bump ,... are you guys gonna work thro the weekend to ship out April batch next Monday?
ASICs arrived, started SMT.
April batch shipping will start early next week.

hilarious so you admit that it doesn't make sense for customers to pay for hosting/cloud hashing in Israel but you'll sell it at a profit anyway
We don't profit from it. It enable us to sell more miners. Check electricity price in Israel, VAT (on US) and do the math.
I don't see any options on your website to order/pay for miners to run from a DC? How does it happen?
Indeed, too much posts on this thread. Back to ours. We've published the price today. The web site is being updated. April batch can contact us.
Please continue your questions on our thread.

For the last time:
We're manufacturing of mining equipment. Not farmers. It doesn't make sense to mine in Israel - uneconomical.
We're good at ASIC and board design. The operational aspects involved with large scale mining is out of our expertise.

You're welcome to visit our state of the art DC in Israel. No water cooling, very efficient air cooling.
Both statements are true.
Our DC will be used by our customers miners only.
We don't mine for ourselves.

PUE?
1.3
Very good for air cooling, nothing close to immerse cooling of course. Our design goal was to support customers miners, while creating very dense and efficient miner.
Give a customer choice - host at home / garage, our DC or every other co-location in the world (for small quantities).

IMHO putting 30 Spooners in one rack is a non-starter.
Because of the heat density you would have to spread them amongst racks.
Most ordinary racks can not dissipate more than about 10KW with the doors closed without some serious (i.e. expensive) cooling solurtion (water cooling, sealed hot/cold aisle, high volume air flow, etc.).
Also, most data centres are not designed to handle that kind of spot heat output (I worked in data centres for 36 years).
Sorry, big generalisation here as I do not know your precise circumstances, but when I watched their video when they said you could put 30 in one rack I split my sides laughing.  Grin

As a temporary solution, we've set the primary domain to be http://spondoolies.myshopify.com
Please try to access this URL or just http://spminer.io

Anyway, shopify or whatever is not of my concern, i simply see that the website is almost unreachable. Changing the DNS when i want to reach this or this website is simply not a viable solution.
You're correct. We need to track down and solve this problem.
Setting DNS to Google servers is a good practice anyway. You won't need to change back after visiting our store.
2089  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 02, 2014, 01:35:44 PM
That user was me Wink

It's not the DNS. Indeed changing the DNS did help, but after this I contacted my ISP. They use exactly the same DNS, and had no problem whatsoever. When I do a traceroute I can reach every hop, except for the last one. So, probably I am getting blocked, and it isn't a DNS problem. Also at the moments the website does not work, I can still ping it, which resolves to the correct IP.

But it is getting better, the site is working quite often for me now.
Thank you for your feedback. We'll work on a solution with Shopify support.
Our DevOps will PM you later today.
2090  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 02, 2014, 01:27:41 PM
I have the same problem. After contacting my ISP and doing some troubleshooting their hosting provider seems to be blacklisting a bit to many IP's.
With another customer, we've tracked the problem to his ISP DNS.

Please try to set your DNS to Google's DNA:
Primary: 8.8.8.8
Alternate: 8.8.4.4

Indeed, we're using Shopify e-commerce platform.

And yeah, can you at least give us an idea if the DC is scheduled to work for April SP10 batch?
There will be a solution for April SP10 batch customers who are interested in hosting in our DC.
For more details contact us at info@spondoolies-tech.com with your order number.

News on Hosting?
Finalizing the legal and VAT issues.
Price for SP10 will be 250$ for month or 600$ for 3 months - VAT on us in both cases.
We'll offer two months of free hosting for May (SP10) + August (SP30) bundle. The Bundle will be available soon.

Hosting plan sounds great... No delivery charge, no VAT, no electricity bill - this could alone could save me $2,240... 6 months hosting at $1,200... I could save $1040 in 6 months...

Is a there an initial set-up cost?

No setup costs, just the hosting price.

Is the two-month free hosting offer special to may/august bundle or for every sp10/sp30 bundle (I have ordered the april/july bundle)?

The previous power bundles enjoyed the benefit of early access to the first batches which are no longer available. To help our customers maintain their profit margins we will be offering the 2 months free hosting only for later bundles.

That said, paid hosting will be available to all customers once the DC is ready

that'll be the 'sexy front end' then - you coulda made it a bit sexier? oh what the hell, you're shipping  Shocked
This is the cloud front end to your miners.  Eventually you'll be able to access and monitor them remotely or via mobile
(wherever they're hosted, your garage, our data center or any co-location around the world)

P&M (Plug and Mine) feature is working (still need to fix icon and time).

Just go to http://myminer.io and find all the miners in your local network:

(might need to do fw upgrade before)

Starts on the 6th? I thought you said you ship on the 6th.

This is disappointing.
Production starts on the 6th, one day testing and shipping.
We don't stock. Build -> Test -> Ship

Just remember that secrets work both ways: how would you like it if someone said it was an 'open secret' that you're using asicminer chips? I think you owe the KNC people an apology.
We're developing our own ASICs. We're transparent from the get go.
Unlike KNC:
 - We don't publish "Q1/Q2" shipping dates.
 - We don't mine and compete with our customers.
 - KNC knows they won't be able to ship on Q2. This is why they came up with 'Plan B'
 - Guess when they'll finally offer the hosting alternative. Probably the last day of Q2
2099  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: March 31, 2014, 05:31:45 PM
March batch - completed, all orders were shipped.
April batch - production starts on the 6th, immediately after the ASICs arrives.
Current production capacity is 30 miners a day. We build, test and ship according to queue.
2100  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: March 30, 2014, 07:52:42 PM
Known "secret" in the industry:
KNC won't ship Neptune in Q2. They'll get samples in July / August.
They've taped-out in the beginning March, 20nm cycle time takes 4-5 months.
Like other ASIC provider we won't disclose here, they've chosen the interim, problematic 20nm process.

20nm will be replaced by 16nm FinFET next year, for a good reason.

Ask for transparency. It's your money.
