a part of me is thinking "well, if it's either investor or nothing..." hmm.

i love the sound of this more and more. i'd love to help out if i can.

i say do both. two games. one permanent, one that resets. thus people who want to can knowingly take the big risks, and those who just want a game can have that too.

so, to make sure i understand that correctly: you are currently not planning on selling anything, but are developing something for... self-mining? or something else?

if you want to make it obvious to geeks that the address is fake, try putting any of the following in the address: 0 O I l
This is like fake IP addresses in the movies like 198.60.280.32. The number 280 isn't a valid octet for an IP address, but to non-techies, it doesn't look out of place.
I was going to suggest the same thing. If you are writing it on cardboard, though, 0 or O could easily be mistaken for o (which he has on his sign). And I or l could be mistaken for 1. So you really have to go out of your way: perhaps put a slash through a zero, or make the "I" with prominent horizontal lines. That would achieve exactly what the OP is trying to achieve - make it unable to be used, while it still looks to the novice like a real address. Then again, this isn't like "867-5309", where the holder of the number is penalized severely when the number appears in the mainstream culture. Which is why I would go back to my original proposal and pick some "random" number, say 1P faKe9tFitNrUFjht4DNvVkmjEFCo3sYs, for everyone to use as the preferred fake. Yeah, that's a plan! And it looks unused too! https://blockchain.info/address/1PfaKe9tFitNrUFjht4DNvVkmjEFCo3sYs . (Are you buying this yet?) ya know, just for being so ballsy... *sends .001 btc to 1PfaKe9tFitNrUFjht4DNvVkmjEFCo3sYs*

i think it'd be wise to start smaller - a lower priced physical item, that is. i mean that car is what, 50k usd or something? why not an item for a few hundred first, or a couple grand? maybe a big tv?

to the "how'd you hear about bitcoin?"
was playing eve online, and used to regularly listen to the webcast radio that's fan run, eve-radio.com (still do sometimes, some great dj's) and one of them was talking about bitcoin. this was something like sept 2011. he wasn't all that hot on it, but piqued my interest. i lurked here for a while, installed the client, mined on an nvidia gpu (yea, i know.) and lin may 2012 got an AMD card that's currently warming my feet nicely. paid for itself several times over now... i've been barely scrapping by work wise, so i've been unable to expand or get into ASIC chaos, though i am watching it intently.

So what? You'll keep 240 units and mining yourself? I see network hashrate bumping tonight.
of all the things said in this thread, i must congratulate you sir. your's is by far the most insanely nonsensical. where did you ever get anything about 240 units or self mining?

DANG IT! i had this same idea months ago, but had no way to implement it. well done.

i find myself holding two copies of the valve strategy game DOTA 2. looks like current steam price is 30 USD, so how's .75 btc sound? (approximating $15 usd given current insane rising prices)

I have a RepRap MendelMax, I could print something for you in ABS (recommended if it is going in your pockets). I only have a single extruder fitted to my machine (I only have single material at a time capability at the moment). Your design, as it looks from the screenshot would be quite hard to print, it will definitively require support structures, those leave marks. With a sanding, heat gun treatement and an acetone vapor treatement, I could probably pull it off. PM me if you are interested. Make me an offer ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) . I will only expect any payment after you are satisfied (pictures, shipped, etc...). Here are my Thingiverse credentials: http://www.thingiverse.com/jothan/designsand this is precisely why i don't like RepRaps. without support structures, it's really limited as a 3d printer. shapeways offers printing in nylon based plastics (selective laser sintering of powder) a sandstone like material and steel (printing glue into a powder) and a few others too. great results, i've found. for now, jothan, i'll pass. (besides, i don't have any money to pay you...)

carrying a credit card instead of cash is the opposite of my vision of a bitcoin philosophy, especially the anonymity part. If it wasn't for my driving license I'd prefer to carry cash only and a bitcoin enabled card / device / smartphone.
I carry for safety a 50 or 100$ bill folded into a hidden part of my wallet.
Looking at your design, I'd offset that curved clip so we could drag the card out with a finger.
the back is just a border, so there's plenty of space to grab a card that way. though come to think of it, i want ot put my ID there so i don't have to take it out to show it... hmm. i'll think on this. if this is meant to be put in your back pocket you might want to round out the edges.
i keep my wallet in my front pocket, personally. and they are rounded, .3mm on each edge. the walls are only 1mm thick, so i could do much more without compromising strength or thickening it up, which would increase cost. ideally, i'd order one myself and test it before i actually offered it for sale. shame i'm broke, eh? Are you using Rhino 3d?
Would love to get a good copy of it. I cant afford to buy it. :p
nope, 3ds max. started using it was back in the late 90's in highschool, stuck with it since. AWESOME.
I will be printing one as soon as I can...
brilliant!

adam who constitutes a speculator?
anyone buying in hope of one day taking profit ( by selling for USD or buying things with bitcoin directly ) if they buy and hold in hopes of making some kind of profit they are speculating in other words everyone! when the ball drops we all get greedy, cuz we know, we are all in too deep ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) not me! i only have 1.25 btc or so! hah! ...dang it!

Dude, that's clever!
thanks! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I like it. Wallets are way too big and clunky and soon enough will be a thing of the past. The only thing I don't like is the curved plastic strips on the back, I would like it better if it were entirely solid or straight strips. Still though, pretty cool - nice work.
thanks, fair critique. i could upload another version with straight strips (solid back would increase cost) easily, if there's any purchasing interest. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) and have! see? easy. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) i'm might try and put another bitcoin logo on the back and see how that looks.
