Maybe the Opening Post is a scam?

223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF collapsing the altcoin market when aproved? on: February 08, 2017, 09:57:46 AM
Bitcoin ETF is fantastic news for altcoins. Only 0.0001% of people even know altcoins exist at the moment. Anythig Bitcoin does is good for alts too
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: February 08, 2017, 09:51:28 AM
Stratis seems to have a very clear idea of who it is targeting and what the plan is to reach that audience. That is no guarantee it will work, but it is fantastic to see such focus and clear vision.
Most coins have lots of competition and a vague or more general idea of who they are trying to reach. Stratis seems to have no direct competition and a very clear idea of who it wants to reach.
I like that

Great to see quality people like jl777 helping with Heat, too.  Smiley
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A Decentralized Fund on: February 08, 2017, 08:54:40 AM
Hi my name is George, I’m developing a decentralized fund on Ethereum called Vega Fund. We are new and are looking for people that may be interested in early involvement. We are looking for community feedback and would like this to be an area for people to ask questions. If your interested in talking directly or joining our conversation on slack, please just give me a message and we can talk.
1.What is the purpose of the fund?
2.What will it contain?
3.What will be done with it's contents?

1. There are two main purposes for the fund:
          a) To allow individual investors the opportunity to have an impact in the ICO market without having to sacrifice diversity of risk. To expand on this, often times investors in this market don't have enough money to both make a significant impact on the project they're trying to help fund and also diversify their holdings, forcing a choice between impact and diversification.
Using the word ïmpact"here is a little bit vague. What sort of impact are you meaning?

Quote
b) To provide a single large funding base for projects and individual developers in this space.
How is the centralisation of this a positive? Surely a distributed funding base is better

Quote
2. The holdings of the fund, initially, will be wholly comprised of tokens issued through pre-ICO sale or ICO of Ethereum-based products. In the future, the fund may expand to provide funding for things in the broader cryptocurrency/blockchain markets.
ok

Quote
3. This will be up to the clients of the fund, but ideally clients would vote to fund projects at an early stage with the intention of either realizing a return at some point down the road or creating a sustained funding relationship with a certain project.
An interesting experiment, but I don't think it is better. It is easier to turn around a surfboard that an ocean liner.

There are some projects in life where I would see  banding together as advantageous, but, for myself, I can't see much of an advantage this time, though I might be missing something certainly.

Mind you I'd be very interested to see how the voting goes in such things if you do get funds. Will it be transparent enough for anyone to see how voting is going on proposals?

The benefit seems to be this impact, but how is this impact, going to be advantageous?

Hello all. (most) Smiley
Can someone explain what the fuss is about the testing period?
1.Were coins produced by a small group?
2.How many coins, if so?

Thanks.

BTW I have memberberry and stewieg on ignore so i won't see what they post. I'm not interested in their trolling

I have bought some of this coin and I think it has amazing potential.  I'm not going to be upset if a  number were produced to test things out. That really doesn't matter to me, but could someone just explain what the fuss is about. Smiley

Thanks  Smiley

Not strange at all. You could buy HEAT in multiple ways:
- directly from the devs
- using escrow of well known exchanges

Because not all available HEAT was sold during ICO, a multplier was applied to those who bought in ICO. For every 1 HEAT bought you were actually given 1.5 HEAT. The devs applied this multiplier before they released the coin and so did all the exchanges that were partners in the presale. Only exception was C-CEX, which because of all the delays decided to let people decide if they want to keep their HEAT or get the BTC back. In a couple of days they will change HEAT IOU for normal HEAT and apply the multiplier, that's why people on C-CEX will get additional coins.

Ok..
If I understand the OP correctly there are 25 million heat to be distributed from the genesis block and another 25 million will be produced over the next 4 years.

How many heat are in existence now, and how many will there be once the coins on c-cex are multiplied?

FINAL REMINDER

Only 3 days till C-CEX closes the refund process and multiplies all HEAT IOU there.

If you want to sell your HEAT IOU - sell it now. Current sell price is about 0.00010937.

If you are looking to buy some more HEAT - buy it from C-CEX now and they will multiply it by x1.5 in 3 days. For every 1 BTC spent on HEAT on C-CEX you will get 1.5 BTC worth of HEAT.

https://c-cex.com/?p=heat-btc

This sounds very strange. Can someone explain?

This thread has died out because of various incidents and I think it would be a good thing to start a new clean moderated version that would focus on the future of the project.
Good idea!
As someone who is new to heat, I would not mind that.
All coins attract comments that aren't helpful. I'd prefer a discussion of the coin, rather than hyping or so called "fudding".
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | STRATIS | The first blockchain developed for businesses |Full POS on: February 05, 2017, 03:24:21 AM
I don't think this coin needs to be hyped too much. I think it is better to explain it rather than hype it.

Once people understand it there is a good chance it will rise on it's own.

234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does anyone understand how Stratis is related to Bitcoin on: February 05, 2017, 03:12:48 AM
I did ask that question here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1512202.msg17541184#msg17541184    but did not get an answer. I will repeat here what I wrote there.

What I still don't understand it how the Stratis blockchain is related to the bitcoin blockchain.
If I look at another coin, say Monero, just to take an example, there is no relationship at all between the BTC blockchain and the XMR blockchain.

But...when it comes to the  Stratis blockchain and the Bitcoin blockchain, there is some relationship (even if only one way) ...but what is it?

The answer to the question is in this interview with Chris Trew and Tai Zen

If I have questions is it best to ask here or on slack?
If slack, can I have an invite please?
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is the Most Promising AltCoin this 2017? on: February 04, 2017, 08:23:22 PM
When I clicked that link and I when saw - "wallet, margin trading" I instantly knew that this coin will be nothing more that speculators heaven.
Unfitted to carry any other tasks than being used for pumps & dumps. Hardly the most promising coin of 2017 for me.
Don't be too fast. One of the founders of Lykke is the founder of Oanda. This is about trading fiat currencies , or just about anything else.

Interesting, will be doing some calculation.

Thanks for your interest. After you review the ITOM document we released yesterday we can answer any questions you have.

We will also be releasing a prospectus on our first company acquisition in the next couple weeks. It will have more detailed financials for you to work with.
Did this information get released?

investment fund is popular idea , like it .

We believe this is a very unique approach to an investment fund. Among other things, the MIT token provides a liquid method to enter the US middle market, something not currently available for the majority of investors.
There are some opportunities do invest like this in Australia. The  following listed fund, for example.
http://bailador.com.au/

This fund has to comply with the ASX requirements while you guys won't be constrained in that way.

I'm surprised the price hasn't moved

You expect those 150 Law students to move the market? I thought students should be poor.

Nah...but markets have a tendency to over react, that's all.
