EDIT: I understand running a new business is difficult and when things dont work out its even tougher. You will always do better by being upfront and communicating promptly. keep up your efforts and communicate more, it would be nice to see you succeed.

We're communicating. We don't want to give inaccurate information. Stabilizing new system and new firmware takes time. Stress testing the systems also takes time.
I repeat my original request, please be patient.

Google translate version:

Are you going to give customers the opportunity to cancel and refund before shipping since the hardware is not quite up to spec. If you are shipping this week we need to know the actual performance now.

Could you please use English if posting in this section. If English is difficult for you, please post with both your original language and at the very least a google translate copy (it seems Google translate does a fine job with Hebrew).

Absolutely, sorry to break the rules. Spondoolies is based in Israel so i thought it polite to ask potentially difficult questions in hebrew. I see politeness is not highly regarded here so i will ask in english from now on.>>>

Spondoolies,
You were unable to meet your promises of hardware performance and promised more info in two days; that info has not been supplied. Now you say you will ship and then provide info, that's not good enough, you need to tell purchasers how bad/good the performance and efficiency degradation is before you ship and give an opportunity to refund or you are no better than any of the other pre-order scams.

Once again, we'll release all the info soon, before shipping. Including our compensation plan.
If you have specific issue with your order, you're welcome to email sales@

Edit:
When I've used "couple of days" in the original posting, I've meant few days, not literally couple.

The source was English, he/she used google translate to Hebrew for some reasons.

As I already wrote, please be patient. We'll start to ship the SP30s this week and release the information regarding current batches, next batches and compensation.

To sooth the rumours about current situation between Israel and Gaza Strip I recommend watching YT news clip by Vice News called "Life Under Israel's Iron Dome: Rockets and Revenge (Dispatch 3)".

According to Israeli military about 90% of rockets fired by Hamas are intercepted.

Iron Dome intercepts only rockets that are destined to hit populated area. Of those rockets, 90% are actually being destroyed.

If each chip pulls double the wattage that it was supposed to, do you think they made sure that the copper layers in the PCB can handle the extra load? Can the rest of the components handle the extra load?
...
Please avoid rumors and speculations. We'll release all the information in few days. Let us complete testing and firmware tuning.
I can share that we have stable systems (plural) in our labs. There is not PCB issue, etc. We've designed with enough headroom.
We'll ship the orders on time.

I can also share that we're zeroing on the issue and it's a TSMC production issue.
Future batches (October) will meet our desired spec.

RawDog,
I'm usually a very patient guy, but we're busy now. Please go troll other thread.

Many customers also opted for the hosting groupbuy. Will the effective running cost per TH stay the same on that?

I would propose setting the chips to a low enough speed so the advertised W/GH is met, and shipping additional units to get to the total ordered hashrate.

Your suggestions are fair.
Regarding the group buy hosting cost, we'll decide later after we'll publish the final spec.
Regarding your second suggestion, unfortunately, we can't do that. We're aiming to give the maximum compensation to all the customers, with our limited resources.
1451  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 23, 2014, 05:29:04 PM
friedcat promised 0.3W/GH and it turned to be 1.1W/GH/Wall

your results missed expectations by big margin or small ?

thanks

Not that miss ...
Again, please be patient. We'll release all the information, including root cause analysis.

1452  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 23, 2014, 05:21:41 PM
@spondoolies

Does the lower performance corelate with a higher W/GH or will you be able to keep that as advertised?

Lower performance and higher W/GHs as a result (to partially compensate)
Please be patient and allow us few days of testing before sharing hard data.

1453  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: July 23, 2014, 05:13:27 PM
Dear Customers,

As you know, Spondoolies-Tech is committed to delivering superior products and the highest levels of customer service and support. That’s why I wanted to communicate with you as early as possible about a concern we've identified with our new ASIC and mining rigs.

The situation is this: After receiving the first batch of RockerBox ASICs, our initial results show a lower hash rate than expected.
Our highest concern is to ensure the best possible experience for our customers. Therefore until we can evaluate the significance of this development, we are temporarily suspending sales of the SP 30 mining rigs.

At this time, our Engineering Team is conducting thorough analysis and testing in order to figure out the precise technical details. We will release the results of our analysis, along with updated product specs, in a couple of days, once we’ll have hard data to share with you.
We believe we understand the reason for the lower hash-rate, but we want to make sure before we release the information.

Spondoolies-Tech stands behind its commitment to our customers. Therefore in the coming weeks we expect to adjust prices accordingly, and announce a compensation plan for those who have already placed orders.

We want to stress that delivery date will not be affected by this issue.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause our customers. At the same time, we want to reassure you that all products that we ship will continue to meet the very high standards our customers have come to expect.

Thank you for your patience as we gather further information and formulate a plan of action.

We look forward to continuing and strengthening the relationship we have with our customers. If there is anything else that we can do to minimize your inconvenience in regard to this matter, please do not hesitate to contact us. Please note that in response to this development we are expanding our customer service department — and we apologize in advance for any delays in responding to your queries.

Again, we regret any inconvenience caused as a result, and we thank you for your continued loyalty.

Sincerely,

Guy Corem

strange is no official response there at forum,
no response from ticket system/www form,
customer service is not responding...

after getting millions of dollars from preorders they have stopped any communication.

another case of miners screwed by preorders?

why not to buy from stock?

Patient please, we're busy.

Are the chips already in hand?
We're getting the ASICs on Tuesday

... Source for lower leakage on 28nm? ...
TSMC 28HPM process has much lower leakage than 40G process. For instance the same 2-input NAND gate using standard Vt transistors in 28HPM has 5 times less leakage. This ratio is consistent for most of the cells. The leakage is maximal at high temperatures effectively doubling every 10C-20C. In addition to it 28HPM has more transistors options with smaller Leff transistors for higher speed (and higher leakage) and higher Leff (slower but less leaky) which can be used for lower speed parts. Smart mixing of all different available Leff sizes allows additional leakage reduction while increasing speed.

btw:
AM (BitQuan) still didn't tapeout their 28nm effort. Long wait until dividends ...  Grin

@spondoolies

How do you guarantee that all 30 chips work?
Do you just power up the unit and look whether all report hashing?

Also, please make sure that no chips get disconnected during shipment again.
While I was not too worried by my 9 disconnected chips in my sp10, I would be very worried if I received an sp30 with some of the 200GH chips not working.

Finally, is the WA hosting facility ready to receive the first miners once you start shipping?
Apart from one email about the offer, there isn´t any information about chosing this hosting package on your website.

For the blind assembly ASICs, some indeed may not work. We'll build more machines than what we sold and we'll ship only machines that meet the spec.
For later machines, the ASICs will undergo testing and sorting.

The WA hosting facility is ready, we'll charge for the 6 months period soon.

Getting ready to receive the ASICs
SP30 driver code is already in Con's cgminer repository: https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/pull/631
Nice.

What is the date for receiving the first packaged samples?

Very soon Wink
