Friendly suggestion: If a staked addresses is edited it becomes invalid, the reason should be obvious. I am seeing several that have been edited since initial posting. I would suggest deleting that post and making a new one with any changes.
I would also request anyone that has quoted an edited message to also delete that post.

No, we shouldn't delete a post that quoted an edited message. It is a valid reference for the original owner in case of a stolen account since that message could be his last chance to recover the account. (btw theymos can recover any deleted post)
But for the member quoting message please do not edit your posts and avoid quoting multiple messages at the same time. (i mean 1 post per message)

No it isn't as it has been EDITED  and becomes practically worthless unless someone else quoted it soon after the OP.  It already takes months to recover an account, do you want to draw it out longer, waiting for a post to be restored?

566  Other / Meta / Re: [Account Stolen] Scox UID: 298971 on: October 17, 2017, 12:59:09 AM
I've verified with the user and the account has in fact been compromised.

My connection with the "previous" owner can be proven here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=298971
https://prnt.sc/gy2fnz

I fail to see how this is proof?

I'm guessing it certifies Zarathustra's long time connection with me prior to the hack which only happened within the past 24h.

I suggest you read the sticky in Meta on what is required as proof.
567  Other / Meta / Re: Account Hacked - Help on: October 16, 2017, 07:30:28 PM
So my legendary account "tokyoghetto" was hacked over the weekend. No email verification sent. Other than sending a signed msg from a BTC address I no longer use, is there an other way to get my account back?

If not is there a way for the admins to block/delete my old account. there was a lot of sensitive information in my private msgs and the account was being used to perform a blockchain swap.

thank you

Read the sticky in Meta.

I did read the sticky. My only problem is that they require a signed msg from a btc address that is associated with the account. If this is a requirement, why don't they make it a necessary step in registration.

I control altcoin address associated with my hacked account but not a btc account.

What alt. how old and is it staked in an unedited post?

I started a Hobonickel Journal back in January 2014. This is the thread

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=406112.msg4400543#msg4400543 this post contains the HBN address.

I used this address F279k6BLzn9YPh2ARx35jo2HPLJL2S8cHr which I still use to stake HBN to this day.

If you can sign a message with that, use the format here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0 and send to Cyrus.

570  Other / Meta / Re: Member trying to steal tokens from my ETH wallet [Proof] on: October 16, 2017, 06:34:12 PM
My private key was compromised few days ago. I made peace with the fact and moved on. Some tokens are still locked in the adress.

One of the member tried to withdraw XXX tokens and posted failed transaction data on forum, which caught my attention. Data was identical to the guy that was trying to transfer my tokens to his wallet. I checked his bitcointalk ID and he has ETH adress in his bio, that has a transaction from MY wallet. I'm 100% sure it is him.

I have proof. I won't post it yet, as I'm not sure what would be the best way to handle this. What can be done ?

You need to move this to Scam Accusations.

Not unless you can sign a message properly from a bitcoin address.
what you explain further about what that means?
Should I just find a post that includes my btc address only? And if I couldn’t find one there is no other way?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

Did you follow that and PM cyrus? If you post the signed message here I can verify it but not restore access to it.
i have pmed you
Can you help me?

574  Economy / Reputation / Re: I have been given negative trust for unclear reason? on: October 16, 2017, 05:13:25 PM
Hello everyone so I'm having this negative trust for somewhat long time, and after being ignored by Vod (who gave me negative trust) I'm seeking for help here.
Firstly I will post the reference , https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1535732.0

Now I'm seeking for help or atleast ask Vod kindly to review this case again?
I'm really unhappy with the status I'm given and I think this scam accusation is false. I have not scammed anyone ever and especially not this guy.

So if there's anyone that can alert Vod to come and step by here, please do so. Thanks in advance Smiley
Also, if there are some questions I will happily answer them.

as i understand, that in that thread, smartguy143 are telling proving that you was scamming him, thats why you get red trust and Vod willnot delete it, util this problem willnot be solved and clear, so first you need to solve this problem and then you can ask Vod to remove your red trust

The thing is, he doesn't proove anything, screenshots do not proove anything, atleast not in his case. I'm not asking Vod to delete it but review the case again and then decide whether it should be removed or not. If u pay clear attention to the screenshots you will see that he states nothing in there but some random convo screens.

Np I can explain.

So there used to be a service called Peerchecker, where you would basically type captcha and get paid for it, it was legit.
There were limited accounts which means not every1 could do the work so people started selling their accounts (including me). So what happened is I sold him the account, and after few days paying rates dropped and he said that the job became too hard cause its paying low (u can see that in screenshots). So he literally asked me to give him back the money for which he bought the account (40$) cause he didn't want to work anymore, and when i refused he decided to open scam accusation vs me, which is ridic..

Hope this made it somewhat clear.

can you provide of any prove what are you telling? because i cannot find any screenshots you are talking about. with this story only, i think Vod willnot delete your red trust.

you must be more clear and have some prove of your story...

It's literally there in the screenshots. You can clearly see that he bought my account for 40$ and there's transaction of that (screenshot aswell). In the last screenshot u can see him saying its hard to work. That reference is almost 2 years old, I'm not sure if I can provide any more proof, except the inbox messages from here. Skype chat logs are on my old computer which is not owned by me anymore.

Not proof for vod but proof for you? Odd how that works.

Roll Eyes Hello,

I have lost the access to my account : Meuh6879 at ~9h00 GMT
Password has been changed without my agreement : https://bitcointalk.org/seclog.php

I have send a PM to theymos with a couple of private informations to recover this account (i use a temporary username & temporary email in this thread).
Strangely, i don't receive the email with a password reset link.

If you can't recover the Meuh6879 from the PM privates informations (perhaps, it's not enough or too long), i want that you delete the Meuh6879 account instead.  Cool

Where is this address located? Sorry, too lazy to look for it Undecided

@cripperz, look at the situation this way:

You have been here since 2011, yet you don't know very well how the forum operates.
Anyway, lets leave that aside.

Lets say that you are who you say you are, and that the account is yours. Also lets assume that you have been away for 6 years on other business, for your case.
Then now, when you come back after 6 years you want to use your account. What do you do?

1. Change password. [Seems fair, you might have forgotten and for this you need email access]
2. Change email. [ok, lets also add this. However, to have the ability to change email you need to know your password and log in to your account]

Why change email and password at the same time? If you have had access to your account or your email guaranteed (If you say the account is really yours)

Also, no-one ever said you changed your password, only email. You are just confirming what Lauda has tagged your account for. The more you say, the more suspicious it gets  Roll Eyes
