Really starting to feel like we are putting in a bottom. Question is, do I trust my judgement enough to go all in. (not all in all in just all out on bitcoin) Life is full of such hard decisions.
1262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: September 19, 2016, 06:33:28 PM
wow when i read your post i remember that i have a monerowallet with some monero in it but after some time i deleted the simple wallet (total harddrive) and now all i have is a paper with 24 worths written on it , did that mean i can get back my monero???

can you please tell me how to use "Mnemonic Seed words to restore it".

too bad monero lost my attention , but now it is time to want them back

First make sure the daemon is all synched up. Then run simplewallet with the flag
Code:
--restore-deterministic-wallet
Once your wallet is restored you may need to refresh or rescan the blockchain depending.

Thats from memory. If I didn't get all the details right I'm sure I atleast pointed you in the right direction. Remember you can almost always run a CLI application with the flag --help for help.

Wolfram Warptangent

Why couldn't my parents name me something like that?
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 19, 2016, 04:03:33 PM
although the price has continued to drop big time?

That is a reason to buy not a reason not to buy. Cheesy

I hope that the authors are ready to shoot a sequel.

The spin off is quite good.

Make sure you use escrow and verify the identity of the escrow provider here on bitcointalk.
Thanks for the links, checked the forum, I am not ready to pay whole BTC just to try out IOTA that seems to have some flaws still.
Will try slack later, thank you.

Im not allowed to tell you to post an address. So what ever you do do not post an address. But if you did blasphemously disobey me I imagine some deviant of ill repute would send you a small sum to "try out". AND I CONDEMN THAT PERSON. SHAME. SHAME.

Apparently its against the rules to encourage someone to post an address Roll Eyes

Not for an intelligence agency engaged in black ops. That by its very nature has to be a cash or cash like only kind of deal.

Yea I don't suppose the CIA accepts checks for Afghani heroin. Perhaps my argument was not good.
1268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 18, 2016, 11:57:30 PM
I am quite certain that significant deep state actors will use Monero.  In general, intelligence communities would prefer to control the medium, and I think zcash may play this role, but in the end they will need liquidity, and monero is the only pool of substantial anonymous liquidity.  There are diverse intelligence communities in varying interrelationships.  Most will not use a platform potentially controlled by a possible rival.  It will be in their interest to facilitate the expansion of Monero as against any upstart.  While overt political actors may gain by opposing Monero, the reins of power are more tightly held by covert actors, and they will effectively support it.

Maybe but I think there may be a problem with your analysis in failing to account for how much more private the legacy banking system is for them than it is for us. Not as private as monero for either party, to be sure, but since the legacy banking system is so much more private for them than it is for us, monero represents a much higher value proposition to us than it does to them. And I think there is certainly a sense in which they think of the public as their enemy. So perhaps they are not willing to give us such a great increase in capabilities in exchange for a more marginal increase in their own.

A separate thread should be made for this conversation. We are all guilty of going a little off topic but its getting out of hand Cheesy

The very first time I ever heard the word "Bitcoin" it was uttered by max keiser. That was all the way back in 2010. He is a bit of a bafoon to be sure but I owe this man such a debt. Anyway monero is on his radar now apparently. Grin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9gEtncAUDs

It would be great if Max can help push Monero price to the highest level.  Grin

Maybe. But it might be too early for that still.

The military is not all violent. I work with doctors, engineers, nurses, dentists. We do dental, medical, and other kinds of civil-military operations, to the poorest people of many regions in my country.

As for the banks, they only know what I let them know about me, just enough for me to borrow what I need.

And I'm sure the mafia helps old ladies across the street sometimes too Roll Eyes

What do you think? Is this finally it guys. Have we finally found support? This pattern doesn't quite match anything we have seen yet in this down trend.

We've now broken the pattern... But is it just one big buyer and then we resume the float towards or actual trend reversal.  Our volume will help tell that story I think.

But with folks Max Kaiser waking up to monero is just a matter of time before...

... China

Lets get fluffy pony on the keiser report Cheesy. Really I bet it wouldn't be that hard at all to make it happen. Or maybe there is more value in keeping a low profile.

If this were a poker hand it would be the kind that is a mistake to slow play.

If FP reached out to him in my estimation there is a 90% chance max would be into it.

Remove.

If you don't mind me asking. Why?

Bandwidth consumption with PD is not sustainable for most users. Another option is to keep PD and configure a limit for inbound/outbound peers but I don't know if this is a viable solution.

Snapshotting. In my understanding old .iri files can be deleted to keep the size of the locally observed tangle somewhat manageable. With PD this is not possible, the size of the files have to grow to infinity, though my knowledge on this particular issue is extremely limited Smiley

oh oh oh i thought you were telling him to remove the post Cheesy

In other news:  Due to my uncontrollable love of boats I bought @ 0.015 Tongue  If it gets to rpietilla's speculation of 0.01 that will feel like 0.001

I think rpietila was being ironic about 0.01, but I'm no longer very confident in my ability to discern internet irony.

At ~ 0.01 is when I triple down and blow the very last of my dry powder. I suspect others feel the same way.
