1162  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why does a scammer have positive trust? on: October 14, 2015, 12:44:29 PM
I would like to know how it is possible that a scammer can have positive trust?

bitponzi.io has a trust rating of 10: -0 / +1 yet he is a scammer:

fkin shut down!!! Sent 4 BTC in all, only got 1.8 back?!

What did you expect from a ponzi? All ponzi are guaranteed to be a scam, sooner or later.

They seem to have stolen at least .1 BTC from their players using 1290db3346ae15108d253fad749dae79dcd62d9975da0e01d867346342620c1c possibly to either bitstamp or another service that has been around since at least 2011.

I also think most ponzi's are regarded to be generally untrustworthy, but it is unclear why this is different.

Here is the entire thread for the scam.

Screenshot of their trust:

Is it common to see someone have positive trust who is running a ponzi and who has scammed like this?

Is this some kind of undisclosed flaw in the trust system? If so is there any kind of bug bounty for reporting bugs in the trust system?

First of all, this thread is over a year old. Secondly, your best bet is to PM Dooglus and ask if he would consider a Neutral instead of the Positive.
1163  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] HERO member account-soon LEGENDERY! on: October 13, 2015, 04:38:06 PM
Haha, this might be a scam, if the seller do not provide any preview at all of what he is selling.

It is just normal not to give much information about the account being sold else it might get a red or neutral feedback that the account is being sold and might end up a waste

Most you'd get from me and anyone I know that is on DT is a Neutral stating the account was sold. A Neutral won't hurt the account at all.
1164  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: feverpitch --> Professional scammer ! on: October 13, 2015, 12:17:35 AM

1165  Economy / Lending / Re: NEED .038 loan with colatteral on: October 12, 2015, 02:00:55 AM
I have a purse.io order right not that will release .043 when order is delivered tomorrow.i have tracking and you candouble check my tracking numbers and anythhing else. i can give you my purse account for collateral and when funds are released from the deal you withdrawal the funds to yourself and return the account to me.

Why not wait until tomorrow? I am fairly sure you could retake your collateral with little difficulty.
1166  Other / Meta / Re: please someone neg tag this 2 accounts on: October 07, 2015, 05:56:54 PM
hello Readers,

I did the checking and there is no rule against similar name account.  Wink

it seems so.. i reported you and my accuracy went down. even though i have seen BadBear stating that it IS NOT allowed

my neg-rate stays though

Some have been banned while others are neg bombed to hell.
Accuracy of reports is subjective to those doing the report. Sometimes the opinions vary wildly.
1167  Other / Meta / Re: Ok I do agree that scammers are not banned but... on: October 03, 2015, 02:02:38 PM
This user : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1199524.0;topicseen is obviously trying to scam very high amount of btc by buying Legendary that too with green trust. Shouldn't he be banned?

Nope, not with the formal allowing of bought/sold accounts.
Until (if) the community decides they have had enough of these trades and starts leaving Negative feedback on those that buy and sell, it's a moot point.
1168  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Attempted scam by coinmaster222 on: October 03, 2015, 01:53:47 PM
but the thing that gets me is without having a full conversation with me you just put down negative trust,I feel I should return the favor

the honest truth is I have more important things going on than worrying about here, but will do it now

If your account was hacked, how would it be possible to have a conversation with you? Or even know it was you?
Not caring enough to warn the community about the hack is a real chump move and any permanent Negative stating so would be warranted IMO.

1169  Other / Meta / Re: Abuse or not? on: October 03, 2015, 01:40:37 PM
I remember having an argument discussion with a good friend 6 or so months ago about the buying and selling of accounts on here. He seeing no issues with it, and me dead against it. He is a succussful businessman and likened it to goodwill of a business when that business is sold. Although that goodwill was built by the previous owner it still survives in the business under the new owner and is valued with a considerable premium and so on... I likened it to a personal credit rating - it is a rating for that person alone, it cannot be traded and should not be traded and so on.

Anyways, this topic is about whether leaving neg trust to a bought account is trust abuse etc. As no one should dictate to anyone else what or who they should find trustwothy or otherwise, leaving neg trust in such a situation  is imo definitely not trust abuse. Members of this forum should freely leave feedback they see fit. Other members can deal with it by adjusting their trust lists accordingly. That's how it is meant to work.

And you can actually (normally) find the real person (ID) behind the ownership. Any bad dealings can be arbitrated any number of ways, not so much with internet anonymity.
Your analogy is much closer to reality.

1172  Economy / Lending / Re: Quick Loan of 2 Btc - Repay 1 week on: September 30, 2015, 12:14:56 PM
If looking for a job and getting one can be done in one day, yes i wont come for this shithole asking for a loan. So Y dont you just grow a fuck and think if it was your friend???

Sorry...

I would tell him to get a job. Would you also share your girlfriend/boyfriend with your "friend"?
1173  Economy / Lending / Re: Quick Loan of 2 Btc - Repay 1 week on: September 30, 2015, 12:06:24 PM
Ohhh man... Isn't the faucet rotator enough collateral what you want my bitcoin wallet too. If yes OK.

Well I'm a guy who would do anything for my friends. Need proof then my bff :- https://www.facebook.com/jeewakeDarkSaints?fref=ts&ref=br_tf

And the link for my faucet rotator :- http://[Suspicious link removed]/1L3QyUG

Then go to a bank and get a fiat loan or get a car title loan. It will save you money and time.
Posting a Facebook link doesn't offer any proof, BTW.

You didn't answer on how you were planning to repay?

I do have a faucet rotator. How's that for collateral? That's all I got. And I don't think my account would be much worth it...

1. Why are YOU offering YOUR account and faucet as collateral for a loan for your "friend"?
2. How are your going to repay this loan and the high interest rate?

Hey Guys:-

I am in urgent need for some quick cash. Not really me but one of my friends is. So can anyone lend me 2 BTC. I promise to payback 2.5 BTC within a week.

Thanx...

1176  Other / Meta / Re: New Forum Rank on: September 26, 2015, 06:15:50 PM
as people already said so many times, scams are not moderated.

if you think someone is a scammer, leave a negative feedback or open a scam accusation with proof against that user. let the buyer community beware.
Yes, that is why we need volontiers that can name this rank and volontiers that can be this rank.
I think it would really help the forum.

There are people that do just this, but they come under enormous and constant attacks from scammers and hoards of alts. They post often times fake, inaccurate or false DOX, make absurd claims and often unfounded counter accusations. Rubberneckers then chime in often throwing red around like candy at a county fair. Not many will help out with this kind of barrage.
Have you not been paying attention?
1177  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammed 75 Bitcoins by Skype Scammer 'BankerBTC' - Community Beware on: September 26, 2015, 11:36:03 AM
maybe the lesson here is not to trade on Skype?

Or out of LBC since escrow protection was just squandered. Are you sure your employee wasn't in on it? Since your company was scammed so easily, you may want to rethink your profession, it was way to easy.
Sorry you got taken but all the classic scammer signs were written all over this deal.
1178  Other / Meta / Re: [poll] Should doxing be banned? on: September 19, 2015, 04:42:55 AM
If there is no recourse to a botched doxing then it shouldn't be allowed IMO.
Since Polls are easily stacked, I didn't vote.
1179  Other / Meta / Re: Why is non-consensual release of personal information allowed? on: September 19, 2015, 04:37:47 AM
Quote
Not that I necessarily disagree, but there isn't a screening process. Who should be in charge of fact checking to make sure the right person is doxed, and that the information is accurate? If you do post inaccurate info, I suppose you lose credibility? Thats something of a consequence.

And there the problem is:
1. The person posting the said dox is fully responsible.
2. A throw away account doesn't suffer much consequence. Somewhere around 0%.
1180  Other / Meta / Re: Why is non-consensual release of personal information allowed? on: September 18, 2015, 06:24:58 PM
The problem isn't the act of doxing for the most part, it is the factual doxing the correct person. I have seen so much wrong information posted it is unbelievable.
No SSID and other sensitive information should ever be allowed and doxing should only be the last resort.
IMO, no doxing should be allowed from an alt. or new account. If you post it and are wrong, you should suffer the consequences.
