a lot of ppl are gonna get rekt here if they've been buying at these rates.  when the whales pull that support the price will drop like a brick.  better hope there's a round 2 in the future.

Are you talking about Eth or Bitcoin?  Smiley

Of course if the price does what NXT did when it launched then it will be another 10x the current Nxt asset price for comparison.

It might, but I doubt it.  Nxt had 21BTC invested, Iota has 1300BTC. I think it will hover around $5mil (or 10x) marketcap until there is significant news or a general pump.

Just curious. Are you going to answer the man's question? Seems like a fair question if you ask me.

He did answer him, look two posts up.  He doesn't know when exchanges will adopt Iota, so he doesn't know when anyone can buy some.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: February 09, 2016, 11:49:53 PM
hello everyone! what was the final ico price? didn't find the info in the op

I believe you receive 750k Iota for every 1BTC invested.  There was about 1300BTC total invested.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: February 06, 2016, 04:42:19 PM
plus it would have had a shit UI

I didn't know I'm that bad in front-end design, haha.

In some countries, shit UI is a delicacy.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: February 05, 2016, 12:07:52 AM

You do realize it will take weeks (potentially longer) for Iota to get on an exchange.  We need a stable client with no major bugs.

I really like the idea of having an account, like ETH and Nxt, (reusable address) my vote is go in that direction.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: February 04, 2016, 05:11:02 PM
Can you explain the potential problem.  What do you mean by worse consensus convergence, in this case?

+1, otherwise sounds okay to me.
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: February 03, 2016, 09:12:59 PM
With the departure of Dr Gavin Wood how many gifted programmers are developing Ethereum Core at the moment?

Vitalik is a genius, but doesn't code for Ethereum
Bitcoin is loaded with PhD's
Rootstocks's VM is allegedly better
Maxwell claimed Ethereum functionality could be go Bitcoin with a soft fork

You see where I'm going with this…

I love this project but are we sure it has legs?

It's obvious you want to buy Eth, just be patient, the price will dip and you can buy, you don't have to resort to troll.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: February 03, 2016, 09:00:45 PM
Any news on potential exchange listing?

Also is the amount of BTC that got invested during the crowdsale available along with the amount of IOTA that got sold?

The beta UI client is supposed to launch this weekend, so I'd imagine there won't be any exchange listing until a while after that is proven stable.

Can someone tell me what is the difference between the Geth and Eth and which one is better to use?

I'm not sure I understand your question.  Geth is the Ethereum node, Eth is the token.  If you are wondering what wallet program to use, I highly suggest: https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases/tag/0.3.9  It's Ethereum's full node client, you will be running Geth and Mist (wallet) software.

I have noticed there is no win32-0-3-9 (Beta 6) wallet at the moment on GitHub, can anyone tell me if this is to come out soon.
Thanks
https://github.com/ethereum/mist/releases/

There still is no 32bit version of 3.9  Not sure why.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA Crowdsale on: February 02, 2016, 09:08:58 PM
Thanks a lot for explanation. Everyone has his own viewpoint, I understood yours, hopefully you understood mine.

This was not meant to be an "ad hominem" at all, moreover a "pathetic" one Smiley
Anyway, as the relevancy and importance of this topic are long gone, lets discuss more interesting ones...

What is the main forum topic for IOTA? This one, or the https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1216479.1600? Are you going to one a fresh one as soon as the main-net is released?

I would assume that both this thread and the main IOTA thread will be updated once the Beta UI client is released (this upcoming weekend, I believe).  If you do have issues, I would highly recommend joining Ryver as the support is very good there and multiple people are willing to help.

NB: "FKQEOLIZVDE9WBUN9RZUZCEVTQ9EUPTKAPY9OCRINZLHLGRPKCFNSTYXGCTFFXENDREEDUOJGLPZLVG DM" is Unclaimed Iotas Fund address, use your own address. You can generate the address by typing
Code:
getaddress mysecretseed

CFB, can we use this to create new accounts?  Is it safe to do?

As safe as http://188.138.57.93/addressgenerator.html

Okay, thanks.  Assuming we can still generate while disconnected?  My other question; will new accounts created today be valid or do you plan a genesis reset after testing?

That tutorial was written for Iota-0.0.1, back then then wasn't much of a console or anything, thats why its not in the tutorial, 0.0.1 was just to see if poeple could run it and get them to exchange IP's for meshnet.

current version is 0.3.0 and includes more functionality and genesis tangle, you should really ask on ryver If you have any questions and people there will get you up and running,

If you are not on the river send a PM to iotatoken.

Yeah, I've been on Ryver.  I think for myself I'll wait until a little more user friendly client.

We have tested genesis creation, now you can check your balance.

Mine checks out okay  Smiley

Sorry guys if i can't help in this test stage,i have tryed to setup a node also with the tutorial but it's a too skilled task for me.

i hope your test are going well! Grin

Yes, I think it would be nice to have a better tutorial for getting things up and running (on Windows) on testnet.  I think my client is up but I have no idea what the Console should look like when it's operating.  Screen shots would be nice, and instructions on using the console would be nice as well.

Edit, sorry I used the word "nice" way too much in that post.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: January 27, 2016, 02:10:48 AM
is there any trustworthy ethereum wallet?

This is considered the official wallet, remember that after you download chain , you must send 1ETH to Etherbase address in client in order to create a custom wallet.

What value do all of you investors put on the project as of now? I am leaning towards realistically $30-$50 million (1/4th of Ethereum) until we get the hardware support.

Well, I can't get the test version running yet, so $0  Smiley

Ask in the Ryver and it'll get sorted Smiley

Okay will do.
