tandard server power supply, so if you accounted for that with fan control pinouts to the circuit board i'de think it would be a simple firmware update. assuming of course that was done, no clue why it wouldn't be done with all the other build out and planning.
We can control the fans and PSU fans (via I2C), just need to develop and test a proper control loop.

Do you have a ballpark quote for hosting per each kW used per month?
Working on it. The quote will be per month.
|
|
|
Regarding hosting: You'll be able to order now and add the hosting option later. The shipment cost will be credited towards the hosting. Hosting will allow full control of your machine. At any point, you may decide to terminate hosting and to ship the machine or just disconnect it. If you'll decide to host, the burn-in tests will be to your wallet. Only 6 bundles left for April + July Go http://buyminer.io

I'll run it on silent, I expect that otherwise the neighbors will complain about the noise.
Today is quite hot in Israel... Will be fixed and pushed via OTA firmware upgrade. The miner will able to select quite mode (including PSU fans)
|
|
|
Umm so we can order a combo now and get it hosted at your facilities instead of shipping? I would be interested in that option if you can provide some estimation of hosting prices.
Yes. We're finalizing the prices these days. Stay tuned, it will be less than KNC for sure. In addition, you won't need to bare shipping + VAT where applicable.

Once the PSU gets sorted then it will be quieter than a gen 1 Avalon, louder than my cooling modded gen 1 Avalon but potentially the same noise level as an Antminer.
We're checking the PSU fans issue. If possible, we'll release firmware upgrade reducing the fans speed. The PSU has a thermal sensor, so we might be able to have a control loop in firmware through the I2C. WIP

|
Its that noisy?
We're working to reduce fans and PSU fans speed. In ambient temperature of 20C, the unit should produce at least 1.4 TH/s with bearable noise level. We're still tweaking the firmware. In addition, we'll offer very competitive hosting plans. The customer will have full control over his/her unit and will be able to decide to ship it at anytime

website down?
TANGO DOWN!: Uh-oh! It looks like something broke. We’ve been notified and will have the problem fixed as soon as possible Hopefully they fix the website soon The website was down for a few minutes but is back up now. We are working with Shopify to understand what the problem was. Thank you for you patience everyone.

Hello. I would like to know if you guys have any problems shipping to the U.S and more specifically to Hawaii. I plan on buying around 3 Power packs for the next batch. This will be my first purchase of a miner ever and the rep meter on you guys is skyrocketing. If I could even get some kind of discount on them, maybe even 4 power packs. Thank you.
Yes, we do ship to Hawaii. Please contact us at sales@spondoolies-tech.com for inquiries on large quantities.

The April batch will be shipped beginning of April (April 1st) Correct?
Production will start on the 6th. We're working to expedite the ASICs shipment. Most of the systems will be shipped by the 15th. May we have two ASICs shipments, 6th and 20th. This is why the current May batch is tagged "Early" We'll produce as fast as possible and ship after the minimal 1 day burning test needed. In case of hosting, the burning will be to the customer wallet of course. In case of shipping, we'll find a charity wallet to do the burn-in towards.

I presume the noise is related to the amount of heat being produced within a small area. Maybe try adding a desk fan, see if noise relates to room temp
Adding fan won't help. Our recommendation will be to host in a data center. We'll provide easy way to configure remote access. In addition, we'll offer competitive hosting plans from Mid April.
|
|
|
Any timeframe to accept hosting?
Mid April. Data center is ready. Software not.

How come the wire transfers are sent to a Erste Group Bank account in Czech Republic?
Problems with the Israeli banks. Work in progress to solve it.

Do you have overheat protection feature in the firmware (shutting miner off automatically, or better yet auto adjust individual chips) ?
Yes, of course, we do DVFS on the ASICs. One of the DVFS parameter is the individual ASIC temperature. (We have temperature sensors on the ASICs, AC2DC (PSU), DC2DC and three on the PCBs) If you do, is it configurable ? ( adjusting temp threshold)
No, but we'll have all the source code opened. Changing the default firmware will void warranty of course. We do allow different mining modes with the default firmware, which results in different power consumption.

Do the heat sinks mount directly to the chassis to provide more efficient active cooling in e.g. liquid cooled racks / fully contained cabinets?
Our systems are designed for air flow cooling. It doesn't require any exotic cooling infrastructure, liquid or others. It can be used in a data center environment and in others environment. Remote admin is possible for users interested in hosting the machine in a data center. We'll provide our own competitive hosting plans soon.

I just spent 20 minutes searching on that pdf a single 1200W reference. Nothing.
Again, the unit supports up to 1250W. This is after validating it with Emerson and thoroughly testing in our lab. RoadStress, you're welcome to Israel. We'll do a comprehensive system DR if you're interested. I just don't understand why you are claiming to be designed for 1200w. Why aren't you using the DS1200 model?
There is no need to use DS1200 which costs more.

The temp is the chip temp?
Yes Many of them is quite high compared to what i'm used to.... 113c?
The ASICs are designed to work up to 125C. The SW is limiting them to 119C Whats your ambient temp?
I'm testing the unit at my room, which is quite hot now. I guess above 28C Whats your recommendation for hosting environment?
It depends on whether the environment support free cooling. In Israel it doesn't, so the recommendation is 22C Max ambient temperature is 35C Does having fans at the front help?
Additional fans are unnecessary. You won't gain anything from adding them.

When do you plan to tape-out the RockerBox?
End of April, beginning of May. Samples in beginning of July. Same team that did the hammer. I see that you are avoiding the temperatures questions. Will try again. What is the temperature of the Hammer ASIC chip while running? What is your estimation on the temperature of the RockerBox?
Already replied, but I wanted to give you screenshots. I'm testing Meni's unit before hand delivering it later tonight. This is how the UI is looking (based on the amazing MinePeon work by Neil Fincham. Enjoy your soon to arrive unit Neil. Big thank you): Again, we still have some bugs to root out, but the basics is working very good. Including OTA firmware upgrade developed by us. (SP30 will use the same TI Processor, so all the SW except the ASICs specific code will remain the same. Big plus) This is the ASICs status at the moment I took the UI snapshot: We're using DVFS ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamic_frequency_scaling) to squeeze the most of the ASICs and system. We'll fine tune the algorithm to give better results in the near future.

What is the temperature of SP10 chips and what temperatures do you estimate to have for SP30 chips?
In both cases the max Tj=125c. we design both system to allow the die working temperature to be up to 125c To reduce leakage, we keep the temperature by sw control below 119 In the picture that you posted regarding the PSU there are no technical specs. There are only Environmental Specifications. Nothing about Ampers and Watts. You are the first company in the bitcoin mining field that draws more power than the PSU can handle. I just don't understand it and while on SP30 the overhead is low, in the SP10 the overhead is 30% which i find it pretty big.
The official DS1050 rated power is 1050W but the actual value the PSU was designed is 1200w. After consulting with Emerson, to achieve max performance, we wallow to draw almost 1250w form the PSU. We tested it and the systems in our lab runs under those conditions. The PSU have built-in over current and overheat shutdown mechanism that protect itself and the system. You can find the spec here: http://www.emersonnetworkpower.com/documents/en-us/products/embeddedpower/documents/documentationarchive/technicaldocumentation/01/trn_ac-dc_ds1050-3_release1_0_1312516765_techref.pdf
