What you are telling is correct but this is not a big crime that it cannot be forgiven, Even you can see that other DT members have given me neutral after seeing my post record. Negative trust is what it is to control the spam and it is not that it should be permanent ban. I know that rules but even their is not strict rules that you cannot sell account. Even i support that it should not be encouraged as it is giving support to more scams.

That is why that i think that i should atleast get one chance to prove my innocence and get one chance to reconsider about this TAG.

If you read the Neutrals left, there is some doubt as to the honesty of the buying/selling of this account. Buying selling accounts is looked upon as seriously shady, (especially a high ranking account), because YOU did not rank up that account nor earn any Positive feedback that was left, same as using a fake ID.
They are within their rights to leave you a Negative. If they decide not to change or remove them, there is nothing you can do.
322  Other / Meta / Re: One thing I've always wondered about Legendary members... on: February 26, 2018, 02:10:32 AM
Having a paid signature massively damages one's reputation and credibility due to the association with shitposters getting paid to spam the forum. This is especially the case in the technical support boards, where the presence or absence of a paid signature is a fairly reliable means of distinguishing good advice from bad. My reputation will not be compromised for a measly BTC0.1 a month.

That's a great ethic to have. I think this pretty much answers my question, thanks!

Please lock this thread, lower left to prevent nonsense from spammers.

I don't think I ever added a bitcoin address to that account. If there was one can you let me know what it was? I'll look around to see if I can find it to sign a message.

Some other coin addy may work as long as you can sign a message using an unedited post with that addy.

Hey,

may I get the reason for getting this "Sorry soulofliberty, you are banned from posting or sending personal messages on this forum. You have been banned by a forum moderator. You may appeal here: banappeals-w6pquw43@theymos.e4ward.com".

May I also know, which forum moderator has banned me?

Not unless they tell you.

That's why I posted here, to get to know the reason.

Since it's permanent, copy and paste is the likely culprit.

Can't be the reason. Since I haven't done any copy & paste.

You don't get nuked for doing nothing.

I leave a Neutral as Theymos allows these sales. Others are free to do as they see fit.

Thank you. But still. Time goes by, but there is no reaction from the moderators.

Many have waited for 4-6 months, some longer. All you can do is wait. That's it.

Mods have NOTHING to do with his rating. The only person that can remove the rating is the one that left it.
That is, any competitor can be "removed" like this at the touch of a button and no one can do anything?
331  Other / Meta / Re: Some confusions regarding "Merit system" on: February 24, 2018, 07:12:47 PM

I don't think there's much of an issue with people hoarding merit; it's giving it to their alt accounts that is going to be the big issue.

It has already started and I believe it will continue to be an issue.

What use do people have for hoarding merit?

Zero.

Any evidence for proving this conclusion ? We can see merits being spend by members here but there is n way to see how many smerits they have currently. Most of the members who wanted to cheat this merit system already spent their merits on alt accounts and then got caught. Genuine members who were awarding merit points to newbies have also spent most of their merit points (as evident from their posts in merit giveaway threads).

Have you not looked at the several threads involving sMerit farming? You do realize these farmers don't just have 3-4 accounts, they have many more. Once those sMerits are used to level up a few chosen sig campaign accounts, off they go to buying more accounts with sMerits. So it would be safe to say the behind the scenes of account sales are surging and there is no short supply of account sellers.
If it has not already happened, the Merit source accounts will be bought and sold so someone with a little savvy will trickle sell the sMerits. Catching these will depend on just how savvy they are.

What are everyone's ideas for improving post quality?

I have mostly ruled out:

 - Removing signatures or sig ads globally.
 - Requiring payment to wear sig ads.
 - Banning account sales.

A couple of ideas that have been floating around in my head:

1. To attain ranks above Member, you'd have to earn some number of merit points. Merit points would be awarded in a monthly vote on best posts of the previous month, with various measures (TBD) to prevent gaming of the vote. Winning merit points might also come with a BTC prize.

2. Create or designate some sections as "serious discussion" sections, with no signatures. In those sections or maybe in different ones, also have poster restrictions such as Member rank or above only. And/or allow topic-creators to set these restrictions on their topics, similar to selfmod topics.

What do you think of these ideas, and what other ideas do people have?

This has been discussed already.   The merit system is new - those who are handing out sMerit irresponsibly will soon run out.

And who will decide is the sMerti hoarding is allowed in this case or not? Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that this won't work, just trying to realize the whole system. From what I see the merit is required to up the account from the Jr and so on, for instance, if someone who holds X amount of sMerit will be deprived of it how this sMerit(free) should be allocated to the others?

Cause from what I see right now merit is kinda very valuable object which is needed for 80% of forum besides the hero/legendary and there is no mechanism to "mine" it because the amount of it will be just dropping down (50% system)

" .......There is no point in hoarding sMerit; keeping it yourself does not benefit you, and we reserve the right to decay unused sMerit in the future."

And do you also provide white supremacy speeches? Because I don't think that people would like to trust someone with nazi simbols on the thread subject as a manager....

Disclaimer: Sometimes european computers don't recognize special characters from other countries, so just in case; I'll screenshot what I'm seeing right now.

Although I do not know the stance of OP, that symbol has been around for thousands of years, not related to white supremacy in the least until it was appropriated by a certain party many decades later.
Still, not the symbol I would have chosen in these times.

Halo, messages sent days ago, no reply. I followed signature steps and attached screenshot signature proof from some javascript litecoin wallet. Help!

338  Other / Meta / Re: Not merit, demerit is the way to go! on: February 17, 2018, 12:28:48 AM
Hey Guys,

The new merit system is not working properly and I think this can be quite dangerous for the quality of this forum.

Why? Simply because they are quite a lot very brilliant posts in this forum (especially in the local forums) which are not merited at all (not even 1 point). If you then see that they are a lot of free merit / scam threads this really dumps your motivation in creating serious content in this forum - cause its simply unfair.

Now consider there is a newbie who affords lot of time in creating some nice content in order to rank up, not merited at all. What do you think the motivation of this guy is going? Do you think he is gonna try this again?

So why don't we think about an demerit system?

Why don't we demerit for spam, off topic, insults or scam attempts and increase thereby the quality of this forum?

If their would be somehow a punishment for bad quality post this would really motivate people to increase their forum behavior.

I am exited how you think about that.

Why the urgent need rank up? Do you need rank to participate here?
Quality? Were you around 5+ years ago to have something to compare to?
Where are these post you cited, please link to them so they will be considered for Merit.
Be excited to be in this community by contributing, not needing to rank up.

Lots of people are getting hacked lately. was your password strong or did it have dictionary words in it etc etc?

Scan your local system with malwarebytes maybe?

Looks like you got really lucky, and caught it just in time...

Today at 06:21:17 PM - Derfcoin - password reset via email

Are you able to see my account history?

Canyou tell me if it shows that someone changed my password?

I never changed my password ever since I created my account.

My password was something exactly like this: doesun20

It's not super weak, but it's not super strong. I just didn't think people would want to hack a forum account!

I never was phished, didn't have malware. I'm really nervous because I don't know if they hacked my end or bitcointalk's

This is probably the culprit. If you use the same PW on other accounts, it really lowers any security.
