am shocked  Cheesy Cheesy Grin

Who's saying it will be $100? I think no one except trolls maybe.

XRP, premined or not, has the potential to be $1 by the end of this year by the opinion of many ppl who've done at least a minimal research on the subject. I personally predict $2, but that's just my opinion and we'll see who were right in December.
1633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TOR] Torcoin - X11 PoW - Tor Integrated Crypto - Torcoin.org on: June 17, 2017, 12:59:20 PM

But we already have the Windows wallet, or am I missing something?

Yes.  Yes, we do.

The Torcoin website also boldly informs all comers that "Torcoin is fully integrated with TOR and therefore 100% anonymous."

Your comment looks sarcastic but I do have a Torcoin wallet for Windows and I use it and it works for several weeks already.

For those who have problems with it I advise to check what your Windows Defender has quarantined.  Wink

I have no doubt that the Windows wallet works.  I did not mean to imply otherwise.  (I only ever kept my Torcoins in my wallet at the exchange.)

My point was that Torcoin has NEVER been what the website and ANN post boldly proclaimed it to be.  The Windows and MacOS wallets needed additional development before Torcoin could truthfully claim to be 100% integrated with Tor.  Have you not been keeping up with the prior comments on this thread, where this has been discussed ad nauseum?

This has been pointed out to the founder of Torcoin repeatedly on this thread, yet he did not have the integrity to change the claims posted on the website and the ANN post, to reflect the pending nature of the coin's full integration with Tor.  Instead, he flat out ignored objections, and kept the grossly misleading statements posted on the website and ANN post, where they will continue to misinform any prospective investors trying to do their due diligence before buying.

The fact that some anonymous user has (or appears to have) independently developed Tor integrated Windows and Mac wallets for this coin, does absolutely NOTHING to restore my confidence in the founder of this coin.  I do not know whether the founder set out from the start to scam anyone (in fact, I doubt it), but I do know that he has demonstrated beyond any doubt that he couldn't care less whether the statements on his coin's website are truthful as to the current status of this coin, or not.

This is why I have sold off my substantial investment in this coin, and at a loss.  The founder of this coin is at the core of this coin's future, and is the driving force behind this coin's ultimate success or failure - and if he neither gives a damn about his investors' clearly expressed feedback and objections, nor has the integrity to amend misleading statements to accurately reflect the truth when they are pointed out to him, then I will not put my hard earned money on the long term success of this coin.

I'm sorry you sold at a loss, you should have waited probably for the coin to rise. I personally believe that Torcoin will be $1.20+ in the near future because it's obvoius that it is not dropped by developers and that they are doing many things right now to improve the situation.
1634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much risk in bitcoin investement ? on: June 17, 2017, 12:47:30 PM
If only buy btc and retain it will depend on the volatility of the market. And this one can not say that it is influenced by other factors, such as the btc needs of people. Btc investment is only risky when you invest in a  project.

That is correct. If you invest solely in BTC you will hardly regeret the decision in the future, but investing your BTC in different projects is entirely another thing. Think twice before doing that, maybe it's better to just hold.

1636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Someone won freebitco.in lottery already? on: June 17, 2017, 11:41:46 AM
Even though freebitco.in is one of the old and paying faucet out there, I doubt on the way they pick lottery winners. Odds to win there is almost 0 because of lots of tickets sold every round and lots of people have free tickets with every claim they make on faucet.

But this is inherent to almost any lottery. An average state lottery has jackpot odds of about 100,000,000 to 1, and in the Powerball lottery the odds of winning are 1 in 175,223,510.

Yes, in lottery winning chances are very less and should be very lucky to win a big amount. Since no one can verify how they are picking the winner so there are chances that admin can pick the number which they want so until they find ways to verify system is fair and they are not doing any hidden things. It is better to avoid the site to buy lottery tickets.

I for one never buy lottery tickets there and there is an option to "disable lottery" which means that if you do that "you will receive reward points instead of lottery tickets at a 1:1 ratio for all future FREE BTC rolls that you or your referrals play" as they state on the site and that's true. Btw you can do some nice things with the reward points, you can read about that in the section REWARDS on the site .

I always thought the "disable lottery" option was there for religious reasons. { Some religions do not allow gambling } So if these people

disable the lottery, then they can still use the site. I wonder if the Free Roll would still be regarded as gambling? I did not even notice the change

if you disable the lottery. {giving you reward points and not entries into the lottery}  Grin

I think people shouldn't use this site at all if it's against their religion to gamble. When you do your free roll it is aslo a kind of a lottery because you can win from $0.002 to $200. OR they can play lottery too if gambling with free money is not considered gambling in their religion, which is possible I guess, but I don't know for sure.
1637  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin atm on: June 17, 2017, 11:29:15 AM
Don't have any bitcoin ATM in my country so far but I wish there would any. I have seen it on internet, it is quite impressive as you are able to buy coins into your wallet whenever you want through it just by putting your cash in.

For now it is much better to do it on an exchange because bitcoin ATMs charge a lot for the service, so you shouldn't feel bad about not having it in your country. But I agree that sometimes we are ready to pay more for the convenience and it's a pity to not have that option.
1638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to control greed on gambling? on: June 17, 2017, 11:06:06 AM
That's why it's helpful to set a limit on what you can deposit say during a week and never go above that limit. Thus you will enjoy gambling without losing to it more than you can afford. It's hard to do at first, especially for an addicted gambler, but if you'll manage to do it your life will change for better.
That could be a good thing to do, set your limits in order for you not to lose all. You need to have a self discipline learn to have a limit, if you have been done that for many times and for top long you are now have a control in yourself. And just be contended in every winnings in that case you may avoid greediness and you may be so happy with it.

I think it's very important to learn how to enjoy even the smallest winnings and after winning a bit to not try to win more. That's how people lose because of their greed, they want to more and more and thus they lose everything eventually.

I do know some people that had panic when the price went down from 2800 dollars, if you arent able to hold your investment for over 6 months 1 year bitcoin is a risky investment, because pumps and dumps always happen, the price now is quite atractive if i had some extra fiat i would get some more satoshis for me.

I agree, I was afraid it will never fall from that $2,800. Not that I can afford to buy a lot, but I'm going to buy at least $50 worth of BTC if it will go again under $2,300 because I think in that case it will be a zero risk investment.
