hello everybody Smiley. I discover crypto world to late I guess Angry I am searching some good crypto to invest fiat money Grin. I like bitcoin, but why I feel I am going to take huge risk if I invest in btc? anyway I'm going to  buy  some.... do you thing btc is elite coin still ....? after the big bubble this thing looks very unstable...damn. my brother invest in gold ,but I like crypto so I probably continue my research....any advise guys? Smiley

You should probably own some just dont get carried away and be prepared to lose all of the money that you put into it. Its one of those high risk high reward sorts of deals. You probably will lose your money but if you dont than you probably will do well enough to make up for the fact that you probably will lose your money.

That's like saying the government stopped illegal drug activity completely by "shutting down SR", now look creator is about to get off clean...and there is 3 new ones popping up each time one is shut down...same with torrent sites. lol

What makes you think "creator is about to get off clean"?

The Gentleperson's Guide To Forum Spies (spooks, feds, etc.)

That was a very interesting read. I know these people are out there. As i understand it governments have admitted to domestic counter intelligence operations in some capacity. However i have never actually seen anyone that I had any good reason to suspect was one of these people. Interested in making a thread for discussing this? It's pretty off topic here so we better keep it brief in this thread.

To the forum I am technically a newbie (been lurking since 2010) but think you are spot on with your suggestion to create a thread about this topic.  We should stop accusing each other of being paranoid or conspiracy theorists.  By now we can easily find many examples of things that make government shills in key forums look like a given.  I don't even know if I can start a thread.  Would be nice to have a spot where we can burn the witches, kind of... Or at least catalogue and acknowledge the characteristics of the witches.  Knowledge is power.

I found it to be a very interesting read. I have personally never encountered anyone that I thought was an intelligence operative but I am open minded. If you know of someone who you believe is a counter intelligence operative, make your best case. Alternatively I'll leave this thread open to more general discussion on this topic.

Turning on moderation just to have it as an option in case I decide later but I don't plan on using it.

I can empathize with how hard it must have been to see those chinese wonglords rip you off and sell your work at a lower price precisely because they had added no value what so ever. I'm willing to forgive. Thanks for reversing your decision.
2127  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [ESHOP launched] Trezor: Bitcoin hardware wallet on: January 29, 2015, 03:22:05 PM
We all know its not fair what those jerks in china are doing. We understand how you feel. You did so much work to produce this product, work that has to be built into the price of the product its self, and by using your hard work they can just charge cost for the hardware and make a profit while undercutting you. But threatening to use the state to attack people for using your code? That's not acceptable behavior in a civilized society.

You likely noticed significant improvement of performce while myTREZOR retrieves balances.
The reason is an upgrade of the back end. Have fun.

The speed wasn't the biggest problem, the fact that it almost never worked when needed however was.

Either you must be very unlucky or I very lucky because I use my trezor several times a day since release and mytrezor.com has only failed me twice in all that time. Which was pretty annoying ill grant but quite a bit less of a problem than what you described.

You can count me to the lucky ones as well, because my trezor worked out of the box without a flaw...

Pretty sure that it is platform dependent, luck is not a factor. Most likely the JS execution of your browser is the major determinant.

I'm using a chrome browser in privacy mode.

Firefox here

2130  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Study: Everyone hates environmentalists and feminists on: January 25, 2015, 05:44:14 PM
The modern feminist movement was started by the US Central Intelligence Agency through their financial support of Gloria Steinem. Yes she was a paid government stooge.

Why you may ask? What would make the CIA want to be involved in such matters? The answer was simple. The social engineers in government saw that the traditional family unit of the man being the bread winner and the mom being a housewife was under-utilizing the tax base. Through the 'empowerment of women' they got out of the home and got jobs and paid income tax. Yes income tax - the driving force behind the feminism.

Telling this to a Femnazi gets their panties in a bunch. When they find out it's the truth their head explodes.

EDIT: Figured I had better leave proof of this before someone calls bullshit.

https://www.google.ca/#q=Gloria+Steinem+funded+by+cia
Don't forget feminism was closely involved in the prohibitionist movement. Clearly that worked well. Unfortunately as a result we still suffer from "The Drug War", and we all know how much the CIA loves "The Drug War" seeing as it is their primary funding method.

You have a good head on your shoulders.

Interested in this project. How does the proof of stake work? Are people selected deterministically but unpredictably like in NXT or does it use something more like coindays like peercoin or something else? Was the mining process open and transparent? Was there an ipo or was it all mined? Was there any premine? Do messages go on the blockchain? If so are they there for ever or have the devs figured out some sort of method of pruning messages while keeping transactions? More questions to come but this should do for starters. I've been waiting to see POS cryptonote since im a big fan of both Smiley.

Does anyone know if there are any other cryptonote currencies ahead of or near monero in capitalization?

There are no other cryptonote-based coins in the top 100 on coinmarketcap besides XMR and BCN.

SDC uses a cryptonote-based design for their anonymous tokens, which is a bit different in terms of coin design and doesn't share code but the cryptography is almost identical.

Thanks so much! I'm very interested in cryptonote more generally rather than monero specifically, im here because monero has the most traction, but im interested in anything else that has some traction and uses cryptonote also. So I'll have to look into sdc.

They will tell you it isn't cryptonote because they want to market it as something brand new and completely unique. And indeed it is (as far as I know) an independent implementation, but it uses one time ring signatures with key images and stealth addresses, so make up your own mind on the matter. I've already given my opinion.

Do you have any personal opinions on SDC? Seeing as you have studied it at least some amount. They make a lot of promises. If it delivers on half of them it should be valued higher than it is so that looks atleast a little suspicious.

I think you should probably ask in their thread.

Ask smooth a question in their thread? Why should i expect him to see it there?

u don't trust

?

I trust it. I just don't know which of those are cryptonote platforms. I looked at the cryptonote website and compared that list to the coinmarketcap but for all i know there could be some newer platforms that are missing from the cryptonote website. Thats the only reason i asked.

I didn't asked you to send it to original account. It's up to me where to get a refund. I don't have access to that account. You've spoiled my money.

If you did not wish for me to return the funds to the address from which they came, perhaps you might have considered saying something to this effect. To quote you directly:

Hello!
I want my BTC back.

I truly am sorry that you lost your bitcoins. However nothing that I have done in this case has demonstrated even the slightest bit of lack of trustworthiness. It is not as if I am able to derive any benefit from the bitcoins that are now stored on the private key that formerly belonged to you. Neither do I believe this demonstrates a lack of responsibility since, under the circumstances, my interpretation of your message was quite reasonable.
