221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-Crown Cryptocurrency on: October 11, 2017, 03:27:00 PM
Also, no new blocks for 3 hours now.  I think you need to turn your miner back on to get the chain moving again.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-Crown Cryptocurrency on: October 11, 2017, 03:25:54 PM
As I first wanted to publish the coin, I worked on binding matters, Mining Pool, BlockChain, Explorer, WebSite. Now I'm working on adding the E-crown to the exchange

Why have you been mining your own coin for 44 days before getting round to announcing it to the public?
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-Crown Cryptocurrency on: October 11, 2017, 03:16:36 PM
130,000 coins mined already, mostly by a single miner....for 44 days before this ANN thread was created.

No exchange.

Rich list disabled on official block explorer.

Code appears to be from one of the create-a-coin sites.

The chain appears to be stuck too. Almost like somebody turned off a high hash rate miner and left the difficulty too high.

Interesting.

This seems to be a PRE coin, and it's not a coincidence that the initial amount of being mined is not accidental. If listed the exchange, you should pay attention to this problem.

I suspect that this is a genuine project even if it seems a bit naive, seeing as the dev has released his real name and identity.  Of course, genuine doesn't mean that it doesn't have a massive premine.

Dev:  It is generaly viewed as very poor form for a new crypto project to be mined before it is announced to the public.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] E-Crown Cryptocurrency on: October 11, 2017, 03:13:46 PM
Dude Crown is Czech or slovak national currency and E-crown is for czech or slovak paymens

I'm aware that the Czech currency is the Crown.

There used to be a crypto project called Czech Crowncoin which failed. I believe there used to be a SLovak one that also failed due to lack of interest.

Separate to that, there is a current and  successful Czech founded project called Crown that was launched in 2014 and is still going strong.

So, er, they say imitation is a form of flattery!

The original crown team (www.crown.tech) wishes the e-crown team the best of luck in their new endeavor  Roll Eyes

Other projects getting inspired by Crown, why not, I heard that in China when people copy it is not viewed negatively, its actually a tribute to the original project  Smiley I share that view  Wink

thanks for sharing eightspace

Interesting that its a Czech project...
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: October 09, 2017, 09:21:13 AM

Is there a spreadcoin slack channel, if there is, where can I find the invitation link?

Thanks.

From Georgem's Patreon account:

"If you are willing to donate 100$ you will get access to the patreon-only Slack so that we can better discuss development and future of everything Spreadcoin-related."

I'm not sure if there is a free Slack channel.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: October 09, 2017, 09:08:07 AM
everybody here got tired of his bullshit (this is also why HLM exists in the first place).

This is why many of his core supporters sold their SPR and joined the Crown community and team over a year ago in order to develop their ideas.  Notable that its only those SPR team members who still have their SPR that are creating HLM and the coin swap.

Those that sold their SPR and bought CRW instead have over x100 their money and have  year of progress under their belts.  Maybe the HLM team will be able to do the same for their huge SPR bags and also deliver a good/better product in time.

EDIT:  I don't see anything unethical going on here, but I think its important to recognise the motivators behind these moves.  One group of SPR devs decided to join another project and implement their ideas without a PR and marketing funfair, and the others decided on a coin swap and sales drive on a product that isn't built yet.  Will be interesting to see how each project does over time.  There is no right or wrong approach. Just the approach that feels better to you ethically.  I do think that it is telling that Bittrex have a good relationship with the Crown team but HLM is partnering up with a low volume exchange for the swap though.

I'm getting pretty damn excited about our upcoming release of Systemnodes.

The idea is two fold:

1)  We have a technical requirement that needs to be filled in order to deliver some of our future plans, in a way that needed to be separate from Masternodes/Trons.
2) The community have expressed an desire to have a method of staking coins or supporting the network in return for rewards without requiring 10,000 CRW. The core team agreed that it would be great for people who don't have $15k sitting around to have a way to contribute and earn coins too.

As a result, we are introducing System nodes that will require 500 CRW collateral (1/20th of a masternode) and will receive 1/20th of the block reward that a masternode receives in return for providing various low intensity services.  This is a progression of the Chronos node idea, time keeping will be one of the services that system nodes provide.

No problem. Do you reckon the guide could have been clearer?  If so, will take a look and see if I can improve it.

The guide is very clear and the script to install Crown on the VPS works perfectly so it's the best / easiest masternode setup I have come across actually.

Thanks for the kind words, whoever wrote the guides (I really can't remember!) will be pleased to read that.

I tried to set up a CRW MN on a VPS and the remote installation went fine and it's up and running. However, I edited the crown.conf file as per instructions like this:

xx

Code:
Throne1 178.62.90.252:19340 5J7cqoGAZELHLzh1rP-----------------1ZQ1gXR8BywJVnk 2b8c08b8b1------------------------eb42695bf4ac6a5ec99a 1

The when I try to start the crown-qt on my Mac I get this message:

xx

Whats wrong?
remove the 1 on 19340 should? fix it default port for crw is 9340 Smiley

thats not the problem, but yes wrong port

the problem is, you have a new empty line in your masternode.conf file, remove it and you will be fine

No, it's the line I entered that's the problem. I have no blank lines and I changed the port to 9340 but still the same problem.

Just read the thread, your throne config should be in throne.conf not crown.conf.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CRW] CROWN (SHA256) | NEW UPDATE! | Experimental Commodity | Trons | on: September 28, 2017, 06:44:53 AM
Small update.

ServiceNode (SN) development is underway, our second new developer is working hard to bring v1 of SN's to testnet.
v1 will be without NTP timekeeper servers at first, but will be implemented in v2 of SN's.

We would like the SN network to grow and stabilise before we add NTP as the first service.
So far SN's will require 1/20th of the collateral of a Masternode (10,000CRW) = 500CRW per SN and will be rewarded appropriately.

Follow SN development here

https://github.com/Crowndev/crowncoin/tree/servicenode

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Separately the team are quite sure we have the correct framework for the application platform to go ahead and start specifying work tasks.
Documentation will be made available in the coming days boasting the breakthrough we made.

More infomation coming soon.

this is really great news, do the service nodes also need a dedicated ip?  same as a throne?

The intention is for a dedicated IP to not be required, subject to us confirming that that doesn't introduce security issues.

One of the main purposes of service nodes is to provide a different point of entry for the community to provide services and be paid, without the hassle of setting up a Tron.
i see, but does that ,ean you could run a throne and a SN using the same ip? but sure i can understand the security issue

To do this, you'd have to have coins in a wallet on your Throne which is highly inadvisable.

80% locked in nodes wow? so is this artificial price then?

if all the rewards start to sell?

30% inflation? 9 block per minute, so what will be the use of nodes after all blocks mined. just the fees for the Dapp?

I don't understand your question.  What do you mean is this artificial price?

Masternode rewards are continually sold on the market by some people...what makes you think that the hundreds of masternode operators are all holding?

Can you tell me where you get the 30% inflation figure from?

Sorry, would love to answer your questions but I don't really understand what you are asking.

There is a decent mention of Crown  in this Institutional Investor article.

Institutional Investor is a fairly grown up niche magazine read by about 100,000 people.

http://www.institutionalinvestor.com/article/3751923/banking-and-capital-markets-banking/a-hackers-guide-to-destroying-the-global-economy.html?ArticleId=3751923&single=true#.WcTIU8h94Rk

Big thanks to Urban_Idler for sharing his views on decentralization before the interview happened.  Inspiring stuff.

Crown Core Team Announcement 28th August 2017

Delayed Launch for Crown Atomic

We have delayed the launch of Crown Atomic. With three days to go before our original launch date of 1st September, we reviewed our current position and we have decided that we aren't currently happy enough with the code to release it and feel that we have an opportunity to improve the quality and depth of what the API will offer before releasing it to the wild.

We won't be putting an exact date on the revised launch but we expect that it will be no later than 1st October 2017.

New Team Member

We are delighted to announce that Artem Brahzhnikov (@artem), a mathematician, cryptographer and talented C++ developer has joined the Crown development team. Artem brings a huge amount of knowledge and experience to the team and has quickly taken to the Crown code. Artem's clarity of mind and experience with transactional systems will be a huge boost to our development path in the coming months.

The Crown Atomic delay is partly driven by us wanting to have an opportunity for Artem to use his fresh eyes to quality control what we have so far, before asking the community to help us test.

It is the first time that the Crown team has missed a significant deadline and not a decision that we have taken lightly. We are confident that it is the correct decision and that the delay will benefit the project.

FUCK YOU CROWN

Your account has 79 posts and literally all 79 of them are FUD against projects, accusing them of bring pump and dump. Very strange behaviour.
