2121  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another upcoming big events, Bitcoin price valuation and halving events. on: June 10, 2021, 04:07:12 PM
Its time when BTC is no longer xxx mln $ asset with 25% inflation. Its no longer nerds kindergarten. Bitcoin is now sailing on bluewaters with other big ships, with wall street whales, with strong storms (f.e FED decisions). Halving was a big thing when BTC was small with big inflation. Its not like that now.

First halving decreased inflation from 25% to 12% (strong fundamential impact), second halving from 9% to 4,5% third one from 3,8% to 1,9%. So every next halving has weaker fundamental influence on price. Fifth halving will decrease inflation from 0.4% to 0.2% (dust). From fundamential perspective, no one should care. From speculative ... who knows.

What build value of BTC more? Decreasing inflation from 3.8% to 1.9% (last halving) or FED, that printed 25% of dollar supply in last year? 25% of whole $$ supply printed in 1 year...
2122  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: where can i backtest my strategies on: June 10, 2021, 03:47:27 PM
Just create binance account, generate API key and use Marked data endpoints with few lines of code to collect what you want.

Kline/Candlestick Data:
Name   Type   Mandatory   Description
symbol   STRING   YES
interval   ENUM   YES
startTime   LONG   NO
endTime   LONG   NO
limit   INT   NO   Default 500; max 1000.
https://binance-docs.github.io/apidocs/spot/en/#kline-candlestick-data

As you can see you can put 1m or 5m candle as parameter (interval) together with starttime and endtime.

There is also "Old Trade Lookup" and "Compressed/Aggregate Trades List" if you need to get data trade by trade. It it might be too much for backtesting simple strategies.
2123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ROBUST TOKEN - An experimental BEP20 deflationary token on BSC on: June 10, 2021, 03:20:39 PM
Just stop. Stop with next scam token. Build to exist... no other use case, no other purpose.

Being deflationary does not mean anything when total value is equal to 0. It does not matter if 100k tokens are worth 0 or 10k tokens are worth 0. 0 - thats how much is worth smart contract with build in 1% fee (despite short term price fluctuations).

ICO, IDO and other types of offering are made for devs to collect funds. To build big things. To build next binance. To build next gen uniswap. To build whole enviroment that needs token to exist (or use token to reduce fees). Build something that everyone needs. Not to collect money and leave people with "deflationary asset" created thanks to 1h youtube video.  "deflationary asset"  that no one wants.
2124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Increases Its Debt-for-Bitcoin Offering to $500 Million on: June 10, 2021, 06:13:07 AM
People who are looking for safe harbors and stable returns on their million-dollar investments don't really seek crazy APYs like degens. A lot of us can afford that infinty% compounded APY degeneracy as individuals. On the other hand, institutions want safe investments all the time.

A return of >6% in these low interest rate times (in fact negative at some points) is a good investment for such entities. They are selling off the risk to Saylor, which is why he runs the risk of bankruptcy if he cannot service that debt.

Its not safe and stable return. Its not paper issued by company that generate decent profits to gain founds for further grow. Its paper issued by dead company that is known from overexposing to high risk assets.

Maybe its too much to call microstrategy dead but:

Sales/revenue goes down year after year.

Net income was negative in 2020. In fact even when it wasn't negative (~20M on average) it was funny low compared to capitalization B4.5$ and total debt they have ($1,75B + 400mln$ that they plan to get now). Microstrtegy will need 100 years to give back its debt if BTC investment will fail and they will have to give it from their profit. Its already impossible for them to exist if btc will start to go down. 6% from 400 mln dept is 24 mln$ annualy. Rolling this single debt is more than microstartegy average annual profit.

So its not like "They are selling off the risk to Saylor," its like Saylor is gambling someone else money using his dead (unprofitable) company as collateral. In case of bankruptcy those loans wont be paid. Am I wrong?

So if btc will go up its better to invest by yourself, if BTC will go down microstrategy will bankrupt and your paper will be worthless. Its loss - loss situation for investor and win-win solution for Saylor.

2125  Other / Archival / Re: Scalping is the most controversial way to make money. My experience for 4 years on: June 09, 2021, 05:46:52 PM
Thats pretty much my story too. More than 3.5 years 10h daily in front of charts. I also had technical background before entering crypto market (trading stocks for 2 years) and also 0 knowledge about crypto when i staterd to daytrade it. And I have symilar end thoughts but not so harsh.

A scalper's life looks something like this Grin:

I can add into this:
1-Christmas holidays and checking price in the middle of christmas dinner.
2-waiking up in the middle of the night only to turn from side to side and go to sleep on but... suddenly you remembered where you left your position open ... and thats the end of sleep... you have to pick up the phone and check the price

And when he showed me his growth in assets, I was, of course, very surprised and at the same time very depressed. I remembered how much time I spent multiplying my capital.

1- Did he sold? Paper gains =/ cash on wallet.
2- Ask him about his holding profit not after 15 months of bull market. Ask him about his holding profit 15 months of bear market when everything will dump 80 - 99.5%. I'm sure it will not be as spectacular.

Good thing about scalping is that its the fastest way to learn how to manage your money, how to open and close position in best possible place, how market works, how volatile it can be, how it react on news. I think that the most successful holder is ex-scalper with 2 years experience. Person that can read chart. Hodler, who never actively traded is good only during never-ending bull runs (BTC in 10 year time frame is during "never-ending bull run"). But nothing grows to the sky. One day crypto market will enter 10-20 years of bear market. Most holders will eventually break selling at the bottom. -90% from ATH. Who has such strong hands to hold an asset for 20 years losing year after year.

Holder in most cases takes unknown risk (my thread from 2018) and I can't imagine crypto newbie that will do reseach good enough to do long term investment choosing few coins out of 10 000:

I've seen many times on this forum statements like:
"trading is risky, holding is safer"
"when you are hodling you are not making that many mistakes"
"in trading there are much more possibilities to lose money"
"if you would buy ether for 1$ look where you could be now"
"Hodler is not affected by whales making pump and dump"

Let's discuss then how does investing time goes with risk taken (lets discuss only about risk).

Hodler strategy risk:

Hodler is buying coins by fundamental (whitepaper, team, code, hype, being unique in specific segment) analysis for very long period. Hodling is a strategy very often suggested for newbies in cryptos (when you are newbie than buy good coins and sell on profit after years - I heard it thousands time). What can go wrong?

1- whitepaper is just a document with words. It can be copied and change a little. Faked. I can create my own whitepaper in which ill write that tomorrow ill be on mt everest.
2-team can be faked with fake twitter account with bought followers
3- code - who of us can check if code is OK? How many of currencies have working code now? Most of them are just concept without working product jet.
4- hype can be bought.
5- being unique didn't give you certainty of being unique forever. 1 month after your investment there can be new ICO with better team, bought hype and with working product delivered faster.
6- you are newbie and you did fundamental analyst wrong or didn't do at all just jump after hype or because someone said that its great investment
7- there are 1600 coins. More than 1400 won't survive next few years because they are not necessary. Your decision must be precised and full of luck

What if any of above will happened? Your investment will continuously goes to 0. And if you are hodler you will never sell until there will be nothing to sell. When you are buying with hodler strategy you are risking 100% of your investment. I don't think there is more risky way.

Trader

Good trader have loved coins that he checked fundamental and trade on them. He is trying to buy low and sell high. When trade is not going how he planned it he sells. He don't w8 for coin to hit bottom to panic sell, he tries to sell on the rise. His risk is set by him by stoploss which is set in his trading strategy. And it depends on time period he is investing in and expected profits. He don't fallow pump and dump.

Time period:

When trader see good buy opportunity on 1d candles he has to set stoploss lower, he takes bigger risk then but possible profit is bigger.
When he sees opportunity on 5 min candles he can set stoploss even 0,5% under buy point risking only 0,5% of his investment.

Trader is taking known risk each time he enters trade and this risk i related to expected profits. When trades are not going well he can stop trading, lock money into bitcoin or usd and change strategy. Hodler takes unknows risk - up to 100% - for unknown profit. With hope that his analysis was good and data wasn't faked. He also don't have chance to learn to invest because after first buy decision there is only hodl

From my experience - The best way to start is to daytrade for 1-2 years while learning about crypto as much as possible. Actually using it as much as possible - sending coins, using DEXes, using different chains. Trying different strategies. Allocating profits in middle term investments that might turn to be long term if project will continue to deliver promises and continue its dominance over market. In fact never puting on unconditional hodl more than 20% of wallet. More than 1-2 years of scalping is devastating for health (mental and phisical).

  • the most expensive (in terms of time costs);
  • the most disappointing, because any holder will earn more in the long term than a trader (with rare exceptions);
  • the most difficult type of trading, because psychologically not everyone will be able to sit at the computer for 10-12 hours and make many micro-trades;
  • the most controversial, because it is both the most affordable way to quickly increase your capital and the most ineffective way to make money, at a distance.

I agree. But holding is the most risky strategy. for sure not for newbies.
2126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Increases Its Debt-for-Bitcoin Offering to $500 Million on: June 09, 2021, 05:05:27 PM
Essentially, Microstrategy is raising money from investors by selling them "notes" saying they will use those to purchase more Bitcoins. On that 500 Million dollars, they will pay an annual "fixed" interest (That is why Senior collateral) of 6.125%.

Just wondering. Who is buying those "notes"?

1- Person who don't believe in future of BTC, in BTC price growth will not do that because of risk of miscrostrategy bankruptcy if BTC will dump significantly (majority of microstrategy net worth is their bitcoin holdings - bought using debt)
2- Person who believe in future of BTC, in BTC price growth should not do that either. If you are so sure that BTC price will grow ... why not buy it by himself? 6% annual profit is nothing compared to BTC expected growth.

The only institution wanting to buy those "notes" is ... Tether ... to hide amount of crypto they actualy hold on their balance sheet (currently its 2%)

https://www.coindesk.com/tether-first-reserve-composition-report-usdt

Tether hold close to 50% of its balance sheet in Commercial Paper (corporate dept).

But that's just a conspiracy theory
2127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Price Prediction on: June 08, 2021, 07:41:23 AM
Bitcoin Cash is far superior than Dogecoin with a block size of 32mb. It can handle large transaction throughput with ease.

Its not all about block size. There is also block time, network stability and many others. BCH block time is 10 min while doge 1 min. But do we really compare fundamentals of BCH and DOGE? XD I used doge in my previous post to say that no one use BCH for day to day payments and even doge is more popular in this case and here you are arguing that BCH has slightly better chain XD

Once again:
BCH is worse than BTC as store of value and worse than other alts as day to day payment method. It makes it perfect solution for both? No it makes it useless solution.

1- You store your wealth in most secured, deflationary asset. Safe place. You can't say that about BCH. 2% on BTC hasrate can jump on BCH chain just for a moment to do 51% attack and go back to mine BTC. They both use same hardware.
2- you use cheap and fast chains for day to day payments. You use non volatile tokens for ease of use. You dont want to pay 2$ fee to buy 1$ worth cola. You dont want to open calculator each time you want to buy something. Its better to swap 1000$ once a month from BTC to TRC-20 USDT and use USDT all month without fees. And I'm saing that from my own experience. No one ever asked me to get his payment in BCH because its perfect solution for both store of value and day to day payment.

One thing for sure is that Bitcoin Cash has seen an increase in mainstream adoption.

What? What adoption? Who lauched Bitcoin cash payments for his buisness last months? Amazon? EBAY? Maybe tesla invested in Bitcoin cash?

2128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Idena is the first Proof-of-Person Blockchain on: June 06, 2021, 03:58:29 PM
I guess there is no problem submitting flip and pass verification because of delegation mining?
thx

You just delegate your voting power. This relates to mining and voting in oracle. Everything else is normal. You still have to pass validation, create flips etc.

Oh ... BTW - worth to know. Identity that you delegate your voting power to can terminate your identity.
2129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crypto - place where promise is worth more than product on: June 06, 2021, 09:36:32 AM
Last days I was thinking about how market is evaluating projects. How people makes their financial decision (especially in crypto market).

I found out that the more real value project has (real value like $$ from selling electricity to every citizen in a country) the lesser its price is compared to value and the less volatile and exiting the chart is. Just simple scenario. If you see that company with 1 mln $ annual profit, 5% divident, with little perspectives to increase profit in next years (f.e company sells electricity to every citizen in a country, it will not sell more) and its price pumps 10x you know what to do ... short/sell definitely not buy because you see that it is overvalued. You use fundamential analysis indicators. P/E or P/BV. You see that percentage of divident is going down. You know what to do.

But what if project that has 0 $ annual profit and 0 finished product pumps 100x? You rush in because you believe that market knows more, that its product that will be delivered one day will beat everything that is already available and will rule the word. Perfect example is ADA that has 0 user base, 0 finished products. 5 years of making promises is enough to be evaluated at $50T. And here i dare to say that ADA will never deliver its product. Mainly because its financial shot in the knee. ADA is currently evaluated based on promises. Promises to deliver the best chain. With finished product will be evaluated based on its product. Will have to compete with ETH, TRON, BSC. People will compare user base, speed of chain, daily TX, dynamic of grow, use cases that ADA has compared to ETH and others. And than will try to evaluate it based on data that market finally has. And the best part is ... I dare to say that its not all about tech. Even if ADA will deliver better chain than ETH or TRON, BSC ... it has 0 infrastructure. It will take months for people to learn new wallets. Months for deves to buld something that works on ADA. What will happened faster? CZ will copy ADA solution (its open source product so it will be copy-paste) and launch BSC v2. What advantages ADA will have that day with 0 user base while BSC is now the biggest chain (5 times more TX than ETH) is promoted by binance that own CMC (the biggest user base and the best financial situation - binance annual profit is bigger than $2T) and huge infrastructure that was being build by ETH for years?

Why people rush to buy such assets. Promises of product evaluated higher than products that already are here and works. From my experience such products pumps to the moon and crash weeks before releasing product. Leaving investors with crashing price and product that no one is using.
2130  Economy / Speculation / Re: My million dollar bitcoin price probabilities prediction on: June 06, 2021, 08:58:40 AM
This may not be true, but if the price volatility after halving is decreasing, $1 million price may not be possible by 2029, but the price of bitcoin will still increase though.

The price volatility after halving is decreasing and thats a fact. Why?
1- Bitcoin is differect asset clas with every next halving. From ~$100 milion MC in 2012 to $0,5T MC in 2020. The bigger the asset is, amd the more volume it has the more money it needs to move it.
2- 2012 halving =/ 2016 halving. first halving decreased inflation from 25% to 12%, second halving from 9% to 4,5% third one from 3,8% to 1,9%. So every next halving has weaker fundamental influence on price Fifth halving will decrease inflation from 0.4% to 0.2%.

@OP Why 1 mln? Why not 100 mln? or 1T? What makes you think that BTC in $20T asset while gold marketcap is $12T? You really think that it is a matter of time when BTC will be twice as big as GOLD?
2131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts on DFINITY: internet computer protocol (ICP) ? ? on: June 06, 2021, 06:09:59 AM
and the project has been listed by the world's largest exchanges (Binance, Coinbase Pro, Okex, huobi Global) in the same day.

Big thing. Question is how they achieved this... Random project out of nowhere is being listed on 4 biggest exchanges in the first day of trading. I guess that millions of dollars were invested in listing events.

Currently 190 mln $ of daily volume - its super low for token that appeared in top 10 CMC out of nowhere. Its hard to find lower volume in top 30 CMC. 1-4B$ is normal. Thats first warning sign

Second warning sign is 12B$ capitalization for project that no one is using. 118 nodes ...

"What is Bitcoin? Will Bitcoin be traded in all countries in 2025?" better title for this thread would be "a collection of random thoughts completely unrelated to each other, unrelated even to facts, and of no rare value for the reader".

"Bitcoin is the most advanced virtual reality" XD Didn't know that bitcoin is better than Oculus or HTC VIVE

"most countries in the world have licenses to buy and sell bitcoin." Didn't know that countries needs licenses to buy and sell bitcoin. Who gives them this licenses? Satoshi ?XD

"Countries where bitcoin transactions take place are being recognized as superior countries." XD

What do you think guys?
I am unable to post images directly within the post. Sorry.

It looks very weak. I agree with you. 3 weeks after 50% dump and no recovery. Consolidation at the bottom. It is very likely that we will see next push even to sub 20k levels. Something like 25k is possible.

@everyone that brings Wyckoff here. First time i see that somone played perfect technical formation at the top of bubble. At the top of the mania. Every bubble ends the same way. No matter if it was dotcom bubble, tulip bubble or any other bubble in history. There is always huge spike at the top, short squeez and than doom day. Not 3 months of consolidation...
2134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin Cash (BCH) Price Prediction on: June 05, 2021, 11:37:22 AM
What is your price prediction for Bitcoin Cash?

close to 0$.

Who needs "a little faster BTC" if we have instant TRON, BSC, NANO and thousands of others? Who the hell ... ever ... used BCH for day-to-day payments? No one accepts it. I pay in crypto almost every day. For day to day payments we use stable coins (to avoid calculating back and forward how much is xx$) together with fast chains (so BEP20 BUSD or TRC-20 USDT). I have never received a proposition for BCH payment. So BCH is useless as store of value AKA digital gold (to compete with BTC) - is not as secured - has 50 times lower hashrate and is too slow, volatile and illiquid to compete with others for day-to-day payments. All it has is "bitcoin" in name.

What company accept BCH? Pornhub is the only one - my friend told me XD Even dogecoin has better adoption than BCH as day-to-day payment method.
2135  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Covid-19 carrying the growth in digital currencies? on: June 05, 2021, 11:26:20 AM
How will be easy the day today life after adopting for digital currencies?

You tell me. What will change for average BOB? He has paypal, he has visa, he has instant payments like Stripe, apple pay, google pay... what will change for him if he is not a crypto gambler that stores all his wealth in crypto? Even if ... we have binance card that instantly swap your crypto into fiats. We dont need Starbucks or Walmart to accept bitcoin.

Average BOB dont care about anonymity (share all his sensitive data with facebook/google every day), don't care about currency he is using (the promise of possession has replaced possession for the sake of convenience - gold has been replaced by banknotes), does not know what inflation is. He wants cheap and fast payment methods. thats all. thats what he gets from fiats. Big companies knows that less than 1% would be interested in crypto payments - otherwise they would start to accept BTC in 2014.
2136  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will there be more scams without centralized financial institutions? on: June 05, 2021, 11:11:10 AM
it will eventually be not a problem since a lot of people will exhaust all the ideas on how to scam someone.

There is an infinite amount of fools. Thats why "send me 1 btc and i'll send you 2 BTC back. Trust me I'm Bill Greates" scam is still so popular. People will never learn. The fun fact is that 90% of scams are super easy to spot and avoid. People are just blind when greed covers their eyes.

@OP
Yes. More and more scams. It will never end.

2137  Other / Off-topic / Re: Elon is a troll! on: June 04, 2021, 03:56:45 PM
He has limited amount of ammunition. With every tweet he is getting weaker and weaker. Sooner or later no one will care and BTC will be stronger after shaking out "elon musk tweet investors"

BTW market operators likes to test strength of asset in various ways. One of them is manipulating price f.e pushing it below support to check if there is extra supply or not (called spring in TA) or using fake news. Being bad news resistant is the best indicator of lack of weak hands on asset. We have seen that when BTC was around 3-10k in 2019. I'm not sure if we see it now. This tweet push price -7% after what we've see nice recovery. Definitely we still have bunch of weak hands but few more tweets like that and we will be out of them.

Hoam.. too long shit post to read, better to use ignore and we are fine.

Yea thats pretty much you. Too lazy to do proper research so you take 1 indicator out of 10 and produce price prediction based on that. Its not surprising at all that you get super frustrated when someone brings more advanced analysis when all you can fit in your brain is 1 indicator (cake is cheaper than some shitcoins).

Not like you, did you bought all BNB when it was $15 and realized your profit right now? I guess not.

You are right. I did not. I was accumulating bnb long before my OP. I wrote my thread when I was so amazed how big this opportunity is and how well my investment is performing so I wanted to share it with others. Considering the fact that I get half of my BNB for free (from dumping lauchpads, launchpools to bnb) I'm sure than my average buy is way below 10$.

Thanks for that mania, i have predicted it and made more than 5000% from my investment, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5333786.msg56887812#msg56887812

Did you sold ? XDXD I guess not:

Yup, and the whole of cryptocurrencies also got dump on this season because of FUD from china and Elon about bitcoin energy. Time to buy more with cheaper price, hahaha

You even sugested to buy more because its "cheap". -40% from that day for dogelon. 100 milion $ for project that has only fancy name XD Hell yea its cheap.

BTW how is your buy BNB @550$ or BAKE @7$ investment? Why you bring only succesfull one here?

You choose good projects. BNB is the best altcoin. BNB is my love. I will never dump it all. You just pick terrible moment for investment. Moment right after 30-100x pump. Same was with CAKE. You created OP @13$ few days after it was -30% to 9$.  Fortunately there was a second push to 40$.
2139  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A Big Secret of PANCAKESWAP (CAKE) Coin. TIME TO BUY CAKE WITH CHEAPER PRICE on: June 03, 2021, 04:36:59 PM
Everyone know i made this thread when CAKE WAS $13 ! Lot of people made huge profit but sadly

Huge profit =/ paper gains. Lots of people made decent paper gains - not profits since you did not even mention about realizing profits. You scream buy buy buy. At 13$, 30$, 40$. Every person that listened to you and bought after every "its cheap" post is currently on big loss - not huge profit.

In my topic about BNB i suggested to buy @15$ : "Binance is currently worth $ 2.4 billion (15.6 $ per token)" and set target at "350-500$ as ATH of current market cycle is possible. 1000$ is unlikely". So if someone fallowed me did x20 - x30 of realized profits. Not x1,5-x3 of paper gains at the top and -30% on average if cashed out today.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5208144.0

The fifth strike is his stupidity  Grin

Stupidity is when you deny facts (huge inflation of cake) only because price pumped thanks to mania in which even shitcoins like shiba inu made 1000x.

his above guy missed the opportunity

I didn't miss anything. I had cake way under 1$ and I'm taking profit (realized profits - might be new in your dictionary) starting from 5$, dumping all the way to 40$. Still have some, still farming more from liquidity pools. Did 5x on average. And its not paper gains. Its real money right in my wallet ready to jump in any moment. You started op @ 13$, it was 10$ after 3 months (few days ago - easy entry price as you said), its 20$ now. Why should I buy @ 13$ 3 months ago with you if I could buy @10$ few days ago? Did you take your "huge profit" at the 40$? I guess not.

Kings of paper gains - the biggest losers of all bubbles - thats your club mate.

Once again. I still think that 100$ target is possible but only if whole crypto industry will recover from this outstanding correction (BTC did 40% amplitude daily candle - the bloodiest day starting from covid panic sell). If thats the begining of bear market for whole crypto industry and next bull run will start after 3 years - you never know what technology we will have that day. You cant be sure that in 2025 cake will still be BSC swap leader. If that's the begining of bear market - we may never see 40$ for cake again. If not ... every token/coin will moon, even shitcoins, so will cake do. Is it rational to bet on that? I think its not.

KNC ATH was at 4.3$ so it looks like you created limit sell order 1.5$ above ATH and thats the reason why "your" USDT is not available. Your order was not filled so you still own KNC that is currently worth 2.5$, not USDT. Go to your assets site and check if your KNC balance is empty, if your USDT balance is visible there and if you have any open (unfilled) orders.
