I think it is a good sign that AC is experimenting with these designs.

However, the first really profitable implementation should be with the sp30s, as they are much more power efficient.

Indeed.

It be great to get some numbers on the SP10 especially can you overclock the snot out of the Hammer chips in the Novec even laying flat? Or do we all have to wait for Inside Bitcoin Hong Kong to learn more about the potential? I can't wait to get to Allied Control and check all these things out.

Curiosity!

AC will publish the ASIC page soon. Take into account that it's just initial testing and not tuned for performance yet.

Disclaimer: We don't really know what AM designed. We're just looking at the IC video published by AC

That is interesting video right there...

Those chips don't seem to get the Novec vapourizing much. Speaks well to the SP10 as an air cooled unit. SP30 board be keen to see that.

Quick introduction, since this will be my fist post here. I am a work colleague of antirack, and I am the one that have been doing the setups for this "lab" tests.

I have been running the SP10 for quite a while now, it works great, just not very optimal circumstances for the boards as they had to be placed horizontal and heat dissipation side down. Hence also a bit tricky to get a good recording of the action, if you so will.

Short explanation: Unlike AM Gen3, we designed the our 1st gen ASIC (Hammer) to dissipate the heat downward, which is far better for QFN package, in our opinion.

Isn't it a mistake to design a QFN package to do anything but (mostly) dissipate downwards?

Gross mistake, IMHO

Some more SP30 pictures Benny took. Still missing the ASICs ...
We'll bring one demo unit to Inside Bitcoins HK 2014

... I'm noticing that you are stepping down from full radiators to individual chip radiators. ...

Hammers - QFN, the heat dissipate downward
RockerBox - Flip Chip BGA, the heat dissipate upward. Because of mechanical stress concerned, we preferred not to mount one heat sink above all the ASICs. The thermal coupling might have been problematic

so.. do people who have already made the purchased get to choose which type of PSU to ship with?

or it's completely random?

Cheers,
QG

Random

How long to get the host mining after buying the SP30 ?

Hosting will start after your physical device will be manufactured in September.

No intention to spread fud as Spondoolies delivers hq hardware and has the best customer support I'm aware of.

They were very fast with shipping in the past, so I was a little confused about the fact that some miners will be shipped more than one week after this date. If it has been communicated clearly, ok fine, I missed that part - sorry and thanks for pointing out.

All "immediate shipping" paid miners were shipped.
We've started to ship "Mid June" batch and will do so continuously until the end of the month.
No delays.

... I assume the values on btcguild were lower because of bad luck ...

btcguild bad luck won't affect the hash rate you see. It will affect the payouts only.

can we have a status update on June batch please? thanks

Didn't you hear the news, they sold all remaining Sp-10 to Taras [LNU].

Biodom, I have an order for 2 SP10 from June batch, i guess you were just too late. that's how it is mucker  Cheesy
a s-t-a-t-u-s update - you perceive this to mean something other than a s-t-a-t-u-s update.

Don't act so butt-hurt about it.

hey, i am hurt about it because i communicated with them on saturday night and was given no indication that I have to do it in BTC that very moment and when I was about to go to the bank on Monday am and was checking the forum-boom, they had sold it.

"Callum decided to call his father-in-law the "Exorcist" because every time he came to visit he made the spirits disappear"

Biodom, the sold-out was very fast due to several large orders we got. We didn't expect it either. On Saturday night we had solid stock.

Regards,
Guy

Quote from: FAQ - rack installation guidelines.docxfrom Guy Corem (Spondoolies-Tech)

The height of the Miner is 1.25U but standard 1U rack mount ears may fit

Can we use these or these?

Kobi's reply:
It’s hard to tell as the mechanical details of the holes and the screws are missing.
It seems to me that the “One Space (1U) Rack Mount Bracket (Ear)MCM Part #: 555-13214  |  Penn Elcom Part #: R1206/1U” won’t fit while the “Cisco STK-RACKMOUNT-1RU Rackmount Brackets” seems to fit.
Please verify the screws are #6-32 x 3/8”.
In addition, those mounting brackets are not adjustable so please pay attention to the SP10 depth which is 475mm and the rack rails distance

Small number of shipping will be today.
More on Monday and Wednesday or Thursday next week.

Thank you, I think I'm getting it.  The "collateral" in question is actually a part of a separate deal you have made with Spondoolies, unrelated to this IPO.  Not sure why Spondoolies chose to present your pre-order payment as "collateral," ...

Indeed, "collateral" was a poor choice of word, and I regret it.
I've explained the exact situation here:

We know both and we did the matching after it was apparent that the SP10s will be sold out and we won't be able to fulfill subsequent rounds after the first round.
We've met face 2 face with two of the people involved with Cowboyminer operation and indeed they're very nice and professionals.

They bought a lot of SP30 from us, which we will provide on time and on spec to them. The $ used as down payment is the collateral I've meant.
I'm sure they'll fulfill their obligation to sell hosted hash even without the fact the we hold substantial amount of their $
As explained, the deal is air tight and every successful round will be fulfilled fast by Cowboyminer. The first round is on us.

The basic facts remain the same:

- cbcm is legit
- Cowboyminer facility and operation is ready to activate the needed hash power immediately after each successful round
- The first round, assuming it will be successful, will be covered by 35 SP10s hosted by us
- After each successful round, Havelock will release the funds to cbcm who will buy with them miners and hosting services from Cowboyminer (subsequent rounds) or from us (first round only)
- The deal is airtight and the hash power will be provided

Last time I'm writing it: I'm not endorsing the IPO. Every prospect investor should do his/her own ROI calculations and decide if he/she wants to participated.
Our cut of this IPO is insignificant on our bottom line and demanded too much of my attention already.

No your just renting hashes from him

Not true. Cowboyminer sell some of his miners and afterwards provides hosting services to cbcm
We do the same with the first round, and might do it in additional cbcm offerings, assuming we'll have in stock miners.

cowboy miner is not the one I thought he is but, he is a very nice and was extremely helpful. He has been around for a very long time and explained to me the situation.

Cowboy mining is just selling Hashes, they have not provided 0$ or any equipment in escrow. He does not know the OP or anything about him.
