221  Other / Meta / Re: What is the significance of locking a topic? on: May 11, 2018, 07:43:46 PM
You lock a topic once you get your answer. It stops stupid, useless post count padding.
222  Other / Meta / Re: My Account got Hacked... on: May 11, 2018, 10:32:32 AM
i really have no idea what sign message means/how to do that(if there is video tutorial , it would help more) ... why can't they just send "Verify Email" to the first email and that's it? The account had same email for over a year until it got hacked...

Too easy to change. Accounts are being sold with email, private keys and social media accounts.

224  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: HERO member user is a scammer on: May 08, 2018, 06:10:32 PM
Here's the address for refund:
3EDd4M2cB8NHMxWjVGFyTDvZfZg3rvrtdR

I can understand if this user told me that he can't do the job.
But i don't care what kind of problems do you have, if you told me i'm a dick and "i can't wait".

A question for community: should i delete this topic after full refund?
Thanks for all.

Has this been resolved? If so, edit the post to something like: [RESOLVED] in front of topic and lock thread.
225  Other / Meta / Re: Abuse of the trust system by Vod on: May 07, 2018, 08:29:13 PM
please tell me how I can remove my restrictions, I have a bad trust, and as you know, I can not wear a signature, please, if someone knows what to do, tell me where to turn, I just do not know I did nothing wrong, I just made an offer and wrote a personal message to a person, and he imposed these restrictions on trust in me. I did not know that it is forbidden to make such proposals in a personal message

Why are you posting in another thread that didn't have a new post for 4 years?
Trust is not moderated, you have to work it out with those that left it.
226  Other / Meta / Re: Is the merit system flawed? on: May 06, 2018, 09:10:35 PM

Fine, newbies and jrs are getting less merit because they don't know enough to impress others, but this only gets us back to the same question: why do they need to advance in ranks then? They have all the time in the world. They can spend more time on the forum, read, learn and eventually earn some merit. What does it change if it takes 2 months or 6 months, even 12 months to get to member? I know that people used to advance faster but it lead to account farming and this is what the merit system is here to slow down.

Signature Campaigns! - FTW
227  Other / Meta / Re: How long does it take to get a hacked account back ??? on: May 06, 2018, 09:07:47 PM
Somewhere between a long time and never. Good luck!
228  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos Doesn't love the Forum Anymore ?? !!!!! on: May 05, 2018, 10:43:47 AM

Reading is not your strong suit I'm guessing?  Roll Eyes
229  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Rampant Scams Getting Serious on: May 05, 2018, 12:50:41 AM
Greed overrides common sense, we see it all the time. An account can have -50 and yet they still throw money at it. Some have been burned by the same scam multiple times yet learn nothing. Most of those burned don't even bother to mark the account either.

Thank, KWH

I do not have a bitcoin address, there is an address deeponion

As per the link, that won't work.
231  Economy / Lending / Re: LOAN OF 1BTC on: May 03, 2018, 01:36:51 AM
My plan is to mine Monero and Etherium on a number of different rigs and I have various amounts of alt coins I can use for collateral.

Don't overload us with all the details.  Roll Eyes
232  Economy / Lending / Re: LOAN OF 1BTC on: May 03, 2018, 01:26:22 AM
Hi I am looking for a loan of 1BTC for mining purposes I have done extensive research in this field and already have a couple of small scale rigs set up the funds would be used for buying the best bang for the buck mining equipement to accelerate profits.

Collateral? Rates? Business plan?

Let's suspend all the rules and have a blast; every person for themselves! Let's also give every account (army or no) a vote! Let's be a FULL democracy and vote on everything, majority rules!
Do I need a sarc tag here?
235  Other / Meta / Re: Banned Account Question on: April 30, 2018, 06:41:47 PM
I mostly agree with hilarious's posts. The plagiarism was exactly the same offense as any member of the typical spammer flood, with exactly the same mindset: "I want money -> I need to make x posts with y words to make money -> the easiest way to do that is to copy/paste something from elsewhere", with complete disregard for your own integrity, the health of the forum, the ongoing discussion, or fairness in crediting the actual author. If someone copy/pasted something that was amazingly high-quality and on-topic, I'd understand more (though you'd still get banned), but almost always people copy the first thing that they find on Google. To be so lazy that you won't even make up your own low-quality post, but instead save a few minutes by importing some garbage from the wider Internet, is a massive insult to this forum's community, and is proof that at least in that moment the only thing you cared about was money-making.

I don't believe in a "strict rule of law"; even if it's written somewhere that "copy/paste = permaban", I'm willing to relax that on occasion. If you're going to be a net positive to the forum going forward, then I probably want you here, even if you've made past mistakes. But someone who at any point copy/pastes garbage like this has proven that they have an utterly broken mindset when it comes to the forum, and I have a really hard time believing that such a person will be a net positive going forward.

Concise explanation and stance on plagiarism. I hope this is read and read often.
236  Economy / Reputation / Re: How could I explained this situation on: April 29, 2018, 12:28:38 PM

and the red trust is forever? I also got into this situation, we had everything ok in the subscription, we normally passed KYС and proved that we are different people. Of all of us at least I can not be pardoned alone?))) The rest can be left as is, I was against this idea at all, and now everyone has got what they deserve.

With the selling of social media, Exchange and bitcointalk accounts along with ID and SS#'s, what is the truth anymore?
All the shady and scammy dealings to scratch some dust has hurt most claims of innocence. See how that works?
237  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a way to discover which report was not accurate? on: April 29, 2018, 12:16:20 PM
That's your reason: Different interpretations of a post.
238  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a way to discover which report was not accurate? on: April 29, 2018, 11:22:15 AM
I've bumped this thread because my accuracy has dropped to 96%. I try to report posts that I feel are of no benefit or destructive to the forum, but it looks as if I may not be on the same page as the mods. I tend to feel that if I can't improve my assessment, that I should give up reporting posts.

How difficult would it be to provide access to a list with our failed reports?

That's why I stopped wasting my time on Reports.
239  Other / Meta / Re: Merit System And My humble Suggestion (What's Your Own Suggestion?) on: April 29, 2018, 02:33:15 AM
I like the idea of the new merit system, it will definitely improve the post quality in the community. But I have many issues with the merit system. which includes.

- The new merit will make some members to create multiple account and give themselves the merit How much Merit do Newbie accounts have?
- Some might be given merit to their friends to help them move to another level while their post doesn't deserve the merit Sooner or later, these accounts will run dry of sMerits.
- some might even demand for momentary value to be able to give out merit  Already happens but see above.

these and many more issues Such as?

............................

OP adds nothing new to the Merit discussion.
240  Other / Meta / Re: recovery my account on: April 28, 2018, 10:39:40 AM
I would suggest you delete the previous bump posts. You are not supposed to bump more than once per day.
Good luck.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

13. Bumps, "updates" are limited to once per 24 hours.[2]
21. Old bumps should be deleted. [2]
