Transfer rumours:

Manchester United are accelerating their attempts to persuade former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane to take over as manager. United have apparently increased their financial offer to the 49-year-old Frenchman to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford. Personally, I think this is not a realistic option and that Zidane actually wants to take over the French national team.
Manchester City and England winger Raheem Sterling has told the club that he wants a loan move to Barcelona in January. The 26-year-old has started just three games this season and has asked City to sanction the move. It is obvious that Sterling is not happy in Manchester and that he wants a new challenge and they want him in Barcelona.
Manchester United are interested in signing Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele. The 24-year-old France forward will enter the final six months of his contract in the coming weeks, with United interested in a deal. I am not sure that this transfer will be realized because Xavi is seriously counting on Dembele.
Paris St-Germain have dropped their interest in Norway and Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland, 21, and will instead pursue the signing of 21-year-old Serbia forward Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina. If Haaland has become too expensive even for PSG, then who else can pay him and bring him in as a new player?

2204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: November 21, 2021, 08:17:42 AM
I never expected the absence of Messi to affect Barcelona this much. They are not among the top 6 in their League and their performance has dropped. We all blamed it on their former Coach Koeman, and now that they have a new Coach, I hope their performance improves. Well, their next Champion League match is against Benfica. Although, their last encounter with Benfica in the Champion League wasn't a good one. But, Benfica won't easily win this time, Barcelona will probably fight for 3 winning points, which they are likely to get. However, the match will be very tough, and it might end draw.
Messi is not a problem of Barcelona but people did not recognize his contribution for the club when he was there. They tried to say Messi is one of their problems. Then when Messi departured them, they blamed it on Koeman. What the board of Barcelona did is blaming on players and coaches. They did not admit their mistake and fix it.

The season will be key for Barcelona. They can pass through all challenge, rebuild the club and come back stronger in next 2 or 3 seasons. It will be smooth only if they don't fall into financial crisis. The failure to get a position in top 4 of La Liga and striked out in Champions League will be nightmare for them.

How could they think that Messi was the problem, when Messi even said that he will play for half of his wage just to play for Barcelona. I think the board has become delusional and cannot take any decision with A straight mind.

If I remember correctly, Messi even said that one season he might be ready to play for free, but that no one asked him that.
It’s actually a shame how the first Suarez the year before, and this year Messi, both in tears and against their will, were forced to leave Barcelona.
Barcelona behaved shamefully towards their football legends and because of that they became a small club and lost my respect.
Too bad Xavi didn't become Barcelona's coach before because then this wouldn't have happened and Suarez and Messi would still be playing for Barcelona.

Latest news from Australia:

''Unvaccinated players will not be allowed to compete at the 2022 Australian Open, says tournament director Craig Tiley.''
There had been confusion over the issue in recent months with contradictory statements from leading Australian politicians.
Defending men's champion Novak Djokovic has said he does not want to reveal his vaccination status publicly.

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/59356156

So the news that tennis players will be able to perform at the GS in Australia even if they are not vaccinated was still wrong.
The question of all questions is now whether the main star of the tournament, Djokovic, has been vaccinated or not?
If not, he will not be able to perform and it will be a really big shock for Djokovic but also for his fans.
What do you think?
Given his vaccination statements so far, do you think Djokovic will vaccinate so he can play in this tournament?

Australia has always been very strict in this pandemic and I can understand them. I don't think Djokovic has been vaccinated and I don't think he will get one either so he will probably not participate in the AO...
.

The real question is how many tennis players have actually been vaccinated and how many will be able to perform at the GS in Australia at all.
If Djokovic and some other top tennis players will not be able to play for this reason, can we talk about the questionable regularity of this tournament?
What is certain is that tennis fans will be most disappointed because they will not be able to watch Djokovic and probably some other famous and favorite tennis players.
If this situation continues, I think it will affect the earnings of tennis tournaments because Australia GS with or without Djokovic is not the same tournament.

By the way, does anyone follow the world number 1 tennis news right now, disappearance of Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai from the public after she accused a prominent Chinese politician of raping her?
Many famous tennis players have asked China to prove that she is good and free, including Serena, Osaka, Djokovic, and even a world tennis federation threatens to cancel all tennis tournaments in China because of this case.

you are free to apply to be a merit source if you believe your local need an active merit source. theymos may consider including you as merit source based on your judgement of sharing merits.

I don't know about that cause a year ago my fellow legendary countryman applying for merit source but sad to say didn't accepted. And I don't know also about this if low ranks applying for Merit Source got accepted. Anyways that's not the problems here we can Post in global section and get merit.

Based on these statistics:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5231446.0

it seems to me that there is still enough merits available in your local part of the forum, for quality posts.
Of course, if you disagree with this statement and think you need a new local merit source, then why not apply for a merit source in person?
Theymos is a reasonable person and if you can prove with arguments that your local part of the forum lacks merits for quality posts, that will be corrected.
Only a person who has the support of the local community and a good reputation on the forum should apply for a merit source.

Još jedan novi dokumentarni film iz nekolika epizoda The Mystery of Satoshi (Misterija Satoshi) na francuskom jeziku, ali ima titlove na engleskom i drugim jezicima ako ne parlate francuski.

~snip

kad smo vec kod Satoshi-ja, evo zanimljive teorije da je u pitanju kanadjanin "James A Donald", navodnici jer bi i to mogao biti pseudonim
https://medium.com/quantum-economics/i-know-who-satoshi-nakamoto-is-a3059ef02c34

Transfer rumours:

The Old Trafford side are also planning to let France midfielder Paul Pogba, 28, leave, with Real Madrid his most likely destination. Has an agreement finally been reached around Pogba and is this great football saga finally over?
Chelsea defenders Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen are transfer targets for new Barcelona boss Xavi who is looking to sign the pair on free transfers. Azpilicueta, 32, and Christensen, 25, are both out of contract next summer. Given the current very difficult financial situation, it is obvious that Barcelona has no other way to bring in quality players.
Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has been linked with Newcastle United and Tottenham with his contract running out in the summer, but the 29-year-old Croatia international says he wants to stay at the Serie A club. I don't really understand why Brozovic doesn't want to try to play in England, I believe it would be a much bigger challenge and opportunity for him than staying to play in Italy.
Chelsea's Christian Pulisic could be on his way to Liverpool as the 23-year-old American winger's game time continues to be limited at Stamford Bridge. I will be really surprised if Chelsea let such a quality player to play for a direct competitor for the title of champion.

Bayern Munich would play without fans against Barcelona in the Champions League

Bayern Munich runs the risk of playing without his fans for the match against him Barcelona of the last day of the Group Stage of Champions League, which will be played on December 8, due to the measures imposed on the increase in Covid-19 cases in Bavaria.

Anyone tired of this shit? Is the situation really so bad that it is worth depriving people of the holiday because of this? All this madness has been going on for two years and I see that the authorities are used to introducing absolutely inadequate measures for any reason. It will be unpleasant for me to watch this match without fans.

I’m afraid that could happen to other clubs in the Champions League, even in other countries.
It seems to me that I read somewhere that soon even footballers in Germany will not be allowed to play if they are not vaccinated.
I agree that everything has gone too far but I sincerely hope that we will not watch the matches of top clubs in empty stadiums again. It kills the very purpose of top sport.
The worst that can happen is that the authorities postpone the match due to the increased number of infected in Germany now.
2212  Other / Meta / Re: Can a permanent ban be reconsidered on: November 20, 2021, 03:10:38 PM
But it's stressful growing an account from scratch to a high profiled account only to get banned permanently without any form of future consideration.

This is a reality that everyone has to accept, because plagiarism is a form of virtual theft, and if you steal something in real life and get caught you have to bear the consequences. However, I believe that everyone who made such a mistake, and was a valuable member of the forum, got a second chance, the only difference is that some waited for a second chance for 2 days, and some for almost 2 years.

I've seen maybe two cases of a permaban being overturned in all my years here.

I remember there were a lot more than 2 cases, especially considering that some got a perma-ban which was then changed to a signature ban (see a post from @DdmrDdmr). I well remember the long-running case of @RegulusHr being unbanned, and also the case of @bill gator who claimed he didn’t know about the plagiarized posts because he bought an account from someone, but also @Aveatrex, @ChiNgadOr, @tvplus006, and some other members who were given a second chance.

This is what bothers me too, unequal criteria in similar cases.
I agree that plagiarism is a very serious offense and should be punished and I also agree that deserving forum members, with a high reputation and the support of the forum community, should be given a new chance.
What I don't understand is why some cases of permaban are resolved in 2 days and some are resolved in 2 years, as was the case with RegulusHr.
In the case of RegulusHr, the whole local community gave him their support, and that support didn't stop for a full 2 years, and that was the main reason that the permaban for Regulushr was permanently removed.
To answer the question of the OP, permaban can be reconsidered, but only in the case of a deserving and distinguished member of the forum, who has the great support of the forum community.

2213  Other / Meta / Re: Generous Source of Merit Only In Global Section. on: November 20, 2021, 02:56:45 PM
The main language of this forum is English and it is logical that the most important things happen in the English part of the forum, quality discussions, exchange of information, giving merits for quality posts etc.
If there is a disproportion in the local part of the forum between the number of quality posts and the number of shared merits, then someone should explain the situation here in Meta, and than I suggest that some local member, with a good reputation on the forum,  apply here for a merit source.
In this way, other local parts of the forum got their local merit source, including the Croatian part of the forum.
A few years ago, the same problem existed in the Croatian part of the forum, a lot of quality posts but lack of merits, and then I applied for merit source and when the admin accepted my request, I opened this topic in the Croatian part of the forum, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4265795.0 where all local members can report your quality posts and get merit.
I suggest you do something similar. Theymos is a very reasonable person and if your request is justified, he will approve it.

I need to make these exemplary; If for instance you have a job that pays you 100dollars every month end and fix some allowances for your upkeep maybe at 20 dollars per week, can a reasonable person that understands the rise and fall in currency, risk involved in trading and the coins you're going to lose , comfortably choose trading over his job? Anyone that does these and is paying his tax and levies + bills by himself is slowly luring himself into stealing and fraud: look at these critically Cheesy
I mean.....its not even necessary at all

You have chosen a very good and logical example, thank you for that as well.
Every man should be responsible in what he does and plan well.
Crypto trading should always remain a secondary source of income, regardless of the initial good results, because we all know very well that trends in the crypto market change very quickly.
I would leave my primary job only when I would make a really big profit from crypto trading and withdraw that money to a bank account and when I could live carefree from that money for the rest of my life.
Everything else is just dreams and fantasies but far from the reality of real life.

In the womens WTA Final (which I havent been following) Muguruza beat Kontaveit in 2 sets.
This is massive for her, she has had very mixed results in the last number of years,
are we seeing some sort of comeback?

For me, this is also a big surprise because she has not been anywhere for a long time, and we have already forgotten about this tennis player.
Here is a brief overview of her career from Wikipedia:

2   Career
2.1   2012
2.2   2013
2.3   2014: First WTA title, steady results & rise in doubles
2.4   2015: First Grand Slam final & top 10 in doubles, WTA finals debut
2.5   2016: French Open champion and world No. 2
2.6   2017: Wimbledon crown and world No. 1
2.7   2018: Mixed results, out of top 10
2.8   2019: Continued struggles, out of top 30
2.9   2020: Return to form, first Australian Open final
2.10   2021: Return to top 3, WTA Finals champion

Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garbi%C3%B1e_Muguruza

She has been in a major crisis but is apparently slowly returning to the top of tennis.
I loved watching her before as a tennis player and I am glad that she is back and that we are watching her again in the finals of the biggest tennis tournaments.
In women's tennis, after Serena dropped out of the top due to age, we no longer have a champion who would be dominant, like the big three in men's tennis.
We have a new winner in almost every women's tournament and I think that's why women's tennis has become quite interesting lately.

2218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: November 18, 2021, 09:02:12 AM
The qualifiers are set up a bit differently now - 12 teams will be split into 3 pots. Each team will play a semifinal and a final, so from 3 pots there will be 3 winners that will secure qualifications to the World Cup.

Since each game will be a one-off, the room for error is nonexistent. Also - the probability to play another big team in the final is really high.

Bottom line - I'm really glad that Croatia was able to qualify directly. This is way harder than before.

Yes, Croatia should real promise the last world cup and I am happy for them too. But I am really sad about Portugal not qualifying directly. As this is Cristiano Ronaldo's last world cup I think deserved better from his own team.
While it is sad at the end of the day they have no one other than themselves to blame, they only needed two draws during their last two matches to get their ticket to the world cup and they were unable to do this under circumstances that were very favorable to them.

And what should be really disappointing is not only that they failed to qualify directly to the world cup but how this happened, they allowed a goal at the last minutes of the most important game of the qualifiers, which tells me they let their guard down as they felt they were already qualified to the world cup, and we will have to see if Portugal can get their ticket to the world cup, something not easy when there are many good teams which could beat them any given day.

Such things happen, didn’t Italy fail to qualify for the last World Cup and later they became European champions?
Portugal should also have lost in the match against Ireland, so this defeat against Serbia is not too much of a surprise either, the better team deservedly won.
If Portal does not raise the level of their game and aggression, they will not go to the World Cup.
As for Ronaldo, given how he plays at the moment, it is not impossible for him to perform at the next World Cup in 5 years, and I think that is his wish.

I can't cite this post because bitcointalk.org is blacklisted

IMO that's the worst part !

Must be the consequence of the ICO spam from 4-5 years ago... saw there were 2 requests made to remove it from the spam-blacklist in 2018 but were denied. pity ...

I just made a request to whitelist the unofficial rules and FAQ thread.

My additions about the bitcointalk hacks were deleted because the citations (from coindesk and others) are not considered reliable sources.

I have no qualms about Coindesk in particular but given most bitcoin news is grossly inaccurate, it makes quite hard to find a reliable (by their standards) source.

Once upon a time I found several articles on Wikipedia, and due to inaccuracies tried to correct them.
I thought I succeeded in that but later the admin, a person with more authority, came and canceled my changes.
Wikipedia is very popular as a source of information and is often the first result on Google search engine.
Therefore, it is important that the information on Wikipedia is accurate, but on Wikipedia the problem is often not the facts itself but the interpretation of these facts, because of worldview and other reasons.
This is especially true of sensitive historical and political topics.
I hope you will succeed in your action but unfortunately in Wikipedia ordinary contributors do not have much power to change anything, only administrators.
If the administrators have a negative attitude towards crypto then it will be very difficult to change anything.
2220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: November 17, 2021, 07:05:48 PM

In fact, Croatia has always been very successful in the additional qualifiers and each time they won and qualified for the World Cup, since 1998.
However, these qualifications will be the most difficult so far, and it is certainly good that Croatia has avoided it.
Can you imagine the match in the second round between Italy and Portugal, and their big fight for the World Cup, which is not impossible?  Cheesy
