221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: China Urges Philippines to Ban All Online Gambling! on: September 09, 2019, 06:43:22 AM
I don't know about Philippines, but China is becoming (if it not already is) the country of censorship and bans.
This is usually bad for the consumers since they are left with fewer choices.

Now... there could really be some danger and the banning is planning to protect the consumers, but China doesn't have the brightest past.
222  Other / Meta / Re: History of bitcointalk.org's rank system on: September 08, 2019, 07:12:32 PM
My opinion is that those system have to be enforeced from early days and equally for everyone.

I suppose the forums didn't expect this kind of a popularity in the early days, so a simple "postcount" metric seemed to be enough back then.
But when they realised the need to filter out the weed from the legendary members, they should have made the changes in a more smooth way.
The only problem with how things have been developed is that people unworthy to be at the same rank as helpful and truly legendary members have been gifted the same rank as them when all they did and they keep doing is spamming with a signature gampaigns!

When the same performance would have them stuck to Jr.Members, it simply annoys me to see them at high ranks.
This just shows that something hasn't been done that well with this system.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: September 07, 2019, 07:11:34 PM
Even though I'm an XRP believer, I researched the matter with Kitao-san since I know some Japanese and I decided to look for a Japanese article regarding this.
So I figured his name would be 北尾 and I finally found this article and a nice image,

The image shows that their partnership on creating SBI Ripple Asia is consisted of two shareholders, 60% SBI and 40% Ripple.
It also says something about a $50 million investment regarding XRP (on the right side).

Full article here: https://coinpost.jp/?p=104877

Btw... Just put them in the ignore list Branko, I see many who are in my ignore list have replied lately but they probably spread FUD and nothing else... that's what they do when XRP is down, when it's up they dissappear.

XRP Users Petition Ripple to Sell More Tokens

https://cointelegraph.com/news/unleash-the-utility-xrp-users-petition-ripple-to-sell-more-tokens

Xrp community members have matured from earnest petitioning strategies to sarcastic ones, as they continue to express anger about the negative market consequences of Ripple dumping allegedly excessive quantities of XRP.

A change.org petition launched at the end of August, entitled “Ripple Must Increase the “Dumping of XRP,” has attracted more than 200 signatures as of Sept. 5.

For those who might have not got it, this is sarcasm! We don't really ask for "more selling"! x)
But people should really realize this is not as bad as some people make it sound. XRP doesn't create new coins like BTC/ETH and almost all other coins do. Instead there's a constant supply which is controlled by a smart contract.
Comparing the supply flow of XRP with BTC and ETH, it's not that much different. Some months it's lower, some months it's higher.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Grin Observer - GRN/BTC - Price Movement and Discussion on: September 05, 2019, 02:43:07 PM
Hey guys

Quickly skimmed first 30 pages. Saw bearish theymos, LFC didn't get in, Hairy sold all of it and bob hating most of it...... but I don't mind throwing a couple of hundred bucks in it and might pick some this weekend. Hairy what are your chart suggesting Huh

Right now it says Grin has no bottom. Looking for an entry point but can’t see one.

But there can't be any visible "entry point" anyway it's on a constant dive with no historic data to support a "bottom" claim.
The best someone can do is to try and compare it with similar coins during similar times in order to guess when a trend change might occur... Which is really hard to do since every time has different circumstances.
226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The secret of gambling? on: September 05, 2019, 02:39:03 PM
The secret of gambling? Not to believe in luck.
There's no luck, only probabilities.

There are calculations behind every game and if you go and try to win "just because it's your lucky day" then you're doomed!
227  Economy / Gambling / Re: Do i need any kind of paperwork for a crash betting site like bustabit on: September 05, 2019, 02:35:06 PM
You mean the rocket-thingy game I suppose?
MintDice offers it and it doesn't require any paperwork.

You can deposit, play, withdraw.

However if you make a lot of money, remember you are required by your country to fill some paperwork.
Be mindful of your local law.
228  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice – Bitcoin Casino With Online Slots, Bitcoin Crash & Bitcoin Investment on: September 05, 2019, 02:32:03 PM
Try using Brave browser,,, if Chrome or other typical browsers give you issues. I normally do that nowadays, Brave has a different internal blocking mechanism to other browsers it seems and that it the key when dealing with sites that do not want to work properly. Good luck trying or just wait for fixes to take place.

Are you sure there's any difference between Chrome and Brave? Maybe the reason it works on Brave is because a Chrome plugin or something on the cache creates an issue and since "this" is not present in Brave, it works there?

Try and use Chrome in incognito mode next time, it'll make things clear.

clearer install instruction - https://github.com/alessiodf/fun-games

imagine if some {delegate|company} creating a slot machine or some kind of casino within ark wallet, then advertise {bonus|incentive|ticket|free vegas lap dance Cheesy}, i think ark would pump like crazy! i would spend 24 hours a day gambling for ark tokens and operator like alessiodf would make a killing Grin

please input your though and idea about this ark games dapp?
i personally think this is a breakthrough! i never doubt the ark team, it's just their communication, marketing and pump team should be fired long ago. i think soon they could bridge this to work with mobile wallet which mobilego and others crypto can't do. mobilego raised $53million in 2017 which in today price is almost $500,0000,000(half a billion!), it's now down the toilet https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/mobilego/ it was a pure scam and mobilego is 1 of many of them.

Great games dApp! I feel Ark about to pump soon.
edit: So Ark call it Plugin instead of dApp?
My suggestion for the Announcements title - ARK - DPoS with Dynamic Fees 🔹 New CORE v2🔹 ARK Deployer 🔹 Plugins Platform

I believe you have understood something wrong!

The screenshot shows a minigame, a single-player one. It's not a game with on-chain assets and therefore it's not a dApp.
Instead it shows how powerful the addons are and how customizable the ARK wallet is.

Ofcourse someone can create dApps on ARK, but this isn't one.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which coding language does gambling sites use? on: September 04, 2019, 10:41:30 PM
Hello,
I am looking for the most popular coding language that the developers use to develop Casino games in cryptocurrency niche. Looking forward for your insights guys.

If we're talking about web, then even in a none Node.js server there will be JavaScript.
The games could easily be written in JavaScript even if other server language is used.

@Pamoldar its possible to write backend JavaScript, it's called Node.js. Actually it's the only programming method I know well!
231  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbet a Russian scam! Becarefull on: September 04, 2019, 10:37:33 PM
Just keep away from anything made form China or Russia there are no laws there except the "law" their rulers have created to protect themselves and their government.

Those are scam heaven counties!

PS: I'm not saying there are no laws at all there, but they mostly ignore whatever is doing harm to people OUTSIDE the country (like scams).
232  Economy / Gambling / Re: What happened to SatoshiDice on: September 04, 2019, 11:31:19 AM
I remember back in 2013/2014 the site had huge popularity (including being sold for a large sum) , and may have been one of the top dice sites. Bets would be flowing in a mile a minute. I just went on the site now and in the last 4 hours, maybe 4 bets have been made in total.

Their copyright hasn't even been updated since 2018.

Did something happen, or did the site just generally lose popularity?

I'm honestly just curious if someone/anyone knows something I don't.

Their official thread is actually still here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=77870.5480

Basically when it got sold a few years back the support was slow and people started to complain on the thread. Then I think it might of gotten sold again or at least the domain name. Since the domain name still has lots of value.

Right now when you go to the site, it seems they only accept onchain bets which are not even with Bitcoin but with Bitcoin Cash. So that is probably the reason why there are very little bets taking place.

In my opinion they should re-add the options to place bets with BTC and make it offchain as before. Since due to the transaction fees, people will move elsewhere.

And the fact that their BTCT thread is practically dead shows just how unpopular they are.
Their name (Satoshi) and the fact that they only accept BCH shows that they are supported by either of the two teams (BSV/BCH). Maybe they were bought by Craig Faketoshi Wright when there was only BCH and now they are abandoned by the team, let to run unattended in order to grab some extra coins from people.

That is my theory at least.

19k sats and all is well....

Any suggestions on where to paint some lines? From naked eye, and watching $ of course not BTC notation, it's supportet on some Fiblevel, nothing more like that.

Emission rate will kill all resistence on the long term

I don't think you can draw trustful lines in any asset that isn't even 1 year old. Especially with relatively low volume, any technical analysis can get crashed by either a FOMO train or a FUD bomb.
In cases like these, just trust your gut and either catch the falling knife or stay and watch! ;P

Oh, isn't this game made from the delegate Fun?
Ye using games for some kind of income for the delegates/team, anything that would push users to buy, use and hold ARK would be great!

PS: Serious developers don't have "pump teams". You mentioned an example of a pump coin, and it's dead now.

(And is your Shift button broken? First letter of a sentence and "I" are usually written with a capital letter! oO)
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: September 02, 2019, 08:20:04 PM
When is Vitalik planned launch hardfork with PoS? I think this should give some start for price increase and may be for overall altcoin bullrun... As Bullrun should start with Ethereum...

In the past it has been XRP which was the first to move though!
In any case, I don't think the market is ready for a bullrun yet, maybe in about 2 years we will see the previously established ATH of some coins, but not in ETH, ETH can't reach $1000 that's madness!

2 mimblewimble coins doing well today. so happ

We need to realise that 5% is not anything special though, don't jumb on the train hoping for a moon-shot when a coin turns green one day!
With that said, let's hope the market will stabilize at some point so that we can see some bulish action again soon.
237  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice – Bitcoin Casino With Online Slots, Bitcoin Crash & Bitcoin Investment on: September 02, 2019, 06:47:03 AM
I think its a very smart move to list a lot of different altcoins. The majority of crypto holders dont hold BTC but usually a lot of different altcoins. Giving those people the chance to deposit coins they already have instead of forcing them to switch those coins to BTC definitly lowers the boarding hurdle for new customers.

With an outrageous Bitcoin dominance of 70%, I wouldn't say that "the majority of crypto holders hold BTC".
But supporting a few altcoins shouldn't be much trouble I believe, so if it doesn't cost them anything it's a welcome "good-to-have" feature.

Anyone having issues with F2Pool and Grin++ 0.6.3 wallet (on mac) and withdrawals?

I left the wallet online, waited 24h when setting the address, wrote to them, told me to wait for re-attempt on the fail TX, waited, nothing, then wrote to them again and was adviced to wait another 7 days for a re-attempt.

In the meanwhile, my Grin coins are still marked as unpaid on f2 pool and I am worried now it will remain there and get transferred to them as a donation.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Or any advice?

Currently, I am tempted to put it all in an exchange wallet and reduce the headache, but then what's the point of it? Hodl to support

I don't know about F2Pool, too much Chinese and too much whale-focused.
I use Grinmint and I'm happy with them, no reason to change them. I used F2Pool in the beggining and they were expecting me to mine a big amount of coins for the level of difficulity it had reached.
They also had different balances for the two different algorithms while Grinmint has a single balance.

XRP Community Is Threatening a ‘Takeover’ if Ripple Execs Keep Dumping

https://cointelegraph.com/news/xrp-community-is-threatening-a-takeover-if-ripple-execs-keep-dumping

 Roll Eyes

Another day, another big unlock:

Ripple Unlocks 1 Billion XRP As Crypto Trader Moves 40,000 Bitcoin (BTC) in a Single Transfer

https://dailyhodl.com/2019/05/01/ripple-unlocks-1-billion-xrp-as-crypto-trader-moves-40000-bitcoin-btc-in-a-single-transfer/

I don't know how to feel about it, but it's probably a good thing.
I don't plan to support a community take over, but I won't be against it either!

On one side there's the community which "wants" something, but they are not in a position to view the big picture and the 99% of the community are not professionals on the matter of investement and developement; therefore they can't know what's good for them, they just ask for whatever would increase the value of their holdings in the short-term.

On the other side we have a company which needs to be reminded that their lifeblood is their community, they need to respect it and listen to it.
If a threat for a takeover is going to make them better, then that's fine, let it be that way!

For those reasons I'm saying I find this action good for the project but I stay neutral regarding which I support.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: September 01, 2019, 06:30:51 PM
IMO those of you that are propping up Eth have lost your mind. Your wealth will be next...Soon...

Care to explain your reasoning?
I don't like Ethereum either, but there isn't anything that does the same things in a better way yet, so even if I don't like it I have to use it and buy it.
This alone however isn't enough to create value though, just because I buy some ETH from an exchange it doesn't mean the company I send my ETH to buy services/game assets won't sell their ETH.

Since there's no real competition though, the price should stay stable. Moonboys are going to get disapointed (those few who might still be around, that is) when the price don't go high, but no one is going to lose money... at least yet.
